Barcelona should sign Real Madrid legend Sergio Ramos, claims Samuel Eto’o who played for BOTH fierce rivals

BARCELONA legend Samuel Eto’o thinks the Catalans should sign Sergio Ramos this summer. The Real Madrid legend was released this month after his contract expired and is being linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United.
Samuel Eto’o says he would sign Real Madrid legend Sergio Ramos if he was in charge at former club Barcelona
But Eto’o, 40, who played for both Spanish giants, is keen for Ramos to do likewise.
As a PSG fan the Cameroonian would also like Ramos to move to Paris, as he believes the Spaniard could help the club to an elusive first Champions League title.
But he also suggested that Barcelona ought to make a move for the 35-year-old.
He told AS: “Hopefully Sergio goes to PSG. If I could sign him for Barca, I would.
“If he goes to PSG, I will be happy and I know that he will help us win the Champions League, which is proving very difficult for us.”
Eto’o may not get his Barcelona wish however, as Ramos has reportedly ruled out a move to the Nou Camp or to his former club Sevilla.
Ramos struggled with fitness last season and made just 15 league appearances for Real.
And his lack of game time meant Luis Enrique left him out of the Spain squad for Euro 2020.

But Ramos does have plenty of options available this summer.
Chelsea have become the latest side linked to the veteran defender while Jose Mourinho is keen to take him to Roma.
But both clubs could be left disappointed as Ramos has reportedly told his Madrid pals that he is destined for PSG.

Timo Werner’s agent insists German will STAY at Chelsea despite shock Real Madrid transfer links

TIMO WERNER’S agent insisted the German striker will stay at Chelsea, despite shock transfer links to Real Madrid. Werner arrived at Stamford Bridge from RB Leipzig last summer for around £47.5million, but struggled in his first season.

He did manage 12 goals and 15 assists in 52 games but at times lacked confidence and missed big chances.
Still, manager Thomas Tuchel kept faith in the forward and even started him in the Champions League final against Manchester City.
And despite the Blues winning their second European cup, Werner’s future remained up in the air.
Carlo Ancelotti, who has returned to Madrid from Everton, was a rumoured admirer of the pacey attacker.
But his agent all-but ruled out a departure after one year with Chelsea, as he insisted the player is happy in West London.
Karlheinz Forsterbe told Sport1: “You can’t rule out anything, but if I had to assess it at the moment, then I would say very clearly that Timo will stay at Chelsea.
“He feels comfortable there. A move will not be an issue in the foreseeable future.”
Werner, 25, was helped settle in at Chelsea alongside fellow summer signing Kai Havertz, 22, by Germany team-mate Toni Rudiger, 28.

Before the trio got their hands on the Champions League trophy in May, Werner confirmed he had no desire to leave Stamford Bride.
He said: “In terms of scoring and missing chances, it was the worst season. But in the end I still have 27 goal contributions.
“I think I’m the first in our team for that, so it was not everything bad and I don’t think about leaving the club this year, for sure not.
“And also for the next year because I think we have a very good team and I hope to come back to scoring and that I can do everything that’s expected of me.”

Raphael Varane ‘wants Man Utd transfer’ in huge boost to Solskjaer… but huge wage demands would make him top earner

REAL MADRID defender Raphael Varane wants to complete the move to Manchester United this summer, according to reports. The 28-year-old French international joined the Spanish giants from Lens way back in 2011 for the price of £8.5million.

He has played 360 times for Real Madrid, winning three LaLiga titles and four Champions Leagues.
But according to The Independent, Varane now wants away from the Spanish capital as Real prepare to go through a period of transition.
However, the major hurdle facing Man Utd is the centre-back’s huge wage demands.
He is reportedly holding out for an astronomical figure of £400,000 per week.
That would make him the highest paid player at Old Trafford, eclipsing keeper David de Gea.
De Gea, 30, is currently on a £375,000 a week contract at United, a salary which works out as £19.5m per year.
Meanwhile, Varane could become the joint-highest earner at United if midfielder Paul Pogba agrees to the terms being offered to him by the club.
The France star, 28, is going into the final 12 months of his contract and United are also willing to offer him a staggering £400,000 a week over the next five years.

Real Madrid’s ‘plan to seal Kylian Mbappe transfer revealed with move for PSG star or Haaland set for after Euro 2020’

Real are just one of the European giants ready to battle for Borussia Dortmund superstar Haaland.
But Marca write how club chiefs have always prioritised a move for Mbappe and hope to conclude a deal before the start of the season.
Mbappe is heading into the final year of his contract at the French giants and has no plans to extend his stay beyond 2022.
Real Madrid are growing increasingly confident PSG will be forced to sell this summer or risk losing him for nothing.
Los Blancos are struggling financially due to the pandemic but know they can raise cash in player sales in preparation to sign Mbappe.
Luka Jovic, Dani Ceballos and Brahim Diaz are believed to be up for grabs to make way for the rapid forward.
Real Madrid made their interest in Mbappe well known in 2017 when he left Monaco but the club already boasted Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema in attack.
The situation is now different at the Bernabeu with Mbappe told he will become the club’s main man.
Marca appear confident Real Madrid can get the deal over the line

The player has made it no secret of his desire to play in the famous white colours in the past, calling it a ‘dream.’
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez was recently quizzed on Mbappe’s future and hinted he is eager to bring him to Spain.
He responded to AS: “I am not talking about players who are not in Madrid.

“I know what the partners want. They want the best to be there.
“The teams have to be renewed and we are in that renewal stage. I don’t want to talk about players who are not in Madrid because it is a lack of respect.
“People trust me. The best will come. Mbappé is one of the best, but he is not in Madrid.”

Chelsea look to hijack Sergio Ramos transfer but star wants to play alongside Neymar and Cristiano Ronaldo at PSG

CHELSEA have joined the transfer race to land Real Madrid legend Sergio Ramos, according to reports. The Spaniard dropped a huge bombshell last week after announcing he was leaving Los Blancos after 16 years.
Chelsea are ready to join the transfer race for Sergio RamosCredit: AFP
His availability is set to spark a tug-of-war across Europe with Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and Manchester City all preparing to make their move.
But AS write how Thomas Tuchel’s Blues have also joined the pack.
The German boss wants a new central defender in his ranks to play alongside Antonio Rudiger and bolster the competition.
Ramos, 35, would be open to entertaining offers from the European champions although is expected to assess every possibility before making his final decision.
Chelsea may face an uphill battle to convince Ramos to join the project at Stamford Bridge over PSG.
The report adds how the French giants are leading the race because Ramos is excited at the prospect of playing alongside Neymar.
He will also reunite with pals and former Real Madrid team-mates Angel Di Maria and Keylor Navas while Cristiano Ronaldo is also heavily linked with a move.

Ramos is also tempted by the lifestyle in Paris and believes his wife and four children would feel most settled in the French capital.
Reports in Spain last week suggested Ramos has already told friends he is on his way to PSG.
Ramos won an incredible 22 honours at the Bernabeu including five LaLiga titles and four Champions League trophies.
