The 58-year-old told the Eastern Daily Press: “I was in the left-hand lane, glanced in my rearview mirror and saw this blue car heading straight towards me – going well over the speed limit.
“I spontaneously gripped the steering wheel as tight as I could – so much that I later found out I cracked a bone on my wedding ring finger – and dropped my chin into my chest expecting the worst.
“The car collided into the back of me like an explosion – the sound was frightening.”
Goss revealed he was then hit a second time before his car stopped 100m down the road.
Terrified that his car might burst into flames, Goss said he fought through intense pain to open his door.
He then collapsed on a grass verge nearby before emergency services arrived at the scene.
“I feel lucky to be alive honestly,” he said.
The smash on January 31 left him bed-bound for a week.

Goss said he is now able to walk on his own but is using painkillers after suffering injuries to his ribs, kidneys, lower back and hip.
Goss is best-known for helping Norwich City beat German giants Bayern Munich 2-1 in the Uefa Cup in 1993 – a game in which he scored a stunning volley.
He opened up about his life after football to SunSport in 2019.
After a stint playing in Scotland for Hearts, followed by non-league football at King’s Lynn, he returned to the Norfolk club that’s close to his heart to work on his coaching badges in 1999.
However, at around the same time, his wife Margaret gave birth to their twin sons Jacob and Joseph three months premature.
Two hours after they were born, their weight plummeted to 2 pounds and their lives were in the balance.
Goss told SunSport: “I look back with dread, really.
“My sons were born three months premature. We were living in my in-laws’ house and at that time I had no job and no house.
“My wife and I were taking care of very sick new-born twins. It was like, ‘Welcome to life outside of football.'”
In 2010, Goss took on full-time work at the Norfolk and Norwich Association for the Blind (NNAB), when an ambassadorial role at Norwich City came to an end.
“I was very fortunate enough to meet people from the NNAB and I went in there as a charity fundraiser, which very soon became a job as head of fundraising,” he said.

“My role was to build up a department to take the charity forward in terms of income generation, and I’d been in that role for eight years until Easter. Now I find myself back in that position when I’m unemployed.”
Drawing on his background and legendary status in East Anglia, Goss helped the NNAB generate generous donations, including sponsored bungee jumps.

The star was shaken but unhurt following the collision on Carrington Spur
Photos show that the Black Badge Wraith took a pounding in the crash, with extensive damage to the front, left front wing and a mangled rear left wheel and bumper.
So far there has been 111 bids for the V12 two-door coupe, with the highest currently at £152,500.
Experts say the smashed up car will need at least £100,000 worth of repairs to get it road worthy again – a smart investment for anyone with deep pockets.
Snaps on the SalvageMarket auction site show the grey roller has just 1,135 miles on the clock and boasts a full “Mansory” kit, which adds significantly to the value.

The engine and interior also look to be mostly undamaged, although the passenger side airbags did inflate in the crash.
Rashford’s Rolls was wrecked after a collision with a car driven by a gran, 74, in September last year.
The England ace had just left United’s training ground in Carrington on his way home from his side’s 1-0 Premier League win at Burnley.
The collision sent his 2.5-ton vehicle — which has a top speed of 155mph — into a pole on a traffic island.

Luckily both drivers escaped without injury.
Marcus Rashford ‘seconds from parking ticket’ after parking on double yellows
The gran had no idea who Rashford was and she was left shaken and confused, a source said.
A source told The Sun at the time: “Marcus immediately checked to see if the woman was okay and swapped details.”
Maintenance engineer Peter Laycock, 36, caught the aftermath of the accident on his mobile phone after arriving at the scene at around 12.20am.
Peter said: “There were loads of police blocking the road asking cars to turn around because there was debris all over the road.
“I could see guys in United clothes who must have come from the training ground. There were a lot of bystanders saying, ‘It’s Marcus Rashford’s car’.”
The accident happened in a 40mph zone on Carrington Spur near United’s Aon training complex — where players had returned by coach just before midnight after the Burnley match.
In a post on Instagram which referred to United’s away win, the striker wrote: “3 points on the road! I’m alright guys thanks for the messages.”
Rashford, 26, owns three Rolls-Royces – the £700k Black Badge Wraith involved in the crash, a £390,000 Black Badge Cullinan and he bought a £560,000 Cullinan Blue Shadow in August last year.
Rashford also has a £280,000 McLaren 765 Long Tail and a £350,000 Lamborghini Urus Performante.
Earlier this week the star copped a £60 parking ticket after leaving his McLaren on double yellow lines.
The star had pulled his McLaren 765LT up outside offices for a construction and property development company when a warden snagged him.

