Sky Sports forced to apologise after Kevin De Bruyne is heard swearing at linesman in Man City’s clash with Spurs

THE Sky Sports commentary team were forced to apologise after Kevin De Bruyne was heard swearing in Manchester City’s loss to Tottenham.
Spurs took an early lead in the match thanks to Heung-Min Son fifth-minute strike.

De Bruyne was head yelling expletives at the linesman

Clearly frustrated with falling behind so early, De Bruyne let his emotions show.
With no fans present and fake crowd noise optional, viewers have been able to hear everything going on in the Premier League this season.
And pitchside monitors in North London picked up De Bruyne yelling expletives at linesman Darren Cann.
The Belgian midfielder was attempting to take a quick corner with Riyad Mahrez but the option was shut down by Tottenham’s Steven Bergwijn.

De Bruyne was then irked when Bergwijn encroached the ten-yard radius from the corner spot.
City’s captain raged at the linesman: “Look where the line is!
“Look where the f***ing line is!”

City thought they had equalised when Aymeric Laporte swept in Gabriel Jesus’ lay-off only for the Brazilian to be penalised for handball following a VAR review.

Spurs struck again just after the hour mark through Giovani Lo Celso and held on to go top of the Premier League.
The result was Manchester City’s second loss of the season, and could see Pep Guardiola’s side drop out of the top half tomorrow.

Watch Roy Keane putting on his own MAKE-UP before Liverpool vs Man City leaving Carragher and Richards in hysterics

MICAH RICHARDS and Jamie Carragher were left in hysterics after catching Roy Keane applying make-up.
The trio were preparing to go live on Sky Sports from the Etihad for Manchester City’s 1-1 draw with Liverpool.

Richards and Carragher could hardly believe their eyes, however, as they caught the miserly Irishman applying his own make-up prior to the broadcast.
And the former quickly whipped out his phone to catch the surreal moment.
Richards, 32, has struck up an unlikely bromance with Keane, 49, since becoming a popular regular on Sky Sports’ Premier League coverage.
And he was howling with laughter as he recorded Keane applying the beauty product.

Through his laughter, Richards asked the Manchester United legend: “What have you got in your hand Roy?”
He replied with a wry smile: “I wish I knew.”
The video also featured Carragher and host Dave Jones struggling to hold back their laughter.
The incident didn’t seem to effect Keane’s punditry, with the ex-midfielder in typically fiery mood.

At half-time of Manchester City vs Liverpool, the scores were level at 1-1 after a breathless half of football.
Having given away a penalty, Kyle Walker found himself the subject of Keane’s ire.
He roared: “Because he’s [Sadio Mane] up against an idiot.
“Kyle Walker… people tell me he’s playing well. I don’t think so.
“This guy is 30 years of age, he’s an international… he’s a car crash.
“He keeps making these types of mistakes – and he’s been rightly punished for it.”

Premier League clubs set for PPV U-turn as country enters second coronavirus lockdown

PREMIER LEAGUE clubs are poised to make a pay-per-view U-turn — because of lockdown.
They have been under pressure to make a decision on what to do with the games not being shown on Sky or BT after the international break.

Premier League games could be broadcast for free again this monthCredit: AFP and licensors

The top flight had been veering towards cutting the controversial £14.95-a-game charge to either £9.95 or £7.50.
But with the country now under lockdown until December 2, Prem bosses are set to suggest the best option would be a short-term return to the Project Restart situation, where all matches were available to fans.
Leicester were the only side to vote against PPV last month but other clubs have now changed their minds following a fan-led backlash.
Under league rules, any decision must be agreed by at least 14 clubs.

But there remain a number of teams, including some of the Big Six, who argue that £14.95 is more than reasonable for a “premium product”.
A final decision is not expected today, as any agreement must be squared with broadcasters.

During the end to the 2019-20 season in June and July, matches were shown on Sky, BT, the BBC and Amazon Prime.
Sky and BT in particular felt that diminished the value of their current deal, which is worth more than £1.7billon per season.

A similar scenario could see clubs hit with a demand for a further repayment on top of the £340million cost of last term’s Covid-19 chaos.

Premier League matches will cost £14.95 on PPV Box Office channels with Man Utd and Chelsea games among first clashes More

Sky Sports set to seal WSL broadcasting rights from rivals BT Sport with deal to be announced in coming weeks

SKY SPORTS are set to nick the Women’s Super League broadcasting rights from rivals BT Sport – with a deal to be announced in the coming weeks.
The broadcaster is said to be on the brink of sealing a contract that kick-starts from the beginning of the 2021-22 season.

Sky Sports are on the brink sealing broadcasting rights for the 2021-22 WSL season

The new deal is yet to be confirmed but SunSport understands that an announcement will be made soon.
For the first time ever, the FA made fixtures available for tenure for the next campaign in a bid to rake in more profit for the women’s game.
This is opposed to previous years in which they were provided for free to the likes of BT Sport and the BBC to cover at their own cost.
It is believed that Sky Sports were attracted to the women’s top-flight after viewing figures in England more than doubled since 2017.

A peak TV audience of 270,000 tuned in to watch Chelsea face off with Spurs in September last year.

And more than two million people tuned in to watch the BBC’s Women’s Football Show after football returned after the coronavirus crisis.
Arsenal snatched the North London bragging rights in front of a record WSL crowd of 38,262 last year at the Tottenham Stadium.
The attendance far outstripped the previous record of 31,213 set at the Etihad for the Manchester derby at the start of the same season.

