He’s deputy Prime Minister of his native United Arab Emirates, minister of presidential affairs, as well as member of the ruling family of Abu Dhabi.
The 47-year-old Sheikh is even buddies with Richard Branson, owning a large stake in the British entrepreneur’s Virgin Galactic spaceship company.
And if that’s not enough, his Premier League team are bossing English football at the moment.
They could even add a Champions League crown to their trophy cabinet this season, which would make Mansour’s investment seem sound.

But who is Mansour and what does he spend his money on?
Let us invite you into his world of wealth, including a £400m yacht he let one of Hollywood’s biggest movie stars borrow. His football teams…
When you’re a billionaire, buying into sports franchises is the done thing.
In 2008 Sheikh Mansour bought Man City with his Abu Dhabi United Group for £210m and has ensured The Citizens buy the best talent in the world.

But the Sheikh is a shrewd businessman and doesn’t throw his money away that easy.
In fact, the day City signed Gareth Barry for £12m from Aston Villa, he also made a $1.4bn profit selling a stake in Barclays he bought months earlier.
Mansour launched a second team in the MLS in New York in 2013, luring Frank Lampard and David Villa to New York City F.C.
And he expanded his City Football Group portfolio and owns stakes in clubs in the United States, Australia, India, Japan, Spain, Uruguay, China, Belgium and France

The fifth largest super yacht in the world, it’s an absolute BEAST. Named Topaz, the vessel is a 482ft and was custom-built in Germany by Lurssen Yachts and designed by Tim Heywood in 2012.
It has 8 floors, two helipads, three swimming pools, a gym, jacuzzi and even a cinema.

Right before Brazil kicked off their 2014 World Cup campaign, Leo DiCaprio was spotted hosting a party for 21 of his pals on the Topaz.
Mansour loaned it to the Oscar-winning actor who soaked up the carnival atmosphere in Sao Paulo with his mates.
Now, that’s not a bad number to have on speed-dial.

It was also once reported that Mansour had to refuel his yacht when he docked at Marmaris port in Turkey.
It was said to have cost him £380,000 to fill up the 730,000 litre tank, and that took 5 hours! His cars…

His £91m investment worked, and ever since 2009 the world’s leading drivers have gone to Abu Dhabi for their annual grand prix.

    The mansions…
Being a member of the Abu Dhabi royal family allows you certain privileges, including your own palace.
Sheikh Mansour is part of the Al Nahyan family, who have a huge residence in the city.

Private functions for political leaders, including Barack Obama have been organised there.
Back in 2016, Mansour reportedly snapped up a £42m 20,000 acre Spanish villa in south west Spain.

The private property, called Los Quintos de San Martin, is near the small village of Valencia de las Torres.
Mansour and his family have been known to stay at the hotel they own called The Emirates Palace.

Opened in 2005 for a cost of £2.2m, it’s been described as the world’s only real 7-star hotel.
There are 394 rooms, including 92 suites and 22 residential suits, which are mostly furnished in gold and marble.
Sheikh Mansour has his own penthouse suite in the Emirates Palace
Mansour is said to take advantage of the penthouse floor, which boasts 6 Rulers’ Suites that are reserved exclusively for dignitaries.
Fun fact; the Fast and Furious 7 film was partly shot there too.
The rooms in the Emirates Palace boast real gold features and lots of marble
    His other interests…
Nice homes, cars, hotels and football aren’t the only things that make Mansour tick.
Educated at Santa Barbara College in California, USA, he has investments in around 50 companies worldwide.

One of his ventures includes the commercial spacecraft group, Virgin Galactic with Richard Branson.
He is also chairman of the Emirates Horse Racing Authority, boss of Sky News Arabia and patron of the Zayed Annual Half Marathon.

    Getting personal…
The Sheikh keeps his personal life… well, personal.
But we do know he has two wives and 6 children.
He first married Sheikha Alia bint Mohammed bin Butti Al Hamed in the mid-1990s. They had one son together.
Mansour then married Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, his second cousin once removed.
She’s a powerful women in her own right, being president of the Dubai Women Establishment.
She has two daughters and three sons by Mansour.
    And one more thing…
Manchester City look safe with Sheikh Mansour at the helmCredit: AFP or licensors
If you think having around £17bn in your bank account isn’t bad – wait till you hear how much he stands to inherit.
The Al Nahyan  family’s wealth is believed to be worth somewhere in the region of £560bn.