Rashford was then seen grabbing the ticket, before zooming off in his car.

The 26-year-old was snapped after being handed a yellow card by a traffic warden when he met a teammate for lunch.

Last month Rashford went to the Juniper Restaurant in Wilmslow, Cheshire for lunch with fellow United player Tyrell Malacia.
The England international had left his £280,000 sports car parked on double yellow lines outside.
It took just 15 minutes for an eagle-eyed warden to spot his foul play, and he duly issued a £60 parking ticket on the star’s motor, which has a top speed of 205mph.
And that left Rashford with a nasty surprise as he headed back out to his car after around an hour.

Glazers want Man Utd stars to wear augmented reality camerasBy Gary Stonehouse
MANCHESTER UNITED stars could potentially soon be wearing cameras in matches as part of a money-spinning plan by the Glazer family.
The Americans have recently sold a 25 per cent minority share in the Red Devils to Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Ineos.
But they have kept the majority stake, despite the heavy criticism from supporters ever since their ownership began in 2005.
It was previously reported how Joel and Avram Glazer were keen to stay at the club as they believe that it has huge potential for “organic growth” over the coming years.
Now ESPN has claimed that one of the potential ideas that has been talked about by the Americans relates to Augmented Reality (AR).
They report that a source who is familiar with the Glazers’ business model told them: “The big idea, or maybe the big hope, that the Glazers have – and this was driven by Ed Woodward – is the emergence of Augmented Reality.
“The technology is already out there whereby a player could have an AR wearable on his body and a supporter anywhere in the world could pay a small fee to experience a game through the eyes of his favourite player.
“Just imagine how much United could generate from their huge global fanbase if supporters were able to pay to be Marcus Rashford or Bruno Fernandes for 90 minutes?”
And it also said that United’s much-maligned ex-executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward had confirmed to them that AR had been seen as a “huge opportunity” that potentially could have been monetised by the club.
The Glazers also own NFL franchise Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who became the first American football team to utilise AR back in 2016.
However, the Premier League club have not yet been able to explore potential opportunities due to the use of bodycams in competitive matches being outlawed by IFAB.
Several clubs did trial bodycams during pre-season while Tottenham star Brennan Johnson also wore one for the pre-match warm-up against Wolves in November.

Club apologise for ‘jaw-droppingly offensive’ Murder on the Dancefloor stop sign post of player who killed man in crash

A LEAGUE of Ireland club has deleted and apologised for a controversial social media post of a player holding a stop sign featuring the song Murder On The Dancefloor. It had been pointed out the man had been convicted of killing a dad-of-two in a car crash.
Galway United’s Instagram post image was accompanied by the Sophie Ellis-Bextor hit Murder On The Dancefloor

Tragic Andrezej Obalek died in the crash
The Instagram post by Galway United to promote a Premier Division clash against St Patrick’s Athletic tomorrow showed Ed McCarthy, 22, holding up the traffic sign.
The image was accompanied by the Sophie Ellis-Bextor hit Murder On The Dancefloor and a golf club that is used to tee off and hit a ball long distances, which is known as a driver.
The Moyross, Co Limerick native was 19 when he was given a two-year suspended sentence and a seven-year driving ban in November 2020 after pleading guilty to dangerous driving causing the death of Andrezej Obalek, 55.
McCarthy was driving home from a training session with Cork City on February 18 that year at Ballybeg, Buttevant, Co Cork on the main Cork-Limerick road at around 10.40pm and was speeding through bends.