Eddie Hearn claims Kell Brook and Dominic Ingle dropped him over money as Matchroom boss hits back

EDDIE HEARN has accused Kell Brook of axing him and trainer Dominic Ingle for financial reasons.
The Sheffield welterweight, 32, cut his long-time promoter and coach out of a £2million deal to fight WBO champion Terence Crawford on November 14.

Brook blamed Hearn for Sky Sports turning their back on him and accused the Matchroom boss of being too busy promoting his new book to work on his fight.
Hearn tried to bite his tongue but Brook’s fans piled in on social media — and now the Essex matchmaker has hit back.
He said: “I’ve done a lot with Kell and I thought I was going to rise above it.
“But then I started getting people on Twitter saying, ‘It’s bang out of order what you’ve done to Kell Brook’.

“I have so many problems on my plate right now getting fights for people who are with me and I thought, you know what, I’m going to let you know the truth.
“It wasn’t like they came to me and said, ‘Let’s work a deal’.
“They were whoring themselves to everyone else first. They tried BT, ITV, Channel 5, DAZN . . . I think they tried everybody and got turned down.
“And then they came to me asking for money!”

Brook, along with Darren Barker and Carl Froch, was one of Hearn’s earliest signings.
The promoter always defended his former charge over the ill- discipline that regularly left him struggling to make the 10st 7lb welterweight limit.

People are accusing me of hanging him out to dry — but he’s making £2m to fight Crawford and just didn’t want to pay me
    Eddie Hearn

He said: “What was so  disheartening for me was when he questioned my loyalty. I went way above and beyond trying to help Kell.
“I flew to Fuerteventura when he was in hospital after getting stabbed (right), sorting out all his  medical insurance, lots of things.
“We’ve had some good times and it’s sad really.
“I feel really sorry for Dominic Ingle also because he has done everything for him from day one and they have got a big cash fight and got rid of him for it.

Eddie Hearn says he is ‘gutted’ his relationship with Kell Brook has deteriorated Credit: LAWRENCE LUSTIG
“I don’t think he wasted too much time chasing the Amir Khan fight, I think he wasted too much time away from the gym.
“Lots of times I had to drive up to Sheffield to help keep him on track.
“But now people are accusing me of hanging him out to dry — but he’s making £2m to fight Crawford and just didn’t want to pay me. That’s all.”
Hearn seems genuinely gutted his relationship with Brook has gone down the pan.
But he wished him the best against Crawford, despite worries about lack of a proper game-plan.

Hearn added: “What I will say is, he is on weight. He’s trained hard and he’s fit, but you can’t just be fit to fight Crawford.
“You have to have a game-plan.
“Kell saying, ‘I’ve got one, I’ve been watching Tyson Fury beat Deontay Wilder’ isn’t going to cut it”.

Sky Sports and BT Sport REFUSE to announce amount of pay-per-views sold in first weekend as angry fans turn off

SKY SPORTS and BT Sport have REFUSED to announce the amount of pay-per-views sold during the first weekend of the controversial scheme as angry fans turned off.
The broadcasting giants have both introduced a £14.95 fee for games that would not ordinarily have been televised, starting this weekend.

    2

Sky Sports and BT Sport have refused to release their PPV figures for the opening weekend

Four games were part of the PPV plan over the weekend.
But fuming fans promised to switch off in the build-up to them.
Sky nor BT have failed to release the details of their PPV sales – as supporters raged at the lack of punditry for Chelsea’s 3-3 draw with Southampton.
Manchester United’s 4-1 win over Newcastle was one of the four games on PPV this weekend.

United legend Gary Neville refused to stump up the fee to watch.
And angry supporters in Newcastle opted to give their £15 to local charity, NUFC Fans Food Bank.
On Saturday alone, the charity raked in £12,000, with the weekend total rising to a staggering £19,000.

The generous donations proved fans were more keen to spend their money on a worthwhile cause, rather than a money-making scheme from an already-mega-rich company.

    2

In the weekend’s final PPV match, Burnley will take on West Brom on Monday night – again costing would-be viewers £14.95.
But it’s likely most fans will continue their boycott – with a Change.org petition even being set up, entitled ‘Stop Pay Per View Football’.
Broadcasters felt the need to introduce the £14.95 fee, as clubs had hoped to have at least some fans back inside stadiums by October.
With fan-absence costing clubs an average of £100million per month, officials claimed they could no longer give away their product for free.
Clubs were also forced to pay a rebate to broadcasters at the end of last season due to the coronavirus lockdown.

All matches will be shown on either Sky or BT Sports.

But fans who do not have either platform will have to fork out £14.95 to watch the match.

All proceeds after production costs will be given to the clubs.

    Team News
    Man United
Captain Harry Maguire is a doubt for the clash and United’s boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has said it’s due to knock he picked up.

New signing Edison Cavani will miss the game as he’s self-isolating.

    3

Bruno Fernandes has been given the green light to play despite concerns that his Portugal team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo’s positive coronavirus test would force him into self-isolation too.
    Newcastle
Goalkeeper Martin Dubravka suffered an injury setback and won’t return until December.
Injury doubts Allan Saint-Maximin, Jamaal Lascelles, Jamal Lewis, DeAndre Yedlin, Paul Dummett and Ciaran Clark are all now back in training, but at varying degrees of fitness.
Dwight Gayle and Matt Ritchie are also still sidelined, while Matty Longstaff is not expected to recover in time for this match. More
