How the original Inter badge looked
And while the intrigue of their rivals’ badge comes from the cross on their emblem, the interesting part of Inter’s comes in the form of their chosen colours.
The blue and black combination represents the sky and the night.
This explains their nickname, the Nerazzurri, with “Ner” meaning black and “Azzurri” meaning blue.
They are also known affectionately as The Grass Snake or Serpente.

This relates to the emblem of the House of Visconte – a Milan family who controlled the city in the 13th century.
What’s more, the circle of the badge holds within it the letters “FCIM” – which stand for FC Inter Milan.
The club crest was first created in 1908 and modernised in 2014 – but has principally remained the same.
And Inter will be hoping the 2022/23 campaign is a memorable one.

Why do AC Milan and Inter Milan play in the same stadium
The San Siro was constructed in 1926 and was the first home stadium of AC Milan.
During that time, Inter would play their home games in the smaller Arena Civic.
It wasn’t until 1947 that both sides called the San Siro their home ground.

They ground share for many reasons including a lack of alternatives in the city of Milan and simply the convenience for both sets of fans to get to the stadium.
The San Siro is located in the centre of Milan, making it easily accessible for fans of both sides.
To avoid fixtures clashing, the two teams never have home games on the same day.

Both Premier League clubs were heavily linked with a £40million-plus move, especially to the Emirates way back in 2018.
However, he stayed put with his boyhood French club – racking up 231 appearances – although just 16 of those have come this season as he was frozen out amid speculation over his future.
But according to Sky Italia, Aouar has reached an agreement to join Roma when his Lyon contract expires this summer.
The deal is said to just need signatures before being completed.

That will come as a blow to Real Betis and even Manchester United, with both clubs said to be interested and monitoring the situation.
But Aouar looks set to join the Giallorossi and work under Mourinho at the Stadio Olimpico.
Roma – who still have hopes of rising up from seventh to qualify for the Champions League – were first interested in the midfielder last summer.
Aouar joined the Lyon academy aged 11 in 2009 and made his senior first-team debut in February 2017.

He was handed the No8 jersey as a teenager ahead of the 2017-18 season and was nominated for the Golden Boy award the following year.
Aouar forced his way into the 2019-20 Champions League Team of the Season as Lyon knocked Juventus and Manchester City out on the way to the semi-finals.
He earned one senior cap for France in a friendly in October 2020 – after twice pulling out of the squad with injury and Covid.
However, in March 2023 he switched international allegiance to Algeria, the homeland of his parents – and admitted he “regretted” playing for France.

“Is it worth stopping the game and ignoring the context of the outburst afterwards?”
This echoes sickening scenes last month when Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku was sent off following his shushing celebration after being on the end of racist chants from Juventus fans.
Comments made by Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini following the incident were also slammed as “disgusting” by journalist Marco Giordano.
Gasperini told Sky Sport after the game: “Fighting racism? Yes, but we need to differentiate: we too have players like [Mario] Pasalic or [Berat] Djimsiti.
“We don’t need to lump everything together.”
