      But SunSport has learned the boxing legend has now taken the listing down after failing to find any buyers.
      The stunning gated property can be found in the affluent area of Pacific Palisades, near Santa Monica and Malibu.
      And it has all the amenities a sports icon would want, including a pool, tennis court, as well as a putting green.
      Sugar Ray, believed to be worth around £120m, has lived in the home with wife Bernadette for over 20 years now, and it appears they won’t leaving it anytime soon.

      IT’S HUGE
      Built across 16,773-square-foot, there’s a seven bedroom main house, plus a two-storey guest house.
      It was designed by famed architect to the stars Richard Landry, who counts the likes of Mark Wahlberg, Eddie Murphy, and Rod Stewart among his clientele.
      Style-wise, it has a lot in common with a European villa with features like ivy-covered walls, full glass rectangular doors, and the stone walls throughout the property that were imported from Jerusalem.
      And there’s six fireplaces, delivered from Europe, that keep the house cosy.

      After he retired in the ring, Sugar Ray spent a lot of time on the golf course – and plays with an 18 handicap.
      To improve his putting skills, he installed his own five-hole putting green on his estate.
      And that’s not the end of the sporty theme.
      Sugar Ray, who won titles at welterweight, light-middleweight, middleweight, super-middleweight and light-heavyweight, also has his own tennis court.
      When he’s done working out, he can head down to his sunken pool for a dip, which is flanked by a spa, and some gorgeous landscaped gardens.

      When the home was put for sale in July last year, Bernadette said: “This home has been a peaceful oasis.
      “We’ve been blessed to have a space allowing us to host both intimate family gatherings and sizeable fundraisers.

      FROM a refugee camp to the Champions League within the space of two decades – jet-heeled Alphonso Davies has one incredible story to tell.
      The 19-year-old Canadian flying winger joined Bayern Munich for £17million in January, 2019 from Vancouver Whitecaps, the biggest fee ever paid for an MLS player.

      And in the past year, he has showed it was money well spent as he blossomed into, arguably, the best left-back in the world.
      In Bayern’s 8-2 destruction of Barcelona, who rejected him as a youngster, in last week’s Champions League quarter-final tie, Davies tore a shred out of experience Portuguese international Nelson Semedo to set up the Germans’ fifith goal.
      He also devastating in his side’s 3-0 win over Chelsea in the Champions League back in February.
      The lightning winger-turned-full-back was sensational at Stamford Bridge as Chelsea could not get near him.

      Bayern team-mate Thomas Muller said: “He’s learnt a lot since he’s been here. It was a world class performance.”
      And former Munich and England star Owen Hargreaves said: “What an athlete he is. He’s a winger, he’s played as a full-back this season, and he’s been absolutely outrageous.”

      WAR-TORN BEGINNINGS
      When the Second Liberian Civil War started, his parents Victoria and Debeah Davies fled their homeland.

      “You had to cross over bodies to go and find food,” his mother Victoria said.
      “It was hard, it was dangerous,” father Debeah said.
      “It was hard to live there because the only way you survive sometimes is you have to carry guns, too. And we didn’t have any interest in shooting guns.”
      They travelled hundreds of miles across West Africa, eventually finding sanctuary in a refugee camp at Buduburam in the Gomoa East District of Ghana.

      Their eldest child Alphonso was born on November 2, 2000, and he spent the first five years of his life in the camp.
      Eventually they passed an interview for a resettlement programme and settled in Edmonton, Canada.
      HE DISCOVERED FOOTBALL
      Alphonso enrolled in the Free Footie programme – an after-school initiative for inner-city kids who cannot afford registration fees or transportation to games.
      He was spotted by the Whitecaps, and four years ago, at the age of just 15, Davies was handed his professional debut for reserve team Whitecaps FC 2.

      Later that summer, former Whitecaps coach Carl Robinson took the punt and gave Davies his first taste of top-flight football, making him the second youngest MLS player after Freddy Adu.
      ‘HE CAN RUN ALL DAY’
      Robinson, 41, a former Wolves, Sunderland and Norwich midfielder, now in charge of A-League side Newcastle Jets, said: “Alphonso has all the attributes you want top players to have: he’s 6ft 1in, he’s an athlete, he can run all day, he has phenomenal pace.

      “What he needs to work on is the fact he does the really hard things well and yet he sometimes messes up the simple things. But that’s down to concentration.
      “I wanted to get him in the first-team environment because I saw him as this energetic, hungry player, who could cope with men but had to be taught sooner rather than later.
      “I have always been sick of stories of players who have talent but were not given the chance.
      “He was very skinny and slight but once he beat one or two players other coaches saw the same potential I saw in him.

      “Remember, he was still a young boy, he liked going out for ice cream, playing on his PlayStation until 2am. Which, of course, is not ideal for being a pro footballer.
      “But I tried to find a balance between letting him being a boy and going through and learning his own mistakes.

      “He’s a brilliant person. He likes to dance and sing.
      “He is a proper human being. His mum and dad deserve a lot of credit for bringing him up the right way.”
      In 2018, Davies received Canadian citizenship.
      Once the formalities were agreed, he became, at the age of 16, the youngest player to represent the Canada men’s national team.

