And according to one cheeky fan, a secret transfer was sealed to take Leao to Old Trafford this morning.
The prankster managed to edit the Portugal star’s Wikipedia page to say he had joined United in 2022 but is yet to make an appearance for his new club.
However, they made a slight error by suggesting he made the switch in 2022 – because the transfer window does not open until January 1, 2023.
The page was quickly corrected back to restoring Leao as an AC Milan, much to the delight of the San Siro faithful.

But that was by no means the end of the drama as his page was still edited to add Leao’s nickname as Betinho.
That came after his compatriot and third-tier player was somehow named on the Premier League website in the United squad as their new No11.
The blunder caused much hilarity of social media – and even Betinho saw the funny side as he joined in with the fun.
And in a further twist, the hacker managed to change Leao’s employers to crisis-club Coventry with a superb return of nine goals in just six Championship matches.

Leao also had very brief stints with Arsenal, Nepali side Manang Marsyangdi Club, Exeter City and even Essex Senior League side FC Clacton as the brilliant battle raged on for the £86million-rated star.
Leao, though, remains at AC Milan for now.
Reports suggest City may be willing to offer Jack Grealish in a swap transfer to land the former Lille ace.
However, the 27-year-old’s £300,000-per-week Etihad wages may well put Milan off.
Leao is focused on his return to action with Milan on January 4 – but admitted he may well be open to a switch and has been enjoying watching Arsenal a lot this term.
Asked about a possible transfer to a new league, the ex-Lille ace said: “Yes, in the future.
“But now, I’m 100 per cent focused on Milan.
“I’m at a top club and I’m under contract. I also like the city.
“I’ve seen a lot of games this year, I like Arsenal, I think they play very well.”
AC Milan chief executive Paulo Maldini is confident his club do not have to sell from a financial perspective – but admitted every player has a price tag.
The former defender said on Leao: “He is a player of the highest level.
“But not only him, also others have received offers.

“If they show up anyway we have to see how to do it even if we don’t need to sell, our financial accounts are okay.
“But the players that cannot be sold now no longer exist.”

He has featured in every match thus far both in Serie A and the Europa League.
Despite Roma’s reluctance to raise his salary, Smalling isn’t short of interest from elsewhere.

Serie A introduces bizarre new rules including ban on green away kits and limit of one striped strip per club

SERIE A is set to introduce a new rule that will ban football clubs from using certain kits. The new regulations will stop clubs from being able to use green away kits, as well as limit teams to having just one striped kit.

Clubs will also have to provide three different goalkeeper kit optionsCredit: AFP
The decision to bring in the rule by the Italian league has been decided in order to help with virtual advertising.
During the televising of matches, some players in green kits had been “disappearing” from the picture.
Clubs will also have to design their away kits to be very different from home strips.
If the home kit is predominantly dark, the away will have to be light and vice versa.

If strips are striped or checkered, then the alternative shirt will not be able to have any of the same colours on it, except in small details.
The rule will come into place for the start of the 2023-24 season and will be mandatory from the 2024-25 campaign.
The colour green will still be allowed on the club’s home strips, so Serie A side Sassuolo will be able to keep their traditional kit.
Many clubs also have traditionally had stripes on their jerseys, with league giants AC Milan, Inter Milan and Juventus all boasting the style.

However, from now, if they want to keep their traditional home shirts, then their alternates will not be able to have stripes.
With the new rules, clubs will also have to make sure goalkeepers have three different options in order to avoid clashes.
The ban was attempted in 2021, when Serie A tried to outlaw green kits, but it was not successful then.
At that time, the argument was that television companies complained that the players wearing green blended in with the grass. More

Unfortunately for him and his compatriots there was heartbreak in store as they were defeated 4-2 by Argentina in the showpiece on Sunday.
However, big things could still be on the horizon for Rabiot as he appears to be finally closing in on a move to the Premier League after his failed switch to Manchester United last summer.
Repubblica are claiming Arsenal are now pushing to sign Rabiot in the January transfer window.
The playmaker’s contract expires in June and he is allowed to discuss terms with teams outside of Italy from January 1.

But rather than lose him for nothing, Juventus are more likely willing to offload him for a cut-price fee mid-season.
And it appears the opportunistic Gunners are ready to pounce to try and bolster their midfield.
Mikel Arteta’s team were left decimated by injury towards the end of last season which led to them missing out on Champions League football.

Stephan El Shaarawy’s first-half goal gave the Italian side the lead and Abraham sensed the opportunity to grab a second deep in stoppage time.
The former Chelsea forward was presumably eyeing the top corner as he lined up a free-kick from just short of 30 yards out.
But he then proceeded to blast it high over the bar with a rugby-style effort.
Abraham had to stifle a smile as even he found humour in his shocking attempt.

Another added of Abraham: “Jose’s ‘park the bus’ mentality got to his head. Man made a clearance from inside the oppositions half.”
While another said: “I was screaming at the TV when I saw him standing over it.”
Although free-kicks do not appear to be his strong point, Abraham has proven himself to be a more than capable goalscorer in Italy.
He netted 17 goals in the league last season and contributed in Europe as the Italian club claimed the inaugural Europa Conference League.

The 25-year-old’s struggles in front of goal this season was the reason Gareth Southgate cited for his exclusion from the England squad.
Abraham had only scored three league goals before domestic football’s break.
Despite his form and the club’s inconsistent results, Roma are only three points off a Champions League spot in Serie A.
They return to league action on January 4 against Bologna. More
