Juventus ‘looking to offload Aaron Ramsey this summer to fund Houssem Aouar transfer from Lyon amid Arsenal interest’

JUVENTUS are reportedly looking to sell Aaron Ramsey this summer in order to fund a move for Arsenal target Houssem Aouar.Calcio Mercato claims Andrea Pirlo hopes to raise over £42million by offloading Ramsey and fellow midfielder Adrien Rabiot, with the pair arriving on free transfers less than two years ago.

Juve look set to lose their grip on the Serie A title to Inter Milan.
And it’s believed the club are ready to move on dead weight in order to sign some top-quality players who can help them dominate again.
Two of those up for sale are Ramsey and Rabiot, with neither impressing during their two seasons in Turin.
Ramsey, 30, joined from Arsenal on a free in 2019 and has scored six goals in 61 appearances.
Rabiot, 25, left PSG for Juve in the same summer, also costing nothing, and has four goals in 72 outings.
But both men are surplus to requirements after Pirlo identified Lyon playmaker Aouar as the man to rejuvenate his midfield.
The No10 whiz, 22, has 30 goals in 163 games for Lyon and was strongly linked with Arsenal last year before they signed Thomas Partey from Atletico Madrid.
Lyon are aware of Arsenal’s continued interest in their star man and will demand a pretty penny.

By selling Ramsey and Rabiot, Juve hope to bank around £42m which they can put into their transfer kitty and jump to the front of the queue.
Pirlo also hopes to take advantage of Lyon’s interest in full-back Mattia De Sciglio, who has been on loan from Juve with the French club this term.
Meanwhile, it remains to be seen if there are any takers for Rabiot, with Everton and even Man City linked.
But there is believed to be firm interest in Ramsey from numerous sides, including Premier League giants Liverpool and Spurs.
Martin Odegaard sits top on the list of Arsenal’s top chance creators in all competitions this season
One shock destination could be French side Marseille, who are ready to back new boss Jorge Sampaoli in the transfer market after he replaced Andre Villas-Boas this year.
Juventus are said to prefer negotiating with Marseille as they currently have Arkadiusz Milik on loan from Napoli.
The Polish striker joined for 18 months in January with an obligation to buy.
And Juventus could insist on Milik being part of the deal to send Ramsey to the French coast.

Juventus legend Gianluigi Buffon given bizarre one-game ban for BLASPHEMY after blasting team-mate Manolo Portanova

JUVENTUS legend Gianluigi Buffon is set to be bizarrely banned for the Turin derby after getting suspended for BLASPHEMY.The 43-year-old goalkeeper landed himself in hot rather than holy water following an incident against his first club Parma back in December.

Buffon was caught delivering an X-rated verbal volley to his defender Manolo Portanova after a shot from the opposition sailed over the crossbar in the Serie A clash.
He screamed: “Porta, I want to see you f***ing running and struggling dio cane, the rest I don’t give a f*** about.”
Without supporters in the stadiums due to the coronavirus pandemic, his words were picked up for viewers to hear from pitchside microphones.
But it was not his swearing that got him in trouble – it was his decision to use the phrase ‘dio cane’.
Loosely translated that means ‘dog God’ or ‘God is a dog’ and falls foul of Italy’s blasphemy law, which is still a civil offence.
That offence is punishable only by a fine, however, the Italian FA have ordered the 2006 World cup winner to pay £4,260 as well as handing him a one-match ban.
Juventus appealed that decision but suffered a blow yesterday when the FIGC confirmed that the suspension would stand.
A statement said: “The Federal Court of Appeal upheld the verdict of the Federal Prosecutor, inflicting a one match suspension on Gianluigi Buffon.

Manager Andrea Pirlo only pockets £1.6million-per-year after taking charge of the club

“The Juventus goalkeeper, sanctioned by the National Federal Court with a fine of €5,000, had been referred for having uttered a sentence containing a blasphemous expression during the match against Parma last December 19.”
That means Buffon is now out of Juventus’ clash with Torino on April 3.
The veteran has largely played back-up to former Arsenal stopper Wojciech Szczesny since returning to Juve following a one-year stint at Paris Saint-Germain.

