Last month, 64-year-old Kamara revealed he’s fighting Apraxia of Speech after viewers spotted him slurring his words.
Shortly after the announcement, he confirmed that he was leaving the Sky Sports football show after 24 years on the programme.
Apraxia is a condition which affects an area of the brain that controls how we speak.
His statement read: “My long career at Sky Sports has never felt like work. I’ve spent 24 terrific years at Sky, and leave with the best of memories.

There was also expected to be a change of host until Jeff Stelling pulled a dramatic U-turn, going back on his earlier decision to quit the show.
It means quick-witted Stelling will still be the lead for Soccer Saturday next season.
He tweeted: “Thanks to everyone for their kind words about my decision to carry on presenting @GilletteSoccerS.
“Felt job wasn’t complete until Merse finally masters pronouncing Allan Saint-Maximin properly!!”
Stelling could be set to be joined by another influx of new pundits.
Their last major clearout came in 2020, when Charlie Nicholas, Phil Thompson and Matt Le Tissier were ditched for some fresh voices.

Old favourite Paul Merson has been joined in the studio this season by the likes of Michael Dawson, Clinton Morrison and Tim Sherwood.
A number of new pundits have been tipped to join Stelling and Co.
These include former Manchester United captain Roy Keane, who would certainly add some new life to the format.
Another to be backed is former Arsenal favourite Alex Scott, although her current gig hosting Football Focus would possibly block that move.

Golovkin’s tragic past after two brothers died in the army inspires epic career which will now see Canelo trilogy bout

BREWING underneath boxer Gennady Golovkin’s epic rise is a tragic story that haunts him to this day.The Kazakhstan middleweight, who is intensely private, had to deal with the unexplained death of two his brothers who joined the Russian Army and never came back home.
Gennady Golovkin’s back story is rocked by tragedy
Before Golovkin became a king of the ring he lost both his brothersCredit: USA TODAY Sports
Sergey and Vadim Golovkin introduced their younger sibling to the sport that eventually would earn him over £25million, urging him to forget his football dreams and aim for a career in the ring.
But when the family was notified of their deaths four years apart from each other (in 1990 and 1994), Gennady made it his mission to honour them.
Since then, the man nicknamed Triple G has fought an nearly 400 times and prides himself on his iron jaw.
He has also battled Canelo Alvarez in two epic bouts, one that ended in a draw and another a points loss that fans believe he was cheated out of.
The pair will face-off again in September to decide the winner of their trilogy.
Humble Gennady now lives with his wife Alina in Santa Monica, California, while training out of a gym in the mountains of Big Bear.
However, when he turned 22 ‘GGG’ nearly turned his back on boxing because he was sick of the politics that blocked his breakthrough from amateur to professional.
    A TOUGH START
Born in Karaganda in 1982 to a Russian coal miner father also called Gennady and a Korean mother named Elizabeth, who worked as an assistant in a chemical factory, Gennady had to survive in a state that was newly franchised from the Soviet Union.
One of four boys (he has a twin, Maxim), living in Kazakhstan was survival of the fittest back then and his brothers Sergey and Vadim knew Gennady needed toughening up.
When he was in nursery, they would hand-pick fights for their younger bro against older men.

“My brothers, they were doing that from when I was in kindergarten. Every day, different guys,” he told the Daily Telegraph.
A career beckoned in the mines, just like his dad, but his brothers had other ideas.
Seeing that Gennady was skilled at sport, he loved playing football as a kid, they sent him straight to the boxing gym.
“‘Just try boxing,’ they told me,” he wrote in The Players’ Tribune.
“‘You need different activities.’ I wasn’t going to say no to them. I just nodded.
“And when we went, I didn’t like it. I didn’t like boxing. Who wants to get hit in the face?
“It’s a dangerous sport and I liked playing on my soccer teams. But, it came easy to me. I got it. I understood it. And I was very, very good. Right away. I remember just knowing as soon as I was in the ring, what I needed to do.
“I remember sparring for the first time. There were a lot of tough people there, but I wasn’t scared. I was tough, too. So, I stayed in the boxing club.”
    TRAGEDY STRUCK
In 1990 the government informed the Golovkin family that Vadim was killed in action with the Russian military.
No explanation was offered as to how it happened, and his coffin was buried without a body.

