Chelsea legend Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink RESIGNS as Burton manager just hours after Sky Sports appearance

CHELSEA legend Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has resigned as Burton Albion manager. The former striker took over at the Pirelli Stadium for his second stint as boss in January 2021, guiding them to safety that season and then to 16th in 2021-22.

But the former QPR and Northampton boss has endured a nightmare start to the new campaign with just one point from Burton’s seven games.
That came in a 4-4 draw with Accrington Stanley in August.
They lost 2-1 away at Oxford on Saturday, taking their tally to a whopping 20 goals conceded already.
Therefore the Brewers sit bottom of League One with a goal difference of -12.

And the East Midlands side are already six points from safety.
Burton lost in the first round of the Carabao Cup to Rochdale but did get their only win of the campaign in a 4-2 victory over Leicester’s Under-21s in the EFL Trophy.
Now the 23-cap Dutch international Hasselbaink has walked away before he is sacked.
He said: “I have taken the club as far as I can with the limited resources available and it is time for someone else to come in and inject some new energy.

“I would like to thank the fans, and everyone associated with the club, including the Chairman, and to wish them all the best in the future.”
Chairman Ben Robinson said: “I have enjoyed working with Jimmy who is an inspirational coach and I understand and respect his decision to move on.
“I want to thank him for the success he brought to the club both on and off the field and I wish him well with his future career.”
Assistant manager Dino Maamria will take interim charge of the Brewers

The news comes just hours after ex-Leeds and Middlesbrough star Hasselbaink was a pundit on Super Sunday for the Premier League action at Brighton and Manchester United.
During his analysis, he warned Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta that he is not convinced by Gabriel Jesus as an out-and-out striker – despite the £45million Brazilian’s superb start for the Gunners.
Hasselbaink, who scored 87 goals in 177 Chelsea appearances, said: “He’s come in [and scored] three goals, made chances, made others around him play better.
“I’m still not convinced he will be 20 goals a season because if he was that then why did he not do that at Man City in a better team?
“I think he had enough opportunities [at Man City]. He is not somebody that scores goals out and out and out.

“He’s somebody that loves scoring goals and likes to link up, he’s been brilliant at it, very strong, holding the ball up.
“He’s got three goals in five matches – which is brilliant – but you expect him to score more goals. He’s a great signing.” More

Jamie Carragher, Gary Neville and Keane were providing analysis after the match when Stormzy made a surprise appearance.
And it left United’s former captain shocked, as Keane said: “I thought this was a football show, what’s happening?”
Fans online were loving the surprise pairing between Keane and Stormzy.
One said: “Roy Keane and Stormzy is a funny link up.”

Another added: “I think Roy Keane hanging out with Stormzy was a bigger highlight than Man Utd beating Liverpool.”
Stormzy, one of Britain’s most prominent music artists, then joked he was star-struck having been in the presence of Premier League legends.
He said: “Sorry, I’m a bit flustered right now.
“Do you know what it is? I’ve never met these lot before, so we was walking past, we was a bit star-struck and someone gave me a mic and now I’m here!”

The performer picked the perfect game to go to, as goals from Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho won United the match.
It was a much needed result for Ten Hag, who suffered shock defeats to Brighton at home and Brentford away before Liverpool’s visit.
The Dutchman said: “We can talk about tactical but it is all about attitude. There was communication and a fighting spirit.
“I wanted a different approach and a different attitude and that is what they brought on the pitch.
“It is only a start. We can play with much more composure and much more danger.
“Be a team and have a good spirit – and that is what we saw today. It is not always about what I said.
“I said we have to act and not to talk a lot and make sure you are a team and battle and be brave and give each other options.”

“As you see, we bring attitude to the pitch. There was communication. There was fighting spirit.
“You can see what they can achieve because they can f*****g play football!”
Sky Sports presenter David Jones was quick to interject and apologise for the language.
He said: “Sorry for the language if there was a little F-Bomb dropped in there we do apologise!”

Man Utd icon Gary Neville, who was covering the game as a pundit alongside Roy Keane and Jamie Carragher, enjoyed the slip-up though.
He jokingly responded with: “I quite enjoyed it! Can we have more of that!”
The Red Devils claimed their first three points of the season with the victory over bitter rivals Liverpool.
Jadon Sancho opened the scoring 16 minutes into the game with a superb strike, although many fans slammed Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk for his poor defending in the build-up.