However, that said, it’s an inheritance he must share with his 5-full brothers.
But you have to imagine with Mansour at the helm Man City’s future certainly looks rosy.

Man City £9m signing Kayky, 17, is ‘next Neymar’ with pace, skills and goals from Fluminense’s famed academy

IN Man City’s case, they want their Kayky and eat it.The Premier League leaders have completed a deal for the Brazilian wonderkid, 17, in what is seen as a major coup by Pep Guardiola’s side – said to be for a fee of £9million
Teen wonderkid Kayky has been called ‘next Neymar’ and has signed for Man City
A product of the Fluminense academy, which has produced the likes of Real Madrid legend Marcelo, Liverpool midfielder Fabinho and Manchester United full-backs Rafael and Fabio – big things are expected of Kayky.
Dubbed the ‘next Neymar’ in his homeland, the forward is blessed with pace and close-control.
It’s no wonder Pep Guardiola added him to City’s ranks to bolster their attack with Sergio Aguero set to leave at the end of the season.
    READY FOR CARNIVAL
At the age of eight, Rio-raised Kayky boasted skills that he believed would set him up perfectly in the Futsal world – a five-a-side game played on a hard court indoors.
However, he fluffed an audition with Fluminense and joined the Mangueira samba school – better known for supplying acts to the Rio Carnival than their footballing prowess.
Later, and ironically, he was rediscovered by scouts at Fluminense while there playing in their kids’ team.
They saw enough in a Mangueira defeat to offer Kayky a place in their prestigious youth set-up.

Over recent years, Fluminense have a rich history of bringing through youngsters and selling them on to stay affloat.
But it’s their current “dream generation” which has fans purring.
    BRAZILIAN DOUBLE-ACT
Along with Kayky, City are also said to be interested in bringing Metinho to the club from Fluminense.
The pair were an integral part of the team that won the U17 Brazilian championship last year, and finished runners-up in the U17 Copa de Brazil.
On a personal note, Kayky was top scorer in the Brasileirao Under-17 Championship.

Every goal scored is dedicated to his father Demir with a moustache celebration.
    GENERATIONAL TALENT
With an ability to frighten his full-back through trickery and his pace, Kayky has drawn comparisons to Neymar, albeit a left-footed one.
He plays mostly on the right, where he cuts in and drives towards the opposition’s defence.
And he also has an eye for goal, as proven by his scoring stats last season.
“Kayky is a player who stands out a lot for his technical quality, especially with regard to one-on-ones, and also in his quality in front of goal,” Fluminense’s U17 coach, Guilherme Torres, told Goal.
On a personal note Kayky was top scorer in the Brazilian U17 championshipCredit: Instagram

“He is also very intelligent, searches for empty spaces on the field and has a good ability to provide assists for his team-mates.
“In addition, he has a winning, competitive mentality, which is important for a high-level player.
“His resilience has grown as he has matured, and he is learning how to deal with adversity.”
Kayky will need all of that resilience if he is to become a success in the Premier League, where talent alone doesn’t get you to the top.

Man Utd coach Martyn Pert studied accountancy, worked with Shaq O’Neal and his analysis was called ‘brilliant’ by Bielsa

MANCHESTER UNITED are heading in the right direction.Second in the league and semi-finalists in the Europa League, the Red Devils are continuing to improve as they ultimately look to win the Premier League title for the first time since 2013.

