Zlatan Ibrahimovic can play football until he’s 50 years old and has to be taken away on a stretcher, says Mino Raiola

ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC can play football until he’s 50 years old, claimed Mino Raiola.
And the powerful agent reckons he will need to be dragged away on a stretcher before he voluntarily hangs up his boots.

Ibrahimovic turned 39 in October but has already racked up eight goals in five Serie A games and nine in nine across all competitions – missing four matches due to coronavirus.
But Raiola reckons there is still plenty in the Sweden icon’s legs – at least another 11 years to be precise.
Speaking to Dutch news outlet volkskrant.nl, he said: “He will play football until they have to take him away on a stretcher.
“He can continue until he is 50 but only if he plays at high levels, he can continue.

“He has resurrected all of Milan, he is 90 per cent of that team.”
Milan sit top of the Serie A table after seven matches as they look to win a first Scudetto since 2010-11, when Ibra scored 14 league goals for the San Siro side.
But even after 494 goals in 817 club matches and 62 in 116 for Sweden, he is still as motivated as ever to be the best.
And it is that self-belief that has helped spur him on to new heights even into his late 30s – as well as forgetting his own age.

Caballero and Cech are the oldest players in the Premier League

Raiola added: “Sometimes while he is exercising I sit on him and he keeps doing push-ups. And you know I’m not among the lightest.
“Those years [at LA Galaxy] were a shame. He wanted to live in the United States with his family, but the mentality there is different.
“They didn’t have the same desire to win as he does. Even if he plays on the computer, Zlatan wants to win.
“He tests himself with those phrases, he is self-critical to madness. Defeat does not belong to him, it drives him crazy.
“He does not want to play well once, he must always do it. Where were PSG before his arrival? Where were Milan?
“He re-positions the level of the clubs that will then benefit from it in the years to come in the way they react to difficulties, having the strength to go on.
“He still has strength and has the ability to pass something on to the next generation, so he has to continue as long as possible.”

Man Utd join Arsenal in Christian Eriksen transfer chase as Inter Milan target swap deal for £52m Fred

MANCHESTER UNITED have joined Arsenal in the transfer chase for Christian Eriksen, according to reports.
The former Tottenham playmaker, 28, has struggled since his January switch to Inter Milan.

And as Antonio Conte looks to improve his squad when the transfer window reopens, the Danish international could be let go to free up cash for new recruits.
According to Corriere Dello Sport via Football Italia, Inter may even propose a swap deal with United involving Fred.
The Brazilian midfielder, 27, arrived from Shakhtar Donetsk in 2018 for a staggering £52million.
After a tough opening 24 months at Old Trafford, he has finally started to make an impression, forming a strong partnership with Scott McTominay.

However, Inter may tempt Ole Gunnar Solskjaer into letting Fred go with the offer of Eriksen.
United were linked with Eriksen during his time at Tottenham but already have Bruno Fernandes, Paul Pogba, Donny van de Beek, Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard as attacking midfielders.
Eriksen is under contract until 2024 but has played just 301 minutes of football for Conte so far this season – starting four times – and is yet to register a goal or an assist.
He put clubs on red alert when he said: “This isn’t what I dreamed of. All players want to play as much as possible, but the coach decides who gets to go on the pitch.

“It is a strange situation, as the fans want to see me playing more and so would I, but the coach has different ideas and as a player I have to respect that.
“I am concentrating on my football, then when the transfer window opens we will see if something will happen or not.”
However, recent reports suggest Arsenal may also be monitoring Eriksen – despite his Tottenham history.
Similarly, a swap deal was suggested with Granit Xhaka going the other way.
Finally, Paris Saint-Germain could also be Eriksen’s next step with Leandro Paredes the midfielder Inter want in exchange.

Cristiano Ronaldo looking to ‘rebuild bridges with Real Madrid’ ahead of shock transfer return despite Man Utd links

CRISTIANO RONALDO is reportedly keen to rebuild bridges with Real Madrid ahead of a shock return to the Bernabeu.

