David Silva’s dad confirms Man City icon, 34, wants Italy transfer amid Lazio interest and could play until he’s 40

DAVID SILVA’S dad confirmed the Manchester City icon wants to play in Italy and could play on until he’s 40.
It comes following speculation Silva – who is leaving the Etihad after ten years – has been offered a lucrative contract by Lazio.

    1

David Silva’s dad confirmed the Manchester City icon wants to play in Italy
The Spaniard has attracted attention from across Europe and America, but fancies a crack at Serie A.
Silva’s dad Fernando told Spanish radio programme El Transistor: “One day he tells me one thing and the next he tells me another.
“Personally I would like him to remain in Europe and until the transfer window shuts, I can’t rule out anything.
“I can confirm that he likes the Italian league and would really enjoy playing in Italy. He told me he could play there until he’s 40 years old.

“At the moment, there are many offers and he has to decide, but I’d love it if he signed for Lazio, because even if Rome is quite far away, it’d be a huge opportunity for him.
“I know it’s unlikely he’ll come back to Spain, as he always tells me to rule out the idea of a return to Valencia.”
According to Tuttosport, Lazio have tabled a deal worth £52,000 a week.
They have also thrown in some luxury selling points for Spanish veteran Silva, including his own private jet and a luxury pad in the heart of Rome.

But incredibly, it does not seem enough for the World Cup winner.
The playmaker collected £220,000 a week at City and although he is prepared to take a substantial pay cut, Lazio are still significantly below his wage demands.
According to Il Tempo, Silva is looking for around £86,000 per week to make the move.

PSG ready to snub ‘dream’ Cristiano Ronaldo transfer to focus on new Mbappe and Neymar deals despite long-term interest

PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN look set to turn their backs on a stunning summer bid for Juventus superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Ligue 1 champions, who have been after the 35-year-old’s signature for almost a decade, are rumoured to have been pondering a move to bring the Portugal skipper to France.

PSG look set to snub stunning summer transfer move for Juve star Cristiano Ronaldo
However, ESPN claim the club are reportedly leaning towards extending the contracts of Kylian Mbappe, and the world’s most expensive footballer Neymar instead.
Both players have deals to keep them at the club until at least 2022.
And reports suggest PSG officials have prioritised efforts to seal extensions on their star attackers’ contracts before turning their attention towards new transfers.
Earlier this week incredible claims in French media suggested Ronaldo had come close to joining PSG before the Covid-19 lockdown.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner, who joined Juventus from Real Madrid in a £88million 2018 move, had dreams of playing alongside Brazil star Neymar and France striker Mbappe, according to ESPN.
And the former Manchester United star is reported to have been a top target for PSG’s owners Qatar Sports Investment.
QSI had hoped to make Ronaldo a marquee signing on a number of occasions.
This includes a rumoured bid in 2014 when the then Real Madrid star helped the La Liga giants to La Decima, the club’s tenth European cup.

It would seem Ronaldo appears publically unfazed by speculation linking him with a move away from Juve to Paris.
Earlier this week on Instagram the Portugal star hailed the return of this season’s yet to be completed Champion’s League contest.
In his post Ronaldo shared a caption which read: “The beautiful competition is back. #forzajuve.

Reports claim Ronaldo, who has two years remaining on his current contract with Juventus, is eager to win a Champion’s League trophy with the Serie A title holders.
The Italian giants will play Lyon behind closed doors at Juventus  in the second leg of their round 16 tie in the competition.
And the club, who are unbeaten in their last two home European games against the French side, need to overturn a one-nil loss from the first leg.

Ronaldo bagged a hat-trick at the same stage of the tournament last season to help the Italian giants overturn Atletico’s 2-0 first-leg advantage.
Juve won the tie 3-2 on aggregate and Szczesny is backing the 35-year-old to do the same again in Turin tomorrow night.
He told Tuttosport: “I see a team ready, there is an environment similar to last year before the match against Atletico Madrid.

