Chelsea ace Fikayo Tomori’s AC Milan loan transfer set to be finalised after ‘clubs reach agreement’

CHELSEA outcast Fikayo Tomori is set to join AC Milan on loan after the clubs reportedly reached an agreement.
The 23-year-old will join the Serie A leaders on a six-month deal and the Italians will have the option to buy him in the summer.

Talks stepped up on Thursday night and deal paperwork between the two clubs has been exchanged, according to the Times.
Milan also tried to sign Tomori last summer and look to have finally got their wish.
Tomori has slipped below Thiago Silva, Kurt Zouma, Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen under Frank Lampard.
The one-cap England international has played just four times for Chelsea this season, including just one Premier League outing – the 2-0 defeat at home to Liverpool.

Most-recently, he enjoyed a ten-minute cameo in the 4-0 FA Cup third-round win over Morecambe.
After the cup clash, Lampard hinted Tomori was set for a temporary move away.
The Blues boss said: “The situation with Fikayo is open at the moment.
“There is a possibility he could be going on loan to get games somewhere else.

“So that would have to be the solution for him and the club. That was part of my thinking of not starting him.
“I gave him some minutes at the end but while we were looking at that I wanted to make sure it was the right thing for the club and for him and individually. So that’s why he didn’t start.
“But his attitude, even though he hasn’t played much recently, has been fantastic in training and in how he is.”
Tomori – who snubbed a move to West Ham on deadline day last summer – has also been linked with Leeds and Newcastle.
The defender has been with Chelsea since joining their academy aged eight.
He signed a big money five-year deal in November 2019.

Cristiano Ronaldo is 61 goals off Josef Bican’s all-time record and NOT most prolific player in history, insist Czech FA

CRISTIANO RONALDO has been told he did NOT become the most prolific player in history last night… by the Czech FA.
Legendary forward Ronaldo, 35, struck his 760th career goal in Juventus’ 2-0 Supercoppa Italiana win against Napoli on Wednesday.

Fifa say Josef Bican scored 805, with the Czech FA putting him on 821Credit: Getty Images – Getty

It was claimed Ronnie therefore became the game’s all-time goalscoring great ahead of Czech icon Josef Bican, who was apparently on 759.
However, official Fifa figures reveal Bican instead scored 805 goals throughout his prolific career during the 1940s and 50s.
That puts him 45 ahead of Ronaldo, and Fifa are also supported by the Czech FA.
However, they say Bican actually scored 821 official goals – leaving Ronaldo trailing by a mammoth 61 strikes.

The Czech FA claim Fifa have not included goals from Bican’s time in the country’s second division, where he netted 53 times in 26 outings.
And they add that their own number of 821 goals also comes AFTER they deemed even more strikes from Bican unofficial.
Regardless of whether the Czech FA’s claims stand, Ronaldo is still some way off Bican’s tally by Fifa’s reckoning.
However, he still has 18 months to run on his Juventus contract.

And after scoring 20 goals in 20 games this season already, not many would bet against Ronaldo eventually going on to become Fifa’s No1 poacher.
But confusion over the record is nothing new, with Lionel Messi’s single club goal record also denied by other parties.
Messi moved to 644 goals after scoring against Real Valladolid last month, taking him past Pele’s 643 tally for Santos.
However, the Brazilian outfit are adamant Pele actually scored 1,091 times, with the extra 448 goals coming against top teams including Barcelona, Juventus and Real Madrid in ‘official Fifa games’.
Messi has since moved to 648 Barcelona goals, but will need to keep playing for quite some time if Santos’ claim about Pele is validated.

Cristiano Ronaldo is ninth most decorated footballer in history after Italian Super Cup triumph as top 10 revealed

CRISTIANO RONALDO is the ninth most decorated footballer in history behind the likes of Lionel Messi and Dani Alves.
The Portuguese ace landed the 33rd trophy of his career as Juventus beat Napoli to win the Italian Super Cup on Wednesday.

Cristiano Ronaldo is three trophies behind rival Lionel Messi

Ronaldo, 35, bagged his 760th career goal when he opened the scoring in the second half.
The former Manchester United star cradled the trophy in his arms after the match ended 2-0.
But he has a long way to go until he is dubbed the most decorated footballer in history.
Barcelona icon Dani Alves holds that title after winning 42 trophies during his career.

Andres Iniesta and former Brazilian defender Maxwell are level in second with 37.
Messi, who has spent his entire career at Barcelona, is three clear of Ronaldo.
Ryan Giggs, Kenny Dalglish, Gerard Pique, Victor Baia are also ahead of the Juve ace.
Ronaldo and Co have a mountain to climb if they want to win the Serie A title this season.

