      Rangers target’s dad is legendary MMA fighter who accosted THREE burglars by himself after punching through car window

      RANGERS target Million Manhoef is the son of a three-time MMA world champion. The Ibrox men are fighting for the signature of the £2.5m-rated Vitesse Arnhem winger.

      Manhoef is one of the hottest prospects in Dutch football and Gers boss Philippe Clement is keen to snare him next month.
      The 21-year-old comes from famous athletic stock with his father regarded as a fighting icon in Holland. 
      Melvin Manhoef was a feared mixed martial arts and kickboxing legend with one of the best knockout records in history before his retirement last year. 
      Nicknamed ‘No Mercy’ the Suriname-born cage fighter extinguished 29 of his opponents in 32 MMA victories. 

      Manhoef made his debut at the age of 19 and the stoppage-machine only hung up his gloves when he was 45. 
      However, he is arguably next known in the Netherlands for performing a citizen’s arrest on burglars who were casing his home in Amsterdam. 
      Manhoef snr made headlines outside the cage in March 2022 when he chased down three criminals. 
      The 47-year-old ran them off the road before punching through their window and holding them until police arrived.

      At the time he said: “I got out of the car shouting, going crazy saying ‘my family’ and this and that, and I went over to their car and threw one punch through the window, cutting my hand.
      “I got the guys, I was shouting and pulled them out. I didn’t hit them, but I had to say it, I was going through  my mind. I would do it again for my family.”
      Manhoef is revered in combat sports for his longevity and is also the first man to  knock out UFC legend Mark Hunt.

      Second SPFL Premiership match called OFF following Rangers v Ross County postponement

      A SECOND Premiership clash has been called off as snowfall caused by Storm Gerrit sparks chaos on the roads.We told you earlier in the day how Rangers’ Ibrox clash with Ross County fell victim to the weather with the Staggies’ team bus caught up in snowy gridlock on the A9.

      The postponement came only an hour after Well advised fans to take the A92
      And now Motherwell’s visit to Aberdeen has been called off – even though hundreds of ‘Well fans have already embarked on the journey to the North East for the match.
      SunSport understands that the Lanarkshire side ARE already in the Granite City.
      And the postponement came only an hour after Well advised fans to take the A92, due to closures on the A9.
      But with closures now in place on both the A9 AND the A92, and many Motherwell fans locked in gridlock, the match has now been postponed.

      Earlier in the day, Dons chief Alan Burrows had made hopeful noises about the match taking place.
      He wrote: “Pitch / Stadium update: – At the moment, the wind and rain is battering the North East.
      “Another 20mm of rain due to fall on Pittodrie between now and KO and wind currently gusting around about 60/65mph.
      “Despite that, at the moment, the stadium is holding up fairly well. Not too much damage so far, other than some signage.

      “Pitch is wet, but is draining pretty satisfactorily at this stage.
      “We have our ground staff, when they aren’t blowing about the place, on standby should any quick remedial work be required (when the wind eventually eases).
      “Better news is that the worst of the weather is between now and 3.30pm, before it calms down quite a fair bit.
      “As we stand now, with the forecast as it is, things are good to go. If anything changes for the worst, we’ll update in as much time as possible…”
      It’s the second postponement in a matter of days for the Dons, who saw their clash with Dundee called off less than an hour before kick-off at the weekend.

      Rangers v Ross County game OFF with Staggies team bus stranded and unable to get to Ibrox due to Storm Gerrit chaos

      RANGERS’ clash against Ross County tonight has been called OFF after the Highlanders’ team bus was caught up in the chaos on the country’s roads. Parts of the A9 – the only real artery from the Highlands to the Central Belt – are either closed or at a standstill today.

      And with the County team bus still in Inverness at lunchtime, the match has now been postponed following consultation with Police Scotland.
      A Rangers statement read: “Rangers can confirm this evening’s Scottish Premiership fixture with Ross County has been postponed.
      “Despite the Ibrox playing surface being in good condition and ready to host the match, adverse weather conditions on the A9 means our visitors have been unable to reach Glasgow.”
      County said in a statement: “Following consultation with Police Scotland regarding today’s weather conditions on the A9, this evening’s match against Rangers has been postponed.”

      Fans of both teams based in the North of Scotland would also have struggled to have made it for the clash, with police warning people not to travel.
      It’s understood Ross County would only normally have chosen to travel overnight for a daytime match.

