Erik Ten Hag ‘pushing Man Utd to HIJACK Arsenal’s transfer for £85m Real Madrid star Aurelian Tchouameni’

MANCHESTER UNITED are reportedly trying to hijack Arsenal’s £85million move for Real Madrid’s Aurelien Tchouameni. The Gunners are closing in on the signing of Declan Rice after agreeing a £105million transfer fee with West Ham.

Mikel Arteta also had cause for celebration after completing the signing of Kai Havertz in a £65m deal from Chelsea.
Arsenal have also reportedly agreed a fee of £40m, including £4m in add-ons, for Ajax defender Jurrien Timber.
However, we reported earlier this week how Arteta had added Madrid star Tchouameni to his transfer shortlist.
The Spanish giants signed the 23-year-old French midfielder for £85m from Monaco last season, beating the likes of United and Liverpool to his signature.

But Tchouameni failed to stamp his authority on Carlo Ancelotti’s team last season and is believed to be available for the right price this summer.
Now Nacional have claimed that United have entered the chase to try and sign him again.
They state that boss Erik ten Hag “is pressing” the club to seal a deal for the ace.
However, the Dutchman is working on limited resources.

United hope to wrap-up the arrival of Mason Mount from Chelsea this week after the two clubs agreed a £60m fee.
But that move means the Dutchman will have blown over half of his limited £100m transfer budget, enforced through FFP regulations, as he still searches for a new striker and goalie.
Long-term No.1 David De Gea woke up on his wedding day yesterday UNEMPLOYED after his contract expired at Old Trafford.
He was offered the chance to stay at Old Trafford on massively reduced terms.
However, reports suggested that that £200k-a-week offer was later rescinded by the club, wanting him to instead accept an even bigger cut.
But De Gea has been sensationally asked not to join another club despite his contract being up at United.
And the Red Devils are now effectively asking the player to hang around in case they cannot find a new number one within their transfer budget.
Ten Hag has been chasing Inter Milan’s Onana and have also been keen on Porto’s Costa – but a move for either man is dependent on United being able to raise more funds by offloading some of the 13 players the boss is ready to offload.
Now a fresh link claims that they have made contact over a potential move for Feyenoord goalkeeper Justin Bijlow. More

Chelsea transfer blow as ‘Real Madrid want Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic on loan before making Kylian Mbappe move next year’

CHELSEA have suffered a transfer blow after Real Madrid reportedly registered an interest in signing Dusan Vlahovic. The Blues have admired the striker for some time and it is believed Juventus would be open to letting him go this summer.

Chelsea confirmed the arrival of striker Nicolas Jackson on Friday but Mauricio Pochettino may be keen to add more firepower to his attack.
However Chelsea could miss out on Vlahovic as Real Madrid want to sign the Serbia international, according to Calciomercato.
It is claimed the Spanish giants are considering a loan move for Vlahovic, which will include a fee in the region of £13-17million.
That would allow Real to make a move for Kylian Mbappe next summer when the superstar’s Paris Saint-Germain contract runs out.

But it is possible Chelsea could still win the race for Vlahovic and they are willing to offer Juventus a player in exchange.
Christian Pulisic, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Trevoh Chalobah, Romelu Lukaku and Kalidou Koulibaly were all believed to have been offered during talks between the two clubs.
Koulibaly and Loftus-Cheek have since departed with Pulisic also close to joining AC Milan, but the money from their sales and that of Mateo Kovacic and Kai Havertz could fund a move for Vlahovic.
Juventus value Vlahovic at £68million and club chiefs are desperate to sell him this summer.

The striker joined the club in a £62m transfer from Fiorentina in January last year, but he has struggled to find form with 23 goals in 63 games for The Old Lady.

Zidane won two LaLiga titles and three Champions League during his time in the dugout.
And the club legend maintains a good relationship with president Florentino Perez.
As a result, reports in France suggest Zidane could return to Real Madrid for another spell in the summer of 2024.
Current boss Carlo Ancelotti sees his deal expire next year and he is unlikely to renew his contract.

However, Premier League and Liverpool icon Xabi Alonso is reportedly Real Madrid’s preferred option.

Kylian Mbappe ‘sets out condition to make Real Madrid transfer NOW after leaving PSG bosses outraged’

KYLIAN MBAPPE has set out his condition to sign for Real Madrid this summer. The French forward’s transfer stance is understood to have left Paris Saint-Germain bosses outraged.

Mbappe caused a stir earlier this month by confirming he will not be extending his contract beyond next summer.
The revelation has left PSG facing the prospect of losing him for free in 2024 if they do not sell him during the current transfer window.
Real Madrid have been heavily linked with making a move for Mbappe after failing with an approach last year.
According to Marca, Mbappe has laid out his condition for making the move now.
    READ MORE IN FOOTBALL
The report claims that he will only accept a move if he does not lose out on any money.
His remaining 12 months on his PSG deal consists of £51million and a £77million loyalty bonus.
However, he would miss out on the bonus if he were to be sold this summer.
Neither Mbappe or his mum and agent Faiza Lamary are willing to lose out on that money.