The deaths of brothers Sergey and Vadim spurred Golovkin on to succeed
Then, four years later the same fate awaited Sergey, who also died in mysterious circumstances.
“Sergey and Vadim, of course, they were like my heroes. You know, like any older brother is,” Gennady revealed.
“We would watch Mike Tyson fights, Muhammad Ali, Sugar Ray Leonard. Amateur boxers from Russia.”
    HARDLY AMATEUR
With 40 wins from his first 42 fights, one loss and a draw, Golovkin boasts an impressive professional boxing record.
But as an amateur, his numbers were off the charts. The fear of being forced to work down the pit saw him win an astonishing 345 fights and lose just 5.
It is said he has the hardest chin in the boxing game – having reportedly never been floored during his career.
At the 2004 Olympics he won silver, losing to the Russian Gaydarbek Gaydarbekov on points.
“When I got back to Kazakhstan, people recognised me. Before, I would get called a “genie,” or “magic man,” or people would say that that I was lucky in my fights even when I beat everybody in Russia or in Asia.
“It was always that I was a small, skinny guy who was “lucky.”  But, after Athens, I came back and people said, “O.K., you really are special.”
Golovkin had an astonishing 350 amateur fights before he turned proCredit: Getty Images – Getty

    BUT HE NEARLY QUIT
By the age of 22, Golovkin had become disenchanted with boxing, annoyed by the red tape that prevented him from turning pro.
“There was only amateur fighting for me there, and I wanted to go pro. But I couldn’t get a professional contract in my country,” he said.
“I beat other guys from other countries who were professional. I beat everyone. But I couldn’t get a contract. I couldn’t turn pro. I couldn’t. Not in Kazakhstan.
“So at 22, I decided I would quit boxing. I was tired of the politics. I had been boxing for so long.”
However, he was lured back in by K2 Promotions (The Klitschko brothers’ professional boxing promotional company) almost a year later and went into training in Big Bear with Abel Sanchez, the veteran trainer behind Hall of Famer Terry Norris.
“Abel didn’t know much Russian. And I didn’t know much English,” Golovkin revealed.
“But we both spoke boxing. And with Abel, right away, it was like with Sergey and Vadim: Whatever he told me to do, I wouldn’t say no. I look up to him.”
Aged just 22, Golovkin nearly turned his back on a future £25m fortune by quitting boxing

    CANELO
Probably best known to a British audience because of his destruction of Kell Brook, in the US it’s Golovkin’s battles with Canelo Alvarez that are better remembered.
They first fought at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas in front of a sold-out crowd of 22,350 in 2016.
After 12 rounds, judges scored the fight a split draw – even though pundits believed the victory should’ve gone to the Kazakh.
In 2018, the pair returned to the ring in what was another closely fought contest.
Alvarez was deemed the victor, with judges Dave Moretti and Steve Weisfeld both scoring the bout 115–113, while the third judge Glenn Fieldman scored it 114–114.

Incredibly, of the 18 media outlets that were covering the event ten favoured Golovkin, seven saw it as a draw and one thought Alvarez was the winner.
“I showed my victory with facts,” he said in the post-fight interview.
“He was the one who was backing up. I feel satisfied because I gave a great fight. It was a clear victory.”

Harry Maguire could have been an accountant but Man Utd star has still made his fortune with his ‘massive head’

MANCHESTER UNITED star Harry Maguire may have had a difficult campaign, but at least he’s got the support of his new boss. The Red Devils captain, 29, has struggled for form – like may of his team mates to be fair – in what was a dismal campaign for the 20-time league champions.

