      Rangers legend Andy Goram undergoes treatment for cancer as club send well wishes to ‘The Goalie’

      RANGERS have revealed that Andy Goram is undergoing hospital treatment for cancer.The Ibrox club are keeping in contact with the nine-in-a-row hero and his family as he goes through the ordeal.

      An Rangers statement read: “Rangers can confirm our legendary goalkeeper, Andy Goram, is undergoing treatment for cancer in a local hospital.
      “Club officials are in regular contact with Andy and his family.
      “The family have asked for privacy at this time.
      “Everyone at Rangers wishes ‘The Goalie” well at this difficult time.”

      There’s been a flood of best wishes and tributes since the news broke.
      Goram is revered in Govan for the role he played in claiming five league titles and ten major honours in all to the club.
      Going on to win 43 caps for Scotland, he paid a touching tribute to his late gaffer Walter Smith on his passing – a hand-written message on a pair of goalie gloves.
      An image showed a pair of white goalkeeper gloves at the Ibrox gates with the words “Rest Easy, Gaffa. RIP Gaffa, from Your Goalie” written on them.

      Rangers make SPFL fixture plea amid Celtic pile-up after Europa League heroics

      Rangers’ Europa League semi-final adds two games to their schedule which potentially includes two more Scottish Cup games – if they get by Celtic tomorrow – and the remaining league fixtures.
      The final league Old Firm clash of the season is sandwiched in between the RB Leipzig semi-finals.
      That run of games follows a 12pm Sunday kick-off against Motherwell on April 24, meaning five HUGE games in the space of 14 days.
      And Van Bronckhorst is looking for support from the SPFL amid the pile-up, with James Tavernier backing that idea.

      CELTIC have come from behind to win a huge Old Firm derby.Aaron Ramsey has put hosts Rangers in front after just two minutes at Ibrox.
      But on six minutes, Tom Rogic levelled for the Bhoys.
      Then just before the break, Cameron Carter-Vickers fired Ange Postecoglou’s side ahead.
      The start to the second half was then delayed as Joe Hart noticed broken glass bottles on the pitch behind his goal.
      And when it did get underway, Celtic kept their city rivals at bay relatively comfortably to earn a deserved win.
      Doing what was required
      Ange Postecoglou will be happy that his team were able to take his words out onto the pitch and apply his tactics to the letter.
      They managed the game well after the early pressure from Rangers and used that experience to deal with the onslaught better in the second half.
      Putting their bodies on the line all afternoon, the home side struggled to work Joe Hart as much as they would have liked.

      Europe the focus now
      Rangers will not give up on retaining their Scottish Premiership crown until it is mathematically not possible.
      With Celtic now six points clear they may need to change their focus to their European adventures.
      The Gers face Braga in a Europa League quarter-final with the winners going on to play either Leipzig or Atalanta.