Mbappe had instead planned to sign a pre-contract agreement with Real Madrid in January before joining the club when his contract expires.
That would allow him to receive both his remaining wages and bonus, as well as a signing on fee from the Spanish giants thought to be worth between £86million and 108million.
Lamary has already had assurances that Los Blancos will offer the same package as they did a year ago.

PSG’s asking price has also caused an issue with the deal, with the French champions needing to lower the fee in order to compensate Mbappe for forgoing his loyalty bonus.
However, according to Marca’s report, PSG still want £170million for the 24-year-old, who has been handed an “ultimatum” by the club.
Mbappe has been told he will be put up for sale this summer if he does not reconsider his contract stance. More

Man Utd ‘interested in transfer for Champions League finalist’ to aid defensive rebuild but face battle with Real Madrid

MANCHESTER UNITED are interested in Inter Milan full-back Federico Dimarco but face competition from Real Madrid, according to reports.Dimarco, 25, had a remarkable season for Inter and was crucial in Inter’s run to the Champions League final.

The Independent report that Ten Hag’s interest in the full-back was piqued due to his performances on their run to face Manchester City in Istanbul earlier this month.
He contributed five assists in his 11 appearances as Inter reached the final, with the Italians keeping clean sheets in eight of those games.
United are well stocked in the left-back area with Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia currently vying for the position.
However, Ten Hag has been impressed by Dimarco’s versatility and believes he would be able to play in a number of positions for the Red Devils.
    READ MORE ON MAN UTD
There is also a belief that Inter need to sell players this summer in order to comply with financial fair play – so United believe they could get him on a cut price deal.
If United are to move for Dimarco though, they will face competition from Real Madrid.
Eduardo Camavinga looked to have made the position his own during a string of impressive performances.
But the Frenchman has always been a midfielder and has made it clear to Carlo Ancelotti he intends to fight for a place alongside new signing Jude Bellingham.

Madrid are therefore considering Dimarco as a cheap alternative at left-back having spent a considerable chunk of their budget on Bellingham.
Inter will be hoping for a bidding war between the two to drive up Dimarco’s price.
United are operating carefully in the transfer market this summer with limited funds available until the status of their takeover is clear.
While left-back is not a priority for the Red Devils, they are keen to bolster their defence.
They do look set to miss out on one of their key targets however.
United had made contact with Kim Min-Jae ahead of a possible move but the Korean defender now looks to be joining Bayern Munich.
One contingency could be to move Luke Shaw into centre-back with Dimarco playing at left-back as Shaw played the position a number of times last season. More

Jude Bellingham won’t crash and burn at Real Madrid like Gareth Bale – he’s learning from Welshman’s mistakes

GARETH BALE collected five Champions League winner’s medals with Real Madrid, scoring in two finals, including an extraordinary bicycle kick against Liverpool in 2018.So you’d be hard-pressed to describe the Welshman’s nine-year stint at the Bernabeu as any sort of failure.
Jude Bellingham has got everything needed to succeed at Real Madrid, both in terms of talent and personalityCredit: Getty
Gareth Bale never appeared totally aware of what playing for Real meantCredit: Getty
Yet Bale left the  Spanish capital largely unloved. Chiefly because he made it clear Real were not his favourite team and that football wasn’t even his favourite sport.
Bale was ‘The Golfer’, who loved playing for Wales, but never Real — a remote figure who never embraced the language or culture.
A man who never seemed to fully appreciate what it was to play for the world’s most famous club and who outstayed his welcome as a bench-warming trouserer of fortunes.
As Jude Bellingham becomes the latest British footballer to roll up at the Bernabeu, it is clear the England midfielder is learning from Bale’s mistakes.

This country’s most expensive footballer is still a gangly Brummie teenager — he turns 20 next week — and so you might have imagined him to look a little awkward at last week’s media unveiling.
Especially as he was inheriting Zinedine Zidane’s famed No 5 shirt and had just  signed his six-year contract in a room with “14 European Cups staring at me”.
But while no footballer is judged primarily on his media performances, Bellingham’s appearance was a triumph.
He was humble and gracious, likeable and amusing.

