Luka Modric ‘agrees new Real Madrid contract until 2022’ dashing Tottenham’s transfer hopes of re-signing former star

LUKA MODRIC looks set to sign a new deal at Real Madrid, according to reports.
The 35-year-old’s current contract in the Spanish capital expires in June, meaning he is free to discuss pre-contract terms with other clubs next month.

Luka Modric looks set to sign a new contract at Real Madrid

But Marca reports Modric has agreed a deal in principle to stay at Real until 2022 – dashing Tottenham’s hopes of re-signing their former midfielder.
Jose Mourinho was reportedly interested in bringing Modric back to north London on a free transfer in the summer.
The Spurs boss has already successfully brought one Real Madrid player back to the Premier League with the loan signing of Gareth Bale.
Mourinho previously managed Modric during his final season in charge of Real in 2012-13.

However, the Croatian’s recent form for Zinedine Zidane’s side has persuaded the Real hierarchy to offer him an extension.
He is expected to turn down lucrative offers from Qatar and the MLS to remain with the Spanish giants.
It was previously reported the 2018 Ballon d’Or winner was willing to take a pay cut to stay with Los Blancos beyond next summer, and last month stated he wanted to end his career at the club.
As a result, it is expected his new deal will see him earn less than his previous terms.

His new contract will see him complete a decade as a Real Madrid player, having left Spurs for £30million in 2012.
In eight and a half years with Real, Modric has won 16 trophies, including four Champions League wins and two La Liga titles.
One player facing an uncertain future at the Bernabeu is captain Sergio Ramos.
The defender’s current deal also expires in June and he has yet to agree an extension with Real.

Isco ‘to quit Real Madrid in January after Zidane agrees to sell’ with Man City and Arsenal set for transfer battle

REAL MADRID midfielder Isco is ready to leave the club in January, according to reports.
The Spain international has been limited to just three starts in La Liga this season and is desperate for regular playing time ahead of next summer’s Euros.

Isco has reportedly asked to leave Real Madrid in January

Marca reports Isco has already informed Real of his desire to leave and the Spanish giants are willing to sell for around £45million.
The player also held talks with Real boss Zinedine Zidane who was understanding of Isco’s situation.
Isco had been hoping to win back his place in Zidane’s starting XI this season, but after playing just 260 minutes of domestic action so far this term, he is now considering a change of scenery.

Mundo Deportivo claims Arsenal and Manchester City are both showing interest in the 28-year-old.
The playmaker’s availability has also alerted Serie A pair Juventus and Inter Milan, as well as Julen Lopetegui’s Sevilla.
With his contract set to expire in 2022, Real will be hoping to sell now rather than allow the player to enter the final year of his contract.
However, the report states they could sanction a loan with an option to buy for the ex-Malaga man.

Isco was linked with a move to former manager Carlo Ancelotti’s Everton last week, though the Italian later rubbished those rumours.

Ancelotti told DIRECTV Sports Co: “It is not true that I am behind Isco.
“We haven’t started thinking about the team for the January market.
“So those comments are, as they say here, bulls***.”
Since joining Real from Malaga in 2013, Isco has scored 51 goals in 313 games, winning 16 trophies.

Real Madrid ‘confident they CAN complete Kylian Mbappe transfer deal next summer for £161m if star refuses PSG contract’

REAL MADRID are ready to wrap up a sensational £161million deal for Kylian Mbappe – if he refuses to sign an extension to his Paris Saint-Germain contract.
The France World Cup winner has been Los Blancos’ top target for the last two years.

Madrid newspaper AS claim the Spanish giants are confident they can secure Mbappe’s transfer.
The 21-year-old hitman is considering all options.
He joined PSG from Monaco in July 2018.
Mbappe’s contract expires in June 2022.

He can sign a pre-contract with a club outside France in 14 months’ time.
Bernabeu chief Zinedine Zidane has long been a fan of his fellow countryman.
He would like to link Mbappe up with his fellow countryman Karim Benzema.
Real are restructuring their finances to bring in the cash to turn the Mbappe transfer into reality.

They will make £33m this season from offsetting wages they would have spent on James Rodriguez and Gareth Bale.
They also brought in £27m from Tottenham for Spain left-back Sergio Reguilon.
Madrid chiefs know that if Mbappe signs a new deal then his transfer value will rocket.
They hope he will run down his contract so they can get him next year for £161m.