But Maguire, nicknamed slab-head, could have been an accountant, his former teacher revealedCredit: PA:Press Association
But despite some inconsistent performances, incoming Dutch boss Erik ten Hag has backed the England star to come good.
“Next season is a different season,” ten Hag revealed in a press conference.
“He’s done a great job, and he’s a great player.
“He’s achieved a lot with his contribution to Manchester United so I’m looking forward to working with him.”
Maguire has enjoyed a remarkable rise. The burly 6ft 4in defender was a revelation at Leicester City and one of the first names on the team sheet for England, but when he was a kid he was a numbers whizz.
Maguire attended St Mary’s Catholic High School in Chesterfield, where he excelled with his studies.
“He was a remarkable pupil who always came in and worked very hard,” Sue Cain, deputy headteacher at the school told the Derbyshire Times.
“He was never in any trouble and he had such a good attitude. He did everything you asked him to do and he never questioned why. He was a popular lad.”
The brainy centre half ended up scoring high grades in his exams, including in maths which is where Cain believed he had a future.
“He got A* and A grades in his GCSEs,” she revealed.
“I think he would have gone on to study business or maths and probably have been an accountant.”
In the end, the Sheffield-born star chose football, even though he showed promise at cross-country running, rugby and table tennis as a pupil.

His former PE teacher, Martin McKee said he was destined to become a footballer.
“He could really dominate a game from central midfield,” he divulged.
“He had an aura about him. He could dribble around everyone if he wanted to.”
    FAMILY AFFAIR
Level-headed Maguire might’ve left the school over 10 years ago, but he’s still very much part of their fabric.
He returns regularly, giving talks to the boys about his experiences and presented his former teachers with a signed shirt.
It’s the same school his brother Laurence, who plays for Chesterfield, attended. Their sister, Daisy was also taught at St Mary’s.
Football in the Maguire clan is a family trait. Another brother Joe, 26, currently plays for Tranmere Rovers.
But it’s Harry who’s earned all the plaudits and he’s had to work hard to get where he is today.
As a youngster he looked up to the likes of John Terry and Rio Ferdinand, knowing that he had to work hard on his distribution to be taken seriously in the modern game.

    HE ACHIEVED HIS DREAM
He fulfilled a childhood dream by playing for Sheffield United, where he came through their youth system.
In his first full season, he helped the Blades into the playoffs as they attempted to gain promotion from League One.
A heartbreaking penalty shootout loss in the final to Huddersfield Town in 2012 dampened his spirits slightly.
However, Maguire’s contribution was well-received, and he was named both their Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year during a remarkable nine month spell.

For the next two years, he was crowned Player of the Year as his star continued to grow.
    PREMIER LEAGUE REGULAR
In 2014, Steve Bruce, a commanding centre half in his day, decided to splash £2.5m on the promising talent.
That’s where Maguire continued a trend of rising to a tougher challenge.
In 2016, he made his Premier League debut with Hull City – becoming a regular when Marco Silva took charge.

It was a tumultuous season for The Tigers, who in the end were relegated, but for Maguire, personally, it was another landmark.
Showing his leadership qualities, he captained the East Yorkshire side to victory against Middlesbrough in April 2017 in a 4-2 win.
He also scored his first Premier League goal – a bullet header – that’s become something of a trademark.
In 2017, Leicester City secured Maguire’s services for £17m, which had some experts in the game questioning his transfer fee.
But Maguire instantly became a hero on the pitch with the Foxes. His heart and desire earning him the Players’ Player of the Season, as well as Fans’ Player of the Year in his first season.

His commitment to the cause – Maguire played every minute of the 2017-18 campaign – was adored by his supporters.
    HE’S NOT VERY SHOWBIZ
Off the pitch, Maguire lives his personal life privately.
He does have a glamorous Wag in tow, the beautiful Fern Hawkins – a physiotherapy graduate – who rose to fame after she was seen cheering him on in Russia from the stands.
The pair regularly pose for loved-up selfies on social media, but Maguire is normally one to shun the limelight and glitzy life.
In 2019, they became parents for the first time – and Maguire shared a snap of his daughter Lillie Saint on Instagram.
A year later they added Piper Rose to their family.

