Sky Sports pundits ranked on who is hardest with Roy Keane second and โ€˜weaselโ€™ Gary Neville last, says Micah Richards

MICAH RICHARDS has ranked the Sky Sports pundits – and put ‘weasel’ Gary Neville bottom of the pile with Roy Keane only second. The popular former defender, 33, appears on A League Of Their Own tonight alongside colleague Jamie Redknapp and the rest of the gang.
Micah Richards has had his say on who would win a punditry boxing championship
The ex-defender is a guest on Thursday’s episode of A League Of Their Own
And when the panel get on to the topic of boxing, he revealed how he would order Sky’s Super Sunday squad including himself, Redknapp, Neville, Keane, Jamie Carragher and Graeme Souness.
Richards said: “Well Souey would be bottom because he’s the oldest.”
Redknapp butted in, though, and added: “I don’t agree with you… Souey would ruin Gary Neville. Souey can fight, Souey is tough.”
Richards agreed and continued: “Yes, of course! Gary Neville the weasel. Of course it’s Gary Neville.
“Gary Neville: sixth. Souey fifth. Jamie fourth.”
Raging Redknapp was not having it, insisting he should be above Carragher – which brought laughter from the others.

Richards then finished off his list: “Roy Keane, he’s going number two and I’m number one.”
The conversation came about after Richards confessed he was doing some boxing training in the gym.
He is eyeing up an organised bout – with former United hardman Rio Ferdinand his dream opponent.

After turning down team-mate Freddie Flintoff’s offer for some tips, Richards added: “I have been working on it a little bit but technique’s a little off, right knee is not great.
“I’m trying to train, just for fitness.
“Well, I would have a fight against Rio, yes.
“He thinks he’s a big man doesn’t he Rio?”

Sky Sports believe Anthony Joshua will snub Eddie Hearn and DAZN and stay with them out of loyalty

SKY SPORTS believe they will keep Anthony Joshua out of the clutches of new boxing broadcast rivals DAZN.The streaming service has already snapped up Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn and his stable, with stars like Josh Warrington, Conor Benn and Katie Taylor fighting on the app this weekend in Leeds.
Sky Sports are confident they will be able retain Anthony Joshua as their boxing ‘ambassador’Credit: PA
Eddie Hearn is keen to lure Joshua to his streaming venture DAZNCredit: PA:Press Association
Hearn hopes his long-running relationship with the WBA, IBF and WBO king will help him take AJ over to the marketโ€™s new ยฃ7.99 a-month force.
But Sky Sportsโ€™ head of boxing Adam Smith believes Joshuaโ€™s proven loyalty, especially to trainer Rob McCracken after he faced blame for the Andy Ruiz defeat in 2019, will prove to be the deciding factor in keeping him on Sky Box Office.
Launching Skyโ€™s return to boxing with stars like Chris Eubank Jr, Josh Taylor and Caroline Dubois, Smith said: โ€œAnthony was already a star after winning gold at London 2012 and we think we have made him a superstar on Sky.
โ€œHe has almost become an ambassador for us and is on pictures all over Skyโ€™s offices all over the country.
โ€œWe look at how we build fighters, clever matchmaking and taking people around the country and then taking them to PPV at the right time.
โ€œAJ is loved by the nation, he has the looks and the skill and now he has had the comeback.

โ€œAJ is a massive part of our business so I would be naive to say I will happily watch him leave, we will be fighting hard to keep working with Anthony going forward.
โ€œI think he is a very loyal guy who has stayed with Eddie and Rob McCracken and I think he will be loyal to Sky.โ€
AJโ€™s September 25 defence against Oleksandr Usyk at the new Spurs stadium will be Joshuaโ€™s last on his current contract with Sky.
AJ has been amazing for us and we are hopeful we can continue doing business in the futureAdam SmithSky Sports Head of Boxing
The bidding war can commence on the 26th but bullish Smith believes his companyโ€™s PPV platform can hold off DAZNโ€™s advances.
He said: โ€œWe have AJโ€™s next fight vs Usyk and we have worked for a long time getting that to Spurs.
โ€œWe have been with AJ for a long time, helping him build up from London 2012 and we are excited about talks and movement in that direction.
โ€œAJ has been amazing for us and we are hopeful we can continue doing business in the future.โ€
Hearn was a brilliant driving force for Sky boxing in front and behind the camera and eyebrows were raised when Britainโ€™s youngest promoter Ben Shalom was named the Essex mogulโ€™s successor.
But Smith has revealed that Shalom, who created the Ultimate Boxxer brand that recently morphed into BOXXER, is going to take a more low-profile approach to promoting.
โ€œEddie went and we wanted to stay in boxing,โ€ Smith said.
โ€œWe had some great times but we needed to go again and change direction slightly.

โ€œBen is a very smart and cool guy, heโ€™s different to Eddie, he does not want to be front and centre, the fighters are going to do and be that.
โ€œBen gave an extraordinary presentation and he has a very strong team behind him.
โ€œIt may have been a bit of a shock for the boxing world but he has really impressed me.โ€
