He purchased a £1.3billion stake in the Red Devils from the Glazer family despite initially wanting to become the majority owner.
Ratcliffe is set to inject £237million into the club, with significant changes already being made.
And one of his priorities is understood to be the renovation of Old Trafford.
During a meeting with Man Utd fan representatives last week, Ratcliffe announced that he intends to maximise the space around the stadium.

The new minority owner believes there is untapped potential in the land surrounding Old Trafford.
He is also confident that by developing improved links with local authorities and civic leaders, the regeneration and redevelopment of the ground could be completed quicker than initially expected.
Ratcliffe is set to remain in regular contact with Mayor of Manchester Andy Burnham and senior executives from Trafford Council and Greater Manchester Combined Authority while pushing for planning permission.
Man Utd fans have expressed concern about the state of Old Trafford in recent years.

The roof of the stadium has been damaged, leading to it leaking on more than one occasion.
One fan even captured photographs of the ceiling appearing to crumble during a derby game.
United legend Gary Neville has criticised the infrastructure, telling the Diary of a CEO podcast: “I used to laugh when I went to Anfield and compared it to Old Trafford. I’d always think: ‘They can never catch up, they’re too far behind’.
“They’re building that second stand now behind the goal where the away fans sit. The main stand now is towering up. Anfield will be a more modern ground than Manchester United and Old Trafford in 12 months. That is unforgivable.” More

Frank Lampard reveals Everton star told team-mates ‘don’t accept that’ after Carragher’s Monday Night Football rant

FRANK LAMPARD singled out one Everton star for praise following his brief spell at Goodison Park.Lampard, 45, was appointed as manager by the Toffees on January 2022 but only lasted a year after 12 wins and 24 losses in 44 matches.

The Chelsea legend had to steer the ship during a challenging time for the Merseysiders both on and off the pitch but had help from an “amazing” veteran.
And that was none other than Everton captain Seamus Coleman, 35, who always stood up for the club to motivate his players.
Lampard specifically remembered how Coleman reacted after some scathing criticism from Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher, 45, during Monday Night Football.
Carragher, who is a famous Everton fan despite spending his entire career playing for rivals Liverpool, said the players were “not good enough”.

But the Republic of Ireland international would have none of it and issued a passionate rallying cry to urge his team-mates to not accept that which ultimately led to a major turning point.
Lampard told The Overlap via Sky Bet: “Seamus is amazing.
“What a player, I remember playing against him and I didn’t really appreciate it until I worked with him – at that point he was 33.
“It wasn’t just what he did on the pitch it was what he did off the pitch – his standards, his humility, everything about him.

“There’s not a bit of him that is not genuine, and he wore it on his face when we were struggling. He’d say, ‘I care’. He’d speak in front of the players on his own.
“We spoke about you [Carragher] once at one point because you had a dig on Monday Night Football and said we’re not good enough – he used you as a reference point.
“He was going, ‘Don’t accept that’. As players and managers we have to take some stick – but the only way to deal with it was to react to it.
“It was a bit of a turning point for us – he was always the man to do that.” More

Barcelona rank as the worst at transfers, having spent over £1billion on the likes of Philippe CoutinhoCredit: Getty
Clubs have been ranked based on transfers between 2014 and 2023, with their fees spent and received calculated into a total profit or loss.
Fortunately for Arsenal and United fans, they do not rank top amongst the clubs with the worst transfer records.
Instead, Spanish giants Barcelona have the biggest loss on deals during the period in question.
Barca spent over £1billion on the likes of Philippe Coutinho, Ousmane Dembele and Antoine Griezmann between 2014 and 2023.

The trio were signed for a combined £330million, only to have since been sold for a total of £77m.
Overall, the Spanish champions only received £524million in fees to give a transfer loss of £540million.
Chelsea were the only other club in the top 10 to spend over £1billion, with Todd Boehly’s free-spending Blues ranked second.
Since his takeover in 2022, the club have not held back in the transfer market, but have failed to recoup their large fees, leaving a loss of £413million.

Amongst those brought in during the research period, Enzo Fernandez, Moises Caicedo and Romelu Lukaku were all signed for over £95million each.
Arsenal rank third, with former club record signing Nicolas Pepe amongst their big money flops across the last decade.
Pepe scored 27 goals in 112 appearances for the club before joining Trabzonspor on a free transfer in September.
The Gunners have lost £373million on transfers, seeing them finish just ahead of Paris Saint-Germain.
Neymar’s £198million move to the French capital in 2017 remains the world transfer record.
However, PSG failed to recoup half of that amount when he left for Al-Hilal last summer.
United complete the top five, with their £85.5million signing of Antony in 2022 contributing to a £280million loss on transfers.

