Real Madrid set to end Martin Odegaard’s two-year Sociedad loan transfer early as Zidane makes last-minute U-turn

REAL MADRID are reportedly set to end Martin Odegaard’s two-year loan spell with Real Sociedad early.
The Norwegian midfielder had a superb season with the San Sebastian-based outfit, helping them to a sixth-placed finish in LaLiga.

He even scored in a 4-3 victory against his employers – and this has seemingly persuaded Zinedine Zidane to bring him back to the Bernabeu.
According to Spanish newspaper AS, the player was all set to continue into a second season with Sociedad.
But at the last minute Zidane decided he wants to have Odegaard “by his side” next season and has assured him he will have a chance to fight for a first-team spot.
But Odegaard will have to recover from a knee injury picked up during the close of the season before he steps up his training.

    MADRID DREAMS
Marca reports that “the player feels experienced, excited and ready to assert himself in Real Madrid’s dressing room”.
The 21-year-old has “felt Real Madrid’s support throughout” his loan spell with Sociedad.
And while he “has nothing but words of gratitude for Real Sociedad” Odegaard was clear a return to Real Madrid was his dream.
Odegaard joined Real Madrid from Stromsgodset in 2015, spurning interest from a host of top European clubs including Liverpool, Manchester United and City and Bayern Munich.

He became the youngest debutant in the history of the club at 16 years and 157 days old when he replaced Cristiano Ronaldo in a 7-3 home win against Getafe in May 2015.
But that is his only appearance in LaLiga having played mainly for the B side. He has also featured twice in Copa Del Rey games.
Last season for Sociedad Odegaard featured 36 times in all competitions, scoring seven goals along the way.

Arsenal desperate for James Rodriguez transfer ahead of Atletico and PSG with star’s Real Madrid career finished

ARSENAL are reportedly desperate to land James Rodriguez from Real Madrid but face a fight with Atletico Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.
The Gunners are keen to snap up the Colombian ace after it emerged his Los Blancos career was over.

Spanish outlet AS reports Mikel Arteta’s side are the team most interested in rescuing Rodriguez from the Bernabeu.
European big-hitters PSG are also thought to be keen on the 29-year-old as he is offered around by agent Jorge Mendes.
And it was previously reported that Rodriguez was set for a sensational cross-city move to join Real’s rivals Atleti.
Talk of a £13.5million deal to swap Madrid sides began after it became clear he had no future under boss Zinedine Zidane.

Rodriguez returned from a two-year loan spell in the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich last summer.

But he has failed to resurrect his Galacticos career – making only eight La Liga appearances in the 2019-20 season as he struggled with form and fitness.
It now appears Real Madrid’s 2-1 win over Real Sociedad in June will be the last time fans see Rodriguez in the white shirt.

He reportedly asked Zidane not to play against Athletic Bilbao on July 5 and that was the final straw for the French manager.
Rodriguez burst on to the scene in the 2014 World Cup, bagging six goals for Colombia on his way to claiming the Golden Boot.
His displays in Brazil earned a £63m move to Madrid but he has failed to deliver on his promise in the last six years and despite having one year left on his deal, is likely to be moved on.

The former Porto man spoke about his struggles as the traditional No10 role became marginalised in the modern game.
In 2017, he told Bundesliga officials: “I think there are no more classic No10s left in the world.
“Football today is tactical and very physical, with no place for a No10.”

James Rodriguez set for sensational Atletico Madrid transfer from Real Madrid for £13.5m with no future under Zidane

JAMES RODRIGUEZ is set for a stunning transfer from Real Madrid to arch-rivals Atletico, according to reports.
The Colombian, 29, looks set to leave the Bernabeu this summer because he is not part of Zinedine Zidane’s future plans.

    1

And according to El Golazo de Gol, Atleti could land the playmaker for as little as £13.5million.
But Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo tried to pour cool water on the rumours by insisting he has “no idea” if a deal will get done.
Cerezo told Radio Marca: “We have an excellent and young squad.
“However, if the coach considers it necessary, we will do everything in our reach to bring a player in. I have no idea whether he will end up coming.”

