PSG ‘agree to sign Gianluigi Donnarumma on free transfer before immediately sending keeper out on loan’

PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN have agreed to sign Gianluigi Donnarumma on a free transfer and will loan him back to Italy for the first season, according to reports. The Italian keeper failed to agree fresh terms with AC Milan so will leave the San Siro side on June 30.

And PSG have beaten Juventus to his signature, according to journalist Duncan Castles.
The Ligue 1 giants have recently extended Keylor Navas’ deal which seemed to suggest they would swerve Donnarumma, 22.
But they are said to have moved anyway in what appears to be a sound move for the future.
Donnarumma has made it clear he wants to play Champions League football which would leave only a handful of teams for him to join on loan.
Inter, AC, Atalanta and Juve are the four teams who qualified for the Champions League in Italy.
But Juve now seems an unlikely destination after Donnarumma was reportedly left in tears after Milan Ultras threatened him amid links with the Old Lady.
Jose Mourinho is also said to have called the keeper to convince him to join Roma who are only playing in the Europa Conference League with his old team Spurs.
Donnarumma came up through the Milan academy and made his Serie A debut at 16.

He has also been linked with Barcelona who are said to be willing to sacrifice ‘untouchable’ Marc Andre ter Stegen and replace him with the Italy international.
And Chelsea and Manchester United have both been linked given the complicated goalkeeping situation at both clubs.
Milan technical director Paolo Maldini recently told reporters: “He [Donnarumma] has been a protagonist of this season.
“It’s getting more and more difficult to find players who start in a team and always end up staying.
“The roads with Gigio are splitting, I can only wish him the best.”
According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Milan want to replace the departing goalkeeper with Lille stopper Mike Maignan.
Milan finished second in Serie A this season, 12 points behind champions and local rivals Inter.

Ahead of captaining his country at Euro 2020, the 28-year-old has emerged as a key target for Serie A side Roma.
Former Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho takes over at the Stadio Olimpico this summer and is said to be a big fan of Xhaka.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Giallorossi have been told to pay £17million for a transfer.
Roma are reportedly keen to tie up the deal before the Euros having previously been stung by targets’ prices increasing after good tournament performances, such as Steven N’Zonzi at the 2018 World Cup.
So far, the Italian side are said to have only offered £13m and have thrown in the option of a player-plus-cash deal to attempt a breakthrough.
Under, 23, spent last season on loan at Leicester but did not feature after February and returned to Rome without scoring a league goal.

While Diawara, also 23, was largely used off the bench throughout his second season with Roma.
Mourinho is reportedly preparing a busy summer in the Italian capital with a host of Premier League targets linked, including Allan Saint-Maximin, Sergio Romero and Aleksandar Mitrovic.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are pressing ahead with an overhaul of their own and SunSport understands a move for Raheem Sterling is on the cards.
Players will likely have to leave before signings can be made with Matteo Guendouzi nearing the exit door.

Chelsea ‘agree’ to sell Fikayo Tomori to AC Milan in £25m transfer after England star’s impressive loan spell

CHELSEA have agreed to sell Fikayo Tomori to AC Milan for £25million, according to reports. The young defender spent the second half of the season at San Siro, making 22 appearances for Stefano Pioli’s side.

Happy with his performances, Milan chiefs have been working on making the deal permanent.
They were keen to negotiate a discount, however, on the £25m option to buy agreed in January’s loan transfer.
But according to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea haven’t budged, with Milan set to pay the amount in full to acquire Tomori’s services on a full-time basis.
The one-cap England international, 23, will pen a five-year contract.
He will also have the opportunity to play in the Champions League next term, after Milan secured a third place finish during a dramatic Serie A climax.
After making his Chelsea debut on the final day of the 2015-16 season, Tomori embarked on a number of loan spells before returning to the first-team fold.
Underwhelming stints at Brighton and Hull did little to raise Tomori’s stock.
But a season under Frank Lampard at Derby County did the trick.

