Now the Daily Mail claims that Sky Sports’ staff “have been primed to avoid a repeat” during coverage of the upcoming Scottish Premiership clash.
Ofcom regulations state that broadcasters should avoid showing any material that could cause offence to viewers.
And this fresh report states that “the regulator is understood to have provided further guidance this week that insulting material about the Queen falls into that category”.
Now Sky Sports’ production staff “have been instructed to turn down sound levels or even switch off individual microphones” if any offensive chants are heard during the Celtic game.

St Mirren have confirmed that they will hold a minute’s applause before kick off rather than the period of silence that has been held at almost every other UK ground.
That is due to fears of mass booing from the away section.
Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou has urged his team’s supporters to respect the planned minute’s applause.
That plea came after fans unveiled anti-monarchy banners prior to their Champions League game on Wednesday.

One read “f*** the crown” with another reading ‘Sorry for your loss Michael Fagan’ – which was referring to the infamous intruder who found his way into the late Queen’s Buckingham Palace bedroom 40 years ago.
The anti-royal sentiments from Celtic fans have made St Mirren chiefs ditch their plans for a moment of silence in favour of a minute’s applause.
But Postecoglou said: “As a football club we’ll abide by the obligations in the most respectful way.
“We wore black armbands on Wednesday night – and that was sort of lost on people.
“If it is a minute’s applause, we will abide by that, and we’ll do it in the most respectful manner because I think that is the football club we are and want to be.
“What we always try and do is portray ourselves as a football club that is respectful and understands its obligations.” More

Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua: Live stream, TV channel, venue and purse for HUGE heavyweight ‘Battle of Britain’ clash

BRITISH boxing fans are set to be in for a treat this winter as Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury will FINALLY face off.The Gypsy King called out Joshua after claiming that talks with Ukrainian machine Oleksandr Usyk had stalled.
Anthony Joshua lost to Oleksandr Usyk for a second consecutive timeCredit: AFP
But after weeks of negotiations, AJ shockingly accepted Fury’s offer despite disappointingly losing to Usyk less than a month ago.
Here is everything you need to know about Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury.
Joshua vs Fury – when will it happen?
Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury was originally set to take place over two fights, with the pair verbally agreeing a deal last summer.
The first fight was supposed to happen in August before Deontay Wilder’s team won a legal battle against Fury, securing the Bronze Bomber’s right to a contracted trilogy rematch, which he lost.
But negotiations are progressing nicely and it seems as if the huge fight will happen on December 3.
Joshua vs Fury – where will it take place?
As stated by Hearn, the first fight was likely to take place in Saudi Arabia, with a second eyed to take place in the UK.
Anthony Joshua successfully regained his titles against Andy Ruiz Jr in Saudi while Tyson Fury wowed the crowd by making a WWE appearance in the Gulf State.
However reports suggest the ‘Battle of Britain’ clash will take place at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff.
Joshua vs Fury – how much will they earn?
A lot. That’s the simple answer.
But a figure of £70million has been floating around with Tyson Fury set to take home 60% of the purse whilst AJ takes 40%.
Hearn also spoke earlier this year about how he expects the pair to make ‘Mayweather money’, referencing the grand purses Floyd used to pull in for his fights.
    Most read in Boxing
“It’s certainly I think, you know, the biggest fight, the most lucrative fight, in boxing right now – unquestionably,” Hearn said.
“That’s Mayweather money. You know? And we haven’t seen Mayweather money since Mayweather.
“I think it’s impossible to give a number. There’s no set purses for this fight because, obviously, it’s a revenue share. But it’s certainly gonna break records everywhere.”
Joshua vs Fury – what hurdles are left to clear?
    Fortunately for boxing fans… none!
The venue, purse and date of the fight have all been agreed which means that these two iconic heavyweights can prepare for ‘Battle of Britain’.

When will Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua take place? All you need to know on blockbuster bout
Joshua vs Fury – what channel will it be on in the UK?
This could be a tricky one.
Joshua had an exclusive deal with Sky Sports in the UK, but it expired after his fight with Usyk, and while Fury’s deal with BT Sport isn’t exclusive, he’s closely aligned with them.
Fury, however, has fought on Sky Sports Box Office before, most notably for his world heavyweight title win over Wladimir Klitschko in 2015.
Don’t be surprised if the two sides come to an agreement where both Sky and BT decide to work together on a dual-broadcast.
Streaming DAZN, however, are also a part of the UK market, as they exclusively broadcast all of Matchroom’s fight nights.
One thing holding any potential bids from DAZN, however, is that they don’t offer fights on pay-per-view, like Sky and BT do.
In the U.S., the situation is also tricky.
Fury has an exclusive deal with ESPN, while Joshua’s last four fights have been shown on streaming service DAZN in the U.S.
ESPN offer a pay-per-view service for their big fight nights while DAZN work on a subscription-based model, making a deal for the fight to be shown on both channels difficult.
Joshua vs Fury – what have they all said?
AJ’s promoter Eddie Hearn confirmed that they have accepted the offer after thrashing out talks with Frank Warren’s son George
Hearn said: “We just went back this morning and said, I spoke to AJ about that offer, we think, I think particularly he deserves more than 40 per cent.
“But, he’s happy. And I don’t make the decisions, he does. So I went back this morning and said, ‘We accept 60/40’.