He then added: “I don’t think he is in Atletico Madrid’s plans.”

Rodriguez came close to joining Atletico last summer with a deal close to being agreed.
But after Diego Simeone’s side won a pre-season friendly 7-3, the move collapsed and the former Monaco man stayed put.
However, this season he has played just 14 times all season, registering one goal and two assists for Real.

Since the campaign restarted in June, Rodriguez’s only appearance came with a 78-minute cameo in the 2-1 LaLiga win over Real Sociedad.
In his six years on the books with Real Madrid following his £63m switch after top scoring at the 2014 World Cup, he has picked up two league titles, two Champions Leagues, two Super Cups and two Club World Cups.
He also won the Bundesliga in both seasons he was on loan at Bayern Munich.
But with the likes of Isco, Rodrygo, Vinicius Junior, Eden Hazard, Toni Kroos and Luka Modric – among others – ahead of Rodriguez in the pecking order in the side, his future appears set to be elsewhere.

Arsenal were heavily linked in January while a reunion with former boss Carlo Ancelotti at Everton was also suggested.
As revealed by SunSport, Manchester United were also offered the Colombia international for a cut-price fee.
And with just one year left on his current deal at the Bernabeu and an extension off the cards, Real will be keen to flog their man this summer.

Camavinga urges Rennes NOT to listen to transfer offers for him this summer as he wants to force 2021 Real Madrid move

EDUARDO CAMAVINGA will reportedly snub all transfer offers this summer to force his dream move to Real Madrid next year.
The French youngster, 17, is under contract at Rennes until the end of the 2021-22 season.

It is no secret that Camavinga has his heart set on a move to the Bernabeu.

And according to Marca, the whizkid has asked Rennes bigwigs not to listen to any transfer offers from other clubs.
Zinedine Zidane is believed to be a huge fan of his French compatriot, and has identified the midfielder as a long-term replacement for Casemiro.
But having won LaLiga – and with the club seeing £200million cut from their value – Los Blancos are unlikely to make any big moves this summer.

Real president Florentino Perez is reportedly happy with the squad at his disposal and therefore won’t fix what isn’t broken.
That has alerted the attention of Bayern Munich and PSG – with the German and French champions ready to pounce on Camavinga.
And his agent has warned him it may not be possible to wait around forever for Real.
Rennes have qualified for the Champions League next season after the Ligue 1 season was scrapped when they were in third place.

And the club are keen on keeping him for the competition.
New sporting director Florian Maurice revealed they would not sell their star man for anything less than £75m.
That has almost certainly scared off Real Madrid, who are struggling with the financial effects of the coronavirus pandemic. More

Real Madrid plan massive 17-player exodus this summer including Bale, James, Ceballos and Odegaard transfers

REAL MADRID are reportedly prepared to allow up to 17-players to leave the club this summer either on loan or permanent deals.
Spanish outlet Marca claim the likes of Gareth Bale, James Rodriguez and Luka Jovic are all expected to be on the chopping board.

Gareth Bale, Luka Modric and James Rodriguez’s Real Madrid futures are all in doubt this summer
SunSport previously reported that Madrid need to cover a £182MILLION shortfall following the coronavirus pandemic.
To avoid a financial black hole, Los Blancos are said to be keen on their players taking pay cuts.
Yet the majority of their money will be recouped from shifting the deadwood this summer.
Top priority for Real will be getting Gareth Bale’s £650,000-a-week wages off their books.

The Welshman’s agent has already insisted that the former Tottenham star will not be going anywhere this summer.
But reports in Spain claimed that Madrid will ‘aggressively push’ Bale, 31, and James Rodriguez out of the club.

