Man Utd sealed Amad Diallo transfer thanks to emotional FaceTime call from Solskjaer in move that’s left Parma fuming

MANCHESTER UNITED reportedly landed Amad Diallo after an emotional FaceTime call with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The Red Devils agreed a deal with Atalanta to sign the winger in January in a move that infuriated Italian side Parma.

Diallo, 18, will move to Old Trafford subject to a work permit and the agreement of personal terms.
The Ivorian reportedly had a medical in Bergamo yesterday ahead of the £37.7million move – which includes a 15 per cent sell on fee for Atalanta.
And he was convinced to make the switch by the video call with Solskjaer, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Romano also claimed United think Diallo is one of the best players in the world in his age group.

Solskjaer reportedly told the teenager he rates him highly and he is an important part of the club’s future.
And United’s boss also told him he does not plan to send him out on loan once he returns from Atalanta in January.
Serie A side Parma were furious with United’s last minute hijack of the deal as they claim they had an agreement in place.
Parma director Alessandro Lucarelli said: “You must ask Atalanta about Diallo.

“We had the agreement and then the negotiation with Manchester United started and they sold him.
“We covered ourselves with other players and we will make up for it, but he would have been useful.”
Elsewhere, Diallo’s team-mate Papu Gomez has boldy compared the winger to Lionel Messi.
He said: “He’s a future star, trust me.
“During our training sessions he plays like Messi.
“You can’t stop him, he’s unbelievable, our centre-backs have serious problems when he is on the pitch. He’s fantastic.”

Cristiano Ronaldo facing police probe and £900 fine along with six other Juventus stars over ‘quarantine rules breach’

CRISTIANO RONALDO and six other Juventus team-mates face a potential police probe and £900 fine for an alleged quarantine rules breach.
The players left Juventus’ retreat on Monday morning, where the Serie A kings were in isolation.

Juventus were living in a bubble within their camp at Continassa after two cases of coronavirus were found last Saturday.
According to TuttoSport, Gianluigi Buffon and Merih Demiral decided to leave the camp and return to their respective homes on Monday morning.
And Rodrigo Bentancur, Juan Cuadrado, Danilo, Paulo Dybala and Ronaldo reportedly departed to play for their national teams.
It is claimed Juventus could not stop their players from leaving the bubble and when they did it became an individual responsibility.

The Italian champions then informed members of ASL, the local health unit, who confirmed they received the report directly from the club.
Names of the players who left the isolation bubble were then given to the Prosecutor’s Office.
Corriere di Torino revealed Roberto Testi, the director of the Prevention Department of the ASL Citta di Torino, indicated nothing controversial will come from the rule breach.
Testi said “I don’t think anything serious has been committed and if someone were to take a private flight, maybe they’ll pay a fine and I don’t think any players will have problems doing it.”

At Continassa, Andrea Pirlo’s team continued to train in isolation, including some players who received international call-ups during the current break.
Italy manager Roberto Mancini said he expected Juventus players to arrive, but the isolation period will reportedly only end once all the protocol checks are completed.
Ronaldo was in the Portugal squad that drew 0-0 with Spain on Wednesday and plays France and Sweden in Nations League fixtures.
But the 35-year-old received devastating news that his £7million home in Madeira was burgled while he was on international duty.
Partner Georgina Rodriguez was also away at Paris Fashion Week.
The chancer is claimed to have snuck into the house after a member of Ronaldo’s staff opened the garage door, according to respected local paper Diario de Noticias Madeira.
Police are said to be on the hunt for the suspected burgler.

Ashley Young insists he would ‘walk from Italy right now’ to play for Watford again 13 years after quitting for Villa

ASHLEY YOUNG has revealed he would love to retire at Watford if given the chance as he declared he would happily walk away from Inter Milan.
The 35-year-old came through the ranks at Vicarage Road – joining the academy in 1995 before making his first team debut in 2003.

