Talks over a new deal with the Treble winners have yet to result in anything official.
And in Spain it is said Haaland, 23, does not like living in Manchester.
But boss Guardiola said: “What do you think, we don’t want Erling to stay here for one decade? Honestly. Yes, we want him to stay for a long time in this club. We are in love with him.
“First, it’s an honour the important clubs want our players but in the end the players decide.

“But,   of  course,  we want to keep our best players. We need good players.”
Haaland was born in Leeds while his dad Alfie was playing for the Whites.
Despite the reports from Spain, Haaland gave an interview to City last week in which he spoke about how settled he feels in Manchester.
Asked what he liked most about life in the North West, he said: “I’m a football guy, for me it’s easy for my family to come over, right over the sea, really close.

Arsenal fans loved the celebrations, but former Liverpool captain Carragher was unimpressed.
Watching Odegaard while performing punditry duties for Sky Sports, an unimpressed Carra said: “Just get down the tunnel.
“You’ve won a game, three points.

Backing Carra, a third commented: “This is the problem they start celebrating 3 points like trophies.”
And another added: “This is why ppl dislike Arsenal.”
After the game, ex-Red Carragher posted on Twitter: “By all means enjoy it, but enjoy it by being disciplined!”
The Gunners went 1-0 up in the 14th minute via Bukayo Saka, who was later taken off with an apparent injury.
Gabriel Magalhaes’ farcical own goal saw Liverpool level on the stroke of half-time, but Arsenal regained their lead through Gabriel Martinelli after a howler by Alisson.
Ibrahima Konate was then red carded late on, with Leandro Trossard grabbing a third in stoppage time.
After the game, a frustrated Jurgen Klopp told Sky Sports: “A lot of things were against of us today.
“This referee gave me a red card against Man City for wrestling situation between Bernardo Silva and Mo Salah. Today same situation with Jota but didn’t get a red card.
“It is unbelievable, then the of holding Havertz on Konate for the first yellow card. Then Havertz goes down and the referee gives Konate a yellow card. Gabriel does the same to Nunez and no yellow card.”

Crystal Palace ‘consider SACKING Roy Hodgson’ after Brighton thrashing but top candidates are ‘reluctant to take over’

CRYSTAL PALACE are considering sacking Roy Hodgson, according to reports. The Palace boss has come under fire at various points during the season but won key games against Brentford and Sheffield United to save his job.

But he is now under pressure once again after overseeing a 4-1 defeat to rivals Brighton, report The Guardian.
Hodgson could have been sacked following the 5-0 defeat to Arsenal but Palace are stalling.
It is believed that is because their preferred candidates – Steve Cooper and Julen Lopetegui – are reluctant to take over.
Both managers are out of work and Cooper has been linked with a move to Selhurst Park for several weeks, particularly since he was sacked by Nottingham Forest.

However both bosses are said to be hesitant about taking over because of Palace’s busy schedule, which would give them little time to prepare the team.
Palace owner John Textor is understood to support a change in manager but he has not spoken to Parish since the Brighton loss.
Hodgson, 76, also came under fire for his decision to bring on Michael Olise, with the winger lasting just 11 minutes on the pitch as injury forced him off.
The former England boss defended that decision and insisted he has the determination to continue as manager.

He said: “Taunts from supporters are part and parcel of our lives and, at the moment, our own fans are not happy with the way things are going so they’re making their feelings known.
“But I signed up to be the manager of this club and I’ve got the strength, resilience and determination to see things through.
“I’m certainly not going to be cowed by that sort of thing and I’m certainly not going to give you the satisfaction of saying I’m hurt by that kind of thing because it’s pretty obvious.
“Everyone wants to be liked, praised and told they’re the best. When that doesn’t happen, yes, it’s a little bit hurtful.” More

Arsenal 3 Liverpool 1: Gunners prove they’re well in title race as Alisson blunders seal win over 10-man Liverpool

ON A wild afternoon at the Emirates, Arsenal blew a bloody great hole in the centre of Jurgen Klopp’s defence and declared a three-horse title. First Virgil Van Dijk’s extraordinary mix-up with keeper Alisson gifted the decisive goal to Gabriel Martinelli, then Ibrahima Konate was sent off for two fouls on Kai Havertz as Liverpool’s 22-match unbeaten domestic run was ended.

The Gunners, who dominated the match for long stretches, are now just two points behind Klopp’s leaders.
And champions Manchester City – third but with two games in hand – could go top before Liverpool next play.
There is something about the chaos of Premier League football which can make mugs of even the greatest defenders.
And here, two of the very best – William Saliba and Van Dijk – were guilty of shocking errors.
    READ MORE ON ARSENAL
After Bukayo Saka had fired Arsenal into an early lead, Arteta’s side pressed self-destruct as Saliba’s blunder led to a Gabriel Marguelhes own goal in first-half injury-time.
But Arsenal rallied as Martinelli capitalised on a major misjudgment from Van Dijk and a kamikaze dash from Alisson to score.
And after Konate’s late dismissal, Leandro Trossard secured Arsenal’s third straight win to propel them right back into the title picture.
Sensing the importance of this match, Arteta’s behaviour was even more frenzied than usual – he was dashing out of his technical area to play ball-boy at throw-ins and screaming at fourth official Craig Pawson over minor decisions.