    Real Madrid’s 17 at risk

Marca have run the rule over the players not in Real Madrid’s plans for next season

    Gareth BALE – Transfer
    James RODRIGUEZ – Transfer
    Luka MODRIC – Transfer
    Lucas VAZQUEZ – Transfer
    Dani CEBALLOS – Transfer
    Jesus VALLEJO – Transfer
    Luka JOVIC – Transfer
    Nacho Fernandez – Transfer
    MARIANO – Transfer
Alvaro ODRIOZOLA – Transfer or Loan
    Martin ODEGAARD – Loan
    Takefusa KUBO – Loan
    Sergio REGUILON – Loan
    Borja MAYORA – Transfer
    Oscar Rodriguez – Transfer
    Alberto SORO – Transfer
    Jorge DE FRUTOS – Transfer

New Monaco boss Niko Kovac has also offered his former player Luka Jovic an escape from his Bernabeu hell.
The former Bayern Munich manager is said to be keen on a reunion with the striker in France, with a loan the most likely option at this stage.

Meanwhile, Arsenal chief Mikel Arteta has confirmed talks are ongoing with Real – who want a permanent deal – over Dani Ceballos’ future.
Reports have claimed the midfielder will personally ask Madrid president Florentino Perez to extend his loan deal at the Gunners.
Fellow midfielder Martin Odegaard will remain with loan side Real Sociedad for another year in order to ensure regular first-team football.
The 21-year-old is viewed as the long-term replacement for Croatian ace Luka Modric in the Madrid midfield.
Marca claim that Sergio Reguilon, who spent this season on loan at Sevilla, is available for another temporary stint away from the Bernabeu.
Arsenal and Tottenham could be going head-to-head for his signature but the 23-year-old seems keen on staying in Spain.
Alvaro Odriozola has been granted permission to seek either a loan or permanent move away just two years after his £35m switch from Real Sociedad.
Madrid are hopeful of netting around £20m for out-of-favour Lucas Vazquez amid interest from Spurs.
The 28-year-old has struggled for form and fitness this season, and currently finds himself out with a calf injury.
Vazquez has also been linked with Chelsea and Arsenal in the past, and recently revealed that the Premier League would suit his “personality”.

Inter Milan target Luka Modric, 34, has long been rumoured to be nearing an exit and is approaching the final year of his contract.
DC United also rumoured to be keen on the Croatian Ballon d’Or winner.
Madrid misfits Nacho Fernandez, Oscar Rodriguez and Mariano Diaz are three more available to seek £10m moves away.
Likewise Jesus Vallejo but the defender who flopped at Wolves and has since been shunted to Granada will return a slighty smaller fee.

Los Blanocs starlet Takefusa Kubo, nicknamed “the Japanese Messi”, can leave on another loan after a successful stint at Mallorca.
There had also been high hopes for the likes of Borja Mayoral, Alberto Soro and Jorge de Frutos.
The trio are spending the season away from the club but look unlikely to break into the first-team set-up.

Arsenal blow as Monaco move to sign Real Madrid flop Luka Jovic on loan after striker’s nightmare year

ARSENAL have been dealt a blow following reports that Monaco have made their move to sign Real Madrid flop Luka Jovic.
ESPN claim the French club’s new manager Niko Kovac has eyed the striker as his first signing.

The report adds that the former Bayern Munich boss, who replaced Robert Moreno at Monaco last week, has already held talks with Jovic.
The pair are represented by the same agent, Fali Ramadani, and Kovac has already managed the Serbia International at Eintracht Frankfurt.
The 48-year-old is said to be keen on a reunion with Jovic, with a loan the most likely option at this stage.
The 22-year-old was touted as the next big thing last summer after he sealed a £54m move to LaLiga champions Madrid.

But the striker has endured a year from hell in La Liga with Zinedine Zidane now ready to listen to offers for him.
It had been speculated that Mikel Arteta earmarked Jovic as a possible replacement for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at Arsenal.
But SunSport previously reported how the Gunners face competition from Milan in the race to prise the Serbian away from Madrid.
Leicester City were also plotting a £31m swoop to partner Jovic with Jamie Vardy.