In early May, Maguire and Hawkins finally said their ‘I do’s’ at a low-key Crewe Registry Office ceremony, but plan on having a more romantic ceremony in a chateau in France this summer.
But don’t be fooled into thinking he’s all glitz and glamour. After all, we’re talking about a man who once reported for England duty with two carrier bags full of his stuff that trended on Twitter. That picture got him a rollicking from his mum.
“I’ve seen the picture on Twitter with the bags. It was just full of boots and shin pads and dirty stuff which I’ll give the kit man,” he said at the time.

West Ham’s retiring captain Mark Noble confesses he sweeps dressing room until it is ‘spotless’ after every away game

WEST HAM captain Mark Noble has revealed he sweeps the dressing room until it is ‘spotless’ after every away game to show respect to the staff. Noble, who has been described as a ‘second dad’ by team-mate Declan Rice, is a key figure at the East London club.

And being the captain of a side which has seen 12 academy players make their debut since David Moyes’ return in 2019, Noble likes to set an example for West Ham’s up and coming stars.
Noble – who made his West Ham debut in 2004 – revealed on Rio Ferdinand’s Vibe With FIVE that he sweeps and cleans the dressing room until it’s ‘spotless’ out of respect for the staff who would have to usually go in and pick up after them.
The Hammers hero said: “A lot of the foreign boys don’t get it. But every away game we go to now, or every away game we play, win, lose or draw, I sweep the changing room after the game so it’s spotless.
“And some of the boys are like ‘Mark, what are you doing?’
“I do it because Ri [Ferdinand], I think for me, if you go away to United right and they score in the last minute of the game, like they did last week [against West Ham].
“The staff that you know better than anyone, like at West Ham, it’s the staff that have worked there for 30-40 years, that go in our dressing room after and all the milkshakes are tidied up, the bottles are cleared, the grass is all swept, everything’s gone… It’s spotless.

“They go ‘cor what a club West Ham is. They lost the game in the last minute, heartbroken, but still had enough respect to sweep the changing room after and leave it spotless.’
“But now when some of the young boys travel with us, they see me do it.
“So sometimes if I’ve done the press or I’m running outside, as I walk in the young boys have a broom sweeping the dressing room.
“That’s not because I’ve told them too, that’s because if they see me doing it, then why shouldn’t they do it.”
Noble’s playing career at West Ham is due to come to an emotional end at the end of the season.
But the midfielder hopes it isn’t the end of the road for him at his boyhood club entirely.
Noble hopes to move into a role behind the scenes.
He said last year: “The manager knows this club for me is where it all began and probably where it will finish.
“He’s got me in the changing room so if he needs me he knows I’m here but I’m going to enjoy my last little bit of time as a West Ham player.
“Hopefully in the future I see myself being in the background at West Ham, making decisions and helping the manager and having a role that sort of way.” More

Leeds 2004 relegated team and where they are now, including Mark Viduka owning Zagreb coffee shop and Alan Smith

LEEDS UNITED are staring relegation in the face. The Whites travel to Brentford knowing they have to better Burnley’s result at home to Newcastle on Sunday.

Both sides are stuck on 35 points going into the final weekend, and face going down just two years after their promotion.
The last time they were relegated in 2004, having established themselves as regulars in European competition, Leeds’ financial mismanagement was their downfall.
Stars such as Rio Ferdinand, Robbie Keane, Jonathan Woodgate and Olivier Dacourt had been sold off with a raft of loan signings depended upon in their fight for survival.
It all proved too much and Bolton smashed Eddie Gray’s men 4-1 at the Reebok on May 2, 2004, to effectively condemn Leeds to the Championship.
While there were still a number of familiar faces still at Elland Road from the earlier glory days, the team was a shadow of its former self.
Here, SunSport details the XI that day and where they are now.
    GK: Paul Robinson
If Leeds fans wonder what might have been with their relegated side of 2003/04, one player who could have led a revival was Paul Robinson.
The academy product was promptly sold to Tottenham after the drop and became an England international, with 41 caps, and a Premier League mainstay for the following decade.
These days, the 42-year-old is a club ambassador for Spurs and occasional TV pundit.