The Brazilian has come under fire for his performances since joining the Red Devils after arriving for the second biggest fee in the club’s history.
Paul Pogba remains United’s record signing, though, but left for free in 2022 at a loss of £90million.
Aston Villa, Everton and Liverpool also appear in the top 10, along with Italy’s AC Milan and Juventus.
Although Villa spent just £313million from 2014 to 2023, the club recouped only £94million according to CIES.
A majority of that figure comes from Jack Grealish’s then British record move to Manchester City in 2021.
In contrast, Juventus’ transfer expenditure fell just short of £900million, but their incoming fees of over £700million see the Old Lady only ranking as high as 10.
Everton are eighth after big losses on Yannick Bolasie, Davy Klaasen and Yerry Mina, despite profits on both Lukaku and Richarlison.

Lille’s capture and sale of Victor Osimhen helps them rank as the best club at transfersCredit: AFP
City rivals Liverpool are a place below in ninth after spending £82million less.
However, the Reds have only sold three players for over £50million, despite breaking their transfer record twice since 2018.
As for the best clubs at transfers, French side Lille are ranked first.
Thanks in part to the sale of Pepe to Arsenal in 2019, Lille have made £330million in profit on transfers since 2014.

Victor Osimhen and Sven Botman have also been sold for large profits during that period.

During his nine years in charge of the club, Chelsea won five Premier League titles and two Champions League crowns.
And, speaking to The Overlap, Lampard explained how Abramovich created a winning culture at Stamford Bridge where coming second was a huge failure.

But any defeat frustrated him and one time he brutally threatened to sell his stars if they didn’t win a Champions League game.
Lampard said: “Roman had a few harsh meetings with us in his first few years when he was more present.

“He was like: ‘Do I think we are going to win this game? No. Will you be here next season if we don’t win this game? A lot of you, no.’
“This was two hours before the game.”
Lampard also disclosed that after Chelsea crashed out the Champions League to Jose Mourinho’s Inter Milan in 2010, Abramovich “absolutely went” at both the players and manager.
The club legend believes his brutality worked due to the strong core in the squad with Petr Cech, John Terry, Didier Drogba and himself all setting high standards and leading by example. More

Gary Neville reveals the only player who Sir Alex Ferguson broke his own transfer rule for

SIR ALEX FERGUSON never consulted his Manchester United players about a potential signing. But Gary Neville has revealed the Scottsman broke that rule after striker Louis Saha impressed the ex-Red Devils boss.

Fergie broke this rule when he recruited striker Louis Saha from Fulham in 2004Credit: PA:Press Association
Fergie built an empire at Old Trafford during his quarter of a century at Man Utd.
And in the 2000-01 season, the Red Devils were soaring through at the top of the Premier League.
Then in January 2001, United headed down to Craven Cottage for an FA CUp clash against Fulham.
Even though the Red Devils were victorious that day thanks to Teddy Sheringham and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s goals.

The Cottagers striker Saha left Fergie amazed after putting up a fight with his defence.
He then broke his own transfer rule of not discussing deals with his players and asked his defenders for their thoughts on the Frenchman.
United legend Neville said on Sky Sports: “Sir Alex never asked us which players we should sign or never asked us information about players he was going to sign.
“But after we played Fulham one time in the FA Cup, he actually asked us as defenders, would we sign Louis Saha? We all said “yes” straight away.”

And after Fulham defeated United in 2003 it was a done deal for Ferguson who signed Saha the following January for £12.4million.
Saha would go on to win two Premier League titles and a Champions League with the Red Devils before leaving for Everton in the summer of 2008.
Neville continued: “I remember the season where he was playing up front with Wayne Rooney in 2006 and it was unbelievable; they were fantastic together.
“Louis was a brilliant, brilliant player. He gave me absolute nightmares when I used to play against him when he played for Fulham – him and Luis Boa Morte.” More

Chelsea player ratings: Ben Chilwell shines but Mykhailo Mudryk hauled off at half-time as Blues book Wembley date

CHELSEA cruised into another Wembley final after beating Middlesbrough 6-1 in the Carabao Cup.The Blues had started poorly at Stamford Bridge before captain Ben Chilwell inspired the opener, latching onto a loose ball and then finding Raheem Sterling to cut back for Armando Broja.

Mykhailo Mudryk left Mauricio Pochettino visibly frustrated on a number of occasions and was subbed off at half-timeCredit: PA
Broja celebrated but the ball was actually poked in by Middlesbrough captain Jonny Howson.
Chelsea then scored three more before the break – two of which Boro can only blame themselves for.
The second come after good work down the right from Axel Disasi and Raheem Sterling, with the defender crossing for Enzo Fernandez to finish.
Boro appeared defeated and only looked worse after Disasi pick the pocket of a Boro defender and then burst forward, latching onto a Sterling cross to score a third.