One person who has helped get the likes of Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes match-ready is Martyn Pert, who arrived at Old Trafford in 2019.
The strength and conditioning specialist, 43, was name-checked by manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, after he joined the club from MLS side Vancouver Whitecaps.
After a failed playing career, Pert trained to be an accountant but jacked it in to follow his football dream.
He travelled around Europe – watching training sessions and picking up tips, until he scored his first job at Cambridge United.
In his storied journey before he took his first coaching session at Carrington, Pert’s work has been called “brilliant” by Marcelo Bielsa after sending the Argentine an analysis report.
He also worked with basketball legend Shaquille O’Neal.
    ‘THIS AIN’T FOR ME’
Pert played in the same youth team with Danny Mills and Craig Bellamy at Norwich, but when that didn’t work out he enrolled on a management accountancy course at Loughborough University.
However, ringing in his ears was his grandad’s advice that he should enjoy whatever he does with enthusiasm.
Not enthralled by number crunching, he told his mates he wanted to become a football manager.
Pert studied to be an accountant before he got into footballCredit: PA
“My mates laughed when I told them,” Pert told Training Ground Guru.
“They wanted to work for Goldman Sachs and Price Waterhouse Cooper. But I can remember my grandad getting me my first tactics book at 13 and my mum saying I was already picking teams from that age.”
    KEEN TO LEARN
Persistent Pert wrote to clubs all around Europe to see first-hand how training sessions are done.
Eventually, he was invited by Brondby, Ajax, Heerenveen, Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich and AC Milan to study their drills.
He saved money, got in his Ford Fiesta and drove around Europe for 16 weeks.
“I was in a tent, going to the clubs in the day before coming back at night. I met the youth team director at Bayern Munich, sat down in his office,” he said.
“He was genuinely excited I was there. I met Franco Baresi in Italy – we sat down for a coffee.”

    BACK TO SQUARE ONE
Ambitious Pert completed his B Licence at 23 and his A Licence at 24.
He then scored a job as Cambridge United U14 coach, after the brother of his youth coach at Norwich, Dan Ashworth had taken over as youth development officer at the club.
Pert formed a close relationship with Aidy Boothroyd at Cambridge, who took him to West Brom full-time.
But when Boothroyd left for Leeds, and budget cuts were made, he was out of a job and had to think on his feet.
Just like he did before, he decided travelling would be his best bet.
With a £7,000 pay-off from West Brom, Pert booked a flight into Montreal and a return out of Rio de Janeiro.

    FEELING THE HEAT
During his world tour, Pert managed to secure three months work with the Miami Heat.
He shadowed strength and conditioning coach Bill Foran, while watching legendary NBA coach Pat Riley manage stars like Shaquille O’Neal and Dwayne Wade.
Pert revealed: “I was picking up water bottles, watching Pat Riley, sucking it all up. I’d do anything just to be around and pick up the messages Pat was giving to the players.
“They had some stars – Dwyane Wade, Shaquille O’Neal – but no matter how much money they made, Pat still had an authority over them. They had big respect for him.”

    TRIP TO SEE BIELSA
Pert followed pal Boothroyd to Watford in 2005, and helped get the club promoted.
However, when Boothroyd was fired, Brendan Rodgers came in and hired his own team.
Pert rejoined his friend at Coventry City, briefly, as assistant manager. It lasted just six months, until again they were let go.
Waiting for the phone to ring, he downloaded all of Chile’s games at the 2010 World Cup and sent his analysis on how they played to Athletic Bilbao, where Marcelo Bielsa was manager.
“I didn’t expect too much but he wrote back to me and said, ‘brilliant’”.
Years later, Bielsa would invite Pert round to his home to discuss the beautiful game.
Pert sent his notes to Bielsa at Athletic Bilbao and the Argentine responded with a letter before inviting him round to his homeCredit: Getty
“A few years later, when I was the assistant at Vancouver White Caps, I was in Buenos Aires with Robbo (manager Carl Robinson) and I got up at 5am and drove to Rosario, which is three and a half hours away, to meet Marcelo Bielsa in his house,” Pert continued.
“He talked football to me for three or four hours and was genuinely humble and interested I had driven all that way to meet him and listen to him talk about football.”
    THE DREAM JOB
Today, Pert is shaping Manchester United’s first team – after taking assistant manager jobs as far as Bahrain (2012-13), Cardiff City (2013-14), and Vancouver Whitecaps, where he spent four years until 2018.
On his travels, he also picked up different languages, most notably Portuguese which has helped him communicate in training with Fred and Fernandes.
And Pert was given a name check earlier on this campaign by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, when the Norwegian praised his assistant’s work in helping to improve Fred’s form.