Marcus Rashford then doubled the advantage when he out-ran the Reds’ defence before slotting the ball past a helpless Alisson.
Mohamed Salah got one back for Jurgen Klopp’s side with 10 minutes to go, but it was too little too late.
The three points sees Man Utd climb up to 14th in the table.
Meanwhile, Liverpool slip down to 16th place after gaining just two points from their opening three games – their worst ever start to a Premier League season.
United boss Ten Hag was very pleased with his team’s performance.
After the game, he said: “I was happy with it [the performance], but they have to bring it every game. Not only one game. Of course, we are happy. I know the rivalry against Liverpool.
“But don’t only bring it against Liverpool. Every Premier League game is difficult, is heavy so we have to bring it to every single game – this organisation and this intensity.
“And it starts, once again, with spirit.” More

‘I’m having flashbacks to Torres’ – Gary Neville SCREAMS on Sky commentary as Sancho scores for Man Utd vs Liverpool

GARY NEVILLE screamed back the years with a blood-curdling yell of joy on live TV when Jadon Sancho hit a superb opener for Manchester United against Liverpool.Sky Sports pundit Nev could be heard in the background with what reminded some of his famous screech when Fernando Torres put Chelsea in the 2012 Champions League final.

Old Trafford legend Neville was ecstatic as Sancho showed calmness and deft footwork to reward the Red Devils’ resurgent display on 16 minutes.
That morale-boosting goal followed United opening the season with two straight defeats and Liverpool starting with a pair of disappointing draws.
But one viewer said of Nev’s noise: “I’m having horrendous flashbacks to Neville’s celebration scream, when Torres scored for Chelsea at the Nou Camp…”
But most fans on social media were simply stunned by how he achieved the sound.

One said of watching the goal: “Worst part of that was Neville’s insufferable little scream in the back.”
Another queried: “That scream – is it allowed?”
And one armchair viewer – or listener – labelled it “f***ing embarrassing.”
Nev’s previous attempt at a horror movie cameo while commentating live came when Torres struck in stoppage time as ten-man Chelsea came from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 at Barcelona ten years ago.

That put the Blues through 3-2 on aggregate to the Champions League final, where they beat Bayern Munich in a penalty shootout.
So perhaps Nev’s semi-final celebrations back then proved a good “omen” for the Blues.
And although Liverpool began to recover their composure in Monday’s crucial game, it was far from a screaming certainty that they could get something from it. More

Man Utd currently sit at the bottom of the Premier League table with no points following two successive defeats to Brighton and Brentford respectively.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are on two points having been held to a draw by both Fulham and Crystal Palace.
United fans are expected to protest against the Glazer family’s ownership of the club before and during the game.

Joshua, 32, performed much better than he did in his first fight with Usyk, 35, but was still outclassed by the Ukrainian.
After the result was announced, AJ lost his head and threw two of Usyk’s belts out of the ring.
Joshua then stormed out of the ring, but later returned to the squared circle to shake hands with his opponent.
But as they talked in the ring, AJ said: “I don’t care about being strong, I have that skill.

Joshua said: “Usyk is one hell of a f***ing fighter, let’s give him a round of applause.
“Sorry guys, look, if you knew my story you’d understand the passion.
“I ain’t no f***ing amateur boxer from five-years-old, I wasn’t an elite prospect from youth, bro, I was going to jail.
“I seen some youths in Reading jail, I got bail and I started training my a*** off.
“Because if I got sentenced I wouldn’t be able to fight. I bust my case, my cousin, where’s he at? G14.
“I’m stealing this Usyk, I’m sorry but it’s because of the f***ing passion we’ve put into this s***, man.
“Guys I’m telling you, this guy to beat me tonight, maybe I could have done better but it shows the levels of hard work he must have put in.
“So please give him a round of applause as our heavyweight champion of the world.
“I’m not a 12 round fighter? Look at me, I’m a new breed of heavyweight, all them heavyweights; Mike Tyson, Sonny Liston, Jack Dempsey – they say ‘he doesn’t throw combinations like Rocky Marciano,’ because I’m not f***ing 14-stone, that’s why, I’m 18-stone I’m heavy.
“It’s hard work, this guy here is a phenomenal talent, we’re going to cheer for him three times. Well how many belts have you got now bro, five?
