Sean Millis says it would be a ‘dream’ if Man Utd fans sang his hit at Old Trafford as he opens up on battle with trolls

SEAN MILLIS wants Old Trafford to become the theatre for his own dream. The singer would love fans to belt out his ‘Waiting on a Miracle’ Christmas viral No1 at Manchester United – after insisting he has embraced banter over his likeness to Red Devils’ striker Rasmus Hojlund.
Aussie songwriter Sean Millis enjoys ‘banter’ over his likeness to Rasmus Hojlund

Millis, 22, sprung to fame on The Voice Australia 2023.
But although he’s since faced some trolling, the Aussie says he’s comfortable with that and in particular has enjoyed supporters linked his ‘Miracle’ hit with Hojlund’s Premier League goal drought.
Fans began sharing Millis’ videos every time United’s £72million summer signing failed to net.
The TikTok sensation followed suit but with a more positive spin – putting up his own clips in a Red Devils’ shirt and sending Hojlund some motivational words.

Both men then struck festive gold – Millis in the online charts and the Dane bagging his first ever Prem goal with a Boxing Day comeback winner in a 3-2 home thriller against Aston Villa.
And Millis, who has the incurable disability Hunter’s syndrome, says he’s revelled in the whole experience with United.
Now he hopes to hear something extra special from the stands at the Theatre of Dreams.
With a beaming smile, he told Sky Sports: “It’s been beautiful. It would be a dream if they sang ‘Waiting On a Miracle’ at Old Trafford.”

Millis added: “I’m so grateful for the people connected with the song and I hope it inspires them to do what they want to do.”
Fans responded warmly online with comments like: “Just a nice fella to be fair isn’t he” and “This guy’s a legend”.
But some supporters still couldn’t resist linking his best-known song with United’s current plight – as Erik ten Hag’s men sit just ninth in the Prem and are out of the Champions League.
These jibes included: “Waiting on a miracle at Old Trafford. .. how fitting” and “A miracle is needed at the club alright”.
Millis’ Hunter’s syndrome causes health issues such as reduced lung capacity, joint stiffness and mild hearing loss. More

Cole and Crouch pick Chelsea and Liverpool combined XI from stars they played with but fans fume at shock omission

JOE COLE and Peter Crouch named their combined Chelsea and Liverpool team – but fans were left fuming. The former England team-mates are on punditry duty for TNT Sports at Anfield.

And they were tasked with putting together the ultimate combined XI from stars they played with.
Blues icon Petr Cech was picked over Pepe Reina but the back four was split down the middle.
Ashley Cole and John Terry – who played with both Crouch and Cole for England – were picked with Jamie Carragher and Steve Finnan.
And it was the inclusion of centre-half Carragher and right-back Finnan that outraged fans.

It meant the likes of Ricardo Carvalho, Paulo Ferreira and Branislav Ivanovic were all snubbed.
One fan said: “Carragher and Finnan??? Carvalho left out for Carra.”
Another fumed: “Finnan? Really? Paulo Ferreira was so far clear.”
One slammed: “Finnan over Ivanovic and Carragher over Carvalho?! What sort of rubbish is this.”

Cech, Carvalho and Ferreira were part of the Chelsea defence that famously only conceded 15 goals in their 2004/05 Premier League winning season.
But Carragher and Finnan also lifted the Champions League the same year.
In midfield, it is no surprise Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard featured with Claude Makelele named in the holding position.
Luis Suarez managed to fit in the same forward line as Didier Drogba by being deployed on the left.
And Arjen Robben was placed on the right, which would enable him to cut in on his left foot.
Jose Mourinho, under whom Cole won two Premier League titles, was picked as manager.
And Xabi Alonso was preferred as assistant coach instead of in the starting XI.
The Liverpool legend, boss of Bayer Leverkuson, is now the front runner to succeed Jurgen Klopp next season after the German announced he will leave in the summer. More

Chelsea’s plans for Liverpool clash in tatters after Nicolas Jackson BANNED from flying home from Afcon after Senegal KO

But despite late wrangling, no Senegal players were given permission to leave the training camp immediately after the defeat to Ivory Coast.
And that means Jackson will have no chance of joining up with his Blues team-mates in time for the 8.15pm kick off.
Chelsea booked their £35million player onto a commercial flight to Manchester which was scheduled to arrive on Wednesday morning in the hope they could get him on the bench at Anfield at least.
Head coach Pochettino even joked that he was willing to see Jackson parachute out of the plane over the ground “If it gives us one percent more chance of winning. But i don’t know if he is brave enough to jump.”

Jackson will instead take a more leisurely route home and is likely to figure in Sunday’s home Premier League clash with Wolves.
The Senegalese forward has scored eight goals and provided two assists in 23 appearances this season.
But he hit the back of the net just once in eight league matches before jetting off to the Africa Cup of Nations.
And he could be under even more pressure if Armando Broja is sold before the end of the January window.
    Most read in Football
Broja’s asking price has been slashed from £50m to £40m as the Blues seek a suitor for the Albania international.
Wolves and Fulham are both understood to be interested in the forward – who has one Premier League goal this season.
Meanwhile, Chelsea’s 18-year-old Brazilian striker Deivid Washington could be allowed out on loan for the rest of the season. More

Rashford, 26, was disciplined after missing Friday’s training session following a 12-hour night out in Northern Ireland’s capital and was axed from Erik ten Hag’s squad for their 4-2 FA Cup victory over Newport.
A club statement has since confirmed Rashford has “taken responsibility” for his actions and that they consider the matter to be “closed”.
And now Nevin – who ditched from his column writing role at Chelsea – has had his say on the saga.
He wrote for BBC Sport: “I feel unqualified to have a go at Marcus. I once popped over to Heathrow one Tuesday after training for Chelsea.

“I flew to Paris on a cheap standby ticket and got the train another 200 miles south to Bourges to see my then favourite band – The Cocteau Twins.
“I stayed over, got the red eye back in time for training and the team manager was none the wiser.”
Ten Hag offered clarity at Wednesday’s press conference after the The Sun exclusively revealed the extent of the striker’s time away.
The United boss said: “So he has taken responsibility and for the rest it’s an internal matter. Case closed.”

The Dutchman also hit back at claims there is a lack of discipline in the squad.