      The postponement means that Celtic will be top of the Premiership at the turn of the year regardless of the result on Saturday’s Old Firm clash vs Celtic.
      That’s not ideal for the Gers – but it also gives the Ibrox men essentially a week clear to prepare for the game, while the Hoops had to come through their 3-0 win against Dundee at Dens Park on Boxing Day.

      SPFL Premiership manager to be MIC’D UP during live TV match as viewers get to hear his instructions to players

      ONE of the constant criticisms from football fans in Scotland is that broadcasters aren’t innovative enough with their coverage. But Sky Sports have teamed up with Hibs as they deliver a few MAJOR changes in their coverage of this week’s Edinburgh derby.

      The Jambos visit Easter Road on Wednesday 27 with Hibs boss Nick Montgomery set to wear a microphone during the match, enabling fans watching at home to hear his coaching from the sidelines.
      He will also speak to the commentary team as the game goes on – with assistant boss Sergio Raimundo wearing a bodycam to give a first-person perspective of the team from the dugout.
      There will also be cameras in the Hibs dressing room pre-match, at half-time, and at full-time.
      A Sky statement read: “Supporters will also notice a difference with the matchday interviews with Nick Montgomery being interviewed in his office and a Hibs player during his match preparation inside the dressing room.

      “At full-time there will also be on-pitch interviews.
      “The broadcast aims to capture the passion, drama and key moments of the derby, and follows Sky Sports’ EFL ‘Innovation Game’ last season, which included new behind- the-scenes access for the broadcast of the Wycombe vs Portsmouth match in League One.
      “Hearts have also agreed to a number of activations with Sky Sports for this fixture.
      “Coverage starts on Sky Sports Football at 7pm on Wednesday 27 December, 2023.”

      Watch moment hundreds of banned Eintracht Frankfurt fans gather on freezing HILL to watch their heroes lose to Aberdeen

      EINTRACHT FRANKFURT are renowned for having some of the most fanatical followers on the continent. You will remember the incredible scenes as their supporters – clad in white – clinched the Europa League title against Rangers two seasons back.

      Hundreds of fans were spotted chanting on the hill
      And now hundreds of their followers have proved their devotion to the cause again.
      European football’s governing body Uefa had banned the German outfit from selling away tickets to their Europa Conference League Group G game against Aberdeen on Thursday.
      The Dons had been set to welcome 1,750 Eintracht Frankfurt fans until the ban.
      But the Bundesliga club had the book thrown at them by Uefa after their fans used pyrotechnics and threw objects in their 1-0 away win at Finland’s HJK Helsinki on November 9.

      They were also fined 30,000 Euros.
      But that all came too late for some of the club’s hardiest followers – who had already booked their travel to Scotland and were determined to follow through with the trip.
      And remarkable footage shared on social media last night by photographer Christian Machowski shows a couple of hundred fans gathered on a HILL near Pittodrie as the match got underway.
      The German fans sang and chanted as they stood on the Granite City’s Broad Hill, with only a small police presence keeping an eye on proceedings.

      Things didn’t turn out the way that Frankfurt might have hoped, as they crashed to a 2-0 defeat to Barry Robson’s men.
      One fan wrote: “If I had booked flights and hotel I would have done same and had a party.”
      Machowski replied: “Not sure I would stood on top of that mountain in the cold wind.”
      Another Dons fan chipped in with some local knowledge, writing: “Wasn’t bad tonight, mild for this time of year.”

      Ex-Rangers star sacked as manager by two clubs after being in charge for a total of just NINETEEN games

      Frank de Boer had a glittering playing career, turning out for some of the biggest clubs in world football.
      Coming through Ajax’s famed youth system, de Boer spent more than a decade in the first team, winning five Eredivisie titles, the Champions League, the UEFA Cup and two Dutch Cups.
      De Boer would go on to win La Liga during a four-year spell at Barcelona before joining Galatasaray in 2003.
      After half a season in Turkey, he moved to Rangers in 2004, finishing the 2003/04 campaign in Glasgow but unable to add to his silverware haul.

      His brief spell at Ibrox saw de Boer link up with twin brother Ronald once again, with the duo having played together at Ajax and Barcelona.
      Ronald had joined Rangers four years earlier and had won all three major domestic honours.
      Both de Boer brothers finished their careers career in Qatar with Al-Rayyan and Al-Shamal, with Frank retiring in 2006.
      De Boer quickly moved into coaching, taking charge of Ajax’s academy and also assistant Netherlands boss Bert van Marwijk at the 2010 World Cup, where they reached the final.