He would go on to score 22 goals in 110 games for the Hornets before departing for Aston Villa in 2007.
And on Watford’s ‘Golden Tales’ podcast, he said: “If I could go back and play there [at Watford] again, I would walk from Italy right now because it’s what I know, it’s where I come from and it’s what allowed me to be who I am and get where I am.
“For me, at my age now, and you can ask my family, you can ask my agent, if I had the opportunity to go back and finish my career at Watford, I would jump at the chance.”
He did sting the Hornets’ fanbase in 2017 when he scored twice for Manchester United at Vicarage Road and celebrated provocatively.

The England international cupped his ears to the Watford supporters after his superb half-volley, before running to the corner flag after dispatching a free-kick.
But Young – who has one year left on his deal at the San Siro – has insisted he meant nothing by it, as he spoke of his love for the club.
He added on the podcast: “I’ve not got nothing against any Watford fan. None whatsoever, and I’ve always wanted to set the record straight.
“When you do score a goal, I’m passionate, I want to celebrate. I remember thinking as soon as I scored, ‘Yeah I’m running to that corner, and I’m going to celebrate’.

Honours: Premier League x1, FA Cup x1, EFL Cup x1, Europa League x1
    England caps: 39

“It wasn’t one of those things that crossed my mind like ‘What have you done?’, it’s just I’ve scored a goal, I want to celebrate.
“But I have got nothing against any Watford fan, and I know I took abuse that day, and do you know what, if I could go back and change it, would I? No.
“I know what started my career. It was Watford. I always say and I will always say it’s my home.”

“We got back to the dressing room at the end of the game. I thought he’d say something to me, but he stayed away. A day passed, two, then three.
“We had to play in the Champions League on the Wednesday. Zlatan went up to me and said: ‘I like you, the Argentines have character and say what they believe, not like the Brazilians. Having said that, next time you do something like that, I’ll smash your face in.’

CRISTIANO Ronaldo wrecked claims that he’s selfish and can’t pick out a team-mate with a stunning outside-of-the-boot pass for Portugal last night.
The wonder pass was one of the highlights in an entertaining goalless draw between Portugal and Spain.

Ronaldo got the ball through the eye of the needle with a perfectly-timed pass

    6

Ronaldo, 35, has been accused throughout his career of not being able to spot a pass.
But he put paid to that last night with a stunning, curling ball that should have led to the breakthrough goal.
A counter-attack saw Ronaldo played in down the left and, just as it looked like he may cut in, he spotted Renato Sanches.
The ex-Swansea flop was then delivered the most delicious pass on a plate but could only fire his shot against the underside of the crossbar.

The ball bounced on the line and away, with Sanches left astonished it did not go in.
Ronaldo’s involvement in the chance left his fans on social media purring – and helped vanquish rumours he was not the complete player.
One person on Twitter rubbished claims that Ronaldo’s talent was all hard work and no natural flair.
He wrote: “Spectacular pass by Cristiano Ronaldo.

One other person hailed it as “the pass of a genius.”
It was busy a night for Ronaldo, who almost scored himself when he hit the bar early in the second half.
Portugal’s best chance in a night of missed opportunities came when Ruben Semedo headed a corner to the far post towards Joao Felix who failed to smuggle the ball home.

Portugal 0 Spain 0: Chelsea outcast Kepa keeps clean sheet vs Cristiano Ronaldo… with a little help from crossbar

KEPA ARRIZABALAGA added a rare clean sheet to his collection as Spain drew 0-0 with Portugal.
Cristiano Ronaldo came the closest to beating the Chelsea outcast – but he was denied by the woodwork.

Kepa has been dropped by Blues boss Frank Lampard following a series of blunders.
Edouard Mendy has established himself as the new No1 following his move from Rennes.
But Spain boss Luis Enrique trusted Kepa to start ahead of David De Gea on Wednesday night.
And he proved his potential as he kept Portugal’s star-studded line-up at bay for 90 minutes.

Ronaldo and Co did only register one shot on target – but that still leaves Kepa with a 100 per cent record for the evening.
The Juventus star, 35, came close as he rattled the crossbar in the early stages of the second half.
After a cross was delivered into the box, he shifted the ball onto his left foot before he fired his effort at goal.
Kepa breathed a sigh of relief as he watched the shot rebound off of the woodwork.

