IT’S been a life less ordinary for Nicklas Bendtner since retiring.The Arsenal cult icon, now 35, hung up his boots in 2021, following a spell with his boyhood club FC Copenhagen.

But he will always be synonymous with the Gunners – and was even spotted heading towards the turnstiles at the Emirates for Sunday’s game against Brighton wearing a retro top.
During his playing days, things were not always so straight-forward.
First, he admitted nearly becoming bankrupt after gambling away almost £5.4million in poker, including blowing £400,000 in 90 minutes at a London casino.
Then, he was placed under house-arrest in 2020 and had to wear an electronic tag for assaulting a taxi driver.

Since he said farewell to the game though, ‘Lord Bendtner’ is enjoying a luxurious lifestyle.
From once-in-a-lifetime trips accompanied by his Swedish girlfriend Clara Wahlqvist to kickboxing retreats in Thailand, wine-tasting with pals, and scuba diving in the Philippines – jet set doesn’t cover it.
While back in his homeland, Bendtner has become a reality TV star fronting his own prank show.

Bendtner’s instagram offers a window into how he spends his £7million fortune.
He loves designer clothes, and is a particular fan of Louis Vuitton’s collaboration with Supreme and Gucci.
It’s travelling the world and pursuing outdoor activities that have piqued his interest.
Back in February, he was pictured scuba diving in Palawan Island, Philippines.
Before that, there was a trekking through the ice mountains of Sweden on an excursion that would have appealed to Sir Ranulph Fiennes.
Then, skiing in the exclusive Austrian village of St Anton am Arlberg.
A holiday in Mykonos was the ticket to top up his tan, while a retreat in Thailand to brush up on his kickboxing skills was a clearly a must.
While wine-tasting, smoking cigars, hunting and horse riding are all additional hobbies Bendtner has taken on.

Sweet ride
The high-life wouldn’t be complete if you didn’t have an amazing car.
Through the years, Bendtner has been seen behind the wheel of some incredible motors, including an £120,000 Aston Martin he wrote off in 2009.
Amusingly, he was called “brainless” and “insane” for trying to buy a £300,000 Rolls-Royce, when he was released by FC Copenhagen and was unemployed.
That hasn’t stopped him from splashing the cash on a Porsche Taycan Turbo S – worth around £230,000.
However, he had the motor seized in 2021, and subsequently lost an appeal against driving convictions to get it back.
He was seen attending his court hearing last week in a more modest Volvo.
On social media, Bendtner also shared a snap of a glorious 1988 Porsche.

Amazing Wag
Ladies man Bendtner moved on from former flame Philine Roepstorff, who reportedly hooked up with Spider-Man Tom Holland, with another stunning model.
The object of his desires is blonde stunner Clara Wahlqvist – a former Miss Universe Sweden winner.
And she certainly knows how to make him happy.
Back in January, she jumped onto Instagram to wish him a happy birthday, while calling him “my favourite person”.
Accompanying her sweet message was a collage of photos of the pair looking loved up.
Clara has joined her beloved on many of his high-jinx jaunts.

Small screen fame
Although he is reportedly working towards his coaching badges, Bendtner is happy to take advantage of his fame in Denmark.
Going down the route of the Kardashians, he appeared in a reality TV show called Bendtner & Philine that followed his life and former romance with the Danish beauty.
Astonishingly, it ran for two seasons before they split up.
Bendtner then teamed up with Amazon Prime to present Nicolas Pranker – a show where he went undercover to prank mates and members of the public.
One hilarious moment saw the funny man convince someone off the street to help him steal a TV.

Game boy
During lockdown, and with his career at a crossroads, Bendtner turned to gaming.
He said it gave him a connection with the outside world, but it also prompted him to set up a business.
His addiction to Counter-Strike influenced a decision to set up his Prosapia eSport team.
Bendtner said: “When the coronavirus came and I was bound by isolation, I started playing Counter-Strike.
“It gave me a sense of connection to the outside world.  My knowledge and interest started to grow.
“I learned about the esports industry, and the impact it has on young people who are working very hard to reach the top.

“That’s why I founded Prosapia eSport, so that my employees and I can help young and promising talent reach their goals.
“But most importantly, the Counter-Strike game brings me joy.”

Italian wonderkid Cher Ndour, 18, has been turning heads for Benfica’s B team, where he has been described as the ‘next Paul Pogba’.
And with his contract set to expire this summer, a massive scramble for his signature is expected.
Man City are the latest side to join the race, with Man Utd, PSG, Juventus and AC Milan all in the chase.

It started for Cher in his native Brescia.
Young promise
Born and raised in the northern Italian region of Lombardy, Ndour played for the Serie B side’s youth team from the age of eight.
By 11, he was snapped up by Atalanta and continued his development in Bergamo.
His rapid growth made him stand out on the pitch. By 16 he stood at 6ft2in tall.

