France’s record scorer stormed over to referee Rosario Abisso and shouted in his face.
Play was stopped and Giroud was booked for the outburst, but that did not stop him continuing to give the official a piece of his mind.
When he stormed away, Abisso pulled out a red card and sent Giroud off.
The former Premier League star turned around and, when he realised he had been dismissed, he attempted to argue with the decision once more.

He eventually walked off the pitch, before Lecce scored from the resulting free-kick, only for the goal to be chalked off by VAR for a foul in the build-up as Milan held on to a point.
The result leaves AC Milan six points behind Serie A leaders Juventus and five adrift of local rivals Inter Milan.
Giroud’s nine goals have come in 16 games so far this season – taking his overall tally for Milan to 40 in 100 matches. More

Weah had fired PSG to a Ligue 1 title and two domestic cups before sealing a move to Italy, where he would go on to lift two Serie A trophies.
The Liberian was a trailblazer for African football in Europe and is widely regarded as one of the greatest players the continent has ever produced.
After spells at Chelsea and Manchester City, Weah retired and forged a career in politics.
The 57-year-old was elected as president of Liberia in 2018, becoming the first ever professional footballer to be sworn into office and lead his country.

Giroud, 37, put his side in the lead against the reigning Serie A champs with his two first-half strikes.
Chelsea’s ex-striker fired in a header from Christian Pulisic’s cross and then repeated the trick just minutes later from Davide Calabria’s pass.
But Napoli hit back in the second half after Matteo Politano’s breakthrough and Giacomo Raspadori’s free-kick.
And the French international was fuming when he was replaced by Noah Okafor later in the game.

As he was taken off the pitch, the Rossoneri frontman refused to sit on the bench.
He apologised to his boss Pioli for the outburst after the game.
Giroud said to Sky Sport Italia: “I am only human, I am not a robot. I felt disappointed because I was convinced I could help my team-mates, that I still had energy left and wanted to stay on.
“Of course, after five minutes I calmed down and apologised to the coach.

“I respect his decisions and I just want what is best for the team. I was frustrated because we should’ve won this game.”
Giroud then revealed his frustration of losing the two-goal lead at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.
He continued: “On a personal level, I am happy for the two goals and grateful for the two great crosses from my team-mates.
“However, I am disappointed with the result. We had the opportunity to win the game and created so many chances, but were unable to put the game to bed.”
AC Milan are third in Serie A, three points behind rivals Inter, and have failed to make a breakthrough in their Champions League group stage fixtures.
They have had two draws and one defeat in Group F and the French veteran said a failure to take chances is costing them at home and abroad.
He added: “We created so many chances against Newcastle and Borussia Dortmund, but were not clinical enough. Today we could’ve had four or five goals.
“Napoli reacted after our great first half. We knew it would be tougher after the break and their confidence was revitalised by their first goal, but we still could’ve done better.” More

David Moyes’ side have proven to still be a capable team despite the loss of Declan Rice in the summer.
The England international completed a £105million transfer away from the club as he joined London rivals Arsenal.
West Ham spent the money wisely as stars such as James Ward-Prowse and Edson Alvarez arrived to bolster the midfield.
However, the club could look to further invest in strengthening the squad with a move for Locatelli.

Italian outlet Tutto Mercato has claimed that the Hammers are willing to offer the Serie A gianst £35m for Locatelli.
The report does suggest that the bid will fail as Juventus are keen to offer the Italian a new contract.
West Ham are not the first Premier League outfit to have been linked with a move for the international ace.
Arsenal have also been touted with an interest in the midfielder in the past.

It was reported earlier this year that Locatelli rejected a move to the Emirates.
Locatelli’s brother Mattia has explained that the love he has for Juventus was behind his decision to reject a switch to the Gunners.
Speaking to Calcio Mercato, he said: “I still remember the negotiation [with Juventus]. For him it was very long.
“There was also Arsenal, but he wanted Juventus. The clubs kept meeting, but without reaching an agreement.
Where Locatelli could fit into David Moyes’ team
“Every day I looked at the Gazzetta to check. In Sassuolo he trained separately, in him the desire to change. A real emotion.
“On the day of his debut, he sent us a photo with the shirt and the words ‘I made it’.”
Continuing to describe Locatelli’s love for Juve, Mattia added: “He gives everything for Juve. He loves those colours.
“The first days? It didn’t seem real to him. And then I realised there was a reason he was there with them.
“Manuel is very happy to be there.”

However, should West Ham be able to convince him to leave his beloved Juventus, then their midfield could look even stronger.
Locatelli could line-up alongside Ward-Prowse and Alvarez in the middle of the pitch in what would be a trio that could rival many of the top clubs in the Premier League. More
