Luis Suarez arrives to take Italian exam which Barcelona star MUST pass or Juventus transfer deal will collapse

LUIS SUAREZ has arrived to take his Italian language exam which he MUST pass for his Juventus transfer to go through.
The Barcelona star is required to take a citizenship level B1 Italian test in order to get a passport.

    3

Luis Suarez arrived at the University for Foreigners Perugia for his Italian language test

    3

The Barca striker is seeking Italian citizenship ahead of a potential move to Juventus

And he was pictured pulling up at the University for Foreigners Perugia in a taxi to sit the exam on Thursday afternoon.
Onlookers shouted jibes about Giorgio Chiellini who Suarez famously bit at the 2014 World Cup and will be his captain if the Juve move goes through.
Suarez’s wife Sofia Balbi is an Italian citizen which means the ex-Liverpool striker qualifies for citizenship too if he passes.

The B1 test lasts about four hours and costs between £155 and £190.
And it involves listening, reading, speaking, grammar and sentence stucture.
Once the exam is passed it must be submitted alongside a citizenship application.
And SunSport pulled together some Italian phrases which Uruguayan Suarez – whose first language is Spanish – might find useful.

‘Mordere’ means bite, ‘Tuffo’ means dive and ‘Dove si trova Messi?’ is what he would utter when asking where his old pal Lionel Messi has got to.

Manager Andrea Pirlo only pockets £1.6million-per-year after taking charge of the club

Suarez has been heavily linked with Juve since new Barca boss Ronald Koeman told him he was surplus to requirements at the Nou Camp.
The 33-year-old is being lined up as Gonzalo Higuain’s replacement and is having to get full citizenship as Juventus have used up their quota of non-EU players with Arthur and Weston McKennie.
Barcelona are keen to get him out to free up space – and cash – for the likes of Memphis Depay to come in.
Suarez is reportedly demanding to be paid the full £15million he is due to earn this season in order to be bought out of the contract.

    3

The striker clambered out of a cab before making his way through crowds and into the building
Barcelona were initially unwilling and wanted Juventus to buy him out instead but the Old Lady were also not keen.
But Barca have relaxed their stance and would be open to stumping up part of the £15m.
This would see with Juventus paying what they want and the Catalans making up the rest.
It is thought Suarez is demanding a three-year contract at his next club but concedes he will need to drop his wages.

Christian Eriksen in another blow with Tottenham NOT interested in transfer reunion and Inter Milan looking to offload

CHRISTIAN ERIKSEN was handed yet another blow with Tottenham not interested in a reunion with the unwanted Inter Milan man.
It is thought the Serie A giants are looking to try and offload the Danish playmaker, just eight months after he joined.

    1

According to Calciomercato, Inter boss Antonio Conte is still desperate to land N’Golo Kante this summer while Arturo Vidal is another transfer target.
But the club would need to sell first in order to free up cash – and Eriksen is seen as dispensable.
Conte does not see the playmaker as an integral member of the team – as proven by the fact he started just 11 of his 26 Inter appearances last season.

He did manage four goals but the Italian boss is reportedly concerned by his laziness, especially out of possession, and his wastefulness in front of goal.
The 28-year-old still has four years left on his contract at the San Siro following his £16.9million January move.
Eriksen is thought to be on around £130,000 but the problem is there are no clubs chasing after him.
SunSport understands Tottenham would not consider bringing him back to White Hart Lane as they are with Gareth Bale.

And any suggestions the ex-Ajax man could join Zenit St Petersburg were emphatically shut down.

Man City eye Sevilla defender Jules Kounde as Koulibaly transfer alternative with Otamendi to be used as makeweight

MANCHESTER City are eyeing Sevilla defender Jules Kounde as an alternative to Kalidou Koulibaly.
The Napoli centre-back has proved difficult to lure away and now Etihad chiefs have turned their attention to Spain.

Any deal for Kounde could see Nicolas Otamendi move in the opposite direction.
The Telegraph reports that Kounde, 21, has been earmarked by Real Madrid and Barcelona as a future transfer but Pep Guardiola may swoop this window to help reinforce City’s defence.
The France Under-21 international was a major part of Sevilla’s Europa League win over Inter last month and his reputation continues to rise.
But his 68 million euros release clause may prove a potential sticking point.