“We want that reversed in the rematch, rightfully so because you’re champion here, you want the bigger split, which I think is fair.
“They’re all former good men, back in the early 2000s, late 2000s, but not in 2020-odd. They were good men 10 years ago.” More

Southampton icon Le Tiss claims he was given the boot because of his views on coronavirus – but insists he “not a nutter”.
The 53-year-old said: “I went into working in the media from 2002 onwards until late August 2020, which was an interesting scenario where I lost my job.
“Obviously the pandemic started in 2020 in March – and very early on in that I had my doubts as to what was really going on.
“I felt early on there was a massive overreaction to it by the governments.

However, neither fixture will be available to watch in the UK after they were both snubbed for TV and instead pencilled in for 3pm kick offs.
Chelsea will host Wolves on October 8th – a match which will mark Costa’s return to Stamford Bridge.
And later in the month, Chelsea will make their way to Brighton, which will see Potter’s return in front of the Amex faithful.
While the reception for Costa’s Chelsea return may be quite warm – owing to him firing The Blues to two league titles – the atmosphere at the Brighton game could be far more toxic.

Chris Kamara breaks down in tears over apraxia and speech problems and felt he needed to quit Soccer Saturday

CHRIS KAMARA says he feels like a “fraud” following his apraxia of speech diagnosis – and like someone else is controlling his voice. The 64-year-old left his role on Sky Sports’ Soccer Saturday at the end of last season after being diagnosed with an underactive thyroid earlier this year, leaving him with a condition that affects his speech.

The former Swindon and Brentford midfielder has continued with his media work as the host of ITV’s Ninja Warrior UK and co-host of the BBC’s Proper Football podcast with Ben Shephard.
But speaking with watery eyes on the Diary Of A CEO podcast, a clearly choked-up Kammy admitted: “I feel a fraud now in terms of broadcasting – I don’t bring to the table what I used to.
“I feel I’m doing these programmes and they’re not getting the best of me – they’re tolerating me, that’s how it feels. You take your old self for granted.”
Kamara first started to feel unwell in March 2020 but ignored the signs for around 20 months before finally getting a diagnosis.

And when he returned to TV duties, he said he felt like people watching him were probably wondering if he was drunk or had suffered a stroke.
Asked what it is like to suffer from speech apraxia, Kamara added: “It feels like someone has taken over my voice box.
“The voice that used to come out would come out at 300 miles an hour on Soccer Saturday, motormouth, talking and not even waiting for a breath, just keep going and going.
“Now when I hear myself or see myself on TV it’s someone else. It’s really strange.

“Some days the message from the brain to the mouth is really slow and makes it difficult, or some days the words come out different than what you’re trying to say – and that’s even weirder.

The disorder causes people to have trouble speaking and for Kamara in broadcasting, his voice is his life.
In an emotional interview, the popular ex-Sky Sports commentator told the Daily Star Sunday: “Ten months ago, I could hardly talk.
“The words hardly came out. My voice is my life at the moment. As a broadcaster, I need my voice and I need it to be spot on.
“So I could have gone away and gone into the background. I wanted to pack it all in.

“But ITV bosses wouldn’t hear of it. Channel 4, Channel 5 and the BBC were exactly the same.
“Even now, some days I wake up and think, ‘Why am I doing this? There are people better than me out there who are more qualified’.”
Kamara received an avalanche of support from fans, colleagues and telly execs.
He says it has been “overwhelming” and it has made him appreciate how lucky he is.

Kamara continued: “It’s overwhelming at times. People have been so kind and amazing.
“It made me appreciate how lucky I am that people think that kindly of me and all the channels still want to employ me now. It is appreciated.”
He added: “It is emotional, but then again I’ve got an under-active thyroid and that plays with your emotions anyway.”
Kamara returned to TV screens earlier this year for ITV’s The Games.
He is currently back as one of the presenters on Ninja Warrior UK. More

Another added: “Used to be surrounded by donkeys.”
And a third said: “When you see Martinez win another header.”
