    SERIE A has been rocked by a new “spygate” drama after a coach was found hiding in a tree while taking notes of a rival training session.Jose Mourinho’s former side Roma reportedly caught a member of staff from upcoming opponents Torino spying at their training ground over the weekend.

    Il Messaggaro claims Michele Orecchio was found hiding in a tree while taking notes by a security guard.
    Roma, now managed by Daniele De Rossi, welcome Torino to the Stadio Olimpico on Monday night.
    And Orecchio was thought to be gathering intel for the upcoming tactical battle.
    It’s not known how long he was hiding for, or how much information he gathered.

    But De Rossi is said to have immediately halted Roma’s session until the coast was clear
    Amazingly, it’s not the first time Orecchio’s been caught spying on the capital club either.
    Last season, he was nabbed while in possession of recording equipment outside Roma’s training ground.
    Orecchio was reportedly busted by Mourinho’s assistant Nuno Santos.

    The Leeds man was caught in the act, but Bielsa insisted he had done nothing “illegal.”

    Serie A star rushed to hospital with MALARIA just ten days after Ivory Coast ace celebrated Afcon victory over Nigeria

    FIORENTINA and Ivory Coast star Christian Kouame has been hospitalised after contracting malaria.The winger, 26, was a part of the Ivorians’ triumph at the Africa Cup of Nations earlier this month.

    But when he returned to Italy to link up with his club, he was suffering from a fever.
    This led to tests in Florence as medics looked to work out the issue.
    And Fiorentina have now confirmed Kouame has been diagnosed with malaria.
    A club statement read: “Christian Kouame took a malaria test on Wednesday morning after developing a fever and a feeling of malaise during the night between February 20th and 21st.

    “The test came back positive.
    “Christian has gone into hospital to receive treatment and will continue to be assessed over the coming days.”
    Kouame, who started three of Ivory Coast’s six games at the tournament, is the third Afcon player to test positive for malaria.
    Mali star Moussa Diarra contracted the illness, while compatriot and Tottenham midfielder Yves Bissouma also tested positive for the virus, but was still available for selection until his country were eliminated in the last 16.

    Kouame, who has 26 international caps, has made 22 appearances for Fiorentina this season, scoring one goal and providing one assist.
    But his departure for Afcon at the beginning of 2024 coincided with a huge downturn in the club’s form.

    Former Premier League striker M’Baye Niang has been rushed to hospital after wrecking his car.The Senegal international spent the first half of 2017 on loan to Watford from AC Milan.

    He made 16 top-flight appearances, scoring in the Hornets’ wins over Burnley and West Brom.
    France-born Niang joined Italian Serie A club Empoli last month from Turks Adana Demirspor.
    But the 29-year-old was rushed to hospital on Tuesday morning after his Mercedes SUV collided with several parked cars in Empoli, near Florence.
    Niang has previously figured in a series of motoring mishaps in Italy and France.

    Empoli sporting director Pietro Accardi said: “M’Baye Niang advised us promptly about the accident that took place.
    “As a club we know that since the lad’s arrival at Empoli he has usually gone out early each morning, to join a prayer group with others who practise the same faith as him.

    “M’Baye is well.  He passed all the normal tests from the competent authorities.”

    Former Chelsea flop Ruben Loftus-Cheek records feat not seen in 17 years as he scores twice for AC Milan

    RUBEN LOFTUS-CHEEK matched a record for AC Milan on Thursday that has been unbroken since 2007.The midfielder has made a strong impression on Milan fans since moving from Chelsea last summer, and looks to have finally put his injury struggles behind him.

    The midfielder has made 26 appearances in all competitions for the Rossoneri this season, scoring seven goals and making two assists.
    He added another two to his tally last night as Milan swept Rennes aside 3-0 in the Europa League.
    In scoring his brace, he became the first player to score two or more goals in a European knockout game for the club since Kaka in 2007.
    Kaka’s double came against Manchester United in the 2006-07 edition of the Champions League when he scored two remarkable individual goals at Old Trafford.

    Loftus-Cheek’s brace took his tally to five goals in his last five appearances as Milan enter the business end of the season.
    Speaking after the victory, Loftus-Cheek said: “Tonight was incredible at home.

    Paul Pogba ‘could return to the pitch tomorrow’ as ex-Man Utd’s star’s agent gives update on doping scandal

    PAUL POGBA could “return to the pitch tomorrow”, claims his agent Rafaela Pimenta.The former Manchester United star, 30, has been out of action since September after testing positive for banned substance DHEA, a precursor hormone of testosterone.

    Pogba will have to undergo trial at the National Anti-Doping Tribunal.
    Proceedings were initially supposed to get under way on January 18th, but the date was pushed back.
    Pimenta has denied that Pogba intended to break the rules, telling Tuttosport last year: “We’re waiting for the counter-analysis and we can’t say anything now.
    “For sure, Pogba never wanted to bend the rules — I can guarantee that.”

    The agent has since offered a further update on the Frenchman’s status, telling Calciomercato: “Pogba could return to the pitch tomorrow.
    “He is ready for any situation, he is also a champion mentally. He takes a blow, digests it and moves on.
    “He didn’t move forward irresponsibly, he trains knowing that he must be ready.”
    Still contracted to Juventus, Pogba believes that he has a point to prove in his career.