Otamendi, who has spent over five years at the club, is reportedly being considered as a makeweight to help secure any potential deal.
The Spanish club have expressed an interest in the 32-year-old and City are willing to let him go.
The two-time Premier League winner has only a couple years left on his current contract and could help slash a fee to capture Kounde.
The Manchester club have already signed a defender this window in the form of Nathan Ake from Bournemouth for big money.

    3

City have yet to find a way to prise Koulibaly to England
But Guardiola is believed to want to add more with City’s defensive flaws one of the reasons their title defence was so feeble last season.
They are still rebuilding after the departure of Vincent Kompany last summer.
The Belgian defender left the club after helping them to squeeze past Liverpool in the intense 2018/19 title race.
Koulibaly has long been seen as a potential replacement but the player continues to be in limbo as the two clubs clash in negotiations.

City and Napoli have bad blood between them after Jorginho, who looked set to come to the Etihad, instead joined his old manager Maurizio Sarri at Chelsea.
The Premier League runners-up have also considered Uruguay centre-back Jose Gimenez but Atletico Madrid’s asking price of £81million plus add-ons makes a move difficult.
City’s executives always try to stick to their policy of not paying over market value, and have never broken the £70million mark – even for stars like Kevin De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling. More

Man Utd transfer target Amad Traore ‘plays just like Lionel Messi’, according to Atalanta team-mate

MANCHESTER UNITED target Amad Traore has been likened to Lionel Messi by an Atalanta team-mate.
The 18-year-old burst on to the scene with the Italian side last season, scoring on his Serie A debut against Udinese.

And amid interest from the Red Devils, team-mate Papu Gomez has compared his young team-mate with six-time Ballon d’Or winner Messi.
The Atalanta favourite, 32, said on an Instagram Live: “He plays like Messi.
“There are defenders in the first-team that sometimes cannot stop him. To stop him in training, we have to kick him.”
According to the MEN, United are keen on the Ivorian winger.

But they do NOT see him as an alternative to Jadon Sancho.
Traore appeared just twice more in Serie A after his goalscoring debut, making cameos from the bench against Juventus and Parma.
He appeared predominantly for Atalanta’s youth side last season, impressing with his performances.
Traore bagged six goals and five assists in 16 appearances in the Primavera 1 division last term.

And he also made an impression on the Uefa Youth League – scoring once and assisting a further three.
This form in Uefa’s junior competition earned him a spot in the matchday squad for the real thing, when Atalanta faced Shakhtar in the Champions League group stage.
If the Serie A side can fend off Man United’s interest this summer, they could send their promising teenager on loan to Parma for the upcoming Italian campaign.

Tottenham outcast Danny Rose set for Genoa transfer after not being given squad number following Mourinho bust-up

DANNY ROSE is set to join Genoa after being frozen out at Tottenham, according to reports.
The left-back signed for Newcastle on loan in January after a falling out with manager Jose Mourinho.

But the Magpies didn’t make a bid to acquire Rose, 30, on a permanent deal, instead opting to sign Jamal Lewis from Norwich.
According to the Mirror, however, Rose WILL get his Spurs escape this summer – with Serie A side Genoa on the verge of completing a deal.
The Italians are in advanced talks with Spurs and are “open” to a permanent transfer or a loan.

Even the latter would all but end Rose’s 13-year stay at Tottenham, with the England international having just one year left on his contract in North London.
Upon his return from Newcastle, Rose has been training with Spurs’ Under-23s in a bid to get fit for the new season.
And he has been stripped of his No3 shirt, only finding out when phoned by a friend who told him the news was on TV – according to The Athletic.
Tottenham have Ben Davies and Ryan Sessegnon as left-back options – while teenager Dennis Cirkin is highly thought of.

But the Lilywhites appear on the verge of sealing another option – with Real Madrid left-back Sergio Reguilon set to join for around £25million.