“He [Fred] struggled with the language last season, and to be honest I would not have expected that to be a problem when he came in because Jose was the manager, so he probably communicated with him really well.
“One of our coaches, Martyn Pert, has come in from Vancouver Whitecaps in the MLS and he is fluent in Portuguese, so it’s easier for Fred to communicate with us all now.”
Coach, strength and fitness conditioner, and now translator… is there anything Pert can’t do?

Ex-Man Utd star Tevez’s one last stab at Copa Libertadores, while Chelsea pair Poyet and Crespo begin management trail

THERE is still an option for those who want to see Barcelona take part in a continental competition that they have actually qualified for – South America’s Copa Libertadores. This week, the group phase got underway with Barcelona – of Ecuador – winning 2-0 against Santos.
Carlos Garces celebrates scoring for Barcelona of Ecuador in the 2-0 Copa Libertadores win over SantosCredit: AP
The club, from the port city of Guayaquil, were formed by immigrants from Catalonia and are one of the traditional big teams in their country.
As recently as 2017 they were semi finalists in the Copa Libertadores, South America’s Champions League, and they go into this year’s competition with realistic hopes of making serious progress.
And so do many of the other 31 teams in the field.
This is one of the big differences between the premier competitions on both sides of the Atlantic.
Europe’s Champions League has the star players and undoubted quality. But that comes with a certain predictability – which, of course, would have only been enhanced by the prospect of a Super League.
Dreams are more possible in the Libertadores, where the scope for surprises is much bigger.
Almost half of the teams in the group stage have already won the trophy, while others have come close and aim to come closer still.
There is a glorious unpredictability to the action, which may well attract those who are disillusioned by current events in Europe.
There are also lots of little reasons for Premier League fans to have a look at the Libertadores. Some familiar old names are in action, especially on the touchline.
Former Southampton boss (and Liverpool player and coach) Mauricio Pellegrino is back in his native Argentina in charge of a talented young Velez Sarsfield side who were edged out by Flamengo 3-2 on Wednesday.

Gus Poyet recently took charge of Universidad Catolica in ChileCredit: EPA
Another former Chelsea player, Argentine centre forward Hernan Crespo, is in the early stages of what looks to be a very promising career.
He won the last Copa Sudamericana, the Europa League equivalent, with little Defensa y Justicia, and has since moved north to Brazil to take charge of Sao Paulo.
His team played out a 1-1 draw with Independiente dell Valle on Thursday.
And there is another Chelsea connection, with Gus Poyet recently taking charge of Universidad Catolica in Chile. His team began their campaign on Thursday with a trip to Colombia where they lost to a highly impressive Atletico Nacional 2-0.
The Libertadores features famous old names coming to the end of their playing days – Carlos Tevez made his name winning the Libertadores with Boca Juniors in 2003.
This might be the last chance he has to book end his career with a second lap of honour.
Ex-Man Utd star Carlos Tevez has one last stab at winning the Copa Libertadores with Boca Juniors before he hangs up his bootsCredit: AFP

And there are new faces on the way up. One of the stand outs last year was Ecuadorian midfielder Moises Caicedo, who was subsequently snapped up by Brighton.
The group phase is played for six straight, unrelenting weeks.
There is the chance, then, for those who are new to the tournament to have a crash course in one of the world’s leading football competitions.

Man Utd target Eduardo Quaresma, 19, is relative of Zico and talented defender at Sporting Lisbon with £41m price tag

YOU’LL never get past ‘Speed Wall’.That’s the nickname Sporting Lisbon fans have given rising star Eduardo Quaresma, who has emerged onto the scene this season.

The talented centre back, 19, is a distant relative of Brazil legend Zico.
And his all-action displays since making his debut in 2020 have alerted a number of Europe’s top clubs to the next top talent to come out of Portugal.
Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool, Juventus, Inter and Atletico Madrid have all been linked with moves for Quaresma.
Last year, AC Milan were unsuccessful with a bid of around £5million plus Uruguay left-back Diego Laxalt for the wonderkid.
However, now clubs who want him will have to pay much more – since he signed a new contract with Sporting that’s set his release clause at a whopping £41million.
    EARLY STARTER
Born in Portugal, Quaresma began playing football at the tender age of three with lower league club G.D. Fabril.
By six, Sporting discovered him and he worked his way through the ranks – with his leadership qualities praised by his coaches.
At schoolboy level, Quaresma captained both Sporting and Portugal until he was invited to join the first team in 2019.