Liverpool in Kalidou Koulibaly transfer race with Jurgen Klopp keen to bring in £42m Napoli defender this summer

LIVERPOOL are reportedly leading the race for £42million Napoli star Kalidou Koulibaly. The Reds are aiming to strengthen their defence this summer, following a torrid season of injuries.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are believed to be ‘finalising’ their £34m move for RB Leipzig defender Ibrahima Konate, 21.
And according to Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, they have also made contact with Napoli over signing their star defender this summer.
Koulibaly, 29, has been a rock at the back for the Partenopei since 2014.
But with his contract set to enter its final year, Napoli may finally be about to cash in on the Senegalese superstar.
Manchester United, Everton and PSG are all believed to be interested.
But the report claims that a union with compatriot Sadio Mane at Anfield is ‘most tempting’ to the player himself, and that Liverpool are ‘clearly ahead’ of the competition.
Koulibaly has made 277 appearances for Napoli, but the Serie A title has unfortunately eluded him during his excellent spell.
And forming a new partnership with Virgil van Dijk could be on the horizon.

Napoli are believed to be making plans to replace their key man, with signing Feyenoord’s Marco Senesi on their agenda.
As for Konate, RB Leipzig sporting director Markus Krosche has launched a desperate plea to keep the 21-year-old.
He said: “I think that this is not an option for Ibu. He has a long contract with us and he knows what we mean to him and what he means to us.
“He was unlucky last year as he had a long-term injury, but this year he is developing well and he is an extremely important player that has a lot of potential.
“We want to help him to develop further, and we play in Europe and have a very good team, so I don’t see a reason for him to leave us.”

Cristiano Ronaldo will not be stripped of Portugal captaincy after throwing armband to ground in disgust against Serbia

CRISTIANO RONALDO will keep the armband for Portugal’s game with Luxembourg despite throwing it to the floor against Serbia.Selecao boss Fernando Santos has backed the winger, 36, to bounce back from the controversial draw in Belgrade.

A potential Ronaldo winner in stoppage time was not given after officials decided the ball had not crossed the line.
Replays showed a defensive clearance occurring just as the ball appeared to have gone in, with no goalline technology to confirm the call.
The furious Juventus star responded by lambasting officials and throwing his captain’s armband to the ground.
But Santos insisted his excellent standing in the dressing room, and the justifiable cause behind his anger, will mean he keeps the captaincy.
The 66-year-old told reporters: “If Cristiano, who is an example to the national team and even the youngest say so, he had offended the coach, his colleagues or the federation, then yes, we would have to think about it.
    “None of this happened.

“What happened was a moment of great frustration that could have happened to me.
“It was the frustration of someone who always wants to win, who gives everything for the national team.
“Nobody will say that his reaction was beautiful, but there’s no point to discussing if Cristiano should remain the captain. That’s something I want to be very clear about.”
The armband dramatically thrown aside by Ronaldo will soon be auctioned for a Serbian children’s charity.
And Dutch referee Danny Makkelie later apologised for turning down the late winner.
The draw kept Portugal in second place of World Cup qualification Group A, ahead of Tuesday’s game with Luxembourg – who boast a 100 per cent record having beaten Republic of Ireland.

“We will keep our heads up and face the next challenge now.”

Inter Milan fans threaten to boycott buying club shirts and merchandise after ‘horrible’ new badge is revealed

INTER MILAN have become the latest club to undertake a controversial redesign of their badge – with fans fuming. On Tuesday, the Serie A leaders unveiled their new blue and black offering which disposed of the gold design worn for over a decade.

Fans were dismayed by the end of the gold design featured since 2007Credit: EPA
A clip featuring stars such as Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez posing around the city of Milan accompanied the release.
The new badge is based around the ‘I M’ concept of the club’s initials, with phrases such as ‘I M Victory’ and ‘I M Timeless’ appearing in the video.
The club are moving to a new modern approach which includes changing their name from “Football Club Internazionale Milano” to simply “Inter Milano”.
A number of Italian supporters were against ditching the ‘FC’ element, despite the team largely only referred to as Inter Milan abroad.
And there was also anger at the design itself.
Plenty of clubs have attempted to modernise their badge in recent years, such as Everton and Atletico Madrid, only to be met with fan anger.
Despite some encouragement, the Nerazzurri response was similar with some even threatening to boycott new shirts bearing the badge.
One Inter account commented: “That badge does not represent Football Club Internazionale Milano. There is no Inter Milan. I don’t recognise that badge, which is horrible, nor will I buy shirts with that shame on them.”
Daineil replied: “Why do modern rebrandings of badges always look like something I could’ve done on Microsoft PowerPoint at Primary school, looks trash.”

