    Sky Sports legend to make shock return to broadcasting as fans say ‘best way to start the year’

    FANS have been buoyed after broadcasting legend David ‘Bumble’ Lloyd revealed that he is returning to commentary.The former cricketer left Sky Sports two years ago after working for the company between 1999 and 2021.

    Lloyd, 76, is not returning to Sky and will instead be joining talkSPORT for England’s five-Test tour of India.
    The tour is set to start later this month with the opening test taking place at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on January 25.
    Reacting to the announcement by talkSPORT, Lloyd posted: “Chuffed is an understatement! So pleased.”
    The news of Lloyd’s return to commentary has pleased fans as they flocked to social media.

    Sky Sports forced to apologise after Afcon broadcast interrupted by technical fault as fans label coverage ‘a disgrace’

    SKY SPORTS have been forced to apologise for a technical problem during Senegal’s clash with Gambia.Viewers were left without sound during the game, which was being broadcast live from the Ivory Coast.

    The broadcaster was forced to run a banner saying “We’re sorry about the sound problems.”
    Shortly after the sound disapeearing, the picture also gave way.
    A message from the broadcaster flashed up to apologise to fans for their broadcasting error.
    It now appears that coverage of the game has been affected around the world.

    Several fans on Twitter claimed that their broadcast had been affected on BeIn Sport.
    Now French media site Instant Foot are claiming there is a global outage on coverage.
    Florent Houzot, broadcaster from BeIn Sports confirmed the global outage, tweeting: “Sorry technical problem beyond our control which disrupts broadcasting on our antennas our teams are working to re-establish a quality connection and transmission as quickly as possible.”
    Instant Foot claim there is an issue with the satellite tasked with broadcasting the game.

    Sky Sports Main event has now stopped showing the game and is instead airing Sky Sports News.
    Several fans on X (formerly known as Twitter) were left frustrated with the outage.
    One wrote: “This AFCON coverage on Sky Sports is a disgrace!”
    Another sarcastically added: “Sky Sports absolutely smashing the AFCON coverage.”
    While a third said: “Sky sports just gave up with the AFCON coverage.”
    The game is taking place in Yamoussoukro in the Ivory Coast.
    The Group C game is hosted in the Stade Charles Konan Banny de Yamoussoukro, one of the six stadiums built specifically for Afcon 2023.
    The game features several Premier League names from past and present in action.

    EVERTON star James Tarkowski suffered a horror eye injury that had to be glued back together.The 31-year-old came off worse after jumping for an aerial challenge with Ollie Watkins.

    Tarkowski was caught by the Aston Villa man’s trailing arm and fell to the ground.
    Blood began to roll down his face as the medics rushed over to him.
    Sky Sports cameras zoomed in to the stricken centre-back and he appeared to have his wound glued back together.
    Tarkowski soon jumped back to his feet and soldiered on.

    The referee then booked Watkins for his involvement in the injury.
    In the second-half, Tarkowski reappeared with the wound patched up but there remained a large cut on his eyebrow.
    He went down again following a collision with team-mate Vitaliy Mykolenko.
    The Everton duo clashed heads and the left-back felt the most pain.

    Fans poured onto the pitch in protest against the clubs ownership and refused to leave the field of play, forcing the game to be abandoned.
    However, fans were critical of Sky’s Soccer Saturday coverage at the ground after host Simon Thomas described the protests as “tennis balls on the pitch”.
    Soccer Saturday legend Stelling then took to X, formerly known as Twitter, and blasted his former employers Saturday afternoon coverage.
    Stelling said: “When a club which was in PL not long ago is in the position they are in this the biggest story of the day imo (in my opinion).

    “Why [is there] no reporter there? Everyone knew there was going to be a protest!”
    One user called Stelling out for being a former employee “who left but still wants a say in how things are done”.
    However, Stelling replied: “I am not Andy. I am a member of the public with a right to express an opinion.”

    The old-fashioned snaps left fans shocked by their new appearances.
    Former Manchester United captain Keane keeps his stern look in the black and white photo.
    His AI counterpart sits with his legs crossed in a three-piece suit, with fans convinced he looks like he should be foiling 007.

    Meanwhile, Carragher was given flowing locks in the imagined image of himself from 90 years ago.

    The team analysed 214 Premier League pundits and crunched the numbers on the amount of times they were searched stacked up against search for positive terms such as “best analysis”.
    And it will be no surprise to many that Arsenal legend Thierry Henry emerged as the most popular pundit.
    The former France striker has become beloved for his Champions League coverage on CBS Sports alongside Kate Abdo, Micah Richards and Jamie Carragher.
    He also appears as a pundit for Amazon Prime’s Christmas coverage of the Premier League.

    Roy Keane comes in at second, with the nation falling in love with his no-nonsense approach to punditry.
    The former Ireland international recently named smiling as one of the most overrated things in life.