Real Madrid plan for new wave of Galacticos with stunning triple transfer for Mbappe, Haaland and Camavinga

REAL MADRID are reportedly planning a stunning triple swoop to bring in Kylian Mbappe, Erling Haaland and Eduardo Camavinga.
Los Blancos have cash to spend next year having failed to sign anyone this summer due to the coronavirus crisis, while their key targets were not available.

This is how Real Madrid could start if they sign all their key targets

According to AS, Zinedine Zidane’s side are in pole position to land Borussia Dortmund striker Haaland when he decides to leave the German club.
Manchester United have also been linked with a move to sign the Norway international, but it is believed Real are at the front of the queue.
The Spanish news outlet also claims that Paris Saint Germain forward Kylian Mbappe is being chased by Zizou.
Meanwhile Rennes starlet Camavinga remains a priority for Real as they look to replace the ageing Luka Modric.

SunSport reported in September how the trio were being eyed up by Real as they plan for a new wave of Galacticos.
Should Real manage to sign the exciting youngsters, they would most certainly boast one of the most lethal sides in Europe.
Thibaut Courtois would retain his place between the sticks, while Dani Carvajal would start at right-back with Ferland Mendy to edge out Marcelo at left-back.
The centre-back pairing would likely be Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane with the two having formed a formidable partnership.

Brazilian defensive midfielder Casemiro would likely sit in front of the back four, with Toni Kroos and Camavinga playing slightly ahead.
To accommodate Eden Hazard featuring on the left wing, Mbappe may be shunted out on the right wing, despite it not being his natural position.
Despite Karim Benzema impressing of late for Real, he could find himself on the bench in favour of Haaland.
A wealth of attacking talent would also be on the bench, as Zidane would not only be able to rely on Benzema, but also Vinicius Junior, Isco and potentially Gareth Bale.

Real Madrid flop Isco ‘keen’ on Everton transfer as January sale on cards and ace wants to play for Ancelotti again

EVERTON are reportedly in the hunt to sign Isco and reunite the midfielder with old boss Carlo Ancelotti.
The Spaniard won a Champions League and Copa del Rey title when the Toffees boss coached Real Madrid, but has fallen out of favour under Zinedine Zidane.

With just two starts all season, neither of which lasted longer than an hour, the 28-year-old is thought to be available for a January switch.
According to the Mirror, Isco fancies reuniting with Ancelotti and former team-mate James Rodriguez at Everton.
Madrid are reportedly happy to send the midfielder out on loan in January, with an £18million obligation to buy.
However, any potential buyer would have to pay his £120,000-a-week wages in full, it is said.

Competition could come from Juventus with the Serie A giants linked with a swap deal.
Reports in Italy suggest Real are thinking of offering Isco plus winger Vinicius in a bid for Paulo Dybala.

Isco leaving Real would end a seven-year spell with the LaLiga side, with two league titles and four Champions League crowns won in the Spanish capital.
But his relationship with coach Zidane has been subject to much speculation.

Named on the bench for last month’s Clasico, the playmaker was heard joking about his boss in the stands before the game.
Movistar TV cameras picked up Isco regaling to team-mates: “If [Zidane] has to take me off, he takes me off in the 50th or 60th minute, sometimes at half-time.
“If he has to bring me on, he brings me on in the 80th minute.”
Zidane subbed Isco off at half-time of Real’s defeat to Cadiz earlier in the campaign, but defended his player after the game.

He said: “There’s always going to be criticism, even when we win.
“Isco is a decisive player, he’s always shown that and I have no doubt in my mind.
“We want to change things and we will, Isco just like everyone else. I have no doubt about it.”

Real Madrid legend Sergio Ramos demands new two-year deal but club only willing to give defender 12 months

REAL MADRID and Sergio Ramos are set for a contract showdown with the Spanish giants only willing to give their skipper a 12-month extension.
The 34-year-old club legend – who is in the last year of his stay at the Bernabeu – is seeking a two-year extension.

