Chelsea transfer blow in Nicolo Barella chase with Inter Milan having NO intention of selling £52m midfielder

Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid are said to be extremely interested in Barella, who has played a key role in Inter’s charge towards a first Serie A title since 2010.
Chelsea have been linked with the box-to-box ace.
And reports in January claimed Liverpool and Tottenham were also keen.
However, Inter and boss Antonio Conte have no intention of parting ways with Barella.
The Italy international, valued at £52million, has already clocked up 80 appearances since joining from Cagliari in 2019.
And Inter are instead ready to hand Barella a lucrative new contract.
His current deal, worth just over £2m a year, expires in 2024.
And Barella can expect a major pay rise if he agrees fresh terms to stay at the San Siro.

Inter will be hoping they can secure his signature before this summer’s Euros too.
Barella has become a mainstay in Roberto Mancini’s Italy midfield, clocking up 21 caps since his debut in 2018.
And a few fine performances on the major international stage could result in even more transfer interest if Barella hasn’t agreed a new contract by then.

Kean, 21, struggled to make an impact at Goodison Park, however, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin emerging as Carlo Ancelotti’s first choice No9.
But having had a renaissance on loan at PSG, Kean’s stock is high again – with Juventus eyeing a reunion.
Andrea Pirlo is hoping to reshuffle his squad this summer following a disappointing campaign.
But the former midfielder will have to do so on a tight budget.
According to Tuttosport, Juventus could offer Everton Ramsey, or even Adrien Rabiot, in order to bring Kean back.
Alvaro Morata has been Juventus’ main central striker this season.
But a permanent deal may not be on the cards due to Cristiano Ronaldo’s wages, leaving a potential vacancy next term.

Kean showed great promise while on Juventus’ books.
But towards the end of his stint in Turin he was subjected to hideous racist abuse against Cagliari – with his captain Leonardo Bonucci even saying that the youngster ‘could have done it differently’ and that “the blame is 50-50′.
A bemused Raheem Sterling wrote of the incident ‘All you can do now is laugh’, and Kean left just a few months later.
After managing only four goals during a difficult first year at Goodison, however, he was shipped off to PSG, where has thrived under Thomas Tuchel and Mauricio Pochettino.
He has managed 16 goals in 32 games in the French capital, and refused to rule out a permanent move earlier in the season.
Kean said: “I am very happy with my performance with PSG. It’s a very good thing to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world.
“I am focused on bringing good results. For the future, we’ll see, you never know.”

Sarri, who has been out of work since being axed by Juventus last year, is eager to return to football this summer.
The tactician has already rejected approaches from Marseille and Fenerbahce as he does not want to take charge of a new club mid-season.
However, Fiorentina were offering Sarri the chance to start working with them this summer.
Cesare Prandelli resigned last month with the club struggling in 15th place, just eight points from Serie A safety.
And former Fiorentina boss Giuseppe Iachini was rehired to take charge for the rest of the campaign.
But Sarri has turned them down as he waits for approaches from bigger sides.
Old side Napoli are said to be keen, with Gennaro Gattuso expected to be axed after a disappointing season.
All is said to be forgiven after Sarri led fierce rivals Juventus to the Serie A title last term.

And he has already been tipped to re-sign Jorginho from Chelsea should he get the San Paolo gig.
Meanwhile, Europa League quarter-finalists Roma have also been linked due to reported poor relationships between the players and boss Paulo Fonseca.
Sarri, who won the competition with Chelsea two years ago, would also welcome work in the Italian capital.

Man Utd transfer target Paulo Dybala ‘to sit down with Juventus for contract talks in May over £8.7m-plus-a-year terms’

MANCHESTER UNITED transfer target Paulo Dybala is reportedly set for contract talks with Juventus next month. The Red Devils were linked with the attacker in January as reports claimed Dybala, 27, was set for an exit if he did not agree a new deal.
Manchester United have been long-term admirers of Juventus star Paulo Dybala
Ed Woodward and John Murtough may now have to turn to alternative targets
Talks had stalled between Juventus and Dybala but the two parties are now believed to be ready to sit down to discuss terms.
And the Argentina international could be offered an £8.7million annual salary to sign, according to Italian newspaper Tuttosport.
That would represent a £2.1m increase on Dybala’s current £6.5m wages , which shows the Old Lady are determined to keep him.
The development will come as a blow for United, who have had Dybala in their sights as far back as 2019.
Ed Woodward may have hoped a friendship with Paul Pogba may have enticed Dybala to Old Trafford.
And that is partly because entering contract talks represents a change of heart for Dybala.
He looked poised for a move to Tottenham in 2019 and with his current deal expiring in 2022 his future in Turin was up in the air.

