    Who is Martin Brundle?
Martin John Brundle was born on June 1, 1959 in King’s Lynn, Norfolk, England.
He began his racing career at the tender age of 12, competing in grass track racing, moving on to Hot Rod racing, touring cars and the British Saloon Car Championship before stepping up to Formula 3 in 1982.
The following season Martin competed against Ayrton Senna for the Formula Three Championship, which he lost to the Brazilian in the closing laps of the final race.
Brundle’s Formula One career started the next year with Tyrell, who he raced for between 1984 and 1986.

    In F1 he also raced for Zakspeed (1987), Williams (1988 — one grand prix), Brabham (1989, 1991) Benetton (1992), Ligier (1993, 1995), McLaren (1994), and Jordan (1996).
He is considered one of the best F1 drivers to to have never won a grand prix, achieving numerous podium finishes in inferior cars.
Martin was the World Sportscar champion in 1988 and won Le Mans 24 Hours in 1990, cementing his place in history as a racing driver.
Since hanging up his racing gloves, Brundle has commentated on F1 for ITV, the BBC and Sky Sports.

He won the Royal Television Society programme award for best sports pundit in 1998, 1999, 2005 and 2006.
What are some of Martin Brundle’s most famous gridwalk moments?
The former McLaren ace has been walking the grid trying to get interviews with drivers and celebrities pre-race since 1997.
But the 62-year-old has admitted he doesn’t like doing the gridwalk at all.
He said on X, formerly Twitter: “There’s a reason why I’ve never watched back an F1 gridwalk in a quarter of a century of doing them.
“You have no idea how much I dislike doing them but somehow those crazy moments have defined my professional career.
“Oh well, that’s the way it is.”
Here we take a look at some of his most memorable gridwalk moments:
    US Grand Prix 2021
The Sky Sports reporter wanted to have a chat with special guest Megan Thee Stallion on the grid, but was initially confronted by a ‘man mountain’ — only for Megan to lightheartedly slap her security guard on the wrist.
Brundle muttered, “That’s a very big bloke in front of her,” before asking: “Megan, Martin Brundle from British television, how are you? Megan Thee Stallion, you’re a freestyle rapper, have you got any rap for us today on Formula One?”
The American star laughed as she admitted: “I have no rap today, I’m sorry.
But the interview swiftly concluded when ‘Draco Malfoy’ appeared — with the irritable blond shoving Brundle away.
The Malfoy lookalike scowled at the reporter as he led Megan away.
In his Sky Sports column, Brundle laughed off the incident.
He wrote: “I did chuckle on Monday.
“After all the blood, sweat, tears and broken bones, the glorious victories and dismal failures, the monstrous crashes, the quadruple stints on a treacherous rainy night in Le Mans, guiding a 1250 bhp flying bedsted through Monaco qualifying, along with 25 years of broadcasting, I’ve finally become mildly well known for being ignored by celebrities whilst simultaneously being swatted to one side by a man mountain and told off by a Malfoy lookalike doubtless attending his first F1 race.
“My gridwalk return after two years was probably a bit too cheeky in Austin but nonetheless a lot of fun.
“Actually, my real claim to fame is that I once played snooker with Mark Knopfler, and what a lovely bloke he was too.”
    US Grand Prix 2022
The F1 pundit tried and failed to chat to the Hollywood actor during his traditional pre-race walk before lights out at the US Grand Prix in Austin, Texas.
But Pitt awkwardly rebuffed Brundle, much to the disappointment of F1 fans.
The 64-year-old revealed Pitt had been in contact with him since their run-in.
He tweeted: “Got a note from Brad Pitt explaining what happened with our near miss on the Austin grid.
“Unnecessary, but nice of him. Absolutely nobody is obliged to talk to me on the grid, but as I endeavour to make 10/12 minutes of live and unscripted sports TV I’m obliged to at least ask.”
    Miami Grand Prix 2022
At the inaugural Miami GP, Brundle delivered one of the most chaotic gridwalks yet.
The popular F1 pundit brushed shoulders with the likes of DJ Khaled and Britain’s own David Beckham.
But Brundle struggled with some of the lesser names on the grid.
He mistook basketballer Paolo Banchero for NFL superstar Patrick Mahomes, which to viewers was both “incredibly awkward and hysterically funny”.
    British Grand Prix 2023
Cara Delevingne appeared to be unaware of Brundle’s gridwalk authority and brutally snubbed the former F1 driver as he attempted to grab an interview.
He began by talking to a member of Delevingne’s entourage and said: “She doesn’t want to talk but everybody needs to talk on the grid.
“That’s the deal now, everybody talks on the grid.”
He then approached Delevingne and said: “Can we have a quick chat, [for] Sky F1? Good to see you on the grid.”
To which Delevingne replied: “No.” and looked awkwardly at her entourage.
Delevingne refused again and Brundle reiterated: “The deal is everybody has to speak on the grid.”
She then said: “I can’t hear anything, I’m so sorry.”
Brundle then said sarcastically as he walked away: “I’m sure it would have been extremely interesting.”
What is Martin Brundle’s net worth?
According to CelebrityNetWorth, Martin is worth a mouth-watering $100million (£82.3million).

