Filled with young, emerging talent, including Team GB Olympic gold-medallist Lauren Price and Caroline Dubois, it should be a cracking night of action.
But slotting into that that co-main spot is Mayer’s three-belt unification with Baumgardner at super-featherweight.
Mayer holds the IBF and WBO titles, while Baumgardner has the WBC strap in her grasp, having beaten Terri Harper for it last year.
The pair have shared a heated build-up so far, with Mayer even attempting to throw a kick at her opponent at Friday’s weigh-in.
    When is Mayer vs Baumgardner?

Mayer’s big clash with Baumgardner will take place on Saturday, October 15.
The fight should get underway from around 9-9.30pm BST.
Shields vs Marshall ring-walks will come after Mayer vs Baumgardner.
The event will be held at London’s O2 Arena.

What channel is it and can it be live streamed?

Mayer vs Baumgardner will be shown live on Sky Sports Arena in the UK.
You can live stream the action from the Sky Go or NOW TV apps, both of which are available for download onto your mobile or tablet device.

    What has been said?
“She started to push me back,” Mayer said of her scrap with Baumgardner at the weigh-in.
“I didn’t have any arms because I (am carrying) three belts. So, I had to use my legs.
“I feel great. All this talk of me struggling to make weight is a reflection of this girl. She’s struggling. She’s spending too much time in the weight room.”
“I’m here to be unified champion of the world,” said Baumgardner.
“There’s no other option in my head. To get her out of there, to have the referee stop it, Coach Al (Mitchell) throw in the towel. But this girl gotta go.” More

Sky Sports in grovelling apology to Steve Cooper after crude impression of Nottingham Forest manager on Fantasy Football

SKY SPORTS have issued a grovelling apology to Nottingham Forest after mocking Steve Cooper. A sketch on the Sky’s Fantasy Football League show – which has returned after 18 years – pretended to act out the signing of Serge Aurier.

Presenter Elis James appeared to significantly alter his face and had one eye closed in a crude impression of Forest boss and fellow Welshman Cooper.
James announced Aurier as squad number 4345 in a packed-out dressing room and then joked about repeating his speech to the overflow next door, after Forest made 23 summer signings.
He then invited owner – Greek businessman Evangelos Marinakis – to say a few words.
James’ co-presenter Matt Lucas walked in dressed up as Luciano Pavarotti and singing like an opera tenor in a clear dig at Marinakis’ appearance.

However, according to the Daily Mail, the misjudged skit went down badly with Nottingham Forest as well as Sky’s senior executives.
It is said employees within the football department were also ‘deeply unimpressed’ as they are reliant on maintaining good relationships with clubs.
One unnamed source told the Mail: “How on earth could anyone consider this a good idea?
“For one thing it’s crass, not funny and cruel.

“But setting that aside, Sky Sports deal with these clubs on a regular basis and rely on having a good relationship with them.
“It’s not gone down well at all.”
Sky Sports confirmed to the Mail an apology had been made to Forest.
Cooper, 42, has struggled to get his promoted side playing at their best this season.
The City Ground club sit 19th in the Premier League table on just five points – one ahead of rivals Leicester.
But despite being among the favourites to be the next manager sacked, Cooper signed a new three-year contract last week.

Man Utd legend Roy Keane names three favourite pundits… but SNUBS Sky Sports pal Micah Richards

MANCHESTER UNITED legend Roy Keane has revealed his favourite football pundits – but snubbed his Sky Sports pal Micah Richards. The pair have struck up an unusual love-hate relationship which has entertained viewers over the past few years.

Keane and Richards can often be seen on the telly when their former clubs Man United or Manchester City have big games.
Despite their unique relationship, Keane flat out refused to include him as he listed his top three pundits during a question and answer section on Monday Fight Football.
He instead picked Sky colleagues Jamie Carragher, Gary Neville and Graeme Souness – although he couldn’t resist including jokey digs.
Keane said: “I have to go with Jamie, we have done a deal.
    READ MORE ON MAN UNITED
“What does help is listening to people like Jamie who are very passionate.
“I think Neville is really good, I’ll have to go with Nev because as I always say, I want tickets for the Salford games.
“I like Graeme Souness. Growing up I watched him as a player, I thought he was a brilliant player so he always had that influence on me the way he played. What he won. I have done some work with him and he thinks along the same lines as me.”
When pressed by presenter Dave Jones on including Richards in his list, Keane said: “I’m not picking him, no chance.”

