Casemiro was keen for a new challenge and reportedly doubled his wages to £350,000-a-week after joining United.
However, it has since been claimed the midfielder hasn’t seen that much of an increase to what he was being paid at Real.
According to The Athletic, Casemiro signed for United with a “slight raise” in wages from what he was on at the Bernabeu.
And his wage packet could even DROP back to what he was earning at in Spain if United don’t reach their objectives.

Casemiro will see his wages decrease IF United fail to qualify for the Champions League this season.
It won’t only be the players who take a hit as the club would also see their Adidas sponsorship money shrink.
The Red Devils have a ten-year agreement with mega sports brand Adidas worth £750m, which includes a number of bonuses or penalties based on performance.
And with United finishing sixth last term, should they fail to qualify for the Champions League for the second season in a row – they will see a 30 per cent reduction in sponsorship revenue.

That would mean United would receive £22.5m LESS from sponsors Adidas.
A test of United’s top-four challenging ability comes on Sunday when they take on table toppers Arsenal.

Top 10 most expensive summer transfers with Man Utd leading the way and just two non-Premier League deals

THE transfer window has closed once again and managers know exactly who they have at their disposal until it all starts over again in January. And it was a record-breaking summer with the Premier League splashing out a whopping £2BILLION on new signings.

Chelsea were the biggest spenders this summer with new owner Todd Boehly writing cheques totalling £260m to give Thomas Tuchel nine new players.
But who were the biggest signings of the summer 2022 transfer window?
    1. ANTONY – Ajax to Man Utd – £85.5m
The transfer saga that rumbled on and on and had more twists and turns than an Agatha Christie classic, Antony finally signed for United on deadline day for a staggering £85.5m.
Erik ten Hag was desperate to add the Brazilian winger to his attack and paid more than double what United had initially hoped to land him in the biggest transfer ever on deadline day, surpassing Gareth Bale’s record.

    2. WESLEY FOFANA – Leicester to Chelsea – £70m
Another deal that seemed to take an age to get over the line was Wesley Fofana’s switch to Chelsea.
The Leicester defender went on strike, refused to train and then took a cheeky swipe at Brendan Rodgers after completing his “dream” move to Stamford Bridge.
The £70m is the initial fee – as with the rest in this list – making him the third most-expensive defender ever after Harry Maguire and Virgil van Dijk but it could rise to £75m in achievable add-ons.

    3. AURELIEN TCHOUAMENI – Monaco to Real Madrid – £68m
Aurelien Tchouameni’s move from Monaco to Real Madrid seems like it was done a lifetime ago, such was the frantic nature of the closing stages of the window.
The European champions identified their target and got the France international in early to integrate him in the squad, where he is hitting the ground running alongside compatriot Eduardo Camavinga.

    4. DARWIN NUNEZ – Benfica to Liverpool – £64m
Liverpool were one of several clubs to splash the cash on a new No9 this summer and landed Darwin Nunez from Benfica despite interest from Manchester United.
He made an immediate impact with goals in the Community Shield and then at Fulham on the opening day before shockingly headbutting Joachim Andersen to earn a three-match suspension.
Jurgen Klopp will be desperate that is a one-off incident and the Uruguayan converts his hot head into a hot streak.

    5. CASEMIRO – Real Madrid to Man Utd – £60m
With a deal for Frenkie de Jong failing, Ten Hag knew he needed to bring in another midfielder and made a sudden swoop for the experienced Brazilian midfielder Casemiro.
The five-time Champions League winner could cost up to £70m and is being paid a staggering £350,000 per week for an initial four years – a huge investment for a 30-year-old who has never played in England.
Tchouameni’s arrival meant Casemiro was not even a guaranteed starter under Carlo Ancelotti anyway – and the fee essentially covered the cost of the new signing.

    6. ALEXANDER ISAK – Real Sociedad to Newcastle – £60m
Eddie Howe was determined to add a striker to his Toon squad – and he certainly did that by landing Alexander Isak from Real Sociedad.
The Sweden international smashed the club record with his £60m move and wasted no time getting to grips with the Premier League by blasting in 38 minutes into his debut at Liverpool.

    7. MATTHIJS DE LIGT – Juventus to Bayern Munich – £57m
Matthijs de Ligt was dubbed one of the next generation of elite centre-backs but it did not quite work out for him at Juventus as hoped.
Bayern Munich were not put off, though, and splashed out big money on the Dutch defender who will likely form a solid partnership with Dayot Upamecano for many years.

