Man Utd transfer target Raphael Varane ‘wants Premier League move this summer’ with Real Madrid contract up next season

RAPHAEL VARANE is reportedly considering his Real Madrid future amid rumours of a move to Manchester United.
The Red Devils are keen to strengthen their defence this summer by landing a big name to partner Harry Maguire.

Kalidou Koulibaly and Jules Kounde are just two of several names linked to the club but Varane is thought to be the number one target.
And reports out of Spain suggest the Frenchman is keen on a summer transfer.
Madrid-based daily AS detail Varane increasingly preferring a move to try his hand in a new league.
At 27, the centre-back has played almost a decade of his career in LaLiga and is coming to a crossroads in his career.

His contract expires in 2022 and Madrid will do everything in their power to prevent him leaving on a free transfer.
Therefore, if he confirms to Los Blancos that he does not want to sign a new deal, they will be open to offers at the end of the season.

Real reportedly want Varane to stay but he is said to be well aware that agreeing a new deal in Spain will severely reduce his chances of winning honours in multiple countries.

The World Cup winner boasts an enviable trophy cabinet including four Champions League crowns and three LaLiga titles.
Should he depart, Madrid are thought to be eyeing David Alaba, Pau Torres and Sevilla’s Kounde as a replacement.
Although the club are already making plans in case club captain Sergio Ramos departs when his deal expires in the summer.
United could rival Real for Torres and Kounde, having been linked with both.
However, the chances of multiple big-money acquisitions arriving into Manchester have been quelled by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

All clubs in the world are going through the same situation so it’s no different for other clubs than for us.
    Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

The United boss said earlier this month that the coronavirus pandemic will continue to impact his team’s dealings this summer.
Solskjaer said: “There’s going to be less transfers happening in the world of football with all these changes.
“The pandemic is definitely affecting everyone in football, the lack of finances, it’s affected everyone.
“All clubs in the world are going through the same situation so it’s no different for other clubs than for us.”

How Real Madrid could line up with Kylian Mbappe and Eden Hazard up front with Koulibaly coming in to replace Ramos

REAL MADRID could be about to spend big this summer after a belt-tightening year out of the transfer market.
The coronavirus pandemic and an expensive stadium rebuild has seen the team famous for its Galacticos splurges remain quiet in recent windows.

How Real Madrid could line up after a plethora of new signings

However there is a sense of the crouching tiger, hidden dragon about Los Blancos.
With every LaLiga club bar Madrid and minnows Huesca told to cut their wage bill, now could be the time to release their savings.
First on Zinedine Zidane’s list may be Kylian Mbappe, the Paris Saint-Germain star linked with Real ever since he emerged as a world-class talent.
The latest reports out of Spain highlight the club’s desire to sign the French striker or fellow pedigree talent Erling Haaland.

Mbappe’s PSG contract expires in 2022, making the next few months key in deciding his long-term future.
French newspaper Le Parisien recently told of the £175million fee required to sign the 22-year-old.

Erling Haaland could be turned to if Mbappe does not sign
However the Ligue 1 champions will fight tooth and nail to keep the star and a bumper new contract could be enough to tempt him into staying.

Zidane could easily formulate a three-man attack out of Eden Hazard, Mbappe and Karim Benzema, or accompany the trio with an extra wide man such as Marco Asensio.
Belgian winger Hazard is yet to showcase his talent at the Bernabeu but will continue to be given chances following Real’s £143m investment.
A defensive revamp could also take place in the summer.
Sergio Ramos is yet to agree a new contract to keep him in the Spanish capital.
And Raphael Varane continues to be a top target for Manchester United, with Madrid reportedly considering a sale instead of renewing his deal.

Allowing both men to leave could fund the signings of Kalidou Koulibaly, Ibrahima Konate and David Alaba, the latter on a free transfer that could feature a £400,000 weekly wage.
Napoli star Koulibaly is a reported target for several teams, including Bayern Munich who have snapped up the in-demand Dayot Upamecano.
That deal has led to Real, as well as Chelsea and Manchester United, looking to the centre-back’s RB Leipzig team-mate Konate.
One other potential investment being considered by Los Blancos is Manuel Locatelli, following his star performances for Sassuolo this term.

Tottenham and Everton transfer target Lucas Vazquez ‘issues Real Madrid contract ultimatum as deal runs down’

REAL MADRD have been issued with a contract ultimatum by star winger Lucas Vazquez, according to reports.
Vazquez’s deal at the Santiago Bernabeu runs out at the end of the season and talks over a contract extension have hit a snag.

