“He’s just nowhere to be seen and I start to get a bit worried. Not that I get overly concerned about Carragher!
“I rung his phone four times and he’s not answered. I ring our producer at Sky and he says ‘go back inside and call his room.’

“I say: ‘where the f**k are you?!’
“Then he says: ‘I’m in the spa!’
“And I’m like: ‘you’re taking the p*ss mate.’ Jamie Carragher from Bootle, he’s in the sauna, he’s in the steam room, the hot tub.

Sky pundit Gary Neville shares hilarious video of him being abused by Wolves fans as Jamie Carragher offers advice

GARY NEVILLE has shared a hilarious video of himself being abused by Wolves fans – as Jamie Carragher appeared to egg them on. The former Manchester United star was on punditry duties for the Friday night football as Fulham hosted Wolves.

With the pre-match build-up done, Neville headed into the Craven Cottage TV studio with fellow analyst Karen Carney and presenter Kelly Cates.
Carragher headed up the gantry to provide co-commentary.
With the studio hanging above the away end, it did not take long for the travelling Wolves fans to spot Neville watching the match from the window.
Supporters playfully serenaded the TV pundit with an unflattering chorus of “Gary Neville is a w*****”, which he duly took in excellent humour.

He recorded a video of the Wolves supporters facing his direction as they blasted out the song, before eventually turning the camera on himself to reveal a sheepish grin.
A woman, possibly Carney or Cates, could be heard giggling in the background as the chants grew loud enough for even viewers at home and commentators Martin Tyler and Carragher to hear.
The former Liverpool defender then brilliantly quipped: “Just let it breathe, Martin.”
Carragher and Neville have developed a popular love-hate dynamic since the former arrived on Sky Sports and often have fun at the other’s expense.

As usual they were teamed-up to provide punditry for Friday Night Football and were treated to a decent game.

Fans left groaning as DAZN announce shock plan to rival Sky Sports and BT Sport for Premier League TV rights

STREAMING giants DAZN have announced a shock plan to rival Sky Sports and BT Sport for Premier League TV rights – but fans are far from impressed.DAZN confirmed securing rights to Prem football is a ‘high-priority’ for the company.

The streaming giants are one of boxing’s main broadcasters and have even snatched former heavyweight world champion Anthony Joshua from rivals Sky.
And they plan on doing the same but with Prem football, rivalling both Sky and BT.
DAZN already forks out £747million a season to host the domestic rights for Serie A football.
They also have a ten-year worldwide deal with NFL worth close to £840m.

DAZN chief executive Shay Segev says plans to get Prem football are well underway.
Speaking to The Times, he said: “Football is obviously very big in the UK and EPL is an option on our menu.
“If the question is do we have any ambition to go to this market, the answer is of course yes. And it’s not only ambition it’s a high priority on my list.
“DAZN is a sports service and clearly we will try to get bigger packages but the maths needs to work.

“The question is the economic situation, the competition and whether we will be in a position to be strong enough to position ourselves as the best.
“I am very, very confident that in the mid to long-term we can be a big player in the UK.
“Whether this takes, two years, five years, seven years, time will tell.”
Segev says DAZN taking on English top-flight football would further boost revenue.
He explained: “In the old world there is a conflict of interest between the [sports] and the broadcasters.
“We don’t want competition and we want to pay the least we can. The new world is a partnership deal, a revenue-sharing deal.
“The clubs and leagues expect to get a specific level, then we can come in and guarantee some level of revenues and are also looking for the upside as well and we will be focused on the upside.”
DAZN have time to put together their bid ahead of next year’s auction that will see rights for the 2025-28 seasons decided.
The current deal running from 2022 and running until 2025 and is worth a whopping £4.8billion.
The Daily Mail state that there is concern that the Premier League would be unhappy with more than three media outlets hosting the rights.
That could mean one of Sky, BT, or Amazon would have to drop out.
However, DAZN’s announcement has left fans groaning.
Sports fans are already paying for Sky, BT and in the festive season, Amazon.
One said on Twitter: “The Premier League need to go on their own. Make their own app and leave the rest behind imo.”
Another tweeted: “Hope they don’t get it.

‘It’s pretty straightforward…’ – Man Utd legend Roy Keane gives brutally blunt view on City’s financial breaches

ROY KEANE has had his say on Manchester City’s financial breaches. The reigning Prem champions were found to have broken 115 league rules earlier this week.
Roy Keane offered his opinion on Sky Sports
Boss Pep Guardiola subsequently came out fighting – blasting City’s league rivals for already “condemning” his side.
Asked about the breaches while appearing on Sky Sports, and the effect they could have on City’s players, Keane said: “I generally think most players I know are quite selfish… they just want to focus on the team performance.
“Obviously it’s their own contract situation. From Man City’s point of view, the fans will have been delighted by Pep’s response in the media, he did come out fighting.
“If Man City are innocent then everyone should relax. Pep should relax, people getting uptight – Man City have got to get back to trying to win football matches.

