However, the spending might not be done there, with reports from Italy suggesting Atalanta midfielder Malinovskyi could soon be on his way to North London.
With one year left on his current contract, Atalanta are open to selling the 29-year-old and fresh interest from Spurs could see him leave Serie A.
According to TuttoAtalanta, Spurs have overtaken newly promoted Nottingham Forest in the race to sign him, with the two parties understood to have agreed personal terms.
But a sticking point in the deal remains what each club want from the deal.

Atalanta want to cash in on the Ukrainian this summer, but Spurs prefer a loan move with an option to buy next summer.
Malinovskyi played just six minutes of his side’s 2-0 win against Sampdoria during last weekend’s Serie A curtain raiser, but provided an assist during his brief cameo.
He has been at the Bergamo based club since joining from KRC Genk in 2019.
The 129 appearances he has made for them has yielded a return of 29 goals and 27 assists, with all but 11 of his goal contributions coming in the league.

Earlier this week, Spurs sealed the £18m transfer of Udinese full-back Destiny Udogie.
Spurs have splashed out roughly £110m on new signings this summer, with the majority of this being shelled out for former Everton attacker Richarlison.

‘Argumentative’ Rafa Benitez had problems with Man Utd star Cristiano Ronaldo and John Terry, says Italy icon Materazzi

MARCO MATERAZZI says “argumentative” Rafa Benitez had “problems” with him, John Terry at Chelsea and even Cristiano Ronaldo at Real Madrid. The 48-year-old Italian World Cup-winning defender played under the Spaniard at Inter Milan in 2010.

Since then, the former Everton centre-half has publicly criticised Benitez on several occasions.
Now he has reignited the row by saying: “It’s not that he started well or ended badly at Inter. It’s that he didn’t even finish.”
Benitez, 62, signed a two-year deal at Inter after six years in charge of Liverpool.
But he was sacked just months later in December after winning the Fifa Club World Cup, following disappointing results in Serie A and Champions League.
Materazzi, who famously goaded Zinedine Zidane into headbutting him in the 2006 World Cup final to get the Frenchman sent off, said: “He erased everything that [Jose] Mourinho had done.

“A manager is good when he builds empathy with players. We all had a good relationship with Mou, he did something really important.”
Mourinho lifted the Champions League, Serie A and Coppa Italia with Inter before taking over Real Madrid.
Materazzi said his replacement Benitez “surely has the knowledge” after he “won the Champions League at Liverpool against Milan”.
However, he says the ex-Newcastle chief did not like him – and has also enjoyed a rocky relationship with club icons like Terry and Ronaldo.
He continued: “At Inter he had problems with me.
“At Napoli he had problems with Cannavaro, at Chelsea he had problems with Terry and at Real Madrid he had problems with Cristiano or with somebody.
“He doesn’t like being told things and he’s always argumentative.
“Is it always the other people’s fault? In any case, I thanked him because I tried to take advantage of those mistakes and get some benefit from them.” More

Chelsea ‘closing in on £12m transfer of Inter Milan wonderkid Cesare Casadei after having two bids rejected’

CHELSEA are closing in on the £12million transfer of Inter Milan wonderkid Cesare Casadei, according to reports. The Blues have had two offers rejected for the 19-year-old midfielder.
Cesare Casadei could make a £12m move to Chelsea this weekCredit: Getty
But the Guardian report they will go back in with a third bid they feel confident should be enough for a player who is still yet to make a senior appearance for cash-strapped Inter.
And a deal may well get completed as early as this week.
However, Chelsea face competition from Nice for the rising star’s signature.
Thomas Tuchel has plenty of options in midfield plus is still chasing Frenkie de Jong.

So Casadei could be placed into the development squad or sent back to Serie A on loan.
The 6ft 1in ace was recently talked up by Italian national team coach Maurizio Viscidi as one to keep an eye on.
The 62-year-old told Gazzetta dello Sport he was particularly impressed by his attacking qualities in the box – which he rates better than current Italy international Nicola Barella and Davide Frattesi.
The goalscoring talent notched 16 goals for the Inter youth team from the middle of the park – and was crowned their young player of the year.

However, the Italy Under-19 international – who has three goals in ten caps – is yet to make the breakthrough into the senior side at the San Siro under Simone Inzaghi.
Casadei would be the latest teenager to make the move to Stamford Bridge this summer.
Highly-rated Aston Villa midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka signed for £20m while goalkeeper Gabriel Slonina, 18, joined from Chicago Fire.
And the Guardian report adds they still hope to add Palmeiras’ Endrick before the end of the transfer window on September 1. More

In the video, the man who was with Rabiot said: “I am here with the great player Rabiot, of Juventus, now in England. So I wish you the best brother. Bye bye.”
To which Rabiot responded: “Thank you. Bye.”
Rabiot, 27, has been linked with a £15million move to Man United from Serie A side Juventus.
And following United football director John Murtough’s visit to Turin to finalise the deal, it now appears to be all but complete.

Murtough jetted off to Italy last week to negotiate Rabiot’s contract details with his agent and mum Veronique.
The talks reportedly went well, and now the video which has emerged today appears to show the fruits of that labour from the two parties.
Man United were plunged deeper into crisis this week following the 4-0 humiliation against Brentford.
The Red Devils were 4-0 down inside 35 minutes, the quickest they have ever conceded four goals in the Premier League era.

United’s goal this window has been to try and recruit Frenkie De Jong, but this has thus far proved fruitless and instead United have opted to try and sign Rabiot.
The deal for him has met backlash from fans and pundits alike, with ex-player Lou Macari openly questioning the transfer on United’s in-house channel MUTV.
SunSport revealed Rabiot’s stats were worse than midfield counterparts Fred and Scott McTominay, so it’s clear to see why some might be disillusioned with the transfer. More

Ronaldo was apart of the United team which fell to a crushing 4-0 defeat to Brentford on Saturday.
An early error from the experienced David de Gea sucked all belief out of Erik ten Hag’s squad, before De Gea gifted another goal to The Bees when he passed the ball to an under pressure Christian Eriksen.
Two more goals followed swiftly after, with the rout being completed within 35 minutes following a stunning counter-attack from Brentford.
Dutch coach Ten Hag made three changes at half-time to try and engineer a comeback, to no avail, with the fallout after the game causing a HEATED debate between Gary Neville and Jamie Redknapp.

Ronaldo, 37, continues to be linked with a transfer away from Old Trafford this summer.

Ronaldo wants to play Champions League football and compete for the top honours in the game – something not currently on offer with the shambles at United.
According to reporter Tancredi Palmeri, the forward’s name was put to the two San Siro clubs.

However, he adds neither side were willing to explore the possibility of landing the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.
Inter boast Romelu Lukaku, Lautaro Martinez and Edin Dzeko as strikers while Serie A champs AC have Ante Rebic, Olivier Giroud, Divock Origi and, when he returns from surgery, Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