Spurs beat Manchester United to the Spaniard, 23, with official confirmation of the deal expected imminently.
And Tottenham are also on the brink of sealing another huge transfer coup, with Gareth Bale set to return after seven years at Real Madrid.
Chairman Daniel Levy is set to seal a £20m loan move for the Welshman, 31, with the ex-Spurs star having reportedly passed a medical.

Cengiz Under closing in on Leicester loan transfer with Roma agreement reached with obligation to buy

LEICESTER have reportedly reached an agreement with Roma to sign Cengiz Under on loan with an obligation to buy for £24.6million.
SunSport reported last weekend how the Foxes were keen to bring the Turkish international, 23, to the King Power Stadium.

Both Arsenal and Manchester United have been linked with the winger this window, but it is Brendan Rodgers’s side who are in pole position to land him.

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has stated how Leicester have stepped up their pursuit of Under after having a bid rejected by Barcelona for Francisco Trincao.
He tweeted: “Leicester are close to sign Cengiz Under from AS Roma!

“The agreement is going to be reached on loan with obligation to buy.
“After having an official bid refused by Barcelona for Trincao, #LCFC are now working to sign Under.”
Writing for the Guardian, Romano then claimed that Leicester will permanently sign the forward for £24.6m.
He stated that the Foxes are ready to hand him him a deal until 2025, with personal terms not believed to be an issue.

It has even been said that Under should become a Leicester player in the coming week.
Roma are willing to let him leave as he has failed to nail down a regular starting spot in Italy.

Man Utd eye Atalanta winger Amad Traore, 18, as shock transfer replacement for Jadon Sancho as deal stalls

MANCHESTER UNITED are eyeing Atalanta winger Amad Traore as a shock alternative to Jadon Sancho, according to reports.
A deal for the Dortmund winger has stalled and has left the Premier League club looking elsewhere.

    2

Amad Traore is attracting the interest of Man United and other clubs in Europe18-year-old Traore is seen as a big prospect and was a part of the Champions League squad for Atalanta’s quarter-final tie against Paris Saint-Germain.
The Manchester Evening News report that the Red Devils have contacted the Italians as other clubs become interested in the teen.
But MEN suggest he is not seen by club sources as an immediate Sancho substitute.
Despite the interest, the right-sided midfielder only achieved 30 minutes on the pitch in Serie A last season.

He did make a big impact in his first appearance, however, when he became the youngest player, at 17 years and 109 days old, to score on his league debut as Atalanta crushed Udinese 7-1.
This dynamite start was only rewarded with two further senior appearances.
In the Under 19 team, where he was a regular, Traore hit seven goals and 11 assists in 24 games.
Along with Man United, rivals Manchester City are rumoured to also be keen.

Arsenal and Juventus are also believed to be admirers in the youngsters.
If Atalanta can fend off the European giants, he has been linked with a loan move to Parma.
Meanwhile, Manchester United’s move for Sancho continues to go nowhere fast.
The English international played in Dortmund’s 5-0 German Cup rout over MSV Duisburg on Monday, where ex-United target Jude Belligham also scored.

United are believed to have made progress over Sancho’s wages and agents’ fees but the Bundesliga side are still holding out for £108million to allow the player to leave.
Old Trafford chiefs are working frantically to try and bring that valuation down as they are unwilling to splash the cash post-covid.
Another potential Sancho replacement target, Gareth Bale, appears to be on his way to Tottenham who are edging ahead in the race for the Real Madrid man.

With Bale close to shock Tottenham return, which comebacks were a success and which were flops?

THEY say never go back… but don’t tell Gareth Bale.
The Real Madrid star is nearing a stunning loan deal to return to Tottenham after seven years away.

After a somewhat tepid time under Jose Mourinho, Spurs fans will be desperate for their former hero to bang in the goals like the good old days.
Bale notched 56 goals and 58 assists in over 200 appearances before his £85million exit in 2013.
But, with a dodgy injury record and a poor relationship with Zinedine Zidane leading to plenty of time spent on the sidelines, there will be plenty of doubters ahead of his return.
Here, SunSport details four comeback kids Bale can look to for inspiration – and three he dare not emulate.

