However, Klopp was fuming after the Premier League showdown was picked for the 12:30pm TV slot.
This will be the third-straight time Liverpool are in the early kick-off straight after an international break.
Both the Reds and City had South American internationals involved in World Cup qualifiers for the likes of Brazil and Argentina just over 72 hours before the game gets underway.
Klopp did not hold back as he blasted TV companies and Premier League chiefs over the scheduling of the bumper clash – despite recent fan troubles during previous fixtures between the pair being cited for the early start.

And the former Borussia Dortmund coach decided to jokingly take matters into his own hands when he spotted Sky Sports’ Vinny O’Connor at their training ground during this morning’s session.
Klopp grabbed the reporter in a playful headlock before delivering a soft jab to his gut and said: “Thank you for the 12.30!”
The clip was then shared by the broadcaster later in the day as O’Connor joked that Klopp was in a “playful mood” before adding: “There was one little moment that was a potential red card, I would argue!”
Sky Sports requested that the game kick-off at 5:30pm, only for that to be rejected by police.

That led to them and TNT Sports, who are screening Brentford versus Arsenal, swapping slots with their chosen game now taking the tea time slot after the TV companies swapped.
Manchester City go into the Liverpool game sitting top of the table on 28 points, a point ahead of the second-placed Merseysiders.
But Klopp’s men will overtake them with victory, although Arsenal could end the day top should they win and City and Liverpool draw. More

Sky Sports ‘ready to use pre-recorded crowd noise’ to drown out Everton’s X-rated protest chant in Man Utd clash

SKY SPORTS could use pre-recorded crowd noise to block out an X-rated chant from Everton fans against Manchester United on Sunday.Home supporters will protest at the club’s ten-point deduction by blasting “Premier League corrupt as f***” in the tenth minute of the live TV game.

The Times say Sky will act to drown out any offensive language – to make sure their coverage sticks within broadcast guidelines.
That could include using noise already recorded – a tactic deployed during the Covid lockdown.
At that time, though, it became an interactive choice for TV viewers, rather than enforced.
The other option back then was to watch the matches from quiet stadiums devoid of supporters with little “atmosphere”.

Now Sky will take action to follow Ofcom rules on not broadcasting bad language, especially at such a family time as Sunday afternoon and well before the 9pm watershed.
Many Everton fans are furious at the club’s ten-point penalty for a single breach of profit and sustainability rules.
They believe the punishment is too stiff, particularly as Manchester City face 115 charges while Chelsea are being investigated over payments in the Roman Abramovich era.
It could even get worse for the Toffees – with the risk of an extra nine-point deduction.
    Most read in Football
The Mail suggest Everton might be hit with a £300million compensation bill – if Burnley, Leicester and Leeds sue the Toffees and win the case.
That could leave new Everton owners 777 partners struggling to pay up.
And if they failed to do so, the Toffees would be put into administration – meaning nine points docked off. More

While red-hot Liverpool are hoping that they can build on a solid 3-0 victory against Brentford that same weekend.
However, fans are confused as the match will be televised in an unusual time slot on Sky Sports.
Why is Man City vs Liverpool on Sky Sports at 12:30pm instead of TNT Sports?
A local safety advisory group – which includes members of the police – were concerned about the prospect of an early evening kick-off when Manchester City face Liverpool.
There have been several issues with fan trouble and behaviour surrounding the fixture in the past, so Premier League chiefs have made the decision to bring the match forward instead.

However, the fixture has now been moved to 5:30pm.