He blew sunshine up a prominent Spanish-based English journalist — a genuine rather than cynical move — and had a demanding local press corps eating out of his hand.
“A Galactico for the next ten years,” was one newspaper’s prediction.
But ‘Galactico’ became a byword for an era when Real stockpiled famous, experienced players with  commercial clout, while never producing a balanced team and rarely winning anything.
Bellingham is part of an exciting Real rebuild centring on youth.
Eduardo Camavinga, 20, Aurelien Tchouameni, 23, and Bellingham will eventually replace the midfield triangle of Luka Modric, 37,  Toni Kroos, 33, and the already-departed 31-year-old Casemiro.
Kylian Mbappe, 24, may well arrive too because Real remains the des res of the world’s best young players, whatever the Premier League’s lure.
It helps that Bellingham had already illuminated a World Cup and spent three years at Borussia Dortmund, sometimes captaining a mighty club in front of the Westfalenstadion’s vast Yellow Wall.
Those kind of experiences tend to knock the shyness out of a kid.In Dortmund, he befriended old club legends, sought their advice and became part of the fabric, rather than just another foreign player passing through.
In Madrid, Bellingham has hired an FA player-liaison officer to work for him full-time as he settles in — a move which suggests he wants to impress off the pitch too.
Many are surprised Bellingham chose Real, rather than a move back to England. Yet those close to him insist this has always been his dream.
As with many of his generation, his formative experiences of watching football came during the peak years of the Messi-Ronaldo El Clasicos.

PSG’s Kylian Mbappe could well also be heading to the BernabeuCredit: AP
There would have been far more replica Real Madrid and Barcelona shirts around the playing fields of Birmingham than those of Liverpool or the Manchester clubs.
The fixtures for the next LaLiga season are released tomorrow  and Bellingham will be eagerly seeking out the dates when he will face  champions Barca and become part of that grand and bitter rivalry.
Bellingham, who left Birmingham City at 16, has never played in the Premier League and is unlikely to do so until he is in his mid-to-late 20s.
That is remarkable for the finest English footballer of his generation during an era of supreme Premier League financial dominance.
It does, though, suggest a bravery, curiosity, and independence of thought which will serve him well.
There should still be some caution. Bellingham is a high-mileage player, with a  phenomenal 200 senior appearances in club and international football as a teenager.
He has missed England’s last two matches with a long-standing knee problem and players who play too much,  too early, often fail to last the distance.
But like Bale before him, Bellingham has the talent, adaptability, attitude and  physique to become a major success in Madrid.
He might not end up with five Champions League winner’s medals, but Bellingham is very likely to discover the affection and acceptance which eluded Bale.
    Walk tall, Tyler
MARTIN TYLER may have been the voice  of English football’s bold new era of world domination, as Sky’s lead commentator since the Premier League’s inception 31 years ago.
But one of the chief reasons why he was such a success was his strong bond with the game’s roots.
Tyler delayed his move into broadcast journalism by several years be- cause he was a useful centre-forward for Corinthian Casuals.
And he continued to coach at non-league sides such as Woking, the club he has always supported, and Dartford while calling matches in the world’s richest league.
This brought him authenticity to go with his eloquence.
Tyler — who is  leaving Sky aged 77 but insisting he has not retired from commentating — will be missed.
    O’Neil sacking so gobsmacking
GARY O’NEIL and Bournemouth felt a perfect match — understated, overachieving and entertaining.
And while there have been some  savagely unexpected managerial sackings which have worked out well for clubs, O’Neil’s dismissal — after he saved the club from relegation — suggests a new American ownership with serious delusions of grandeur.
    Just win the ball Poste-haste
WHEN Spurs appointed Ange Postecoglou as their new manager, Celtic fans told us to expect a treat when watching the Aussie’s revolutionary ‘Angeball’ approach.
Turns out Postecoglou expects his players to run around a lot, win the ball back quickly and try to score a lot of goals — much like every other elite coach.
Which brings us to Kai Havertz — the Chelsea striker pursued by Arsenal.
In a footballing landscape that is obsessed with pace, here is a modern-day Dimitar Berbatov, who is all about subtlety of touch, slowing the game down, finding the time and space to do something different.
Arsenal could do with an out-and-out goalscorer, which Havertz — despite scoring the winner in the 2021 Champions League final — is not.
But his signing could prove a masterstroke from Mikel Arteta. And Arsene Wenger would definitely approve of it.
    Treble’s all-rounder
GOOD to see Jack Grealish becoming Manchester City’s answer to Freddie Flintoff by leading the drinking spree on his club’s open-top bus parade.
If a likeable, good-looking, young multi-millionaire cannot fully enjoy  winning the Treble, then what’s the point of being a likeable, good-looking, young multi-millionaire Treble winner?
Next  expect Grealish to head out into the Caribbean on a pedalo — Flintoff-style, several sheets to the wind — then become one of our top light entertainers.
    Taking a sledge-hammer to wit
WHY all the high-horsemanship from our Australian friends after England bowler Ollie Robinson shouted “f*** off you f***ing p***k” at Usman Khawaja after dismissing the opener at Edgbaston?
Last time I was in Australia, that counted  as a warm expression  of endearment.
The incident does, though, confirm the greatest myth in cricket — that sledging is often imaginative and witty.
    The slow must go on
WHILE the fast-scoring of England’s Bazball approach thrills the nation, Dom Sibley — ditched by the national team two years ago — ground his way to the slowest century in County Championship history.
It took Surrey opener Sibley almost nine hours to reach three figures.

As a display of ‘b****cks-to-the-zeitgeist’ contrariness, it  takes some beating.
But it worked. Surrey reached a target of 501 to beat Kent. More