    3

“We can do it again this year, again Ronaldo’s hat-trick? Nobody in the world has doubts that Cristiano can do it again.

“As usual at the decisive times he makes the difference, he is ready to perform another miracle.
“We are playing for an important goal, finding the motivation is not difficult, we are all concentrated.

“Lyon seem physically fit, they also seem ready to play, we’ll see who will reach the quarter-finals.”
The winners will face Manchester City or Real Madrid in the quarter final in Lisbon.

Twins Eva and Mateo were joined by Alana Martina, whose mother is the player’s partner Georgina Rodriguez, as Ronaldo captioned the pic: “Feeling loved.”
The superstar footballer has displayed fantastic versatility in front of the bathroom mirror since the coronavirus lockdown began.
Going into football’s shutdown with a top-knot, he returned to the pitch with the style freshly groomed by beau Georgina.
While isolating in Madeira, the model cut Ronaldo’s hair with an electric razor as he told fans to “stay home and keep stylish”.

Since Serie A got back underway, the winger has most recently appeared with a fuzzy mop, sporting the do while he lifted the Scudetto trophy.
And Ronaldo has occasionally gone back to his classic, slicked-back quiff to tame his curls.

Juve and their top scorer will be back in action on Friday night in the Champions League.
A last-16 second leg against Lyon sees the French side arrive in Turin with a 1-0 advantage from the spring’s reverse fixture.

Sitting out the weekend’s final league game, Ronaldo enjoyed time on holiday with his family – even being surrounded by fans as he floated on a yacht.
Should Juventus complete a turnaround in pursuit of the Portuguese attacker’s sixth Champions League crown, Manchester City or Real Madrid will be next up in the quarter-finals.

Silva is yet to decide on his next club and for now is focusing on City’s Champions League Last 16 second leg against Real Madrid tomorrow.
But reports in Italy suggest Lazio have offered Silva a whole host of benefits to help lure him to the Stadio Olimpico.
Tuttosport reports the Serie A side have tabled a deal worth £52,000 a week.
They have also thrown in some luxury selling points for Spanish veteran Silva, 34, including his own private jet and a luxury pad in the heart of Rome.

But incredibly, it does not seem enough for Silva.
The talented playmaker collects £220,000 a week at City and although he is prepared to take a substantial pay cut, Lazio are still significantly below his wage demands.
According to Il Tempo, Silva is looking for around £86,000 per week to make the move.

Lazio finished fourth in Serie A as 36 league goals from Golden Shoe winner Ciro Immobile helped fire them to Champions League qualification for the first time in 13 years.

Four-time Premier League winner Silva is believed to be the club’s No1 transfer target and they are working on sealing the deal with his representatives.
Silva is not thought to have been short of offers with reports he has already rejected moves to the MLS and the UAE and was previously linked with a return to his homeland with Real Betis.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic keeps himself fit with yacht workout amid Leeds transfer talk as wife Helena Seger tops up tan

ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC took a moment during his sun soaked holiday to keep fit on a yacht in the Med.
While his family frollicked on the boat and in the water, the Swedish maestro couldn’t resist a work out with resistance bands and press-up routines.

Ibrahimovic’s partner, Helena Seger, also enjoyed a session on the yacht’s fitness equipment.
In between workouts, she topped up her tan with Zlatan, 38, seen applying sun tan lotion to his beau as they floated near the French resort of Saint-Tropez.
The couple’s two sons, Maximilian and Vincent, are understood to have been among the family members relaxing on the boat.
There has been much speculation over where Ibrahimovic will be playing his football next season.

Leeds and the striker’s own club Hammarby have been linked with moves but AC Milan are reportedly ready to sign him up once again.
Out of contract, Ibrahimovic was nonetheless featured in the Rossoneri’s kit release for the upcoming campaign.