As things stand, the Italian giants are slumped at fifth with just nine wins from 17 games.
They are ten points behind league leaders AC Milan with one game in hand.
Ronaldo has scored 15 goals and made two assists in 14 top-flight matches this season.
But there has been some confusion around whether he is the game’s all-time top goalscorer.
Some fans now have the five-time Ballon d’Or winner one goal ahead of Czech legend Josef Bican.
However, official Fifa figures have 1940-50s goal-machine Bican on 805 strikes – still 45 ahead of Ronaldo.

Man Utd ‘target Christian Eriksen loan transfer but offer Inter less than 40 per cent of wages for wantaway midfielder’

MANCHESTER UNITED want Christian Eriksen on loan until the end of the season, according to reports.
But the deal is being held up as the Red Devils have reportedly offered to pay less than 40 per cent of the Inter outcast’s wages with the Italians paying the rest.

The Danish playmaker, 28, left Tottenham a year ago to join Inter Milan.
But the £16.9million star has flopped miserably over the last 12 months under Antonio Conte.
And Eriksen is thought to want out already with Inter open to loaning him to put him in the shop window for a summer sale.
And United have made an offer to the Serie A side, according to the Transfer Window podcast.

Host Ian McGarry said: “Christian Eriksen’s move out of Italy is getting closer.
“It’s our understanding however that – while he’s been linked heavily with a return to Tottenham – he has in fact been offered to Manchester United.
“This would be a loan deal until the end of the season with no option to buy as far as it goes at the moment.
“The deal is far from being done mostly because Man Utd have not offered to pay a sufficient part of his wages which are £7.08million net per year – meaning £3.54m to the end of the season.

“It’s our understanding United have offered to pay £1.33m with Inter paying the rest.
“Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is quite keen on the idea. He is looking for a creative central midfielder to assist in United’s challenge for the Premier League title.”
United face competition from Eriksen’s old club Spurs who are also keen on a loan.
New Paris Saint-Germain boss Mauricio Pochettino may try and reunite with the 103-cap Denmark international while Arsenal, Wolves and Ajax have also been linked.
Eriksen spent six-and-a-half years with Tottenham but left when Jose Mourinho came in.
He made 305 appearances for the club, scoring 69 goals.
But since his switch to Italy, his stats make for pretty grim reading with just four in 40 matches – and not a goal or assist in his 14 appearances this term.

Former Liverpool star Luis Alberto rushed to hospital for emergency appendectomy as he posts update from bed

FORMER Liverpool ace Luis Alberto was rushed to hospital for an emergency appendectomy last night.

A statement read: “Luis Alberto underwent emergency surgery at the Clinica Paideia for acute appendicitis this evening.
“The operation, which was a complete success, was performed by Dr Marco Catarci.
“The player will be monitored in the clinic to calculate how long it will be before he can resume his sporting acitivity.”
It’s reckoned Alberto will miss anywhere between seven and ten days while he recuperates from the ordeal.

But the ex-Sevilla youngster has already delivered a message to concerned fans thanking them for their support, adding he’ll be back playing in no time.
Alberto said: “Thank you all for your messages and for your concern.
“I’m already resting and recovering. Soon you will see me again on the pitch fighting with my teammates.”
Alberto is one of Serie A’s top stars after scoring 32 goals in 155 games for Lazio during a four-and-a-half year spell.

He started his career at Sevilla and has also spent time on loan with Barcelona’s B side, Malaga and Deportivo.
However, Premier League fans best remember Alberto for his brief stint at Liverpool in the 2013/4 season.
The versatile technician played 12 times in the first team under Brendan Rodgers but failed to score once.
And after a few loan spells, Liverpool decided to sell Alberto permanently to Lazio for just £3.5m in 2016.
The transfer has worked out to be a bargain for the capital club, who have been one of Serie A’s best teams in the last couple of seasons.
Alberto was even strongly linked with a move to Barcelona in 2018.
But after extending his Lazio deal until 2025 just 18 months ago, Alberto looks set to continue in Serie A for some time to come.

Zefi became the youngest goalscorer in the League of Ireland history in September.
His goal against Longford Town saw the youngster go down in the record books.
Zefi turns 16 in February and his family are expected to move to Milan with the promising youngster, according to the Independent.
Former Ireland and Tottenham right-back Stephen Carr is advising Zefi and his family.

And the youngster is said to have attracted interest from big clubs across Europe.
He was reportedly invited to train with Dutch side PSV Eindhoven in March but Covid meant the plans were scuppered.
Inter are expected to pay Shamrock a compensation fee that is yet to be agreed.
And Zefi is expected to join their Under-19s initially with the hope he progresses into Antonio Conte’s first team.