Here’s who Manchester United have signed since Sir Alex Ferguson stepped down

United will likely have to turn their attention to other targets, unless Dybala changes his mind once again.
If the forward fails to commit to a new deal he could be available on a cut-price deal in the summer.
Chelsea and Tottenham will also be monitoring the latest update as both clubs were linked to Dybala as recently as last month.

Cristiano Ronaldo linked with shock PSG transfer in summer if Mbappe quits for Real Madrid amid Juventus struggles

CRISTIANO RONALDO could join Paris Saint-Germain in a shock transfer if Kylian Mbappe leaves for Real Madrid, according to reports. The Juventus superstar, 36, may leave the Italian giants this summer as the club’s struggles on and off the field mount.

Andrea Pirlo’s side look set to surrender their nine-year grasp on the Serie A title with Inter Milan top of the league while they suffered another early exit from the Champions League.
And the club have been hit hard financially by the coronavirus pandemic with major money-saving cutbacks required as soon as possible.
That has led to speculation the £540,000-a-week Ronaldo could be sold for as little as £25million – three years after moving to Turin for £99m.
According to Tuttosport, that could see PSG swoop for the five-time Ballon d’Or winner, who has won trophies in England, Spain and Italy, should Mbappe go.
Ronaldo would help replace the goals lost – he has 32 in 36 this season while Mbappe has 32 in 38.
However, Juve sporting director Fabio Paratici is determined to keep his star man and told Sky Italia in March: “It makes me laugh, I never would’ve thought Ronaldo could be put up for discussion.
“We’re talking about a player who is the current top scorer in Serie A and has won five Ballon d’Or awards.
“He has already won a lot of titles with us and it’s a privilege to have him in our squad.

“We will hold on to him and enjoy him as much as possible. We’re very happy to have him with us.”
Real Madrid are long-term admirers of the Mbappe but know it would take a mammoth bid – even with the rapid forward out of contract in 2022.
The French World Cup winner, 22, hit out at the negative press from the French media, sparking reports he wants out of the Parc des Princes.
The goal machine said: “When you play for a club in your country, when you give everything from your national team. At a certain moment, it tires you out, yes.
“It is different for the players who play abroad, who only come back to France for the national team.
The most important thing is to feel good where you are and enjoy yourself every dayKylian Mbappe

“Me, I am here all the time, so I am spoken about a lot more. But I was aware of this context when signing for PSG.
“We will see for the future. Of course, critics play a part too. Aside from that, it is not just that. The most important thing is to feel good where you are and enjoy yourself every day.”
Liverpool also remain interested in Mbappe but Los Blancos are favourites as they look for Karim Benzema’s successor and face stiff competition for Erling Haaland.
Selling Mbappe may pave the way to fund Lionel Messi instead if their pursuit of Ronaldo fails.
The Barcelona hero, 33, is out of contract this summer and appears no closer to resolving his Nou Camp future.
A reunion with Pep Guardiola at Manchester City appears most likely but PSG are the side able to match the Etihad club for cash.

Rabiot arrived on a free transfer from PSG in 2019 but could be let go to raise funds at the Allianz StadiumCredit: Getty
But it has not worked out as expected with just two Premier League starts.
Now Tuttosport in Italy state the Old Trafford club are looking to ship Van de Beek out – and bring Rabiot in instead.
Juventus were keen on the 19-cap international last summer before his move to Manchester.
And United hope they have retained that interest a year on – then would also be willing to let Rabiot leave.
The French midfielder, 26, joined the Old Lady on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain in 2019.
He has racked up 74 appearances for the Italian giants and still has two years left on his deal.
Van de Beek, a slightly more forward-thinking player, has a current market value of £31.5m according to Transfermarkt, while Rabiot’s is £28.8m.
But Juventus’ financial state may mean they would rather sell the player who has also been linked with Chelsea, Everton and Manchester City.