Brundle amassed his fortune as a successful racing driver, competing in multiple forms of motorsport.

Son of Premier League icon and Sky Sports favourite now following in his footsteps and League One club have ‘high hopes’

JAMIE CARRAGHER’S son continues to go from strength-to-strength as he looks to forge his own footballing legacy.Despite their relegation to League One last season, Wigan Athletic secured the future of the highly-rated 20-year-old James Carragher.

He penned a new contract at the DW Stadium to tie him to the club until at least 2025.
And he continues to show that following in the footsteps of his legendary father is no issue.
Liverpool icon Carragher, 45, spent his entire career at Anfield and made 737 appearances for them – second only to Ian Callaghan in the all-time standings.
He played in the infamous Istanbul comeback against AC Milan that secured the Champions League trophy in 2005.

And he also won the FA Cup twice, the League Cup three times, the Uefa Super Cup two times and the Uefa Cup during his career.
These days Carragher is one of the most-popular and recognisable pundits in the business and star of Sky Sports Monday Night Football alongside ex-Manchester United ace Gary Neville.
Meanwhile, his son James left Liverpool’s academy for Wigan aged 14 and went on to captain their U18 side to two Professional Development League North titles.
He turned pro in 2021 and then made his senior debut that August against Hull City in the Carabao Cup.

James made several more outings in the EFL Trophy that campaign before gaining more experience last term after scoring in a pre-season victory over a Liverpool XI.
He had another appearance in the Carabao Cup before heading out to National League side Oldham Athletic on loan.
Sadly, he made just five appearances before that spell was cut short through injury but Wigan’s academy manager has seen more than enough to admit he has “high hopes” for the starlet.
After his contract extension was announced in the summer, Gregor Rioc said: “We are absolutely delighted to have James extend his stay with Wigan Athletic.
“He has progressed brilliantly throughout his time in our Academy, and has made a number of first-team appearances following his debut in August 2021.
“James has spent time out on loan with Oldham Athletic, which was a great experience for him.
“We are really excited for James to return from his injury, and we have really high hopes for him in the future.
“James is only going to keep improving, and we’re pleased that he will continue his development with us in the years to come.”
Those thoughts were echoed by first-team boss Shaun Maloney, who added: “James is a talented young central defender who has a great future ahead of him.”
James is yet to make an appearance for Wigan in League One so far this season, but his dad could not have been more pleased to see his boy pen a new deal.

He shared a snap of himself alongside his son signing the contract and captioned it with: “Delighted @jcarragher31 has signed a new two year deal @laticsofficial.
“He’s had to show a lot of mental strength these last few months, which will hold him in good stead for a career in football. Very proud of you son.”