Saka should have opened the scoring a couple of minutes before he did.
A long throw from David Raya sent Gabriel Martinelli tearing down the left but when he crossed Saka skewed his diving header off target.
The England winger did not have to wait long, though.
Martin Odegaard’s cute pass released Kai Havertz, who dithered and saw his shot parried by an on-rushing Alisson, with Saka on hand to snap up the rebound.
Arsenal survived a VAR check for offside and the Emirates went ballistic.
Joe Gomez was booked for hauling back Havertz after Declan Rice won possession to start another counter and Liverpool were looking rattled.
Ben White was booked for time-wasting while prevaricating over a free-kick after just half an hour.
But the idea that Arsenal were trying to slow the game down was ludicrous.

Martinelli was operating at light speed, Rice was a Tasmanian Devil in midfield, Odegaard celebrating winning a throw-in as most men would celebrate a lottery jackpot.
Liverpool were struggling to keep their heads above water. Luis Diaz, who’d been chucking himself to the floor throughout most of the first half was lucky to escape with a petulant late challenge on Ben White.
But Klopp’s side had been dominated in the first half of the FA Cup tie here last month, yet still went on to win. It felt as if Arsenal needed a second while they held their stranglehold.
And in first-half injury-time, they blew it.
From a Ryan Gravenberch through-ball, Saliba thought he had successfully shepherded the ball back to Raya, only for Diaz to stick in a toe and deflect it in off a scrambling Gabriel.

It was a shambolic way to toss away such a richly-deserved lead.
At half-time, the shots on target count read 4-0 to the Arsenal, the scoreline 1-1.
Arteta sent on Jakub Kiwior in place of Oleksandr Zinchenko at the break.
But Liverpool started the second half with a spring in their step, pinning Arsenal back, and Curtis Jones curling a shot narrowly wide of the far post.
Arsenal rallied and an Odegaard shot almost deflected in off Konate, who was soon booked for holding back Havertz.
Klopp, his bench better stocked than of late, sent for the cavalry – Darwin Nunez, Andy Robertson and Harvey Elliott.

Havertz was tripped in the area by Alexis Mac Allister but Anthony Taylor said no and his mate in Stockley Park, David Coote, refused to over-rule.
Presumably, VAR are doing the ‘clear and obvious thing’ this week. Most weeks, they don’t and the spot-kick would have been given.
Still, it didn’t matter for long as Arsenal seized the lead again thanks to an extraordinary mix-up between Alisson and Van Dijk, both GOATs of their trade if you listen to Liverpool supporters.
Gabriel hoofed forward and Van Dijk was too casual in trying to shield the ball from Martinelli, as Alisson dashed off his line, missed his kick and presented the Brazilian with a tap-in.
Martinelli looked stunned to be hooked in favour of Leandro Trossard, a strange substitution from Arteta, made to look even worse when Saka went down injured and had to be replaced by Reiss Nelson.
Kiwior, somehow in a centre-forward position headed straight at Alisson when he could have killed the game and Nunez blazed wildly wide when he ought to have crossed.

Pochettino has overseen just 15 wins in 31 matches as manager despite spending around £435million in the summer.
Wolves’ win takes them above Chelsea in the table and following the loss some fans have called for a change, with some keen to appoint Terry – who is a youth coach at the club.
Some supporters have even called for the return of Mourinho for a third stint, with the ex-manager out of work following his sacking by Roma last month.

Arsenal had gone 1-0 up via Bukayo Saka’s 14th minute tap-in.
Liverpool pegged them back in more farcical circumstances on the stroke of half-time, when dilly-dallying by William Saliba allowed Luis Diaz to prod the ball in off Gabriel Magalhaes.
Alisson’s nightmare moment then allowed the Gunners to regain the lead.
Things then went from bad to worse for the visitors, with Ibrahima Konate receiving a second yellow card for pushing Kai Havertz.

Pochettino’s time at Chelsea goes from bad to worse as he sets unwanted record not seen at Stamford Bridge in 35 years

FANS turned the pressure up on Mauricio Pochettino after Chelsea’s 4-2 home humiliation against Wolves set a shocking record.Poch’s Blues slipped into the bottom half of the Prem after conceding four goals in successive league games for the first time since 1989.

The Argentinian apologised as Wolves completed a first league double over Chelsea since 1974-75 and added: “It is like everything is going wrong”.
But defender Thiago Silva’s wife Bella added to the turmoil by posting on Instagram afterwards: “It’s time to change. If you wait any longer it will be too late.”
Yet Chelsea had looked comfortable after Cole Palmer put them in front – only for Wolves’ Brazilian forward Matheus Cunha to notch a hat-trick.
And even though the defeat came after the Blues had won their four previous home Prem games, it highlighted their defensive woes.

Liverpool thumped Chelsea 4-1 at Anfield last Wednesday.

That was when Bobby Campbell’s Blues suffered a horror start to December 1989 – crashing  5-2 at home to Wimbledon, 4-2 away at QPR and 5-2 against Liverpool at Stamford Bridge.

He told BBC Sport: “We need to show more and the circumstances are difficult.
“We were good until Liverpool but after Liverpool and Wolves it is like everything is going wrong. We have been on a good run and we need to move on.”

“The fans were hurting today because they were supporting the team. It was tough, tough afternoon for everyone. The players, for us, the fans.
