The custom Mansory Black Badge Wraith was written off after it was involved in a collision last September and suffered extensive damage to the left side with Rashford behind the wheel, though, fortunately, no one was hurt in the accident. And Armstong, who has 3.32 million subscribers on his channel, has posted the latest update of the project on his channel. The petrolhead – along with his dad and friends – has been getting his hands dirty for half the year in an attempt to restore the car.READ MORE ON MAN UTDBut Rolls Royce Mansory parts do not come cheaply, and Armstrong revealed in his first video on the project that he needed to splash £90,000 on a second Rolls Royce just for the parts. However, Armstrong’s labour has finally paid off, with the car once again road-worthy.The 47-minute video about the restoration programme kicked off with Armstrong revealing the excruciating detail of the interior design.Countless electrical wires and bolts were needed to bring the interior up to scratch, with the stunning blue seats, carpets and inside lights costing £35,000 alone. Most read in FootballCASINO SPECIAL – BEST CASINO WELCOME OFFERSArmstrong’s father had spent an extraordinary amount of time sorting the wiring for the left door, while they even needed to adjust the boot by bashing it with a hammer to make sure the door would lock in place. However, the intricate nature of the electronics meant even more time was needed to properly code the car.How Marcus Rashford crashed prized Rolls RoyceEven after this, they unfortunately found four electrical faults relating to airbags, seatbelt tension and headrest faults.Additional costs had to be considered too, with the side skirting (£7,000) and an additional forged carbon fibre topping (£2,500)on just one side costing £9,500.Work was also done on the exhaust system. The designer Mansory exhaust mufflers set Armstrong back more than £4,600, with the middle pipework without mufflers used with custom-made quicksilver exhausts costing £2,500.There was then the black rear bumper that brought the total for the rear of the car up to around £20,000, £700 of which was spent on black paint alone. After all was said and done with the bodywork of the Rolls Royce, work was also needed to get the suspension correct. To do this it took an hour to inflate and deflate the wheels and measure them to where they wanted it to be correctly, with the follow-up coding for this then taking one hour to complete.Armstrong ended the video by going to get some custom wheel rims, before revealing the overall cost of the project was £324,000.READ MORE SUN STORIESHowever, Armstrong hinted that the project still had some additions to be made, which he teased would be revealed in a later video.Rashford, meanwhile, has replaced his Rolls with an almost identical one. A YOUTUBER bought Marcus Rashford’s old Rolls-Royce for a cut-price – but admitted “the damage was way worse than I first thought”.
Made by Rolls Royce in collaboration with German luxury car manufacturer Mansory, Rashford originally paid an eye-watering £700,000 for the vehicle.
But the car was written off last September when Rashford was involved in a collision.
YouTuber Mat Armstrong, who boasts 2.55million subscribers, bought the vehicle for £185k, a snip of the original £700k Rashford paid for the vehicle.
Despite the car clearly being severely damaged in the pictures on the online listing, it was claimed by the auction company that the car could start.
But the YouTuber had no such luck, and had to work for much of the evening to fire it up even once.
He jokingly added: “There’s no way they started it. The only person who would know if this thing starts is Rashford.”
After a night toiling away, they eventually did manage to jump start the vehicle, using Mat’s father’s Citroen people-carrier.
Upon closer inspection, Mat said: “The suspension’s a mess,” Before adding: “And the exhaust is perished.”
He then compared the curvature on the car caused by the crash to that of a banana.
One of the Mansory logos on the outside of the car alone would have cost over a grand to replace, which showed the scale of the task ahead.
The YouTuber bought an older second hand Rolls Royce to use for parts, with the cheapest car costing around £90,000.
