    Todd Boehly flying in for Chelsea’s first cup final since his takeover after owner missed last seven matches

    TODD BOEHLY is flying in to watch Chelsea’s first cup final since he took over the club nearly two years ago.The American chairman has not been seen at a game since last month’s 1-0 win over Fulham at Stamford Bridge.

    But he will be at Wembley on Sunday, along with sidekick Behdad Eghbali, for the Carabao Cup Final against Liverpool.
    Chelsea could win their first silverware since Boehly and his associates from Clearlake Capital bought Chelsea for £4.25 billion in May 2022.
    Previous Chelsea owner, Russian Roman Abramovich, missed the club’s last seven visits to Wembley after failing to have his UK visa renewed.
    That includes the successful 2018 FA Cup Final – Chelsea’s most recent domestic cup triumph.

    Mauricio Pochettino is the fourth head coach appointed by Boehly during a turbulent time for the Blues which has seen them spend £1 billion on players.
    Chelsea finished 12th last season, thereby failing to qualify for European football this term.
    Winning on Sunday will put Chelsea into next season’s Europa Conference League.
    Boehly was absent from Chelsea’s 1-1 draw against champions Manchester City on the weekend, where Raheem Sterling scored against his old club.

    Class of ’92 draft in Man Utd legend’s son to kickstart Salford’s rise up League Two

    FORMER Premier League star Alex Bruce has joined Salford as a first-team coach.The son of Manchester United legend Steve, Bruce jnr is in the early stages of his coaching career.

    Bruce, 39, played for the likes of Hull, Ipswich and Leeds before hanging up his boots in 2022.
    He ended his career at Macclesfield before taking over the managerial reigns at the club, who are co-owned by Robbie Savage.
    Bruce leaves the Silkmen with the club fifth in the Northern Premier League – the seventh tier.
    The former defender previously coached alongside his dad while he was in charge of West Brom and will hold a similar role at the Peninsula Stadium.

    He is set to work under manager Karl Robinson, who has transformed Salford’s form since joining last month.
    The former MK Dons and Oxford manager was sent off 14 minutes into his first game but has steadied the ship after Salford plummeted down the League Two table.
    He is unbeaten in eight games in charge, winning four and drawing four, and Salford are now 19th, 16 points above the relegation zone.
    Salford co-owner Gary Neville handed over the running of the club to former United team-mate Nicky Butt, who was delighted by Robinson’s capture.

    Thomas Tuchel snubs Premier League club despite soon-to-be-axed Bayern Munich boss being desperate to return to England

    THOMAS TUCHEL is not interested in managing West Ham despite being desperate for a Premier League return.The outgoing Bayern Munich boss has unfinished business with English football having been sacked by Chelsea in September 2022.

    West Ham’s current boss David Moyes is out of contract at the end of this season and recent results have placed him under extra pressure.
    Some fans even want him out following a run of eight games without a win in which they have conceded 16 goals.
    Hammers’ chiefs are exploring possible options for a change of coach while remaining firmly behind Moyes for the immediate future.
    Tuchel will become a free agent in the summer after it was announced he will be leaving German champions Bayern at the end of this season.

    But sources close to the German say Tuchel will only entertain ideas to manage at the biggest clubs in England.
    Liverpool are losing head coach Jurgen Klopp this summer and with new people on the board at Manchester United, manager Erik ten Hag is facing an uncertain future.
    Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe is also under pressure with his team eighth in the Premier League despite the backing of Saudi billions.
    Tuchel managed Chelsea for a year and a half from January 2021 and won the Champions League and Club World Cup before helping the club through the most turbulent period in its history.

    Former Chelsea star Baba Rahman rushed to hospital after swallowing tongue in horror on-field collision

    CHELSEA’S former £22million flop Baba Rahman has been rushed to hospital – after swallowing his tongue in an on-field collision.The Ghana international, 29, joined the Blues from German side Augsburg in 2015.

    But he played just one season in West London, making 23 appearances, before being shipped out on a series of loans.
    Rahman spent the last two seasons in the Championship with Reading after spells with Schalke, Reims, Mallorca and PAOK.
    The left-back left Stamford Bridge for Greek Super League side PAOK in a permanent deal last summer.
    He was knocked unconscious in a sickening accident while playing for them on Wednesday night.

    Rahman clashed heads with Panathinaikos defender Georgios Vagiannidis and slumped to the turf before an ambulance rushed him to hospital.
    A PAOK spokesman said: “Baba lost consciousness after an aerial clash of heads, and his tongue was also twisted – with the player in real danger.
    “With the intervention of the doctors, however, the Ghanaian recovered and was then immediately taken to hospital.”
    Hosts Panathinaikos went on to win the Greek Cup semi-final on penalties after the tie ended 2-2 on aggregate.

    Rahman later took to social media to say he was no longer in danger.
    He wrote on X: “Hello, just wanted to thank everyone for their concern and well wishes in the last 12 or so hours.

    Tamale-born Rahman has won 51 caps for Ghana.