In the 67th minute Portugal were denied by the bar for the second time.
Ronaldo delivered the ball into Renato Sanches, who smashed his first time effort against the underside of the bar.
Spain will be glad Jose Mourinho wasn’t lurking in Lisbon to measure the exact height of the goals.
Kepa made an impressive save late on to deny Joao Felix from scoring the winner.
The match ended 0-0, but both teams were able to show off their talent from the Premier League.
Leeds United had two players in Spain’s starting line-up – Rodrigo and Diego Llorente.
That is one more player than Real Madrid had on show and the same amount as Barcelona.

Tottenham star Sergio Reguilon started at the back for Spain alongside Manchester City star Eric Garcia.
And Arsenal star Dani Ceballos kicked off the game in the midfield.
Portugal had Wolves trio Ruben Neves, Patricio and Joao Moutinho in their starting line-up.

Smalling’s transfer from Man Utd to Roma sees missing girl found after club used announcement to advertise lost teen

The Serie A side completed the permanent signing of the former England defender on Deadline Day, having haggled with Manchester United all summer.

And when they finally got their man, they coupled their official announcement with a plea for information regarding a missing Italian teenage girl.
Roma decided to start doing this with new signings last year – and have seen several missing children returned home safely.
And the latest, who also featured in announcements for Marash Kumbulla, Pedro and Borja Mayoral, was found safe after Smalling’s arrival.
Of the seven kids to be found through Roma’s kindhearted scheme, amazingly another occurred when Smalling signed on loan last year.

A Kenyan child was found back in the summer of 2019, after an appeal for information featured alongside Smalling’s initial loan signing.
And a British teenager, 15, was also found through Roma’s partnership with the International Centre for Missing & Exploited Children, after the signing of Mert Cetin last year.
The news will be even more reason for Smalling to celebrate, having finally sealed his dream transfer back to the Stadio Olimpico.
Upon signing Smalling, 30, told Roma’s official website: “It’s a massive, massive relief.

“I think that everyone knew I wanted to come back and to finally get it done, albeit so close to the deadline, it’s just pure relief.
“Now I can enjoy being back and then get straight back to it with the team tomorrow.”
And when asked to offer a message to the fans, he responded: “Just that I am so happy to be here.
“I have been fighting hard to come back and finally we are reunited. I am ready to give my all, I can’t wait to get going again!”

I arrived last summer, and although temporary at the time, I knew instantly it would be my permanent home. Cannot wait to get started again, the journey continues, enjoy the ride! 💛❤️ pic.twitter.com/MyoAtrN1pQ

Everton sign goalkeeper Robin Olsen on season-long loan transfer from Roma with Jordan Pickford’s spot under huge threat

EVERTON have completed the signing of Robin Olsen to round off a busy transfer deadline day.
The Roma goalkeeper arrives on a year-long loan as competition for No1 Jordan Pickford – after a string of errors to start the season.

After the capture of Ben Godfrey from Norwich on Monday morning, Olsen arrived as Carlo Ancelotti’s sixth signing of the window.
Reports had suggested Manchester United’s Sergio Romero and Paulo Gazzaniga of Tottenham were on the Toffees’ radar.
However Olsen was the man brought in, amid a furious response from Romero’s wife.
Eliana Guercio slammed United for “not letting” Romero go just hours before Everton announced their signing.

A club statement minutes before the transfer deadline confirmed: “Everton have completed the signing of goalkeeper Robin Olsen on a season-long loan from AS Roma.
“Olsen arrives at Everton having amassed 38 caps and is the Club’s second deadline-day signing after confirmation of 22-year-old Godfrey’s arrival from Norwich City earlier on Monday.”

Olsen made his name in his native Sweden with Malmo before spells at PAOK and Copenhagen.

A move to Roma two years ago saw him shipped out on loan to Cagliari last summer, where he made 19 appearances.
He joins an Everton side flying high with four wins from four to start their Premier League campaign.
Tottenham, West Brom, Crystal Palace and Brighton have all been dispatched ahead of a Merseyside derby with Liverpool in a fortnight.