The fourth came from Boro overplaying at the back and when Dan Barlaser slipped Cole Palmer did what he couldn’t manage at the Riverside and found the net with ease.
Palmer then had a second with about 15 minutes still to play, slotting home a Conor Gallgher cutback to end any worries that Riverside disaster may have affected him.
Chelsea weren’t done there however, with more loose Boro play being punished – this time Noni Madueke being put through by Gallagher to cut inside and finish on his left.
Boro got a late consolation through Morgan Rogers but Mauricio Pochettino’s side were well on their way to Wembley by then.
    Most read in Football
    Here’s how SunSport’s Tom Sheen rated Mauricio Pochettino’s players…
    Djordje Petrovic – 6/10
The Chelsea goalkeeper had very little to do on what was – by far – the easiest night he has had since coming into the side.
Got down quickly to his right to deny a tame Morgan Rogers effort but appeared to be sleeping and was left flat footed late on when Rogers bent in a decent effort that should have been saved.
    Axel Disasi – 8
The giant Frenchman has often struggled in the right-back role but was excellent here.
Had a huge hand in the second goal after good link-up play and a cut-back that was eventually turned in by Enzo Fernandez, before getting on the scoresheet himself.
Disasi picked the pocket of a Boro midfielder before driving forward and latching onto a Raheem Sterling pass for his first goal since the opening day of the season.
Axel Disasi enjoyed his role on the right
    Thiago Silva – 7
The Chelsea defence was rarely troubled and Silva looked comfortable for vast majority of the night.
There was one nervy moment where he appeared to misjudge a pass in behind, but his recovery and last-ditch tackle was times to perfection.
    Levi Colwill – 6
Looks much more comfortable defending in the centre of the pitch than he does when shunted out to the left.
Loses a mark because his passing, especially in the early stages, was extremely poor, with at least four passes missing there target by at least 20 yards.
    Ben Chilwell – 9
Wow – what a return to the starting line-up for the Chelsea vice-captain.
This was the kind of performance that Chilwell was putting in on his way to helping the Blues win the Champions League in 2021.
Full of energy up and down the left flank and a real attacking threat – his brilliant pass to Raheem Sterling created the opening goal – Chilwell also defended resolutely.
Chilwell saw plenty of the ball on his return to the starting XI
Ben Chilwell was excellent in his first start since SeptemberCredit: Getty
    Enzo Fernandez – 7
Playing in a really advanced role, Enzo grabbed a really nicely taken goal saw the midfielder arrive late into the box, latch onto a loose ball and finish with ease.
Would have been nice to see him get on the ball a bit more and dictate with his passing – and he should have had another goal after a brilliant Cole Palmer through-ball – but a good performance overall.
Enzo Fernandez was a key player
    Moises Caicedo – 6
Solid in the holding role, Caicedo endured a poor start to the game and then didn’t really have much to do with any of the goals.
Held his position well, though, and made a couple of crucial interceptions to thwart some Boro attacks.
    Cole Palmer – 9
After his horror night at the Riverside, Palmer produced two perfect finishes with the greatest of ease to exercise any demons he might have had from that night.
For his first, Boro overplayed from the back and Palmer stole the ball from the slipping Dan Barlaser, before calmly finishing from close range.
His second came from a Conor Gallagher cross and the starlet also had a hand in Disasi’s goal – he could have had another assist or two but for poor finishing from Enzo and Disasi.
Cole Palmer scored twice to help send the Blues to WembleyCredit: Getty
Cole Palmer was Chelsea’s star man
    Mykhailo Mudryk – 5
Dragged off at half-time after Poch remonstrated with the winger on a couple of occasions for losing possession too easily.
Perhaps a bit harsh given the game was all wrapped up at the break, with Mudryk still providing a couple of dangerous moments in the first-half.
    Raheem Sterling – 9
On another night he could have had a hat-trick, but the unselfish winger picked perfect passes on three occasions to set up his team-mates.
He had a hand in three of the four first-half goals and looked incredibly lively every time he got on the ball.
Raheem Sterling didn’t score but had a huge hand in three goalsCredit: Getty
    Armando Broja – 5
Had a sure goal robbed off of his toe when Jonny Howson attempted to tackle him for the opening goal and then whiffed at a Disasi cross that was turned in by Enzo.
Taken off after the hour mark having failed to really get into the game.
    SUBS
    Noni Madueke (for Mudryk, 45) – 8
Always a danger cutting in on his left foot, Madueke scored a lovely goal after holding off his man and finding the far corner.
    Alfie Gilchrist (for Chilwell, 65) – 6
Didn’t have that much of an impact on the game but looked comfortable in defence and in possession.
    Conor Gallagher (for Broja, 65) – 8
Two assists in 30 minutes for the captain isn’t a bad night’s work.
His energy heaped more pressure on an already tired looking Boro side.
    Carney Chukwuemeka (for Caicedo, 72) – 6
Looks very rusty but that is to be expected at this stage of his comeback.
Vital minutes in his legs as Chelsea look to push on in the second half of the season.
