He is now free to pursue a move to France, despite proving to be useful part of Inter’s title-chasing squad last season.
Inter confirmed online that they were ending the contract with Sanchez.
They announced on their club website: “FC Internazionale Milano can confirm that an agreement has been reached to terminate Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez’s contract by mutual consent.
“The Club would like to wholeheartedly thank Alexis for these last three seasons, in which the Nerazzurri won three major honours, and we wish him all the best for his future career.”

The attacker is now expected to join Marseille and their new, fiery boss Igor Tudor.
Sanchez’s first season at Inter was on loan where he chipped in four goals and got eight assists in 22 games.
In their title-winning 2020-21 campaign, he scored seven and assisted five as Inter finished 12 points clear of rivals AC Milan.
Even last season he still contributed heavily and made 27 league appearances as Inter finished 2nd.

The move to Marseille is just the latest chapter of Sanchez’s long career.
After five years at Udinese, he moved to Barcelona in 2011.
He scored 39 goals in 88 games during his time at the Nou Camp.
The Chilean then took the Premier League by storm after a 2014 move to Arsenal as he rumbled defences with his sharp, direct movement.
He then joined Manchester United in 2018 but failed to make the same impact, scoring only 3 goals in his two years at Old Trafford.
Sanchez is the latest high-profile star to have his contract terminated following on from Aaron Ramsey last month. More

However, just three minutes into the game he made a huge blunder.
Dybala stepped up to take a corner, but before he could make the kick he scuffed the floor with his boot.
This sent the ball rolling straight back off the pitch and out for a goal kick, much to the disappointment of the Roma players waiting for the delivery.
Fans took to Twitter to react to the awful error, with one person jokingly referencing his amazing unveiling: “So that’s why they were quite so excited he’d signed!”

Another added: “Dybala had the entire city of Rome greet him just to scuff one of the worst corners you’ve ever seen.”
But, despite the early error, Roma went on to win the game 5-0.
Dybala joined Roma in a free transfer last month after leaving Juventus in June.
He made a huge impact upon his arrival, breaking a record number of shirt sales previously set by Cristiano Ronaldo when he joined Juventus in 2018.

He was also greeted by tens of thousands of supporters at a spine-tingly unveiling.
After signing a three-year deal with the Europa Conference League champions, he said: “The days that led me to this signing were a combination of many emotions: the determination and the speed with which Roma showed they wanted me made the difference.
“I am joining a growing team, with a club that continues to lay ever more solid foundations for the future and a coach, Jose Mourinho, with whom it is a privilege to be able to work.”
Dybala is no stranger to Italian football, having scored 115 goals in 293 appearances for Juventus.
He won five consecutive Serie A titles and helped the club to the 2017 Champions League Final, so he will be considered a crucial asset for the upcoming season.

With the legendary forward wanting to leave, United have been shopping around for firepower this window, and landed on former West Ham star Arnautovic.
Reports earlier this week indicated The Red Devils were lining up a shock bid for the 33-year-old.
However, it has now been revealed by journalist Gianluca Di Marzio that United have submitted an offer for him.
But current club Bologna have rejected a £9m bid.

The Austrian scored 14 Serie A goals for them last season, so it is understandable why they would be reluctant to let him go.
Premier League fans will be all-to-familiar with Arnautovic, with him spending six years in English football at Stoke City and West Ham.
The attacker scored just 22 times for Stoke in 145 games, with his creative side being more potent throughout his time at The Potters.
His record at West Ham was far more impressive, contributing 40 goals in 65 games.

He went on to play for Stoke and West Ham in the Premier League before moving to China in 2019 and he then went to Italy last season.

Ten Hag refused to confirm the story, saying: “I don’t go into names, it is pre-season, maybe 250 players have been linked with Manchester United so that is it.
“We have two strikers, maybe a third with Marcus Rashford – but he had a really good pre=season on the left side.”
It is understood if Arnautovic does move to United, it would be as a squad player rather than a regular starter.
United have also spoken to RB Salzburg about a move for Benjamin Sesko although the Austrian side are reluctant to let their teenage forward go.

Former Arsenal and Chelsea star Nicolas Anelka is ‘ashamed’ of nightmare spell at Juventus after transfer in 2013

NICOLAS ANELKA has played for some of the biggest clubs in the world, but he admits he got it wrong at Juventus. After a career that spanned France, England, Turkey, China and India, the former striker has described his stint in Italy as the worst of his career.

Signing on a six-month loan from Shanghai Shenhua in January 2013, Anelka played just three times and failed to score as the Bianconeri won the league.
Speaking to TuttoJuve in 2019, the Frenchman, now 43, said: “I had decided to accept Juve because it is a great club, with a good history and also because they were leading Serie A.
“Unfortunately, this will remain my worst experience [in football] since I only played 45 minutes and I never wore the shirt at Juventus Stadium in front of the fans.
“Honestly, when someone talks to me about Juventus I try to change the subject immediately… I’m ashamed of that transfer!
“I played and scored for all the teams I signed for, except Juve.
“So without disrespecting that great team, it cannot be said that I was their player because of how that experience went.”
The forward spent the first couple of months on Juve’s bench, all three outings coming off the bench, before injury took him out of a chunk of the run-in.
    COACH NIC
Few footballers can boast the trophy cabinet of Anelka, who added the Scudetto to his CV despite the quiet Juventus spell.
He also won league titles with Arsenal, Fenerbahce and Chelsea, a Champions League with Real Madrid, and Euro 2000 with France.
Now retired, Anelka wants to pursue a career in coaching having tried his hand at working with Ligue 1 side Lille’s academy.

The Parisian noted back in 2020: “I have just finished working for Lille, I was the attacking coach.
    “It was a wonderful experience.
“This year I have passed my qualifications and I can finally become a coach.”
But last year said the only club he would ever manage would be PSG.
