Man Utd complete £37m transfer for 18-year-old Amad Traore from Atalanta as Solskjaer looks to future talent

MANCHESTER UNITED have landed exciting teenage prospect Amad Traore in a £37million deal.
The club completed the transfer of the 18-year-old winger from Atalanta with just two hours to go to the transfer deadline.

Work permit problems mean he will not actually join the club until January.
The deal is worth £19m up front with a further £18m to come based on appearances and achievements.
United have scouted Traore for four years, as he came through the Serie A club’s academy, which is regarded as one of the best in Italy.
Equally good with both feet he can play on either wing.

Traore scored just four minutes into his league debut last October after coming on as a 79th-minute substitute in a 7-1 home win over Udinese.
The Ivorian made just three appearances in Italy’s top flight last season but was being watched by a host of top club’s around Europe.
United were first alerted to his talent in 2016 when a scout reported on his performance in an Under-15s game.
The signing is not being seen in any way as a threat to current players like Mason Greenwood but boosting the squad.

    2

The teenager will link up with his new team-mates at Old Trafford in January

As it is Greenwood will eventually move into a central striker’s role.
The moves come after United failed to get an agreement to sign 20-year-old Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund.
Also they were only ever going to try and get Ousmane Dembele on loan from Barcelona while the Spanish giants wanted a permanent move.
Earlier on deadline day, the Red Devils did secure the £15.3m signing of Porto left-back Alex Telles.
The Brazilian said: “To join a club with the prestige of Manchester United is a huge honour.
“I won many trophies at FC Porto and I want to continue that at United. The manager has a clear plan and direction for this team and I can’t wait to pull on the famous shirt.”

Man Utd sell Chris Smalling to Roma as Italians finally meet £18m transfer price tag for defender

CHRIS SMALLING has finally left Manchester United, joining AS Roma on a permanent basis for £18million.
The England international, 30, spent last season on loan in the Italian capital, and was a hit with the club’s fans and manager Paulo Fonseca.

Roma have spent the entire summer haggling with the Red Devils over the defender, as they struggled to match United’s asking price.
But they always remained confident of signing their man, even including him in their 2020-21 kit launch.
The deal went down to the wire, however, being completed just ONE minute before the Serie A deadline at 8pm.
United will receive an initial £13.5m upfront for the 30-year-old.

And Roma could be made to stump up another £4.5m in add-ons.
Smalling was signed by Sir Alex Ferguson from Fulham in 2010.
And the Londoner went on to make 323 appearances for the Red Devils, winning two Premier League titles along the way.
But having fallen down the pecking order following the £80m arrival of Harry Maguire last summer, the writing was on the wall for the 31-cap international.

An incredible club, that I am proud to have been a part of. 10 years ago I could have only dreamt of everything we have achieved. I wish you all my very best, whilst I am saddened to leave I know you will continue to achieve great things! 🔴 https://t.co/tFjToL4rvb

Since returning to United for pre-season, Smalling has been training away from the rest of the first-team squad, so as not to enter their bubble.
It looked as though Roma had planned for missing out on their No1 target, when they secured the signing of Marash Kumbulla on loan from Hellas Verona last week.
But with just a minute to spare, they finally got their man.

Bayern Munich re-sign Douglas Costa on season-long loan transfer from Juventus and shock Choupo-Moting deal from PSG

BAYERN MUNICH have resigned Douglas Costa on a season-long loan from Juventus.
The German giants have also announced the arrival of Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting from Paris Saint-Germain

Manchester United had also been linked to Costa as an alternative to Jadon Sancho.
But Bayern have confirmed the arrival of the 30-year-old – who played for them from 2015 until 2017.
After his move was announced, Costa said: “I am very happy to play for FC Bayern again.
“I had a wonderful time in Munich with many successes and I am sure that we will win titles again now. ”

Bayern Sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic added: “Douglas will strengthen us on the outer tracks that are important for our game.
“We are now very well staffed with Serge Gnabry, Leroy Sane, Kingsley Coman, Jamal Musiala and Douglas.
“This gives the trainer the opportunity to sensibly dose the individual assignments.

“Douglas knows FC Bayern and will find his way around very quickly. ”
Costa scored 14 goals in 77 games during his first spell with Bayern Munich.

He went on to score 10 goals in 103 appearances for Juventus following his move to Italy.
But he was left searching for a new club this summer as he was deemed surplus to requirements by Andrea Pirlo.
Bayern boss Hans-Dieter Flick has also added 31-year-old striker Choupo-Moting to his squad.
He has signed a deal to keep him at the club until 30 June 2021.
Coupo-Moting arrives as a free agent after his deal with French giants PSG expired.
He joined the Ligue 1 side in August 2018, but made just 13 league starts in two years.
The former Stoke City flop will be used as a back-up option for star man Robert Lewandowski, who scored 59 goals last term.
After putting pen to paper, he said: “It’s a great feeling coming back to the Bundesliga – and then to the biggest club in Germany.

“Who wouldn’t want to play for FC Bayern? It’s an honour to play for this club.