The former Manchester City defender did make Carragher’s favourite pundits list, with Neville and Keane also in his top three.
As part of the top three question session, Keane named Kevin De Bruyne, Erling Haaland and Cristiano Ronaldo as his favourite Premier League players.
Carragher agreed on De Bruyne and Haaland, but subbed-out his handshake-snubbing frenemy Ronaldo for Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk.
In terms of current top-flight managers, Keane said his favourites were Graham Potter, Thomas Frank and Pep Guardiola. While the Irishman name Wayne Rooney, Thierry Henry and Ronaldo as his favourite players of the Premier League era.
Keane even revealed his three favourite movies when asked, and opted for One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest, There Will be Blood and Shawshank Redemption.
The former Ipswich boss has been linked with a return to management in recent days, and was spotted at Preston vs West Brom days before Steve Bruce was sacked as Baggies boss. More

The banner was revealed moments before the Toon’s clash with Brentford
A huge flag featured the trademark yellow Sky Sports ticker, featuring the phrase “Newcastle Takeover Completed”.
It also featured the words “It’s Done” as well as pictures of director Amanda Staveley and manager Eddie Howe.
Another Sky Sports-style graphic listed the signings the club have made since entering Saudi ownership.
In an interview with club media yesterday, Staveley and husband Mehrdad Ghodoussi spoke with pride about the work they’ve done during their first 12 months in the North East.

Staveley said: “What an incredible year it’s been, we’ve just been so proud of how far we’ve all come together as a club and community.
“When we took over we were in 19th position, probably most likely to be relegated but look at where we’ve come through this year.
“I remember when the takeover was announced, walking out and meeting all the incredible fans that had been patiently waiting.
“By the time I finished my media interviews, I didn’t get the chance to go up to St James’ Park and see the incredible atmosphere.

“It was just a remarkable day, very special day.”
Ghoudoussi then added: “The fans have been incredible.
“They are everything as far as we’re concerned. I remember the first time we came to St James’ and we were blown away by the supporters.
“They are part of this journey with us and hope they continue to support us.
“We are a family, that’s the way we look at it.”
After surviving a let off when Bryan Mbeumo’s early strike was disallowed by VAR, the Toon took a first-half lead against the Bees via Bruno Guimaraes’ 21st minute header.
And things got even better for the home side on 28 minutes, when Jacob Murphy doubled their advantage.

Liam Gallagher slams ‘Bert and Ernie’ Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher over Erling Haaland praise

The Sky Sports pundit said: “He’s not just City’s, he is the Premier League’s.
“That’s what it feels like to me. It felt like that when he joined it was something to be enjoyed by the whole Premier League.”
Former Oasis singer Gallagher, however, claims Haaland belongs entirely to his beloved Man City.
Comparing Neville and Carragher to a pair of muppets, he tweeted: “Man City have signed Erling Halland he’s ours not the premiere leagues (sic) so what’s all this WE snizzle coming out of Bert n Ernies traps on MNF Bumbaclarts.”

Neville, 47, had just waxed lyrical about the 22-year-old striker, saying: “He’s one of those players that I would say if you get an opportunity as a football fan to get a ticket in the ground where he’s playing, go and watch him.”
Although Carra will have irritated Gallagher and other City fans, when he cheekily quipped: “You can get them at City can’t you?”
Neville replied: “That was a sneaky one, you’d expect that from me.”
And he then added: “On a serious note you could go watch Ronaldo, go and watch Messi, go watch something that’s just completely, you know – it’s like a one-off type opportunity to watch a player and that’s what Erling Haaland is. He is exceptional.”

Haaland has started his City career with an astonishing 17 goals in ten competitive outings.
These include 14 Prem strikes in eight appearances including THREE hat-tricks.
Still not satisfied, however, Haaland blasted his “sloppy” side after their 6-3 win over United.
He said: “It could have been more. In the second half we should have been tighter, worked a bit harder, because it was a bit sloppy at times.
“We lost the second half and this is not good, so we still have to work.”

But just moments after a warning to keep an eye out for the sprinklers, the team of pundits were given an unwelcome shower.
Host Kelly Cates interrupted Guardiola and said: “Watch, watch, watch… there we go!”
But by then water had been sent across Gary Neville, Micah Richards, Keane and Guardiola – as well as the table.
Neville immediately bolted for cover and appeared visibly frustrated as he returned to his spot on the end of the panel.

The ex-Manchester United defender – not Mr Popular at the Etihad – threw his arms out and appeared to glare at someone out of shot.
Richards and Guardiola also tried to get out of harm’s way.

But notorious hardman Keane hilariously remained motionless and stood his ground in classic fashion.
And fans loved the former Ireland international’s reaction.