Kramer wrote: “The nice thing about this badge is that, statistically, in 7-8 years we’ll change it.”
Although one Inter supporter hit back: “These comments make me laugh. In 113 years we have changed so many badges, so I don’t understand the controversy. No name has changed. If you go to instagram you see it. In the description of the posts it says ‘IM FC INTERNAZIONALE MILANO’. The important things are elsewhere.”
And one cheeky rival tweeted: “Napoli fan here: I was jealous of your logo, it was probably the best crest in football. This one makes me feel good. Thank you Inter.”

Aaron Ramsey and Paulo Dybala ‘put up for sale by Juventus as Pirlo plans transfer clear-out including five top stars’

JUVENTUS are preparing for a summer clear out with five players up for sale, according to reports. The current Serie A champions are way off the pace in the table, ten points behind leaders AC Milan.

New boss Andrea Pirlo, who replaced Maurizio Sarri, looks destined to become the first Juve manager in ten seasons to fail in winning the league.
And as a result, the Italian legend is set to revamp his side and sell unwanted stars, the Daily Mail say.
Among those is ex-Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey, 30, who joined on a free transfer in 2019.
Injuries have halted the Welshman’s momentum this season and leaves his future uncertain.
Similarly, Paulo Dybala’s time in Turin has also come under question, with the Argentine’s contract expiring next summer.
And the forward, 27, is not set to receive an extension, leaving Juve wanting to cash in now to prevent him leaving on a free.
Manchester United and Tottenham were both linked to Dybala in 2019, but he remained in Italy.
Brazilian Alex Sandro, 30, has been rated as one of the best left-backs in the world in recent years.

But now it is understood Juve are looking to replace him with a fresh alternative.
Robin Gosens, 26, of Atalanta has been linked in the past, also a target for Manchester City.
Adrien Rabiot, 25, and Rodrigo Bentancur, 23, are also both said to be surplus to requirements with Pirlo plotting for a whole new midfield.
Speculation has linked Cristiano Ronaldo, 36, with a move back to both Real Madrid and Manchester United.
PSG are too also interested, but it is claimed Juve will try and tie down the Portugal captain to a new deal, with his current one expiring next summer.

Plenty of scouts are likely to have been watching the 21-year-old in action with as many as five teams ready to wrestle over his signature.
According to Calcio Mercato, Arsenal are joined by Roma, RB Leipzig, Atletico Madrid and AC Milan in monitoring Vlahovic.
The Gunners are set to continue their squad overhaul at the end of the season with high-earning fringe players such as Mesut Ozil and Shkodran Mustafi already cut.
Fresh attacking talent may be a top priority with Martin Odegaard set to leave when his loan ends, and Nabil Fekir is another player linked.
Vlahovic signed for Fiorentina from Partizan Belgrade in 2018 and emerged as a leading light under Cesare Prandelli this season.
The Italian coach’s recent exit from the club, citing personal difficulties with managing the role, came after huge praise from his star forward.

Vlahovic explained: “I’ve said many times that I cannot describe with words what I owe to Prandelli. He arrived when I was in a bad period of form, he gave me confidence and I must repay his faith in me.”
Before his resignation, Prandelli heaped praise on the youngster.
The 63-year-old said: “This is the most delicate moment of Dusan’s career, because people expect things from him now.
“He has to keep it simple and focus on the basics.
“He’s certainly motivated, I practically have to push him off the pitch, as he would like to stay there for hours. I think it’s the kind of pressure he can deal with.”
Former Fiorentina star Valeri Bojinov has been impressed by Vlahovic for many years, and claimed the player previously likened himself to Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Arsenal have the easiest run-in based on the league position of their final nine opponents

The ex-striker told Transfermarkt, via Football Italia: “I told [then-Fiorentina chief Pantaleo] Corvino to sign Vlahovic when he was 15 or 16.
“Vlahovic was crazy, really crazy. He used to tell me, ‘I am a Zlatan Ibrahimovic from Belgrade, I will play for the strongest clubs’.
“I liked his arrogance. I thought he would become a strong player.”