    8. MARC CUCURELLA – Brighton to Chelsea – £55m
Despite having £50m Ben Chilwell who plays in the same position, Chelsea decided to spend an initial £55m on Marc Cucurella from Brighton.
The Spanish left wing-back, who can also play in a back three, was also a target for Manchester City but they refused to pay what the Seagulls demanded.
Among the other new arrivals at Stamford Bridge this summer were Raheem Sterling (£47.5m), Kalidou Koulibaly (£35m) and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£12m) on deadline day.

    9. ERLING HAALAND – Borussia Dortmund to Man City – £51m
He may have cost £51m but Erling Haaland is already looking like an absolute bargain with nine goals – including two hat-tricks – in his first five Premier League games.
City, who Haaland’s dad also played for, won the race for the Norwegian’s signature ahead of some of Europe’s biggest teams after triggering his low release clause at Dortmund.

    10. RICHARLISON – Everton to Tottenham – £50m
Completing the top ten – eight of which are Premier League signings – is the £50m move Richarlison made from Goodison Park to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The deal could rise by a further £10m for the Brazil star who has more keepy-uppies than goals and assists combined so far under Antonio Conte after riling Nottingham Forest players and supporters with his cheeky showboating.

Real Madrid legend Marcelo linked with shock transfer move to Leicester has fans all saying the same thing

AMID the madness of transfer deadline day Marcelo appeared set to join Leicester City. The five-time Champions League winner was trending on Twitter and sketchy reports suggested he was on the verge of joining Brendan Rodgers’ faltering Foxes.
Foxes supporters thought they had landed Real Madrid icon MarceloCredit: EPA
Leicester teased the arrival of new signing Wout Faes on Twitter and fans thought it looked remarkably like Marcelo
The 34-year-old’s contract ran out in June and he has decided to seek a new challenge elsewhere after 15 years at Real Madrid.
Spanish journalist Marti Miras announced earlier this week that Leicester were in for a surprise move for the Brazilian.
He tweeted: “The former Real Madrid player is VERY CLOSE to signing for Leicester City.
“In the absence of passing a medical examination, he would sign until June 2023.”

However, the BBC quickly rubbished the report by claiming Rodgers’ side “distanced themselves” from the left-back.
Upset Leicester fans have at least seen the funny side by comparing him to new signing Wout Faes, who has joined from Reims on a five-year-deal.
The club teased Faes’ arrival with a silhouette that looked remarkably like Marcelo.
One Foxes fan wrote: “It’s Marcelo from Real Madrid.. check”

While another added: “Oh my, it was Marcelo all along…”

Top ten biggest deadline day transfers including Bale to Real Madrid and Arsenal’s hat-trick of last-minute deals

AS THE hours tick down to the 11pm transfer deadline, there are plenty of big deals still in the pipeline. Clubs in the Premier League and across Europe will be scrambling to finish their summer business in time.

A number of top stars may still be on the move including Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Youri Tielemans and Mykhaylo Mudryk.
But it would take some massive deals on Thursday to break into the top ten of deadline day transfers – with the top one surely set to stay for a long time…
Gareth Bale: Tottenham to Real Madrid, £85.3m (2013)
Not only is Bale’s switch to the Bernabeu the biggest transfer on deadline day ever, but it was once the world record.
The long saga eventually culminated in the Welsh wizard spending nine years with Real, winning 16 trophies including five Champions Leagues before joining Los Angeles this summer.

    Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang: Dortmund to Arsenal, £55m (2018)
Arsenal fans were understandably excited when the club dropped £55m on Aubameyang.
Things started brilliantly for the Gabon international, so much so that he was awarded a huge new contract and the armband – before being struck by the captaincy curse and was shoved out by Mikel Arteta.

Fernando Torres: Liverpool to Chelsea, £50m (2011)
This was a landmark transfer on a bonkers day in 2011 as Chelsea broke the record for the amount spent by an English club to lure Torres from Anfield.
Despite his huge success for Liverpool, El Nino simply failed to deliver for the Blues and will always be recognised as a major flop in West London.

Thomas Partey: Atletico to Arsenal, £45m (2020)
Arsenal toyed with Atletico by triggering his release clause right at the end of the window, forcing them to sell the Ghana man.
Partey took his time to adjust to English football but is now showing why the Gunners splashed the cash with his dominant performances in midfield.