With 11 goals since he rejoined Milan from LA Galaxy in January, he has reportedly been offered a double-your-money deal to stay with the Serie A team.
A new £104,000-a-week deal to keep Ibrahimovic at the San Siro into his forties is said to be on the table.

However he declared only last month that sticking around to play in the Europa League is not of huge interest to him.
The veteran told La Gazzetta dello Sport: “Ibra was born to play football and is still the best at playing football.

“We’ll see how I feel in two months.
“We’ll also see what’s happening with the club. If this is the situation, to be honest, it’s unlikely you’ll see me at Milan next season.
“Ibra is not a player for the Europa League and Milan are not a club who belong in the Europa League.”

Juventus ‘lining up replacements for Maurizio Sarri after just one season with Mauricio Pochettino on shortlist’

JUVENTUS are reportedly already lining up candidates to replace under-fire boss Maurizio Sarri – including Mauricio Pochettino.
The ex-Chelsea manager’s team survived a couple of late scares to secure their ninth consecutive Serie A title in his debut season at the helm.

But club chiefs are unhappy with the 61-year-old’s work in Turin.
And according to Tutto Mercato, the Italian could be sacked if his side fail to overturn a 1-0 Champions League deficit to Lyon on Friday night.
Sarri’s future is said to be hanging by a thread, with his 13 months in charge all coming down to the conclusion of Juventus’ Champions League campaign over the coming days and potentially weeks.
And such are his bosses’ doubts over his tenure, that they have already sounded out FOUR different managers that could replace him at Allianz Stadium.

At the top of their current wishlist is former Spurs boss Pochettino.
The Argentine had been a contender for the post last year, but Tottenham’s hefty release clause scared the Serie A champions away from making a move.
But now that Pochettino is a free agent, and willing, a deal could far more feasibly go ahead.
The 48-year-old recently turned down a move to AS Monaco, but is still believed to be plotting his return to management.

Zinedine Zidane is a dream appointment for Juventus, particularly given his ties with the club as a player – as well as the allure he would possess in convincing Paul Pogba to return.

The Frenchman is unwilling to leave his work at Real Madrid, however, having just clinched the LaLiga title.
Despite Lazio falling away horribly post-restart, Simone Inzaghi has impressed Juve with his work in the capital, and is under consideration.
Gian Piero Gasperini, who was a product of the Juventus academy in the 1970s, is the fourth potential candidate to have been sounded out, having lead Atalanta to the Champions League quarter-finals this season.

Newcastle in fresh takeover talk with Roma’s billionaire owner James Pallotta linked after Saudi’s £300m deal collapses

ROMA’S billionaire owner James Pallotta could launch a bid to take over Newcastle – if he can agree the sale of the Serie A club.
Magpies fans were left devastated after the £300million proposed Saudi takeover collapsed, after the consortium led by Amanda Staveley pulled out.

They blamed the prolonged process of being approved by the Premier League as one of the key reasons for withdrawing their interest in buying the club.
Newcastle owner Mike Ashley – who stands to pocked £17m despite the takeover falling through – is still desperate to sell the club ahead of the new season.
It has been claimed that he has given US tycoon Henry Mauriss an August 14 deadline to get a deal over the line.
And fresh reports have stated that Mauriss could have competition in the race to buy Newcastle from compatriot Pallotta.

The 62-year-old became the co-owner and chairman of Roma in 2011, but in the last year he has been trying to get the club off his hands.
According to Tuttomercatoweb via The Northern Echo, discussions have been in an advanced stage in the last month, with The Friedkin Group close to buying Roma for £450m.
Should this materialise, then it has been alleged that he could reinvest this money into Newcastle.

The Northern Echo also state that Pallotta has declined to comment on rumours that he could be set to enter talks with Ashley.
There is still faint hope from supporters that the Saudi takeover could be revived with Magpies chief Lee Charnley insisting the deal may not be dead in the water.
Some 32,000 devastated and angry fans have signed a petition urging PM Boris Johnson to order a probe into the failed takeover.