The Serbian has scored just twice in 26 games in all competitions during his first year in Spain.
Jovic’s problems have not just been on the field, with the player also involved in a number of coronavirus controversies throughout the pandemic.
He had previously been warned by former coach Dragoslav Stepanovic that he is ruining his career after breaking quarantine rules in March to fly to Serbia to visit his girlfriend.

Real Madrid will ‘aggressively push’ Bale and James out of club this summer as part of ‘Operation Exit’ to raise £164m

REAL MADRID hope to raise funds by finally selling Gareth Bale and James Rodriguez this summer, according to reports.
Club president Florentino Perez has prioritised raising money from player sales this summer given the financial effects of the coronavirus pandemic, with Los Blancos in the process of remodelling the Santiago Bernabeu.

    3

Real Madrid are hoping to raise money through the sales of Gareth Bale and James Rodriguez
Reports from Spanish newspaper Marca claim Real will “aggressively push” Bale and James out of the exit door in a bid to raise £164million in the transfer window.
Bale does not seem to have a future in the Spanish capital under current boss Zinedine Zidane.
The Welsh international cut a frustrated figure in Real’s title run-in, featuring just twice after La Liga’s June restart.
However, Bale’s agent Jonathan Barnett has stated the 31-year-old will be going nowhere this summer.

Reports this week have claimed the ex-Tottenham forward will be happy to run down his £600,000-a-week contract – which runs until 2022 – on the Bernabeu bench if needs be.

James meanwhile asked Zidane to be left out of Real’s squad in their last five games of the season, perhaps to avoid injury with a view to a move away from the club.
The Colombian midfielder has a year to run on his current deal and Perez would prefer to sell the 29-year-old this summer, rather than lose him for nothing in 2021.
James spent two years on loan at Bayern Munich before returning to Real last summer after the German giants rejected the chance to sign him permanently.

The ex-Porto and Monaco star has been linked with Arsenal, Manchester United and Everton in recent months.
James and Bale’s future has seemed intertwined for some time now.
The Welshman was all set to join Chinese side Jiangsu Suning on a free transfer last summer only for Real to pull the plug at the last minute.
The deal fell through after Los Blancos were informed through an intermediary of another Chinese side’s willingness to pay a transfer fee for 2014 World Cup Golden Boot-winner James.
However, this information turned out to be fake and both James and Bale remained at the Bernabeu.

Real Madrid ‘ready to rip up Gareth Bale’s contract with TWO years left’ and let wantaway winger leave on free transfer

REAL MADRID will reportedly pay off Gareth Bale for the final two years of his contract to allow him to leave on a free transfer at the end of the season.
The 30-year-old has failed to feature in any of the last five games, with the player once again an unused substitute in Monday’s 2-1 win against Granada.

    1

Gareth Bale has endured a frustrating season at Real Madrid with Zinedine Zidane continuously overlooking him Credit: Reuters
And the Welsh international once again trolled boss Zinedine Zidane from the sidelines as he was spotted entertaining himself by using a roll of tape as pretend binoculars.
It was reported last month that the ex-Tottenham ace’s relationship with Zidane is at “breaking point” and “worse than ever”.
But despite the player repeatedly being overlooked by Zizou, his agent Jonathan Barnett has insisted he is happy in Madrid and intends to see out his contract at the Bernabeu.
According to ABC, Real want to get the winger off their wage bill with the club livid that he appears unbothered about fighting for his position.

They state that the final straw was the image of Bale catching some shut-eye during the 2-0 win against Alaves last week.
ABC now report that the club plan to sit down with Bale and Barnett at the end of the season to discuss talks about him ending his contract two years early.
It has been alleged that Zidane doesn’t want Bale to be part of his squad next season and is keen for him to leave.

Bale has featured in just 16 top-flight games this season – his fewest tally since joining the club from Spurs in 2013.

Since his arrival, he has scored a total of 105 goals in 251 games – winning the LaLiga title once, the Champions League four times as well as firing in the winner in the Copa del Rey final against Barcelona in his opening campaign in Spain.
A move to China could still be an option for Bale after Real blocked his potential move to Jiangsu Suning last year.
