Mino Raiola ‘wants £35m transfer release clause put in Donnarumma’s new AC Milan deal with just two-year length’

GIANLUIGI DONNARUMMA’s AC Milan contract extension could be in doubt due to the demands of his agent Mino Raiola, according to reports.
The 21-year-old has six months left on his Milan deal but he has reiterated his desire to stay with his boyhood club beyond this summer.

AC Milan have offered Gianluigi Donnarumma a new contract

However, super-agent Mino Raiola, who also represents Donnarumma’s teammate Zlatan Ibrahimovic, has thrown a cat amongst the Milanese pigeons with his latest set of demands.
Milan have offered Donnarumma a five-year deal worth £6.5million-a-year which will make him one of the best-paid goalkeepers in world football.
However, Gazzetta dello Sport reports Raiola wants to include a £35million release clause in the contract in case Milan do not qualify for the Champions League.
Additionally, Raiola wants the length of the contract to be reduced to two years, so he can renegotiate the £6.5m-a-year wage packet offered by Milan in 2023.

Raiola had been keen to secure the Italy international around £9m per season to put him in the same bracket as Atletico Madrid keeper Jan Oblak and Manchester United’s David De Gea.
Donnarumma currently earns £5.5m-a-year at the San Siro.
The uncertainty surrounding Donnarumma’s future has attracted attention from the likes of Juventus, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain.
But Donnarumma has previously stated he intends to repay Milan’s faith in him by staying put; the club handed him his first-team debut aged just 16.

Donnarumma, who turns 22 on February 25, made his 200th appearance for the Rossoneri in Sunday’s Milan derby.
It is not the first time Raiola has caused a stir at a major European club this season.
Raiola angered Manchester United fans and media in December by talking up a move away from Old Trafford for his client Paul Pogba.

AC Milan and Inter fans light flares as they gather outside San Siro ahead of behind-closed-doors derby

ITALIAN fans lit flares and ignored social distancing ahead of the Milan derby held behind closed doors at the San Siro.
AC Milan and Inter supporters congregated in their thousands before the biggest Derby della Madonnina in more than a decade.

Former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte’s Inter took a one-point lead at the top of Serie A into the game and a 3-0 win gave them a four-point buffer.
A fiery atmosphere was created in the build-up to the game despite Covid rules in the Italian city stating people should keep a metre apart and wear masks in public spaces.
Reports suggested 5,000 fans from both teams packed the surrounding area around the shared stadium with police called to disperse the rowdy crowds.
Italian rulemakers ‘strongly recommend’ avoiding public transport unless for essential travel or commuting to work.

Fans could be sen huddled together waving large flags with many mouths and noses left uncovered despite the pandemic.
Sunday’s derby had been hotly-anticipated after the heated clash between Inter’s Romelu Lukaku and Milan’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic last time out.
The ex-Manchester United team-mates went head-to-head in an explosive exchange in the Coppa Italia quarter-final last month.
Veteran Swede Ibrahimovic, 39, was seen and heard shouting: “Go do your voodoo s***, go do your voodoo s***, little donkey.”

Lukaku, 27, responded with ‘I’ll f*** you and your wife’.
The ex-Everton and Chelsea ace then charged at the Swede and blasted ‘Let’s go inside you b****’ before both players were booked.
The two protagonists escaped any further punishment after an investigation by the Italian Football Federation.
And a stunning mural depicting their coming-together was painted outside the San Siro before Sunday’s league game.
Inter took the lead thanks to Lautaro Martinez’s goal after just five minutes and went in at half-time 1-0 up.
And the Argentine bagged his second in the 57th minute to give Conte’s side a two-goal cushion.
Lukaku got in on the act less than ten minutes later to secure all three points for the blue side of the city.

Incredible Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Romelu Lukaku mural seen outside San Siro ahead of Milan derby rematch

AN incredible mural of Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s bust-up with Romelu Lukaku has been painted outside of the San Siro just days before the Milan derby.
The AC and Inter Milan strikers will renew their rivalry tomorrow afternoon in the third Derby della Madonnina of the season.

The former Manchester United team-mates, 39 and 27 respectively, were involved a heated bust-up last month in the Coppa Italia quarter-final.
And local artists have painted a stunning mural, which includes the phrase ‘Face to Face, Heart to Heart’, of the pair’s fiery coming together outside of the Giuseppe Meazza.
SteReal and KayOne – real names Stefania Marchetto and Marco Mantovani – created the mural, which shows Ibrahimovic sticking his forehead into Lukaku’s chin, with the aim of encouraging a less volatile derby.
Marchetto told Reuters: “I’m a Milan fan and he’s an Inter fan, so for us it was already a derby doing this mural with four hands belonging to two different teams.