“I think from a dressing room point of view, if you were a player there today going into this game against Villa, you’re thinking all your focus would be on beating Aston Villa.
“Obviously the people upstairs take care of the politics involved.
“If they are found guilty then you have to be punished, it’s pretty straight forward.
“Pep, like he said in that piece there… he’s obviously speaking to people above him – the chairman, the CEO and people that run the club – he said they’ve told him they’re innocent, then just get on with it.”

Weighing in on the matter, Gary Neville said: “There’s going to be a major loser here.
“The Premier League are going to be found to be incompetent if they can’t land the charges and if they do land the charges it’s going to tarnish the last 10 years for many people.”
On Financial Fair Play, Neville added: “It was pushed through by the established elite because they have the highest revenues and they don’t like the idea of being able to pump money into football.”
And on City supposedly having the highest revenue in the world, Neville was not convinced.
He continued: “I think where it’s become a bit unbelievable is that Manchester City have sailed above Manchester United, Real Madrid and other clubs like that on the revenue.”
City fans booed as the Premier League anthem was pumped around the Etihad prior to their clash with Aston Villa this afternoon.
It wasn’t all doom and gloom, however, as fans were able to witness an unlikely bromance being rekindled.
Will Ferrell appeared on Sky Sports before the game, hugging his former Soccer Aid team-mate Keane as he did so.

Ferrell then joked: “I’ll run around a little bit, kick the ball and try not to pull my hammy.”

Back in 2012, the Hollywood icon had joked about how he first introduced himself to former Manchester United hardman Keane.
He said at the time: “No one told me ahead of time you’re not supposed to go up and hug Roy Keane, and that’s the first thing I did.
“I walked up, hugged him, picked him up, and gave him a big old wet kiss on the cheek.
“He said ‘nice to meet you too’…
“He waved at me at breakfast on Friday morning, I believe he was waving at me. I believe it was really positive.”
Despite being a Hollywood A-Lister, Ferrell has shown his down to Earth nature during his trip the UK.
Ahead of attending pals Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds’ Wrexham clash with Wealdstone, he was spotted chatting to fans while clutching a pint in a local pub.
The Turf regulars couldn’t believe it when Ferrell walked in for a pre-match pint.

EFL set for streaming revolution as Swedish giant ViaPlay set to end Sky Sports monopoly with more games on offer

SWEDISH streaming giant Viaplay is emerging as the leading player in the next EFL TV deal. The company boasts major cash to take some of the many packages going.
EFL football could be set to appear on streaming servicesCredit: PA
There is growing talk that future coverage — starting in the 2024-25 season — will be split between several TV stations and opens the door to streaming.
Sky enjoyed the lion’s share of coverage for years but it is now under threat in the bidding process.
And lower-division clubs are open to the idea of a separate deal for them, meaning more live games.
The EFL’s commercial team will present some of the options at a meeting later this month.

But Viaplay is the new name on the lips of those doing the deals.
And the Viaplay group has been picking up sports contracts all the time.
It snapped up the UK-based Premier Sports for more than £30million last year.
Viaplay also plans to launch in America soon and a football package would help its cause.

Zak Chelli vs. Anthony Sims Jr.
Credit where it is due, Zak Chelli put in a good performance over the course of the 10 rounds.
Sims looked a passenger for too much of the fight but in the 8th round at least, he attacked.
Chelli still had to be wary of a potential for getting caught by one but he didn’t treat it like a street brawl to get it done.
He will gain a lot from that fight.