Real Madrid ace Lucas Vazquez has issued a contract ultimatum

According to ABC, the Spain international is asking for a four-year extension with a 15 per cent increase in his wages and wants it all to be sorted within this month.
The 29-year-old, who has been linked with a move to Tottenham and Everton in the summer, turns 30 in July and wants to seal the last major contract of his career.
If Real meet his demands then Vazquez’s annual salary would rise north of €5million-a-year (£4m).
But Los Blancos are only willing to offer a three-year extension and have to impose a 10 per cent reduction on all players’ contracts due to the financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

Club sources claim that Real can’t meet his demands when players like Luka Modric, Casemiro, Luka Jovic and Arsenal loanee Martin Odegaard have agreed to the same cuts ahead of next season.
That may prove a boost for Tottenham and Everton’s hopes of securing a deal of their own.
The versatile Spaniard, who can also play as a midfielder and right-back, will become a free agent if he doesn’t put pen to paper on a new contract by the end of the season.

Spurs boss Jose Mourinho and Toffees manager Carlo Ancelotti were in charge of Real while Vazquez was cutting his teeth in the academy.
That could work as an incentive for the Real ace, who seems determined to continue playing at the top level.
Real manager Zinedine Zidane wants Vazquez to stay as he’s held a regular spot in his starting line-up this season, amassing 27 appearances across all competitions in the process.

Barcelona ordered to make huge salary cuts with wages capped at £300m while Real Madrid can INCREASE theirs to £409m

BARCELONA and Atletico Madrid have been ordered to make massive salary cuts as the cost of Covid continues to hit LaLiga.
But Real Madrid are able to increase their budget and now have a significant advantage over their two main rivals.

Under the new regulations Barca’s outgoings on wages, previously capped at £331m, will now be further limited to £300m.
Atletico, currently five clear at the top of La Liga with a game in hand over both of their main rivals, face a budget cut from £218m to £188m.
But Real have seen their cap rise from £405m to £409m, giving them 36 per cent more to spend than Barcelona.
The calculations come after clubs had budgeted for the return of fans in the second half of the season, which has not happened.

Real are spending this season playing their home games at their training ground while the Bernabeu is undergoing reconstruction and renovations.
La Liga chief Javier Tebas revealed that £96m had been taken off the overall club budgets as a result of the pandemic, with only Real and Huesca seeing their caps raised.
Tebas said: “Covid-19 put Spanish football to a test.
“We have seen that there is an end and we can get to the conclusion of this.

“So far we have had to deal with income down by £1.73bn but the clubs, especially the big ones, have been able to endure the crisis knowing how to reduce expenses.
    “Spanish football is solvent.”
Tebas, who had yet another blast at Manchester City – suggesting the Court of Arbitration for Sport needed to be investigated after lifting the club’s Euro ban – also suggested the caps, to come into immediate effect, could be raised for next term.
He added: “We can face next season with some optimism.
“In other countries, like France, there are problems with the payment of salaries while some clubs in the Premier League have asked for aid from the government.

“We have not had to do that and there will be no problems in the clubs.
“Next season, with fans back, the income will come and so the salary cap for next season, possibly, will be higher.”
Tebas, reopening old wounds, again accused both City and PSG of “evading” Uefa’s Financial Fair Play rules, despite the Prem club winning its long legal battle.
He said: “City received a significant ban and CAS lifted it.
“Uefa made an effort, it went to CAS and then nothing happened. So CAS needs to be reviewed and investigated to see what they’re actually doing.”

Real Madrid want Mo Salah but cannot afford transfer for Liverpool superstar, confirms club’s ex-president

MOHAMED SALAH is too expensive for Real Madrid, former Blancos president Roman Calderon has asserted.
The Spanish side are one of a few linked to the Liverpool winger in recent weeks amid the Anfield club’s ailing title defence.

But a worthy bid will not arrive from the Bernabeu, according to 69-year-old Calderon.
He told Egypt’s ONTime Sports: “[Salah] is a great player and a goalscorer.
“He helped Liverpool by giving his best, but I don’t think they will let him go.
“It is expected that, if they were to think about it, they would only let him go for a lot of money.

“Salah is wanted, of course, by Real Madrid.
“But Liverpool would ask for a lot of money and, if that deal were to be completed, it would be crucial.

Liverpool boast the most-valuable squad in the Premier League
“Salah is a great player with fantastic potential, and any club wishes to acquire such talents, but for Real Madrid I do not think they have the financial means to sign Salah.”

Calderon led Los Blancos to two LaLiga titles in his three years in charge, striking the deal to sign Cristiano Ronaldo before resigning in January 2009.
Real Madrid did not spend a penny in either of the last two transfer windows amid the coronavirus pandemic’s financial crash.
Squad pay cuts have been negotiated and a new deal for club captain Sergio Ramos is yet to be agreed, much to fans’ dismay.
In any case, Liverpool will remain determined to hold on to 28-year-old Salah, who boasts a tally of 24 goals in 36 appearances this season.
Speaking ahead of the Reds’ win at Sheffield United, Jurgen Klopp said: “It is not often that I have to praise my own players, which of course I always like to do.