    RB: Gary Kelly
As a true one-club man, Gary Kelly stuck with Leeds upon their arrival in the second-tier before retiring in 2007.
Seven years later, he made a pitch to become the Whites’ boss after Brian McDermott’s sacking – claiming he had “all the credentials” to succeed.
But the main focus of his efforts has been the Gary Kelly Cancer Support Centre, in Drogheda, Ireland, that has run since 2004 and was partly funded by the defender’s testimonial.
    CB: Michael Duberry
Former Chelsea centre-back Michael Duberry was rarely a first-choice defender at Leeds but made most of his appearances in this relegation season.
Quickly shipped off to Stoke during the following campaign, he returned to the top-tier with Reading in 2006 and retired at the ripe age of 37.
‘Dubes’ now operates as a keynote speaker and runs an executive leadership training company, that aims “to develop excellence in leadership and management practices”.

    CB: Steven Caldwell
After starting centre-back Zoumana Camara blasted the club for their financial mess, Newcastle loanee Steven Caldwell was handed a run in Gray’s side.
In a short spell in Yorkshire, the Scot made 13 appearances before heading off to play for the likes of Sunderland, Burnley and Toronto.
Having retired in Canada, Caldwell fancied staying put and was recently assistant coach for the national team until 2021.
    LB: Ian Harte
A spell in Spain with Levante, before surprise switches to Sunderland and Blackpool, led to Irish set-piece wizard Ian Harte’s career being deemed over by many.
But a renaissance with Carlisle, Reading and Bournemouth reminded fans that he possessed one of the most lethal left foots English football has seen in recent history.
Now part of a talent agency with clients including Harry Winks and Frank Lampard, Harte is 44.

    RM: Jermaine Pennant
Few men have had anything like the career Jermaine Pennant has had since leaving Leeds.
Appearances for Stoke, Real Zaragoza, Pune City, Tampines Rovers and Billericay came after a Champions League win with Liverpool.
Pennant has also showed up on Celebrity Big Brother, Celebs Go Dating, and made headlines for his relationship with a glamour model… before recently considering a playing return with seventh-tier Redditch United.
    CM: Dominic Matteo
Club captain Dominic Matteo was moved into midfield for Leeds’ relegation campaign and left for Blackburn the following summer.
His autobiography revealed huge gambling debts and he was declared bankrupt in 2015.
While doing TV pundit work, Matteo was diagnosed with a brain tumour in November of last year but he is now on the mend, at the age of 48.

    CM: Stephen McPhail
As one of the many talented youngsters plucked from Irish football, Stephen McPhail was a real bright spot of their success in the early 2000s.
He went on to find a home in Cardiff but missed many months of action after being diagnosed with lymphoma in 2009, before retiring with Shamrock Rovers.
In 2016, he was appointed sporting director of the League of Ireland side.
    LM: James Milner
Another member of the ‘what might have been’ selection from this line-up, Wortley-born Milner went on to become a heck of a player.
Leeds were forced to sell the midfielder the following July, at the age of just 18, to Newcastle.
But it was at Aston Villa where he truly progressed into a star player and he has won three Premier League titles with Manchester City and Liverpool. He may still add to that haul this season…

    ST: Mark Viduka
Mark Viduka scored the opener on that fateful May afternoon before getting sent off and sparking Leeds’ collapse.
It would be his last appearance for the club, before a move to Middlesbrough.
The Aussie target man has spent his retirement back in Zagreb, where he played in the late 1990s, and owns a coffee shop – telling ESPN: “It’s great to do something different.”

    ST: Alan Smith
Another budding teenager of the 2003/04 Leeds side was Alan Smith, who certainly landed on his feet post-relegation.
The famous sight of the striker’s tears at the Reebok were of a Yorkshire-born lad seemingly desperate to become a one-club man.
Instead, he controversially signed for Manchester United but injury hit as he collected a single Premier League title. After retiring in 2018, he upped sticks and moved to Florida.