He found himself a first-team option at Stamford Bridge during the 2019-20 season, although his game time evaporated.
Tomori made 27 appearances for the Blues in total, with only four coming during the first half of the 2020-21 campaign.
He was then shipped off to Milan in January, where he excelled alongside Simon Kjaer and Alessio Romagnoli.

CHRISTIAN VIERI believes Jose Mourinho is keen to take Cristiano Ronaldo to Roma. There has been a lot of speculation about the striker’s future, with Manchester United and PSG both linked with a blockbuster transfer.

And Massimiliano Allegri’s return to Juventus has added further fuel to the fire.
However, former Italy attacker Vieri had added another name into the mix in Roma, where Mourinho will take over next season.
And Vieri thinks Ronaldo could become the focal point of the ex-Tottenham boss’ new project in the Italian captial.
Speaking on Bobo TV via Marca, Vieri said: “(Jose) Mourinho wants to bring Cristiano Ronaldo to Roma.”
However, his claim quickly received backlash from another former Italy international, Antonio Cassano.
He said: “Ronaldo to Roma? That’s nonsense.
“Mourinho didn’t get on well with Cristiano Ronaldo at Real Madrid. How can you think he’s going to go to Roma?
“I don’t know if it’s because they have the same agent, Jorge Mendes, or a Portuguese sporting director, but how can you think Cristiano’s going to Roma?”

Ronaldo’s future is up in the air amid speculation he could leave Juventus

Manager Andrea Pirlo only pockets £1.6million-per-year after taking charge of the club
Ronaldo may have to take a pay cut in order to return to Old Trafford and it is unlikely Roma would be able to compete in that department.
A report from Corriere dello Sport also suggests Ronaldo could leave Juventus due to the fact he has won every domestic competition in Italy.
But girlfriend Georginia Rodriguez thinks Ronaldo will not be moving this summer, so the 36-year-old’s future is very uncertain at present.

Arsenal transfer target Achraf Hakimi’s agent reveals ‘all players have a price’ in hint at Inter Milan exit

ARSENAL could be set for a major transfer boost after Achraf Hakimi’s agent suggested ‘all players have a price’.The Inter Milan full-back is highly sought after and agent Alejandro Camano hinted at a potential move this summer.
Achraf Hakimi has gained a number of suitors after helping Inter Milan to the Serie A title

Inter need to sell players to balance the books, and could offload the right-back in a bid to cut the wage budget by 20% while raising £86.5million in transfer fees.
Hakimi alone could fetch £51.5m, with PSG said to be eyeing a deal for the Morocco international.
But Arsenal could also fancy their chances of landing the transfer target following Camano’s admission.
He told Telelombardia: “In the future I don’t know, all players have a price and I believe that if all of Europe has seen Inter and their title-winning football, all the players will be taken into consideration.
“There is no situation at the moment (with Hakimi). I haven’t talked to any club and I don’t think Inter have either. It is a difficult time for football, there is a difficult economic situation.
“I think it is not possible today to say who will leave Inter to fix this difficult economic situation.
“He (Hakimi) is very young, joining Inter was a very intelligent decision. When the transfer window opens, we receive calls for all the players.
“The transfer market begins and if Inter are in trouble we will understand what to do. The market will tell.”

As well as Arsenal and PSG, Chelsea are another club that has been linked with Hakimi.
Bayern Munich have also been credited with an interest in Hakimi, so the full-back could be in a privileged position to choose his destination this summer.
However, with no concrete offers for the 22-year-old according to his agent, Arsenal still have a chance to sign him, particularly as Inter may be open to selling.

Girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez recently revealed that her man was staying in Turin but it appears she could be wrong.
In fact, it is becoming increasingly likely that Ronaldo will make a transfer move in the summer, report Corriere dello Sport.
The outlet points to the fact CR7 has won every domestic title in Italy as a reason why he could leave, as well as the arrival of Max Allegri.
However, there is an obstacle in the way – the price it would take for a club to lure Ronaldo away.
Corriere dello Sport suggests Old Trafford is one possible destination for the former United man, but the Red Devils would only be able to offer him reduced wages compared to what he currently earns.
It is also possible Paul Pogba could be used in an exchange for the forward.
However, PSG may have something to say about that, as they are reportedly eyeing a two-year deal for Ronaldo due to the uncertain future of Kylian Mbappe.
Paul Pogba is wanted by Juventus and could be used in a potential swap deal for Ronaldo

Christian Eriksen shocked by Antonio Conte’s Inter Milan exit and fuels transfer talk by saying future out of his hands

CHRISTIAN ERIKSEN was left shocked when Inter Milan boss Antonio Conte decided to quit just weeks after leading the club to their first Serie A title since 2010.The Italian giants ended Juventus’ nine-year stronghold on the top flight by coasting to a superb title triumph ahead of local rivals AC Milan.

But Conte, who only joined the club in 2019, decided to leave just days after the end of the season following a row with the Chinese owners.
And Eriksen, who began to thrive under the Italian in the final few months of the campaign, admits the news came as a surprise.
Speaking Corriere dello Sport, he said: “We knew that the coach would talk to the club, it also happened at the end of last season, but honestly what happened was a sporting shock.”
The 29-year-old Dane struggled for minutes in the first half of the 2020-21 season as he remained out of favour with Conte.
But an impressive finish to the title-winning campaign saw Eriksen feature much more and he netted three times in their final eight Serie A matches.
“Antonio and I have always been good friends, he simply saw football in one way and I in another,” he added.
However, despite an upturn in form, Eriksen has still only managed eight goals in 60 games for Inter.
And while the ex-Tottenham man does have a contract with the club until 2024, he refuses to rule out a move this summer.

When asked about his future, he said: “Personally there was nothing to discuss. It was about winning and that’s what we did. And after all, I can thank him for winning a trophy.”
“Unfortunately I don’t know what will happen and at the moment I’m not focused on this, but on the European Championship.
“It will also depend on the new coach and on Inter’s strategies. On a technical level, of course, I’d like to play more advanced rather than stay ahead of the defence.”
Back in January, Eriksen was linked with a sensational return to Tottenham on a loan deal in much the same way Gareth Bale did last summer.

Juventus ‘to extend Alvaro Morata’s loan transfer for another season and will pay Atletico Madrid further £8.5m’

ALVARO MORATA will extend his loan stay at Juventus, according to reports. The ex-Chelsea forward, 28, will stay in Turin for a second season on loan from Atletico Madrid.
Alvaro Morata will stay at Juventus for another year, reports sayCredit: Reuters
Spanish striker Morata arrived in Italy last summer on a one-year loan deal.
Juventus had three options this summer – to let Morata go, extend the loan deal by a year, or sign him permanently.
And Goal report that the Old Lady will keep him on for another year and pay £8.5m to the Spanish champions.
He scored 20 goals in 44 games for Juventus in what was a disappointing season for the team.
Manager Andrea Pirlo was sacked as they let go of their Serie A crown and just about sneaked into the top four.
Ex-boss Max Allegri returned as manager last week and he’s worked with Morata before in Turin.
The forward won back to back Serie A titles under Allegri in 2015 and 2016 before going back to Real Madrid.
He then moved to Chelsea in 2017 but failed to live up to his £70m price tag and left for Atletico Madrid after 18 months.

The 28-year-old has 38 Spanish caps and 19 goals for his country.
Earlier this year he was diagnosed with a lifelong virus after feeling faint and needing a lie down following a Champions League game.
Former Juve manager Pirlo revealed the striker complained of feeling ill after the 2-1 loss to Porto in February.
Morata was diagnosed with Cytomegalovirus (CMV), which stays in the body for the duration of your life.

However, it is common and usually harmless and can cause flu-like symptoms – similar to those the Spaniard was exhibiting.
CMV is related to the herpes virus that causes cold sores and chickenpox but many people will carry it without realising.
It is transmitted via close contact but can only be passed on when it is ‘active’ – usually when you first contract the virus.