    THIERRY HENRY

    8

Arguably no player has had as big an impact at one club during the Premier League era as Thierry Henry at Arsenal.
Few could blame the Frenchman for trying his luck with Barcelona after eight years in North London – especially as he went on to win the treble.
Eventually heading to North America, Henry found himself at a loose end in January 2012 and fancied a trip to see some old friends.

A two-month loan deal was sorted and he reminded Gooners why he was so adored with a winning goal on his debut, against Leeds in the FA Cup.
Henry played seven games during his second spell and left on a high, bagging a stoppage-time winner in his final appearance.
    MARIO GOTZE

    8

Injuries and a mystery illness got in the way of Mario Gotze’s Borussia Dortmund comebackCredit: Getty – Contributor
Mario Gotze, like most top German players, signed for Bayern Munich while at the peak of his powers.
The manner of the 2013 switch irked Borussia Dortmund but the player, who was briefly Germany’s all-time record transfer, actually struggled in Bavaria.
Three years later, he returned and admitted: “I can look at [the move] now through different eyes. I can easily understand that many fans could not understand my decision. I would not make that decision now.”
Far from the fairytale return, Gotze managed just 16 games for Borussia the following season.
Things barely improved and the World Cup winner was released this summer.
    DIDIER DROGBA

    8

Returning legends can make as big an impact off the pitch as on it, as Didier Drogba showed.
The Ivorian was far from his prime when pitching up at Chelsea for a second spell in 2014.
Time in China and Turkey had drained more than a yard of pace from the striker, aged 36 as he rejoined.
Yet he embodied the Blues’ return to normalcy, coinciding with Mourinho’s second term as manager to bag a Premier League title.
A talisman around the entirety of the club, Drogba even helped out with vital goals against Spurs, Manchester United and Leicester en route to his fourth league crown.
    KAKA

    8

Brazilian playmaker Kaka’s decline was confirmed with a middling return to MilanCredit: AFP
If any player’s return was set up like Bale’s, it is the story of Kaka.
Departing AC Milan in 2009 as one of the world’s best players, the Brazilian became a classic Galactico signing for Real Madrid.
Like Bale, he had his moments in Spain but ultimately struggled to shake off injuries and titles were often evasive.
Upon departing Real, Kaka was compelled to relive his Milan glory days and signed a free transfer in 2013.
Tearing his hamstring in his first game, he bounced back to score a reasonable seven goals at the San Siro as the Rossoneri drifted to a disappointing eighth-placed finish.
    DIRK KUYT

    8

Returning to your old team can often be a bit of an anticlimax… but not for Dirk Kuyt.
The underrated Dutchman headed back to Feyenoord in 2015 on the hunt for one last heroic moment to cap his career.
It finally arrived in his last game for the club, Kuyt bagging a final day hat-trick to seal Feyenoord’s first Eredivisie title in 18 years – which the captain lifted himself.
In fact, he isn’t the only Premier League favourite with a fantastic Feyenoord return under their belts.
Robin van Persie returned to Rotterdam for his final 18 months as a professional, scoring 25 times and lifting the KNVB Cup.
    JOE COLE

    8

Joe Cole could not recover his best form after almost a decade away from West HamCredit: Times Newspapers Ltd
West Ham fans must be yearning for the sort of talents that used to pass through the club, before they were sold on.
Rio Ferdinand, Frank Lampard and Joe Cole all left for success elsewhere – but one did come back.
A home league debut equaliser against QPR provided hope of things to come but Cole was not the midfield maestro who had terrified defences for Chelsea in years gone by.
In an 18-month stay at Upton Park, Cole failed to establish himself in the team.
The Hammers beat relegation in 2013/14 after a strong second half of the campaign, although the ex-England ace rarely featured when they won.
    MARK HUGHES

    8

British players heading abroad tend to produce mixed results, as Mark Hughes can attest.
Sparky’s trip to Spain was far less fruitful than Bale’s would prove to be, spending just a season with Barcelona before being loaned to Bayern Munich.

New Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson wanted the striker back in England and handed over £1.8m to sign him, £200,000 less than Barcelona had paid the Red Devils two years previous.
Hughes quickly became a staple as Fergie began to build his first imperious side.
Two Premier League titles and two FA Cups were among his achievements in a seven-year second spell, as well as a pair of PFA Player of the Year gongs.
