Bored Erling Haaland mows grass and pines for De Bruyne during World Cup in hilarious Sky Sports ad for Premier League

ERLING HAALAND has jokingly revealed what he has been up to during the World Cup.The Manchester City striker missed out on the competition in Qatar after Norway failed to qualify.

To promote the return of the Premier League, the Norwegian star teamed up with Sky Sports and produced a hilarious advert.
And the 21-year-old has clearly been bored as the domestic season paused for the Qatar festival of football.
The video shows a lonely Haaland wandering around the empty Manchester City training ground as many of the club’s stars were away in the Middle East.
He passes his time by driving a lawn mower and even dresses up a practice mannequin in a shirt with “Kevin 17” on the back for company, as he misses his countless assists from pal De Bruyne.

While trying to find some other people, Haaland runs into a room after hearing laughter, only to find Micah Richards and Roy Keane on the television.
He even tries to call team-mate Jack Grealish but is sent to the answer phone and hears the message: “Alright, it’s Jack, leave a message”.
Throughout the advert, Haaland discusses what he has been up to during his downtime.
He said: “I’m working hard while the guys are away. Sometimes… it’s a bit boring.

“But time is flying. I miss the banter, I’m not going to lie.
“And celebrating goals alone… it’s not the same.
“Anyway, I hope the guys are doing well, and I am looking forward to seeing them soon.”
Thankfully for Haaland, his worries are over as many of his team-mates are back from the World Cup.
City played a friendly match against La Liga side Girona, in which Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne scored in a 2-0 win.
The Citizens return to competitive football in the Carabao Cup round of 16 fixture against Liverpool on December 22. More

Soccer Saturday studio in hysterics after Tim Sherwood blunder as former gaffer can’t work out why penalty isn’t given

THE Soccer Saturday studio were left in stitches by a comical blunder pundit Tim Sherwood made while watching Preston take on QPR. The action had only just got underway when Andre Dozzell caught Ben Woodburn late in the box.
    Tim Sherwood watched in confusion
The studio burst into laughter when they realised Tim Sherwood’s error
The foul was committed by the attacking team not the defending team
Sherwood believed it must be a penalty and was extremely baffled as to why it wasn’t given.
After much confusion, as the other pundits saw the tackle, fellow commentator Clinton Morrison realised it wasn’t a spot-kick as the foul was committed by the attacking team, not the defending side.
The ex-Tottenham boss perhaps didn’t realise what way the team’s were shooting thinking the challenge was made in the opposite box.
Dozzell was booked and a free-kick to Preston was correctly awarded. Of course, there was no penalty at the other end for Ryan Lowe’s team.

When the penny dropped in the studio Morrison, Paul Merson and Micheal Dawson were left in hysterics.
The situation begun with Sherwood first bursting into action claiming it was “a nailed on penalty”.
He then saw the referee flash the yellow card saying: “Yellow card, penalty.”
But the eagle-eyed Morrison realised what was going on responding: “I don’t think it is a penalty, I think he is defending. It’s the other way round, look, it’s a free-kick. It’s the other way round.

Merson nearly falling off his chair with laughter, said: “Some counter-attack that would’ve been.”
Host Simon Thomas remained confused before being brought up to speed by Morrison and Merson.
The ex-Ireland striker exclaimed: “No, it’s a free-kick, the Preston guy is defending.”
Merson joined in: “They are kicking the other way.”
Fans saw the funny side of the mistake, one wrote on Twitter: “This is absolutely excruciating.”
    Another said: “That’s embarrassing.”
While another added: “Tim Sherwood with a new Chris Kamara on Sky!”
QPR ended up winning the game 1-0 More

They will face each other midweek on Wednesday 15 on Prime Video – the huge match will kick-off at 7:30pm.
The game was rescheduled previously due to the need to accommodate Arsenal’s Europa League tie with PSV after postponement following the death of the Queen.
And more of their important clashes feature heavily on Sky Sports and BT Sport during the month.
The Gunners see a trip to Everton on Saturday 4 and when they come up against former manager Unai Emery’s Aston Villa on Saturday 18 both becoming 12:30pm kick-offs live on BT.

Inside Sky Sports’ Access All Areas EFL coverage with dressing room cameras, ref chat and interview in BED

SKY SPORTS gave fans a revelatory behind-the-scenes insight in their first EFL Access All Areas live match – including dressing room cameras and interviews in bed.The broadcaster showed Wycombe’s League One clash with Portsmouth on Sunday lunchtime.

Ever wondered what the match officials say to both managers before the match? 🧐Wycombe’s game against Portsmouth today will be Sky Sports’ first-ever ‘EFL Access All Areas’ with enhanced coverage throughout the game 🎥pic.twitter.com/uGfoeP4GMc— Sky Sports (@SkySports) December 4, 2022

But rather than the usual coverage viewers may be used to, Sky were able to offer plenty more than just the thrills and spills on the pitch.
Arguably the best part of the Access All Areas footage was being able to listen in to the referee meeting with the managers and captains on the pitch.
Scott Oldham explained what he expected from his skippers – to help them manage their team-mates – and the gaffers – to allow the fourth official to do his job without having his ear chewed off.
Cameras in the dressing room – think All or Nothing vibes – allowed Chairboys and Pompey supporters to watch Gareth Ainsworth and Danny Cowley remonstrate with his players and give out their final instructions.