Ronaldo left Zinedine Zidane’s side to join Juventus for £99million in July 2018.
Marca claim the Portuguese star is already contemplating a move back to Madrid.
He has allegedly reached out to his former club in a bid to make his interest known.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner will have to rebuild his relationships at the club.

He cut off contact with the LaLiga side completely following his move to Italy.
Ronaldo only remained in regular contact with close pal Marcelo.
Juventus are reportedly considering selling their highest-paid player.
Ronaldo has helped them to win two consecutive Serie A goals and scored 71 goals for the club.

But the Italians could be forced to get his £540,000-per-week salary off the books.
Manchester United are also said to be interested in bringing Ronaldo back to Old Trafford.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have reportedly made a ‘formal offer’ to re-sign the superstar.

Juventus ‘to extend Alvaro Morata loan transfer by another year rather than splash out £40m fee on Atletico Madrid star’

JUVENTUS are tipped to renew scoring sensation Alvaro Morato’s loan next season rather than pay Atletico Madrid’s £40million asking price.
The Spain striker already has six goals from eight games this season but Juve’s finances have been rocked by the coronavirus pandemic.

Now Goal.com suggest the Italian champions will try to eke out more value by exercising their right to borrow the 28-year-old another year – before attempting to buy him for a reduced fee.
Morata arrived for his second spell at Juve in September, following stints at Real Madrid, twice, and Chelsea.
And the 28-cap targetman is arguably enjoying his best early-season form ever.

He notched 27 goals and 18 assists in 93 games during his first spell with the Old Lady from 2014-16.

But this time he is equal-top scorer with Cristiano Ronaldo, while Argentina frontman Paulo Dybala plays a fringe role on just one goal this term.
It is thought Juve will bid to keep Morata until the end of 2021-22 and then haggle over Atletico’s £40m valuation.
The Madrid-born ace has more than hinted he would be keen to stay.
Earlier this month Morata said he felt “wanted and loved” at Juve after struggling to rediscover the peak levels of his original spell at the Allianz Stadium.

And he is also reaping the rewards at international level.

He headed the opener in Tuesday’s 6-0 Nations League win over Germany.
Manchester City winger Ferran Torres then bagged his first-ever hat-trick.
But Morata now has the enviable record of 18 goals in 38 games for Spain.

Cristiano Ronaldo set to be named Juventus captain for first time against Cagliari with Chiellini and Bonucci out

CRISTIANO RONALDO could be made Juventus captain for the first time this weekend.
Andrea Pirlo is without a number of players ahead of the visit of Cagliari, which could provide a fresh opportunity for Ronaldo.

Club captain Giorgio Chiellini and deputy Leonardo Bonucci are both ruled out of Saturday’s clash.
Muscle problems are keeping the defenders out, opening the way for Matthijs de Ligt and Merih Demiral to start together.
Typically, the armband would land with the player who has spent the most time with the club.
Paulo Dybala and Juan Cuadrado have previously been selected but Pirlo may leave the South American duo out.

Furthermore, veteran goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon is not likely to start the game with Wojciech Szczesny fit and available.
According to Tuttosport, Ronaldo will be the natural choice to take the armband.

Friday’s Tuttosport front page opens the possibility of ‘Captain Ronaldo’
The striker signed for Juve last year but has years of experience with Manchester United, Real Madrid and Portugal to rely on.
As his country’s captain, Ronaldo famously lifted the Euro 2016 trophy despite going off injured in the final with France.

He was given the chance to don the armband for his club last December, but refused.
Many praised Ronaldo as humble for deciding to hand the captaincy over to Blaise Matuidi, who had spent longer at Juventus, in the final moments of a win over Udinese.

Reports have surfaced in recent weeks speculating over the 35-year-old’s future in Turin.
Juventus are said to be considering cashing in on the talisman due to their coronavirus pandemic financial worries.
Paris Saint-Germain and old club United are both reportedly looking into a deal for the player.

“I have watched so many Premier League games since I was young [but] even now I am following the Premier League a lot.
“I enjoyed always to play with my teams to play in the Champions League against the English clubs. The atmosphere, the style and idea of football has always impressed me.
“If it is possible it will for sure be a really big dream [come true] and honour to be a part of the Premier League.”