“Our message is definitely a positive one.
“We hope that this mural can also encourage these champions towards a peaceful encounter in front of the mural [on Sunday].”
BETS OF THE DAY: DON’T MISS TODAY’S BEST ODDS BOOSTS

Several success stories have come from January transfers
Mantovani added: “We decided to dedicate this mural to Inter and Milan around Valentine’s Day.

“It was important to make a positive message from it to leave to the city of Milan, reconsidering this iconic image of these two great champions who square off on the pitch, but not in life.
“Face to Face, Heart to Heart, inspired by the 1980’s hit by The Twins, comes from a desire to leave a trace on the city of Milan that is about the desires around sport, the desire to win of these two champions who are clashing with intensity, but also out of loyalty.”
Both Lukaku and Ibrahimovic escaped additional punishment for their respective parts in the unsavoury scenes.
Ibrahimovic was said to have been in danger of being in hot water with the Italian Football Federation after telling the Belgian to go and do his ‘voodoo s**t’.

But after conducting thorough investigation, in which both men were interviewed, the FIGC opted against taking the matter any further.
Milan chief Stefano Pioli is relishing the opportunity to get one over the Nerazzuri tomorrow but admits the timing of the fixture is less than ideal.
During his pre-match press conference, Pioli said: “It would have been better if it [Ibrahimovic and Lukaku’s bust-up] hadn’t happened.
‘But tomorrow is another match, there will be duels, clashes, it’s a heartfelt game, but there will also be great respect and professionalism.”

Zlatan Ibrahimovic will perform at Sanremo Music Festival and sing duet with Sinisa Mihajlovic, Bologna manager claims

AC MILAN star Zlatan Ibrahimovic will SING at an Italian music festival, according to Bologna boss Sinisa Mihajlovic.
The 39-year-old will perform a duet with Mihajlovic in Sanremo next month, no doubt becoming a pop sensation.

The self-proclaimed “lion” is clearly a man of many talents.
As well as winning trophies in Italy, Spain and England, he has a black belt in taekwondo and his autobiography I Am Zlatan was shortlisted for the prestigious William Hill Sports Book of the Year award.
But those expecting Ibrahimoivic to clean up at the BRITs will be disappointed, as he is said to be an awful singer.
Speaking to Sky Italia, his friend Mihajlovic said: “The two things I do least well are singing and dancing. Ibra is also a terrible singer.

“At least we’ll make people laugh.”
The Sanremo Music Festival has been held annually since 1951 and is one of the most popular music events in Italy.

Man Utd’s biggest transfers ever, both in and out, including Ronaldo
This year’s festival will last for five nights between March 2-6 and will be televised.

Ibrahimovic will travel to the event by helicopter to ensure he can still fulfil his day job on the pitch.
Ibra and Mihajlovic have been friends for many years after the Serbian coached him at Inter Milan.
The 51-year-old left his position as assistant manager in 2008 to become Bologna’s boss and has since coached Fiorentina, Sampdoria and AC Milan, as well as the Serbian national team.

He returned to Bologna in January 2019 and was reportedly interested in signing Ibrahimovic before the Swede re-joined AC Milan.
Mihajlovic will be envious of the Rossoneri as the Swedish striker has been in excellent form this season.
The former Manchester United star scored the 500th goal of his club career earlier this month as Milan defeated Crotone to return to the top of Serie A.
And in December club legend Paolo Maldini said Ibrahimovic was on the same level as the great Marco van Basten.

Lazio face being RELEGATED to Serie B over investigation into claims they tampered with coronavirus tests

LAZIO have been referred to the Italian Federal Court over claims they allegedly tampered with coronavirus tests.
ESPN claim the Serie A giants face a series of increasingly severe punishments if found guilty that range from a points deduction to even RELEGATION to Serie B.

The report adds that pressure would be on the Italian authorities to issue strong action if Lazio are convicted given the current climate.
President Claudio Lotito and the club’s doctors Ivo Pulcini and Fabio Rodia have been accused by prosecutors of violating Covid-19 protocols.
The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) said Simeone Inzaghi’s side failed to properly report the number of positive cases in their squad.
Lazio have also been put on trial for not enforcing an asymptomatic player undergoing the mandatory 10-day isolation period.

That player, whose identity is yet to be announced, was later allegedly involved in a Serie A match.
While the Italian FA has deferred the matter to the national courts, Lazio have since responded in a statement.
Club Spokesman Roberto Rao said: “We trust in sporting justice, which will be expressed in the appropriate offices, so that the correct reconstruction of the facts is re-established and total non-involvement with the contested accusations is recognised.”
An investigation was first started back on November 3 when tests were seized following a training ground inspection.

Lotito stands accused of having “failed to enforce, or failed to monitor compliance with, the rules on health checks and the necessary communications to the competent local health authorities.”
The Biancocelesti had points deducted in the 2006 Calciopoli scandal which saw Juventus relegated for attempting to influence match officials.
AC Milan were also forced to drop down a division for match-fixing in 1980.