      Several Premier League clubs showed interest in Davies, notably Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool, but the Bayern offer proved too lucrative to turn down.
      Robinson, a former Wales international, said: “Alphonso has the mentality of Robbie Keane, who played with an edge, didn’t care about anybody when he came through at 15.
      “But his characteristics are like Gareth Bale.

      “I worked with Gareth at Wales, and I would say Alphonso is around the same level.
      “Alphonso moved to a big club at 17; Gareth didn’t get his chance until later.
      “But they are very similar and I liken them to each other.
      “His incredible story is the reason why you play this game.
      “He has proved dreams do come true.”

      The pair are set to fight one another next year, if Fury disposes of Deontay Wilder in their trilogy bout and Joshua escapes unscathed from his world title defence against Kubrat Pulev.
      And it is set to be one of the richest fights in boxing history, earning as much as £150million, taking into account the purse, pay-per-view purchases, gate receipts and sponsors.
      However, British boxing fans will be disappointed to learn that it’s unlikely the fight will take place on our shores, and is more likely to be held in Las Vegas or Saudi Arabia.

      Outside the ring, Joshua, 30, and Fury, 32, are contrasting personalities that live fairly modest lives.
      Joshua, who has amassed a reported £107million fortune, lives in a North London home with his mum. While Fury, worth around £30million, has a base in Morecambe and plenty of impressive motors.
      But how do they compare?
      CARS
      After suffering with depression, Tyson decided it was best to scale down his lifestyle.

      Instead, he bought himself a 15-year-old Mercedes S-Class for £2,000. A shrewd investment from the big man.
      He did own a £160k Ferrari California, before he sold it to one of his friends.
      And Fury has also been seen around town in a £150,000 camo-wrapped Range Rover.
      “I used to love leading the flash life, like most red-blooded young men,” Tyson admitted.
      “No longer. I’m not interested in material possessions. Not any more. They mean nothing.”
      However, he has slightly contradicted himself of late.
      Tyson recently splashed around £300,000 on a Ferrari GTC supercar.
      While he also has a Land Rover Defender worth around £38,000, that he takes great joy in keeping clean.
      Meanwhile, Anthony did have his very own bespoke Range Rover –  the SVAutobiography-Dynamic through a sponsorship deal with Jaguar.

      As for Tyson, we’ve seen him show off his taste in bizarre high-end fashion but he doesn’t tend to overly accessorise at all.

      When AJ trains in Sheffield he lives in a tiny two bedroom flat
      AJ did spend a portion of his hard-earned winnings on a rented property in a north London mansion while he was training for the Wladimir Klitschko fight.
      According to a report, the mansion near Lord’s Cricket Ground was worth £27 million.
      It belonged to South African diamond trader Walter Hennig, and cost AJ around £20,000 per month.
      Needless to say, after the fight was done AJ reportedly moved back into his mum’s council flat once again.
      And when he trains, he retreats to a humble two-bedroom flat in Sheffield he once showed off on YouTube.

      Both Joshua and Fury do their bit for charity.
      Alongside StubHub, Joshua helped raise £10,000 for the Key4Life last year.
      And in 2018, he began working with anti-knife charity Steel Warriors to help tackle knife crime in London.
      “I like to give, for sure, to help people. That’s important. I want to invest because I like business,” he once revealed.
      In 2018, it was reported that Tyson donated his entire purse (£7million) to a charity helping the homeless and needy.
      He is an ambassador for the Frank Bruno Foundation, an organisation that exists to provide a safe environment with the aim to improve the mental wellbeing of participants who are facing or recovering from mental ill health.

      And the 18-year-old Dutch defender comes with the some pedigree.
      Standing at 6ft 5in, not only is he a man-mountain, his composed style has drawn comparisons to Liverpool star Virgil Van Dijk.
      However, he is something of a late bloomer.
      AN UNKNOWN ENTITY
      As is standard with Dutch players coming through the youth system, it’s normally the big two – Ajax and PSV – who have first dibs on the best talents coming through.

      But Mbuyamba slipped through the cracks.
      And he was ignored by the national team at youth level too.
      “It is strange that they never came, but the same applies to the KNVB,” Mbuyamba told Dutch TV station RTL.

      Having starred for their under-19 team in central defence and at right-back, it was hard for the ambitious centre half to stomach.
      However, a divide between La Masia and the B team was said to be one of the reasons for Mbuyamba’s lack of opportunity at a higher level.
      He also had hoped a loan deal would help him gain valuable first team experience, but Barcelona saw it differently.
      Initially, they demanded around £1.8million for his talents. But his contract was cancelled by mutual consent, and he is now available as a free agent.
      WHAT’S NEXT?
      Chelsea are said to be one of four Premier League clubs who have made offers to Mbuyamba.
      Real Madrid, Juventus and other European giants are also monitoring the situation.

      This is extremely harsh. For all of his excesses and tantrums, as a player there is no doubt that he is more sinned against than sinning.