Spanish media have claimed Ramos is desperate to sign a new two-year deal

According to AS, the Spanish centre-back – who has been at the club since joining from Sevilla in 2005 – wants a contract until 2023.
But Los Blancos have a policy of only handing out one-year deals for players in their thirties.
The two parties are set to enter negotiations in November, with Real aware Ramos is free to speak to other clubs in January.
However it has been stated that it is expected Ramos will put pen to paper on a new deal, with the player to be given a small pay rise.

A source said: “There is no hurry, there is total confidence in Florentino (Perez).
“And they even glimpse the possibility that the captain will settle for signing year after year.
Real know how vital Ramos is to their team, with the club losing seven out of their last eight Champions League matches without him in the side.

Ramos didn’t feature in last week’s 3-2 loss against Shakhtar Donetsk, where the Ukrainian side went into the break 3-0 up.

But he started in El Clasico on Saturday, with Real emerging 3-1 victors against Barcelona at the Nou Camp.
The 2010 World Cup winner scored a penalty during the clash, bringing him one goal away from 100 strikes for Madrid in all competitions.

Man Utd star paul Paul Pogba urged to ‘move on’ by club legend Paul Ince amid Real Madrid transfer interest

MANCHESTER UNITED legend Paul Ince has told Paul Pogba to ‘move on’ just weeks after the midfielder admitted it is his ‘dream’ to play for Real Madrid.
Pogba was once again on the bench at the weekend as United played out a dull 0-0 draw at home to Chelsea.

Fred and Scott McTominay bagged the anchoring spots in the midfield, with Bruno Fernandes just in front.
Pogba did play some part in the game as he replaced veteran Juan Mata on 58 minutes.
But Ince believes the time has come for the 27-year-old Frenchman to leave Old Trafford.

Speaking to beIN Sports, Ince said: “For him to be sitting on the bench and watching, with no disrespect, McTominay and Fred playing in his position, I would be saying, ‘I must be doing something wrong if I can’t get in this team’.

“I know he has had an injury, and he might be trying to bring him on a little later on. But I think it is time to move on.
“He has come out in the last two weeks and said he wants to join Real Madrid.
“I think his performances, since he has been here, have been inconsistent.
“Paul Pogba is a world-class player, and when he moved to Old Trafford, I thought [it would be] great. But all he has done is been a problem.

“The fans have gone against him and now Bruno Fernandes has come in and shown what you need to do to be a Manchester United player.”
Days before the transfer deadline Pogba reiterated he ‘dreams of playing for Real Madrid one day’.
The Frenchman, however, did insist he is happy at Old Trafford for now.
He said: “Yes, all footballers would like to play for Real Madrid. Maybe it is a dream. It is a dream for me, why not one day?
“As I have said, I am at Manchester United and I like my club.”

Man Utd eye Federico Valverde transfer as Real Madrid midfielder starts to fulfil potential

MANCHESTER UNITED have put Real Madrid’s Uruguay superstar Federico Valverde on their hit-list.
The midfield magician has pushed his way into the Spanish side’s team this season and started to justify his big reputation.

Valverde, 22, has been tipped for the top for years but is slowly proving his quality in LaLiga — and long-term admirers United are on red alert.
And with Paul Pogba openly admitting he likes the idea of a move to Real Madrid in the future, United are keeping an eye on Valverde in case a swap becomes possible.
Valverde has a £640MILLION buyout clause, which shows how much Real think of him.
It would be unusual for United to sign a player from a major European rival at his age but Pogba could be a very intriguing pawn in the game.

Old Trafford boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had confirmed the club triggered the one-year extension in Pogba’s contract.
His deal was up at the end of this season with no announcement that the club had taken up the opportunity to extend it by a further year.
Solskjaer said: “Paul’s our player, he’s going to be here for another two years and sure he’s focused on doing his best for us and we want to see the best from Paul and I’m sure in the next couple of years we’ll get the best out of him.”
Just last week the Frenchman once again flirted with Real, who he said it would be a ‘dream’ to play for.

Pogba said: “Yes, all footballers would like to play for Real Madrid.
“Maybe it is a dream. It is a dream for me, why not one day? As I have said, I am at Manchester United and I like my club.
“I am performing at Manchester United, I am enjoying myself and I want to do everything I can to get the club back to where it deserves to be.
“I am going to give my maximum, like my teammates. I prefer to concentrate on football and on returning to fitness.”