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who has opted for Bruno Fernandes as his No10 this season, admitted after the recent international break he is desperate to get £125,000-a-week Van de Beek involved more before the end of the season.
The Red Devils have eight Premier League games left and are still hopeful of winning the Europa League.
Solskjaer said: “Donny scored some absolute crackers when we were all back in training on Friday.
“He scored some absolute top, top goals that I’d be really proud of myself and it’s done him the world of good, going away and scoring a goal for Holland.
“We hope we can see a lot of that for the next eight weeks of the season and then to kick on again.”

How Inter Milan could have lined up with Lionel Messi in 2006 after having mind-boggling £225m transfer bid rejected

INTER MILAN could have changed the course of football’s history if they had landed Lionel Messi in 2006 for a staggering £225million.The Serie A giants were unsuccessful with an audacious bid to wrestle the Argentine maestro away from Barcelona aged just 19.
How Inter Milan could have lined up if they had signed Lionel Messi for £225m in 2006
The Italian side offered nearly FIVE times more than the world record transfer fee at the time to try and add Messi to their star-studded line-up.
The £46.6m Real Madrid paid for Zinedine Zidane was still leading the way 15 years ago.
Messi could have slotted into an Inter side coached by former Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini.
The Barca skipper could have landed himself a role on the right wing with another former Catalan giant in Luis Figo on the left.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is still banging in the goals for AC Milan as he approaches his 40th birthday in October.
But back then the Swede was strutting his stuff for arch rivals Inter at the San Siro.
And he formed a dynamic strike partnership with ex-Chelsea star and Messi’s compatriot Hernan Crespo.
Club stalwart Javier Zanetti was a regular in central midfield as well as at full-back and was often partnered by Arsenal invincibles skipper Patrick Vieira.

At right-back Brazilian Maicon bombed down the wing but would later be remembered for the way he was dismantled by a rampaging Gareth Bale.
Fabio Grosso was the Inter left-back fresh from the summer of his life after he scored the penalty that won Italy the 2006 World Cup in the final shoot-out against France.
Another man who made headlines at that year’s World Cup was Marco Materazzi after he was headbutted by Zidane in the final.
The Italian centre-back formed a solid partnership with Colombian Ivan Cordoba in the heart of the defence.
Between the sticks was former Brazilian No1 Julio Cesar.

Juventus came into the game level on points with fifth-placed Napoli and manager Pirlo on the brink.
Reports in Italy said Pirlo was in line for the sack if they failed to win on Wednesday night.
But a first-half strike by Ronaldo and second-half goal from Paulo Dybala secured three vital points.
Lorenzo Insigne scored a penalty in injury time but it proved to be only s consolation as Juve celebrated an important win.
The Old Lady crashed out the Champions League to Porto and patience with Pirlo is running thin, according to Corriere dello Sport.
Club president Andrea Agnelli even held talks with former boss Max Allegri at the weekend.
However, with the club in a transition period, many have called for Pirlo to be supported.
Former Juve ace Fabio Cannavaro said: “Protect Andrea [Pirlo], look how [Napoli boss Gennaro] Gattuso has grown.”

Last month Allegri’s mentor Giovanni Galeone revealed the Italian – who was was Juve boss between 2014 and 2019 – rejected job offers from Arsenal and Chelsea.
He also turned down approaches from Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.
Galeone – whose own managerial career spanned 32 years and 16 teams – said: “The reason is simple: due to some serious family problems with his mother, he had to say no to major clubs.
“Max has said no to Chelsea, Arsenal and Real Madrid. Now he wants to go back and he wants a first-class club. He also rejected PSG.
“He rejected Real because he had previously declined the clubs already mentioned. I said to him: ‘But how can you reject such an important club?’

“Max’s response surprised me: ‘I’m not a clown. If I said no to other clubs, I can’t accept another offer after only ten days, I’m not a clown.’
“Allegri is an honest man, a gentleman and a great professional.”
Chelsea were looking for Maurizio Sarri’s replacement in the summer of 2019 – with the Italian taking over from Allegri at Juventus – before appointing Frank Lampard.
And Mikel Arteta came in following Unai Emery’s dismissal at Arsenal at the end of the year.