Zak Chelli wins by unanimous decision
Zak Chelli vs. Anthony Sims Jr. (Round 10)
Chelli has outboxed Sims in this fight.
He’s been more eager for the win.
Some big body shots in this round followed up with a right that rocks Sims.
He has to hold onto Chelli to stay up.
The round ends, solid finish by Chelli.
Zak Chelli vs. Anthony Sims Jr. (Round 9)
Chelli looks like his corner have had a word with him in the break there.
He comes out of the corner and goes for Sims from the off.
Landing a series of punches on the head of Sims he rocks him onto the ropes.
    Chelli definitely taking that round.
Zak Chelli vs. Anthony Sims Jr. (Round 8)
Sims comes out of the traps for the first time.
He starts the round at a high tempo and goes for Chelli.
Think his corner have had some honest words with him.
Chelli ends up on the canvas but nothing to do with a punch as Sims throws him to the ground.
He seems to know he needs to come out of his shell to get a win here.
Credit: Richard Pelham / The Sun
Zak Chelli vs. Anthony Sims Jr. (Round 7)
Chelli seems to be able to hold Sims at bay too much.
He is only landing a few shots in the round but Sims is not attacking at all.
Maybe he is conserving his energy.
Zak Chelli vs. Anthony Sims Jr. (Round 6)
Chelli takes another round on the scorecard.
Sims is struggling to land anything that is likely to do any damage at all.
His defence is getting weaker by the round.
It won’t be long before Chelli gets a telling blow through.
Zak Chelli vs. Anthony Sims Jr. (Round 5)
Chelli manages to land some big hits in that round.
Particularly a big right hand that rocked Sims’ head.
After that, he started to be able to get his jabs through Sims’ guard.
Zak Chelli vs. Anthony Sims Jr. (Round 4)
Chelli has a much better round there.
Landing his jab and following it up with looping right hands.
Didn’t land any telling ones but the intent was there.
Zak Chelli vs. Anthony Sims Jr. (Round 3)
Sims starts to look a bit more aggressive.
He is trying to get in close to Chelli and when he does he fires off some combinations looking to hurt his opponent.
Chelli seems to focussing on the body.
He is throwing haymakers that aren’t connecting.
Credit: Richard Pelham / The Sun
Zak Chelli vs. Anthony Sims Jr. (Round 2)
Both boxers seem to be a bit cagey in this one.
Body shots are being landed but that is about it.
In all fairness, they both seem to be defending the face well.
Zak Chelli vs. Anthony Sims Jr. (Round 1)
Both boxers go through the motions in the first round.
Exchanging jabs, testing each other’s defence.
Hopefully this one will warm up a bit.
    Next fight up…..
It is time for the co-main event.
    For the super-middleweight championship.
Zak Chelli vs. Anthony Sims Jr.
Scheduled as a ten round fight.
    Viddal Riley vs. Anees Taj
Well, the doctor did the right thing there to stop that.
Taj’s eye looked like a shark bite.
That would have opened up to the point where we could see skull.
    Solid win for Viddal Riley.

    Fight over, Viddal Riley wins
Referee calls doctor to the ring
Viddal Riley vs. Anees Taj (Round 3)
Both boxers exchange blows but Riley manages to cut Taj’s eye open.
Viddal Riley starts to work the cut as blood stream from Taj’s eye.
This could work to Riley’s advantage now as this may get stopped if the blood obscures his vision.
Anees Taj is starting to look like a body double for Rocky Balboa in the 12th round against Ivan Drago.
Credit: Richard Pelham / The Sun
Viddal Riley vs. Anees Taj (Round 2)
Taj manages to land a big left on his opponent as they both swing punches at each other at the same time.
Riley is trying to work him with body shots.
Anees Taj is leading with the jab well.
Viddal Riley vs. Anees Taj (Round 1)
Both boxers take the first round easy as they sound each other out.
Taj goes for it initially, looking to finish this like he’s got a taxi with a meter running outside.
He lowers the levels for the rest of the round.
    Next fight up……..
Now we move onto a cruiserweight bout.
    Viddal Riley vs. Anees Taj
Riley was sounding confident backstage earlier.
We are in for eight rounds in this one.
    Tyler Denny vs. Brad Pauls
No surprise to the judges scores there.
    The champ retains his belt.
Pauls just couldn’t compete at the level needed to stop his opponent.
Tyler Denny wins by judges scores
Tyler Denny vs. Brad Pauls (Round 10)
Brad Pauls needs to knockout Denny in this round.
He doesn’t seem to realise this and is still boxing like we are all winners.
Denny is boxing like somebody who knows he has the points decision in the bag.
Brad Pauls looks very tired now.
His punches are landing with no power at all.
Denny lands a good right hand as blood spills onto the canvas.
That might be a broken nose.
Tyler Denny vs. Brad Pauls (Round 9)
It’s amazing how many punches to the back of the head land in these fights.
They are likely to more damage than anything else.
Then again, if referee pulled them up each time this happened, this fight would never finish.
Nothing of note in that round, other than it being the penultimate of the fight.
Tyler Denny vs. Brad Pauls (Round 8)
Both fighters land some big body shots.
Denny goes big with some combos and hooks but Pauls manages to duck and weave, dodging them all.
Dodge, Duck, Dip, Dive and Dodge.
Classic advice from a classic film.
Pauls lands some good jabs towards the end of the round.