Mesut Ozil: Real Madrid to Arsenal, £42.5m (2013)
See Aubameyang. Another big-name signing that enthralled supporters with his sheer mastery.
But after being handed a mega £350,000-per-week contract, it all went downhill and the club bought him out of his contract to let him leave for free.

Ronaldo: Inter to Real Madrid, £40.5m (2002)
One of the most talented footballers of all time really rubbed salt into Barcelona’s wounds by joining Real Madrid, five years after leaving the Nou Camp for Inter.
His five years produced 104 goals in 177 games but just two major honours, LaLiga in 2003 and 2007, as the Galacticos underdelivered.

Anthony Martial: Monaco to Man Utd, £36m (2015)
The Frenchman’s transfer broke the record fee paid for a teenager – with a further £22m in potential add-ons.
Martial made an immediate impact with his stunning finish against Liverpool on his debut but has struggled to kick on – but now hopes to resurrect his United career under Erik ten Hag.

Andy Carroll: Newcastle to Liverpool, £35m (2011)
Just a few hours before the Torres deal was signed, Carroll was the most expensive footballer in British transfer history after this ludicrous move from Newcastle.
Unlike Luis Suarez who also arrived at Anfield in January 2011, it proved a waste of cash as Carroll managed 11 goals in 58 games before injury-hit spells at West Ham, Newcastle, Reading and West Brom.

    Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain: Arsenal to Liverpool, £35m (2017)
Oxlade-Chamberlain was determined to be a central midfielder after Arsene Wenger insisted on using him out wide, even at wing-back.
The England international landed a major switch to Liverpool.
Despite Premier League, League Cup, FA Cup, Champions League, Super Cup and Club World Cup winner’s medals, it has still been personally disappointing for the Ox who has been ravaged by injuries.

Danny Drinkwater: Leicester to Chelsea, £35m (2017)
This one went right down to the wire but the Blues may be wishing they didn’t get it over the line after all.

A year after snapping up N’Golo Kante for £30m the previous year, Chelsea raided Leicester again by offering Drinkwater a big-money move to Stamford Bridge.
However, it did not work out at all as Drinkwater was released this summer with just 12 Premier League appearances and four loans.

Arsenal could make late Mykhaylo Mudryk transfer bid after turning down Marco Asensio from Real Madrid

ARSENAL could explore a move for Shakhtar Donetsk star Mykhaylo Mudryk after being offered Real Madrid ace Marco Asensio, reports suggest. That is according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, who reports that the Gunners could consider a bid for Mudryk ahead of Thursday’s transfer deadline day.

The winger has attracted interest from top Premier League, Bundesliga as well as Serie A clubs and the North Londoners could seize the opportunity.
Romano told wettfreunde: “One of the names I wanted to mention is Mudryk from Shakhtar.
“He’s one of the most interesting wingers in the market that many clubs are keen on signing on him, from England, the Bundesliga, from Italy too because he was one of the players followed by Juventus few months ago.
“And now could be an opportunity, so let’s see what Arsenal decide to do.”

This is after Arsenal turned down the opportunity to sign Asensio, who was offered by his agent.
The winger was also offered to Manchester United and is looking for a fresh start.
Although the Gunners are in no “direct negotiation” with Real, they could still consider a “last minute” swoop for the Spain international.
Romano added: “Marco Asensio has been offered by his agent to many important English clubs including Arsenal, Man Utd in the last two weeks.

“At the moment for Man Utd, he is not the priority. He was one of the options in case the Antony deal did not go through.
“But now it is almost completed, so it’s not the case and I don’t see them signing one more winger at this point in the market.
“For Arsenal, there is no direct negotiation with Real Madrid but the relationship with Jorge Mendes is always very good, so could be a last minute idea but at the moment it’s not a negotiation.

“For sure, Marco Asensio is looking for an opportunity and till deadline day, he will try to find a nice opportunity because he wants to play.
“He wants regular playing time. But in case he won’t be playing, he will stay at Real Madrid and then next summer, big opportunity to leave on a free.
“So, his agent is potentially working on a free transfer for next summer in case nothing happens this week.” More

Real are said to have slapped a £25million asking price on the forward – who is a long-term target of Arsenal’s.
Gunners boss Mikel Arteta is looking to add another winger to his squad following Nicolas Pepe’s season-long loan to Lille.