Juventus to be awarded 3-0 win as Napoli fail to TURN UP for Serie A clash after two players test positive for Covid-19

JUVENTUS will be awarded a 3-0 win after opponents Napoli did not TURN UP to their Serie A game amid Covid-19 fears.
In incredible scences, the Old Lady – and a smattering of fans – arrived at the Allianz Stadium for the 7:45 kick-off, in the knowledge their rivals had not made the trip.

TV coverage displayed a message regarding Napoli’s absence

With two positive results this week, Napoli were BANNED from travelling by their local health authority.
However, Serie A refused to call the game off.
And, under league rules, Cristiano Ronaldo’s Bianconeri will be handed all three points after the bizarre no-show.
TV coverage displayed a message which read ‘Awaiting Arrival of Away Team’ as the action failed to get underway.

Napoli were scheduled to travel on Saturday night for Sunday evening’s league game but were prevented from doing so.
The local health authority stepped in after their most recent opponents Genoa suffered a widespread coronavirus outbreak – with 17 players testing positive.
Since then two Napoli players plus a member of staff have also tested positive for the virus.

Piotr Zielinski and Eljif Elmas are the players to have been confirmed as positive so far but there could be more to come in the next round of testing.
Juventus also have their own problems amid the pandemic with two members of staff coming down with Covid-19.

But the Old Lady confirmed yesterday they would still take to the field as planned, despite health concerns.
The club’s account tweeted: “Juventus Football Club announces that the First Team will take to the field for the Juventus – Napoli match tomorrow at 20:45, as foreseen by the Serie A League calendar.”
Serie A’s protocol – taken from Uefa – states that games will not be postponed if clubs can field 13 players including a keeper.
But the local health authority trumped the footballing procedures.
Genoa’s game with Torino, due to take place on Saturday, was postponed.

Juventus boss Pirlo blown away by Cristiano Ronaldo’s amazing work ethic as he’s ‘first to training and last to go home’

CRISTIANO RONALDO’S amazing dedication and fitness have dazzled new Juventus boss Andrea Pirlo.
Italy and Juve legend Pirlo says the 35-year-old is the “first to come to training and the last to go home” – after smashing more goal records last season.

    3

Juventus superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has a strict fitness regime and two years ago, aged 33, claimed he had the biological body of a 23-year-old

Ronaldo has insisted he can comfortably continue playing into his 40s, having already bagged three goals in two Serie A matches this term.
And as the champions prepared to host 100% side Napoli on Sunday night, Pirlo explained how the Portugal frontman is “an example to everyone”.
Pirlo said: “Ronaldo works very hard.  He brings enthusiasm. You can notice it on the pitch as well.
“He started the season really well, I hope he will keep doing like this until the end of the season.

    SMASHING RECORDS
“I wish he’ll score one or two goals every game. He is really important for us.”
Last season former Manchester United and Real Madrid hero Ronaldo equalled Juve’s record high of 31 Serie A goals by one player in a campaign.
He was also the quickest man to 50 goals in the Italian top-flight, taking just 61 games.

On top of that, no-one else has netted 30-plus goals in a season in Europe’s leading three top-flights – the Premier League, LaLiga and Serie A.

His other staggering stats include topping the list for career hat-tricks on 54, one ahead of Barcelona’s Lionel Messi – as compared to Tottenham’s England skipper Harry Kane in seventh place on 12.
But Ronaldo’s energy and drive have impressed Pirlo just as much as his goals, with the ex-Porto star reaping rich benefits from his own strict diet and training regime.
Tireless Ron’s second goal of the match earned ten-man Juve a comeback 2-2 draw at Roma last weekend.
And Pirlo said: “In Rome we were a man down and he helped a lot until the end of the game. He is an example for everyone.”

Man Utd star Diogo Dalot quickly leaves Carrington before team-mates arrive ahead of completing AC Milan loan transfer

DIOGO DALOT looked like he could not wait to make a hasty exit from Carrington before his loan move from Manchester United to AC Milan.
The Manchester Evening News revealed the wantaway starlet spent just 30 minutes at United’s training ground before departing ahead of his team-mates’ arrival.

Dalot, 21, is due to fly to Italy today after his Red Devils bosses sanctioned a move to AC Milan after dismissing a loan-bid from Roma.
Roma, who are closing in on a permanent deal for United outcast Chris Smalling, 30, were rebuffed by Old Trafford officials.
Dalot, who made his first start for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side this term in their Carabao Cup Last-16 win against Brighton on Wednesday, has made just one Premier League appearance in the past 16 months.
And the Portugal Under-21 right-back featured in just 11 games across all competitions last term.

Dalot has faced a battle to secure a starting spot in recent months despite injuries to Luke Shaw and Brandon Williams.
Timothy Fosu-Mensah was chosen to play as a full-back in United’s win away at Crystal Palace in July, despite the youngster being capable of playing on the left flank.
And the Old Trafford side, who promoted Ethan Laird, 19, to the first team, are reportedly interested in signing Brazilian left-back Alex Telles from Porto.
Dalot moved to United from Portuguese giants Porto for £19million in 2018.

But the youngster, who has battled with groin injuries, has made only 25 starts since his switch to Old Trafford.
The Portugal-born player has three years left to run on his contract with Man United.
And it is thought the defender, heavily linked with a permanent Serie A move, is ready to call time on his Old Trafford career.