He lost control of his car and crossed over the divide to the wrong side of the road, hitting the Polish national’s car and causing him to hit a ditch and die instantly.
McCarthy also hit another car that was following behind Mr Obalek’s vehicle and that driver suffered minor injuries.
He told a court he “never meant harm to anyone” and “never set out to do anything like that to anyone”.
During the trial, Judge Sean O’Donnabhain at Cork Circuit Criminal Court read a victim impact statement by Obalek’s sister, Urszula Obalek-Owstrowska.

It said: “Andrezej’s death caused a great gap in my life that I cannot fill with anything. I am still waiting for his calls, text messages, full of optimism.
“You robbed me of this forever. I believe that the greatest punishment for you will be living with the knowledge that you have killed a great man.”
The judge then addressed the court saying: “I hope the victim impact statement by Mr Obalek’s sister is burned into his brain and he never forgets it.
“It is a belief that she has expressed to bring out the hurt that she has felt over the loss of her brother.”
After it was posted, social media users were quick to point out the problems surrounding the image.
In a post about the picture on Reddit, one user said: “Wow, not a good look at all.”
Another added: “That golf club is a driver as well. Just jaw-droppingly offensive.”
On X, one user said: “What would possess someone to think that was a good idea?”
    ‘Tasteless’
Another described it as “horrible” and “tasteless, from both club and player”.
The post on Instagram has since been deleted.
Today, Galway United said it had meant no offence and wanted to “unreservedly apologise”.
A statement on the club’s website read: “Galway United wish to advise that there was no offence intended by a recent social media post issued by the club and would like to unreservedly apologise for any hurt or distress that the post may have caused.”
    New contract
Right-sided defender or midfielder McCarthy signed for Galway United in February 2022.
McCarthy, who previously played for Cork City, Treaty United and Regional United, signed a new contract at Galway United last month.
He had been named in the 2023 Professional Footballers Association Ireland First Division Team of the Year.

And if points are given for flowery descriptions then the Sauber-backed team would zoom up the constructors’ table from sorry also-rans under their 2023  Alfa Romeo sponsorship to serious title contenders this year.
Sauber say the C44 car is “a marked departure from its predecessor” with a “slew of changes”.
One alteration could be particularly important – from push-rod to pull-rod suspension.
The C44 also has new-look revised sidepods and engine cover as well as a different floor.

As well as all that, Sauber are promising “important updates” early in the season, which starts in Bahrain on March 2.

However, despite the stability behind the wheel, there was uncertainty from F1 fans over the C44’s startling appearance.
One race-lover compared it to something presumably never seen before – a blend of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and the ever-changing robotic movie heroes The Transformers.

Ex-Premier League manager slapped with ban from driving for six months and fined after being caught speeding

AN Ex-Premier League manager has been banned from driving and fined after being caught speeding.Former Leeds boss Jesse Marsch was handed the ban and a fine of £170 at Bradford Magistrates Court on January 19.

The offence took place on June 17 of last year when his car was clocked travelling at 67mph in a temporary 50mph zone between Junction 41 and Junction 44 of the M1.
The American was not physically present at Bradford Magistrates Court to hear the matter being dealt with.
Marsch, 50, managed Leeds from February 2022 for 12 months before getting the sack.
He arrived in England with an impressive coaching pedigree at New York Red Bulls, RB Leipzig and RB Salzburg.

The American aimed to build on predecessor Marcelo Bielsa’s fast-paced style.
But Marsch was unable to align his philosophy with results, winning just 11 of his 37 games at the helm.
Results never improved and with the revolting crowd turning ugly, Marsch’s departure was always going to be just a matter of time.

Leeds went on to be relegated as Javi Gracia and Sam Allardyce failed to turn things around.
And Marsch remains without a club despite being strongly tipped to take charge at Southampton last summer.
Leicester also made an approach before settling for Enzo Maresca.
It comes as Marsch took aim at the negative approach taken by many of the big names who analyse football matches.
In particular, he honed in on no-nonsense Irishman Keane — famous for his withering put-downs and aggressive TV style.
Appearing on Simon Jordan’s Up Front podcast, he said: “I think Roy can be kind of an a**hole.
“There’s something about English culture — that kind of negative, edgy, cutting… that’s the truth. He says it like it is.