Fans only just realising Sky Sports are showing not-so Super Sunday with ‘horrendous’ fixture after international break

FANS have slammed this weekend’s “not-so Super Sunday” with just one match on show. The Premier League makes a much-needed return after the international break and there are eight games kicking-off on Saturday.
Fans have been left underwhelmed by this weekend’s Super SundayCredit: sky sports
Supporters were hoping for the usual two on Sunday but only West Ham’s trip to Aston Villa is live on Sky Sports.
The weekend’s worth of football is complete on Monday night as Tottenham welcome Fulham.
Fans have been left underwhelmed by Sunday’s single game offering, one said: “Coming off an international break and all we’ve got is Aston Villa vs West Ham at 4:30pm. Horrendous.”
Another suggested what they wanted to see, adding: “Who the f*** decided there would be one game this Sunday and it would be Villa vs West Ham whilst Man City vs Brighton is Saturday 3pm.”

A third reacted: “Fix Super Sunday. We’ve gone from three games to one.”

The reason for the single showing on Super Sunday is because Sky Sports are broadcasting two games on Saturday night.
Fans have a double-header to get stuck into with Chelsea against Arsenalat 5:30pm, which is followed straight up by Manchester United’s trip to Sheffield United at 8pm.
Meanwhile, TNT Sports’ usual 12:30pm slot is the Merseyside derby between Liverpool and Everton.

Major competition risks disappearing from TV screens as officials confirm ZERO bids for broadcasting rights

THE French Professional Football League is at risk of disappearing from TV screens as they received zero bids for broadcasting rights.Officials confirmed on Tuesday, that French football’s TV presence is under threat as no one wants to pay the £693million annual fee to stream Ligue 1 and 2 games.

The Professional Football League’s (LFP) longest-standing broadcast partner Canal Plus failed to make an offer for the 2024-29 cycle on Monday.
This forced Ligue 1 to launch the bid on Tuesday without the French TV giants in the hope they can sell the Ligue 1 broadcast rights.
Five bundles were on offer, including the two main bundles for the rights to broadcast games live.
One bundle was worth £459million and included the two biggest matches of the game week plus the fourth-choice fixture.

While the second was worth was worth £234 million to stream the rest of the matches that are not shown by other broadcasters.
However, there were no takers for the current price including Canal Plus, meaning LFP will have to negotiate directly with them and other interested TV services, according to L’Equipe.
LFP officials said: “After having received multiple qualitative offers and guaranteed financial packages on all of the bundles (1-5).
“LFP Media reveals that none of the bundles have been attributed today (Tuesday).

“As a result, LFP Media is continuing its commercialisation process of the rights to Ligue 1 and postpones the call for candidates for Ligue 2.”
The call for tenders for Ligue 2 rights, was initially scheduled for Thursday 19th and Friday 20th October.
Canal Plus has shown top-flight football in France since the pay TV service launched in 1984.
However, the broadcaster has been in conflict with the LFP since 2020 due to a potential record deal with Spanish company Mediapro.
The bid process for the LFP also came at a stressful time in French football.
As the recent departures of football icons Lionel Messi and Neymar from Paris Saint-Germain have hindered LFP’s chance of boosting the price for TV rights.
And with uncertainty over Kylian Mbappe’s future in the French capital, Ligue 1 will most need to opt for a modest sum of money to seal a deal.
The relationship between Canal Plus and French football is similar to that between Sky Sports and the Premier League.
In comparison, to the mega-rich Premier League, they sold their three-year cycle broadcast rights for more than £10billion for the 2022-25 cycle.