Quaresma was an early starter playing football by the age of threeCredit: Instagram @eduardo_edu_72
It was during preseason in the 2019-20 campaign that he really began to turn heads.
His performances saw him promoted to the U23’s indefinitely, and the 6ft 1in centre back was a regular until the Covid-19-enforced break halted youth football.
But, senior coaches had seen enough to be convinced Quaresma was ready for a crack at the first team.
    NEW REGIME
The arrival of coach Ruben Amorim, 36, back in March saw Quaresma’s pathway to the first team mapped out.
Keen to promote talent from a famed academy that has produced the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Luis Figo, Joao Moutinho and Ricardo Quaresma (no relation), several youngsters were handed their opportunity.
Sporting Lisbon have a rich history of producing talent and Quaresma is next off the conveyor beltCredit: Getty
Quaresma made his debut in 2020 and has become one of the first names on the team-sheet ever sinceCredit: Getty
Alongside Nuno Mendes, 18, Joelson Fernandes, 17, and Tiago Tomas, 18, Quaresma was thrust into the first team.
His debut came back in June in a 2-2 draw away to Vitória S.C.
Incredibly, from never making a matchday squad, Quaresma soon became a starter six weeks later playing on the right-hand side of a three-man defence.
    ATTRIBUTES
His biggest attribute, and the clue is in his name, is that he’s blessed with pace.
Although he stands at 6ft 1in, his slight frame means he lacks a bit of physicality to mark a target man.
And he’s not just quick in the sprint. Quaresma reads the game beautifully and is able snuff about danger before it happens.
It would cost clubs £41m to prize Quaresma away from his current contractCredit: Instagram @eduardo_edu_72
Quaresma has been praised for his distribution from the backCredit: Getty

As is the norm with most centre backs today, he is also comfortable bringing the ball out from the back,
Sporting have high hopes that they will be able to keep Quaresma for the long term, but money talks.
It might be soon that this Lisbon cub grows into a lion elsewhere.

BRENTFORD star Ivan Toney has shown he’s just as eager to assist as he is to score goals. The 25-year-old striker, who has been linked with Arsenal, has set up a GoFundMe page for the people of St Vincent – the Caribbean island devastated by the eruption of the La Soufrière volcano.

Toney, leading the Championship goalscoring charts with 29 goals, has close ties to St Vincent, with both his parents and grandparents being born there.
The fierce forward kicked off the fundraiser with his own donation of £7,500.
And some of his Brentford team-mates, including Sergi Canos, have chipped in.
So far he has raised over £23,000 – with a goal of raising £50,000.
    AN AWFUL TRAGEDY
On April 9, the La Soufrière volcano began erupting for the first time in 42 years.
Over 20,000 people were reportedly evacuated from their homes – leaving many of the 110,000 residents of St Vincent without power or running water.
The violent eruptions have blanketed the picturesque island with ash said to be a metre deep in some areas, contaminating water supplies.

“The lives and livelihoods of our people have been terribly affected,” Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves said.
”We are in a dire situation, frankly.”
The United Nations launched a humanitarian appeal for £21million on Tuesday to aid the most vulnerable with basic needs, including clean water, food and shelter, as well as to help initiate recovery.
And Toney himself, who has visited the island on numerous occasions to see family and friends, is doing his bit.
    ‘I WANT TO HELP’
The hotshot is determined to raise funds – with his parents and grandparents all hailing from St Vincent.

Toney’s parents and family are from St Vincent and he still has friends on the island
“St Vincent is an island incredibly close to mine and my family’s hearts,” Ivan said.
“My father’s parents, my grandparents, were both born on Saint Vincent, and are both now buried there in Georgetown, which is one of the towns categorised as being within the Red Zone – a place considered at the highest risk.
“We still have close family and friends who live on the island and as a family, we have visited many times throughout my life.
“I want to help as much as I possibly can and I would love and greatly appreciate your support in doing so, by joining me in providing a donation, no matter how big or small.”
All money raised will directly help those who need it the most on Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, by working closely with local charities and organisations situated on the islands.

He added: “I thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading this. With your kind donations, I really hope that we can help and support as many people directly affected by this tragic event as possible.”