      He got his big managerial break in December 2010 when he became caretaker boss at Ajax after Martin Jol’s exit.
      He landed the job permanently, and won four titles back-to-back starting with the 2010/11 campaign.
      It made de Boer the first manager to ever win four successive Eredivisie championships.
      Liverpool reportedly wanted to talk to de Boer in 2012 but he refused the request and stuck with Ajax.
      He quit the Amsterdam giants in 2016 after two disappointing seasons as PSV won the title in both.
      Since then, his managerial career hasn’t yielded the kind of success he achieved at the beginning of his Ajax spell.
      De Boer moved to Inter Milan in August 2016 but was sacked just 85 days later with the Italian giants sitting 12th in Serie A after a run of four defeats in five games.
      The next summer, he was appointed Crystal Palace boss and it turned out to be what’s often viewed as one of the worst managerial reigns in Premier League history.
      Signing a three-year deal on June 26 2017, de Boer was axed just TEN WEEKS later.
      That was after the Eagles lost their opening four matches of the season without scoring a single goal – the first team to have started a top tier season like that for NINETY-THREE years.
      Including an EFL Cup game, de Boer, 53, was in charge of Palace for just 450 minute, the shortest reign in terms of game time in the Premier League era.
      Jose Mourinho blasted de Boer as “the worst manager in the history of the Premier League.”
      After more than a year out, de Boer joined MLS side Atlanta United and won two cup competitions in his first campaign.
      But he was axed in July 2020 after Atlanta were eliminated from the MLS Is Back Tournament after losing all of their games.
      In September that same year, he succeeded Ronald Koeman as manager of the Dutch national team, but his reign started poorly with no wins from his first four matches.
      He was in charge of the Netherlands at the delayed Euro 2020, leading them to the knockout stages as group winners.
      But they were turfed out 2-0 by the Czech Republic at the round of 16 and de Boer was fired.
      He returned to management earlier this year, signing a two-year contract with Al Jazira of the UAE Pro League.
      But unfortunately for, it’s proved to be yet another unsuccessful managerial stint to add to his CV.
      De Boer has been sacked AGAIN – and this time after just 14 games in charge.
      Combined with his short-lived spell at Palace, it means he’s been dismissed from two of his jobs with just 19 games to show for it.
      Al Jazira won the UAE title in 2021, but are languishing in 7th this season having won six of the 14 games with de Boer as boss.

      Rangers legend Paul Gascoigne makes shock appearance in club’s Xmas ad – but he’s left shaking his head at current stars

      RANGERS icon Paul Gascoigne has made a shock appearance in the Ibrox club’s Christmas advert this year.But the Light Blues hero was left shaking his head come the end of the fun festive video.

      The Gers posted the clip on X.com, formerly known as Twitter, to mark the countdown to Christmas and to advertise the various gifts available on the club’s website.
      The video titled ‘This Christmas It’s Rangers All The Way’ features a host of current stars from the first team, including skipper James Tavernier, goalkeeper Jack Butland, Todd Cantwell, Nicolas Raskin Rabbi Matondo and Kemar Roofe.
      Club stalwarts from the past also make an appearance, such as former captain Barry Ferguson, John Brown, Kenny Miller and Marvin Andrews.
      The 1 minute-and-35-seconds-long piece centres on Ibrox faces old and new preparing to sit down for Christmas dinner, with Brown and Ferguson even hilariously vying for a seat at the top of the table by debating who had the better career at the club.

      But the biggest surprise for supporters – and for those around the dinner table – was the arrival of former England star Gascoigne, who came bearing gifts before grabbing himself a seat.
      Gascoigne was a nine-in-a-hero for Gers fans in the mid 1990s and his appearances back at Ibrox always go down well with the Light Blues faithful.
      But despite his iconic status at the club, Gazza was made to WASH THE DISHES as the video concludes with the former England star looking rather displeased with the rest of the Rangers contingent.
      The ad has gone down well with supporters online.

      Writing about the video on social media, one fan wrote: “That is class! Well done to all that made it best Christmas advert this year.”
      Speaking about Gascoigne’s shock inclusion, another added: “No joke, that actually was a lovely surprise, definitely made me smile. Love it.”