I worked in a pet shop and Sports Direct – now I’m one of the UK’s best commentators working for ITV and Sky Sports

BECOMING a football commentator is no easy feat, as Seb Hutchinson can attest.Fans may recognise Hutchinson’s voice when they tune in to watch ITV or Sky Sports.
Seb Hutchinson is one of the UK’s best commentators
He has worked for Sky Sports and ITV
The 39-year-old worked across both the men’s and women’s World Cups and was the lead commentator on the latter.
His portfolio also features work on the Rugby World Cup and Olympic Games, as well as a total of FOUR World Cups.
He also features across Sky’s Premier League, League Cup and Women’s Super League coverage, with his voice work being heard over Manchester United’s dramatic 2-1 win over Brentford.
But Hutchinson, who hails from east London, has now revealed the inspirational story it took him to get there.
    READ MORE IN FOOTBALL
Speaking to The Athletic as part of their series on UK Black History Month, Hutchinson revealed how he got started in the industry and the daring leaps he had to make in order to fulfil his dream.
He said: “I was a producer for ITV. Then I said, ‘I need to focus on my commentary.’ It was always ticking away at the back of my mind.
“Being a producer was great, but I needed to follow my childhood dream. I went freelance; which was a massive risk, but I was young, had no responsibility, so I was able to do it.
“Some people felt I was making a silly decision but I didn’t feel that way. I was confident in my ability to get work.”

Hutchinson had been telling friends and family about the dream he held of becoming a sports commentator since he was 10 years old, but admitted he received little help from career advisers in school.
Even Hutchinson’s footballing father Ray – who starred in Leyton Orient’s academy before an injury-ravaged career saw him become a coach – was unable to provide much assistance.
However, the splitting up of his parents pushed him even harder to achieve this dream.
Prior to heading to Staffordshire University – where he graduated from in 2009 – for a sports journalism course, Hutchinson had held down jobs at a pet store, at Sports Direct and as a security guard.
He said: “When my parents split up, that pushed me even more. I did a sports journalism course at Staffordshire University and that helped me get closer to the industry.
“From that, I sent out 20 letters asking people for a job, but only three got back to me — a club TV channel, ITV and BBC Sport regional.
“The people who rejected me would often say, ‘We don’t have this position available’.
“You could look at that in two ways: one, they’re lying to me, or they actually don’t have that position available. But I started to adopt the mindset that they’re just not ready for me.”
Hutchinson revealed to The Voice in 2021 he has drawn inspiration from stars he watched and listened to such as Frank Bruno, Linford Christie, Harry Carpenter, Brian Moore and David Coleman.
Being a producer was great, but I needed to follow my childhood dream. I went freelance; which was a massive risk. But I was confident in my ability to get work.Seb HutchinsonThe Athletic
Despite now throwing his weight around with the big boys of commentary, Hutchinson remains diligent in his pre-match preparation, arriving at the stadium three hours early.
He said to The Athletic: “Voice is the one of most important things. My style might not be for everyone but the way I look at it is, it’s not about accent, it’s about delivery.
“When my family and close friends heard me on TV for the first time, they said, ‘I knew you’d do it’. I looked up to Brian Moore, because he kept it simple but had emotion in his voice. That’s how I try to be.
“The last game I did was Manchester United against Brentford. You’re coming towards the end of a game like that and you have to think about the bigger picture.
“Scott McTominay scoring twice would’ve felt big for Manchester United.
“People talk about ‘Fergie Time’ but that day was (when United honoured) the passing of Sir Alex Ferguson’s wife, so I thought, ‘It’s not the right moment to talk about Sir Alex.’ You have to be sensitive to certain things.”
In a similar vein to Alex Scott for women’s representation, Hutchinson can be considered somewhat of a trailblazer in the sports journalism industry as one of few the black commentators in the UK.
But Hutchinson admits it was never his explicit intention to be one, and was rather just focused on making his dream a reality.
He added: “I never looked at it as trying to be the first Black commentator. I look at the England team and the players in the Premier League and a good majority are Black.

“My mind goes back to university days, when there were hardly any Black people, but I felt comfortable and I didn’t feel out of place.
“I guess my mindset comes from my parents, because they always made me believe in myself. They didn’t stop me from pursuing my dreams.” More