Mo is a very, very important player for us. And hopefully he will be that for a very long time, of course.
    Jurgen Klopp

“But in Mo’s case the numbers just speak for themselves.
“Mo is not only a goalscorer. He has developed football-wise as well – and is a very, very important player for us.
“And hopefully he will be that for a very long time, of course.”

Everton eye Lucas Vazquez on free transfer as Real Madrid star ‘rejects new contract offer’ to stay at Bernabeu

EVERTON are reportedly interested in Real Madrid winger Lucas Vazquez ahead of the winger’s contract expiring.
The LaLiga giants are set to undergo a huge squad overhaul in the summer but are said to have offered the 29-year-old a new deal.

According to Marca, talks are deadlocked with Madrid not wanting to increase the terms on the table due to the pandemic financial crisis.
That could open the door to Vazquez leaving despite being one of Zinedine Zidane’s most trusted players for years.
The Spaniard returned from a muscle injury to bag an assist in last week’s 2-0 win over Valencia.
Reports in Spain name the Merseyside club as one of the sides monitoring his situation.

Valencia are joined by Sevilla, Napoli and Everton in tracking Vazquez, as claimed by Todo Fichajes.
Last year, Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham were all linked with a bid.

The Toffees negotiated a deal with Real last summer for the transfer of James Rodriguez, which came without a fee.

Real outcast Isco has also been touted for a move to Carlo Ancelotti’s side.
Everton have put together a strong push for European football this season, ahead of Saturday’s Merseyside derby.
Ancelotti may seek a new option down the right flank with Alex Iwobi and Rodriguez used in that role this season, with Vazquez also able to fill in at right-back.

Eduardo Camavinga’s agent says Man Utd and Real Madrid transfer target will cost more than £43m

EDUARDO CAMAVINGA’S agent reckons the midfield prodigy will cost more than £43million.
The Frenchman has emerged as one of the hottest properties in Europe since his debut for Rennes in 2018 aged just 16.

His contract runs out in the summer of 2022 and only ‘four or five clubs’ could convince him to leave Julien Stephan’s side.
But his agent Jonathan Barnett warned it would come at a price.
Asked by Goal if he vaulues the 18-year-old at more than €50m (£43m), Barnett said: “I would think so.”
Camavinga has made 26 appearances this season with just the one goal but made his debut for France last year.

Real Madrid and Barcelona have both been linked with the starlet.
And a move to one of Spanish giants appears to be the preferred destinations if Camavinga was to be prized away from Rennes.
Barrett said: “At the moment, he’s a Rennes player.
“He likes Rennes and, at the moment, we haven’t really taken to other clubs. It isn’t our position.

“Let’s see what happens later on, but he’s doing well in Rennes and that’s fine.
“Being the best midfielder in the world, that’s how I see his future, [with] a lot of medals and a lot of trophies.
“[Madrid are] a great club, a great club to play for. Eduardo will have a choice of a lot of clubs if Rennes decides to release him.

Sergio Ramos ‘fuming with Real Madrid over plans to buy £130m Mbappe after telling him they can’t afford his wages’

SERGIO RAMOS was reportedly furious with the suggestion that Real Madrid would bid £130million for Kylian Mbappe.
A deal to sign the Paris Saint-Germain forward continues to dominate gossip columns with the Ligue 1 club yet to agree a new contract with their star youngster.

On top of the mega £130m transfer fee, the deal would see Mbappe offered a £335,000-a-week contract.
According to French newspaper L’Equipe, Ramos’ camp has reacted badly to the apparent plans.
The club captain is still yet to agree new contract of his own with Los Blancos, ahead of it expiring in the summer.
The situation has led to huge criticism from Real fans, including from Ramos’ brother and agent, for not securing the future of such a key player who can now pre-agree a free summer transfer elsewhere.

Reports suggest Ramos’ chunky wage package is one factor in the delayed agreement.
The injured defender, 34, earns north of £300,000-a-week but Madrid are struggling financially amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The club made no signings in either of the last two transfer windows and were reportedly forced to seek a second squad pay cut in December.
With revenue slashed by the pandemic, Real have also advanced work on their Estadio Bernabeu home, which is set to cost a total £500million.

Despite this, a return to the transfer market is predicted in the summer with free agent defender David Alaba one major target.
Mbappe has long been touted for a move to Madrid, with Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland another linked.

In fact, the Frenchman heading to Spain could see Ramos move in the opposite direction and sign for Paris Saint-Germain.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side are one of many clubs said to fancy a move for the veteran centre-back.
It has been reported that Les Parisiens’ have agreed not to advance their interest in Ramos until a final decision has been reached in his contract talks with Real.