He wasn’t all skin and bone though. Blessed with strength and a flawless technique, bigger foreign clubs showed an interest.
Barcelona circled, as did Benfica.
It was the Primeira Liga outfit he chose for his next adventure.
“I already had the desire to have a new experience, and Benfica is one of the clubs that bets more on young players,” he told BTV.
“Since I know there’s that bet, I want to try to get to the first team fast.”

Fast tracked
Ndour made his debut for Benfica B at the tender age of 16 years and 269 years.
His appearance beat the record set by Joao Felix as the youngest to represent the club at that level.
It was a debut that would allow him to cement a position in the side who play their games in Portugal’s second division.
The playmaker, who can play in a more advanced role, has gone to appear 56 times in total for Benfica’s B side and has contributed five goals since.
Back in March, Ndour made his senior debut for the club in a 5-1 win against Vitoria SC.
At international level, he has been capped by Italy at U15, U16, U18 and U20 level.
They have bright hopes for the talent, although it has been reported he is reluctant to return home just yet – quashing chances of a Juventus bromance with Paul Pogba, who he is the apparent heir to.

To encourage harmony, he will bring with him his trusted backroom staff.
These include his sports scientist son and an ex Olympic champion.

Spaniard Perez, 51, is held in such high-regard by the former Tottenham manager he has described him as an “extension of myself.”
They started their Premier League odyssey at Southampton, a job which the assistant convinced his manager to take despite speaking very little English at the time.
But you have to go back as far as 2010 when their paths first crossed at Espanyol.
Perez was brought into the club by sporting director Ramon Planes, before he worked alongside Poch on the basis of being the only coach at the LaLiga side who knew how to use prototype match analysis software.

Obsessed with fitness, he is widely regarded as helping both Southampton and Tottenham become one of the fittest teams in the country.
His fitness plan is believed to have aided the physical development of Harry Kane.

When Pochettino played at Newell’s Old Boys in Argentina under Marcelo Bielsa, he formed a close friendship with fellow defender D’Agostino.
The bruising centre back’s distinguished career saw him play in Chile, Ecuador, France, Mexico and Spain, before he hung up his boots in 2003.
After he retired, D’Agostino, 51, tried his hand at coaching and worked at Canet-en-Rousillon, Brest and Dubai CSC.
In 2009, Pochettino invited his friend to Espanyol, where he began scouting for the club.
Soon, he became a full-time member of the coaching staff – filming training sessions and providing analysis.
However, D’Agostino almost drowned when he was thrown overboard on a rafting trip with Pochettino in Argentina, where they were also joined by Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy.

Toni Jimenez, Goalkeeper Coach
Jimenez, 52, played between the sticks for Espanyol and then Atletico Madrid, after starting his career at Barcelona.
He was also capped three times for Spain.
But his international career is best remembered for appearing at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona, where he was picked ahead of Valencia legend Santiago Canizares.
The shotstopper, who featured in a team that had the likes of Pep Guardiola and Luis Enrique in the first eleven, would win a gold medal with his country.
When he retired from football, Jimenez worked as a director at Espanyol before completing his coaching badges alongside Pochettino.
France World Cup winner Hugo Lloris has been complimentary about the pair’s coaching techniques in the past.
“When I first met Toni and Mauricio, I started spending more time in the gym and looking after my body, developing more muscle and improving my technique,” Lloris revealed.
“I spend a lot of time with him and with Toni looking at videos and they showed me what they expected from me. 
“The first few weeks, you wonder if what they are trying to do will work but after you start to notice at training and later in the game and then you think, ‘Okay, maybe they’re right’.”

Sebastiano Pochettino, Sports Scientist and Fitness Coach
Despite being Poch’s son, there’s is no sentiment with appointing Sebastiano.
The eldest of his clan at 28, he began working with his dad at Tottenham in 2016 as a sports scientist and fitness coach.
Before his appointment he received a first class honours degree from Southampton Solent University in Applied Sports Science.
He moved with his father to PSG, where he completed a Masters in the ‘Integrative Biology of the Adaptations to Exercise for Health and Performance’ at Paris-Saclay University.
English, French and Spanish speaking, Sebastiano specialises in injury prevention and strength and conditioning training.
Back in 2017, Poch denied nepotism when it came to his son and insisted he could go on to work for another manager.

Karina Pochettino, Wife
The person who Poch trusts the most is wife, Karina.
They met at a Rosario nightclub called Arrow in 1991, and it was love at first sight.
Three years later the pair walked down the aisle as his career with Newell’s Old Boys was taking off.
She lives a very private life and is very rarely seen in football circles.
However, Karina, 49, was said to be instrumental in convincing her husband to manage on our shores.

Poch wobbled on the idea when Southampton offered him the post in 2013 because of his lack of English.
That’s when Karina stepped in and said he should give it shot. The rest is history.