🗣️ “I think this is a wonderful opportunity to show what really goes on behind the scenes” We are now in The Boardroom with Alan Parry discussing Sky Sports’ first-ever ‘EFL Access All Areas’ 🎥👀 pic.twitter.com/bMAvyJXTjk— Sky Sports Football (@SkyFootball) December 4, 2022

Wisely, though, the microphones were not switched on – preventing any fruity language being pumped through the speakers of sitting rooms across the nation on a Sunday lunchtime.
But Sky needed the mics plugged in to talk to the managers and even some of the players during the match – with both bosses generous with their time to help the coverage succeed.
The TV presenter and pundits did their opening analysis to preview the game not in a studio or pitchside – but in one of the Adams Park lounges as the VIP guests milled around before kick-off.
That also enabled interviews with board members and directors in the boardroom.

The strangest pre-match chat possibly ever conducted, though, featured long-serving Sky reporter David Craig suited and booted tucked into a pitchside bed, complete with a box of sweet treats and heated blankets.
The lucky – or unlucky – fan had won a competition with Dreams to get the unique experience for his family to enjoy a game from the comfort and warmth of a giant duvet and pillows, while still enjoying all the sights, sounds and smells of live EFL football action.
In the end it was the home fans and Ainsworth who came away happiest with Wycombe running out 2-0 winners.
And the dugout cam ensured everyone watching on the telly got the perfect view of the Wycombe boss’ flowing locks, leather jacket and £200 lucky red snakeskin boots celebrating the second goal that sealed all three points.  More

Arsenal’s Premier League fixture kick-off time against Newcastle changed after Sky Sports request

ARSENAL’S Premier League fixture against Newcastle has a new kick-off time following a request from Sky Sports. The Gunners host Eddie Howe’s side in their first game of 2023 on January 3.
Arsenal’s home game will now kick off at 7.45pmCredit: Getty
The clash was meant to get underway at 8pm.
But the fixture has been picked for TV coverage and will now kick off at 7.45pm and be shown live on Sky Sports.
Arsenal will be out for revenge too, because the Mapgies crushed their top four hopes last season.
Travelling to St James’ Park in their penultimate fixture, the Gunners knew that wins from their final two Prem games would see them qualify for the Champions League.
    READ MORE ON ARSENAL
But Mikel Arteta’s men crumbled in front of a raucous Toon Army crowd.
Ben White’s own goal put Newcastle ahead 10 minutes into the second half before Bruno Guimaraes all-but ended Arsenal’s dreams late on.
Remarkably, they’ve only lost once in the league since then – the 2-1 defeat at Manchester United in September.
As a result, the North Londoners are currently five points clear at the top of the Prem.

Therefore, Arsenal will be confident of getting their own back.
And they’ll be huge favourites to do exactly that, not just because they’re the leaders, but their home record in recent months has been exceptional.
Arsenal have won each of their five Emirates fixtures this season and have won their last nine, dating back to the 2-1 defeat to Brighton in April. More

Andy Gray says he almost killed himself after Sky Sports sacking over sexism scandal in tell-all Piers Morgan interview

ANDY GRAY revealed he almost killed himself after his Sky Sports sacking over the sexism scandal. The former Scotland international, 66, opened up on his “dark place” in his interview with Piers Morgan.

Gray was axed after making derogatory comments off-air about female assistant referee Sian Massey-Ellis.
Gray and colleague Richard Keys questioned female officials’ competency in 2011.
Keys was recorded saying: “Somebody better get down there and explain offside to her (Massey).”
Gray replied: “Yeah, I know. Can you believe that? Female linesman. Forget what I said – they probably don’t know the offside rule.”

    Keys added: “Course they don’t.”
Gray then responded: “Why is there a female linesman? Somebody’s f***** up big.”
Speaking to Morgan for TalkTV, the ex-Aston Villa, Wolves and Everton striker admitted he had suicidal thoughts.
Gray said: “‘I suddenly found myself in a really dark place.

“I knew I had done something wrong, of course I did, but I couldn’t compute it.
“My head was gone. If it wasn’t for my wife I don’t know what would have happened.
“I was close to going down the garden, I had a pond, with a bottle and a few pills one day. I was that bad.
“People who know me will think I’m kidding… horrible [time]. I couldn’t work it out.
“For two weeks I couldn’t leave the house, just surrounded by press and media. Really weird – but I’m through it now.
“You learn who your friends are when things like that happen. But we’re through it now, and I’m through it now!”
YOU’RE NOT ALONEEVERY 90 minutes in the UK a life is lost to suicide.
It doesn’t discriminate, touching the lives of people in every corner of society – from the homeless and unemployed to builders and doctors, reality stars and footballers.
It’s the biggest killer of people under the age of 35, more deadly than cancer and car crashes.
Yet it’s rarely spoken of, a taboo that threatens to continue its deadly rampage unless we all stop and take notice, now.
That is why The Sun launched the You’re Not Alone campaign.
The aim is that by sharing practical advice, raising awareness and breaking down the barriers people face when talking about their mental health, we can all do our bit to help save lives.
Let’s all vow to ask for help when we need it, and listen out for others… You’re Not Alone.
If you, or anyone you know, needs help dealing with mental health problems, the following organisations provide support:

Gray was reluctant to name the people who gave the most support but added: “I was sitting in the kitchen one day, my head was all over the place, and next minute the gates open and this motorbike rider comes down the drive, he’s got an extra helmet under his arm and he comes screeching in, and it’s Andy Townsend!
“He said, ‘Come on, I’m getting you out of here!’ I said ‘No, I can’t,’ and he said, ‘Yeah come on, put this helmet on we’ll get to the gate and do a runner.’ That’s the kind of friend that was there.
“But there were various people who I looked after in various ways, that I never heard from, and probably never heard from in 20 years.”
Gray and Keys relocated to the Middle East following their Sky Sports departures.
And the latter also admitted he had mental health struggles too.