    Liverpool teen making own way in game with dad an ex-Premier League ace and grandad singer & champion in different sport

    THE SON of a former Premier League star is now following in his father’s footsteps after making his top-flight debut.Liverpool came from behind to beat Luton Town 4-1 at Anfield on Wednesday night.

    That result restored the Reds’ four point lead at the top of the table but it is also one that Jayden Danns will never forget.
    Boss Jurgen Klopp named the 18-year-old in his injury-hit squad for the very first time – and things got even better.
    Danns went on to make his senior bow as a substitute in the 89th-minute.
    Now, just like his 41-year-old dad Neil who played for both Blackburn Rovers and Birmingham City, he has now also appeared in the Premier League.

    Danns also has a somewhat-famous grandad – with Neil Snr a backing singer for the UK’s 1987 Eurovision Song Contest entry AND a European champion skateboarder.
    Neil Jnr – Jayden’s dad – once told The Bolton News: “He was a backing singer in the Eurovision Song Contest.
    “And he was European skateboard champion – so I don’t know why I’m so messed up!
    Liverpool-born Jayden signed for the Anfield side aged eight and has progressed right through their academy.

    He recently told the club’s website: “My long-term aim is to be the best player I can possibly be.
    “I don’t want to end my career and have any regrets where I could have worked harder. I’d rather just put all the work in and try to get as much as I can from it.

    Danns was obviously ecstatic after the full-time whistle at making his debut – and that led to a heartwarming moment on the pitch with the opposition manager.
    Klopp had a congratulatory hug for the youngster when Luton boss Rob Edwards walked over to the pair.
    Edwards, who played for the likes of Aston Villa, Wolves and Blackpool during his career, placed his hand on the shoulder of Danns while pointing at him and telling Klopp: “I played against his dad!”
    Neil came through the ranks at Blackburn and enjoyed loans with Blaclpool, Hartlepool and Colchester United before joining the Us permanently and helping them to promotion to the Championship.
    He left for Birmingham City in 2006 and went on to play for Crystal Palace, Leicester City, Bristol City, Huddersfield Town, Bolton Wanderers, Bury, Blackpool and Tranmere Rovers.

    He has since embarked on a career in coaching and was player-manager at Macclesfield FC, leading them to promotion to the Northern Premier League as champions.
    He left them to become assistant manager of his old side Tranmere Rovers, who are in League Two, last summer.

    LIVERPOOL star Cody Gakpo left fans in stitches after he “kicked the wrong ball”.The Reds came from behind to beat Luton 4-1, securing a huge three points in the battle for the title.

    Gakpo hit Liverpool’s second goal to put Jurgen Klopp’s side in front – but something else he struck got supporters laughing.
    Luis Diaz poked the ball towards the Dutchman as he was closed down by Amari’i Bell.
    The Luton defender got to the ball first and nudged it away from Gakpo.
    But he had already decided to unleash a shot and his wild swing ended up catching Bell near his private parts.

    Fans were left in stitches – but it was Bell who could’ve need stitches as he went down with a scream.
    One supporter joked: “He has kicked the wrong ball.”
    Bell soon jumped back up and soldiered on but was further bruised as Liverpool found their shooting boots in the second-half.
    Strikes from Virgil van Dijk, Gakpo, Luis Diaz and Harvey Elliott sealed the win.

    THOMAS TUCHEL is desperate for a Premier League return.Bayern Munich on Wednesday announced former Chelsea chief Tuchel will leave the German club at the end of this season.

    Manchester United and Newcastle could both be looking for a new manager soon.
    And Tuchel — who led the Blues to the Champions League title in 2021 — would be interested.
    Tuchel was shown the exit door at Stamford Bridge in September 2022 and has told friends how much he has missed managing in England.
    The 50-year-old is leaving Bayern after a torrid spell.

    The team have lost their last three games and are eight points behind leaders Bayer Leverkusen.
    Bayern will battle Liverpool for Leverkusen boss Xabi Alonso, who played for both clubs.
    Yet Tuchel only joined Bayern 11 months ago to replace Julian Nagelsmann and led the club to an 11th successive title.
    His contract was until 2025 but Bayern have struggled and — despite Harry Kane’s arrival — Sunday’s 3-2 loss at Bochum was another blow.

    In a dig at the players, Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen said: “Every individual at the club is called upon to achieve the maximum in the Champions League and Bundesliga.

    EVERTON have shown off stunning new aerial images of their £500million new stadium.But some fans are struggling to get excited, given their team’s current woes on and off the pitch.

    The Toffees’ new 52,888-seater stadium is set to open ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.
    And with just 18 months to go, the ground is really starting to take shape.
    In Everton’s latest video they showed off a number of different areas within the project.
    Fans were given a glimpse into the new home dressing room.

    While they were also shown the new west stand’s interior.
    Outside the stadium they will be able to enjoy a new fan plaza.
    And Everton confirmed that work has commenced on the northern half of the western terrace.
    Despite the stunning new drone footage, some fans are understandably struggling to remain upbeat.

    The Toffees were hit with a 10-point deduction back in November for breaching FFP rules.

    While a third despondently posted: “Imagine this stadium in the championship.”
