IT IS HIGHLY unlikely that Mauricio Pochettino is familiar with the work of Rumi.
Whether the renowned Islamic poet and mystic had the tactical dilemmas facing Chelsea’s head coach in mind while dreaming up his scholarly works in 13th century Afghanistan, we will never know.
It’s fair to say Rumi was not a regular in The Shed at Stamford Bridge.
Yet one of his most famous quotations strikes right at the heart of Pochettino’s problems trying to transform his team into consistent challengers at the top end of the Premier League.
It was Rumi who wrote so prophetically: “Two birds tied together. They will not be able to fly even though they have four wings.”
He could have scribbled that on the back of his programme from so many of Chelsea’s games this season with regard to Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez.
There is a feeling among regular Chelsea watchers that while it is a blow on a personal level for Fernandez to be ruled out for the rest of the season with his injury problem, it may yet turn to Pochettino’s advantage.
For it allows Caicedo to roam that patch in front of his defence with greater freedom. Both players are exceptional individual talents.

Nottingham Forest SUE Sky Sports over Gary Neville’s ‘mafia gang’ comments in now-deleted post

NOTTINGHAM FOREST have launched legal action against Sky Sports after the broadcaster’s coverage of a social media post questioning a match official’s appointment, according to reports. It comes after Sky pundit Gary Neville slammed the club for their statement criticising the PGMOL in the wake of their 2-0 defeat to Everton.Gary Neville’s comments have allegedly led to Forest launching legal action against Sky SportsCredit: ReutersAfter the final whistle, Forest’s official Twitter account posted: “Three extremely poor decisions – three penalties not given – which we simply cannot accept.“We warned the PGMOL that the VAR is a Luton fan before the game but they didn’t change him. He should stand down tonight and distance himself from that statement.“It’s like a mafia-gang statement. I mean, honestly, what the hell are they playing at? I thought that after the statement that Nottingham Forest made, I don’t think any of us ask for people to resign.“We don’t do that, we’re obviously critical at times because that’s the job we’re in. Kai Havertz awkwardly made to watch controversial Arsenal penalty on live TV after Bournemouth boss claims he ‘dived’

BOURNEMOUTH were unlucky after two big decisions went against them at Arsenal.
Cherries boss Andoni Iraola was incensed by the first-half penalty awarded to the Gunners as well as Antoine Semenyo’s goal being ruled out by VAR Peter Bankes.
For Bukayo Saka’s spot-kick, visiting keeper Mark Travers ran the risk by sticking his leg out but Kai Havertz initiated the contact and referee David Coote pointed to the spot.
From Coote’s angle, it looked like a penalty and it was not a clear and obvious error so VAR did not get involved. Had Coote not given the spot-kick, VAR would not have intervened to overrule it.
Bournemouth’s disallowed goal was a subjective decision but I didn’t think there was enough contact by Dominic Solanke on Arsenal keeper David Raya in the build-up to rule out Semenyo’s strike.
I’ve seen goals given when there has been more contact than Solanke on Raya this season.
In fact, there was even more contact from William Saliba on Philip Billing seconds before and the visitors could have had a penalty.
Ryan Christie was lucky to escape a red card for serious foul play on Bukayo Saka in the first half. The Cherries midfielder was high and endangered the safety of Arsenal winger Saka. I was surprised VAR Bankes did not recommend a review for Coote.

As he gave a post-match interview to TNT Sports, Havertz was asked to comment on the penalty incident. And as he declared he had not seen the replay, slow-motion footage of the moment appeared on the screen in front of him.Arsenal star Leandro Trossard leaves Hollywood actress Anne Hathaway ‘shaking’ with excitement after live TV messageHavertz said: “I haven’t seen the replay… but I think he touches me.”As the replay was shown on screen, pundit Joe Cole commented: “You see it closely from this angle, he commits and there, the contact, I think it’s a pen. “You’re a clever player, he’s left himself exposed.”Havertz added: “I felt the contact and went down, that’s why. For me it’s a penalty and I said to the goalie as well ‘you touched me’.I felt the contact and went down, that’s why.Kai Havertz“I think he understood on the pitch as well so maybe it’s not that clear but I think you can give it for sure.”Fans appeared to agree with Iraola’s verdict that it was a dive. One said: “Glad he managed to stay on his feet for the whole of the interview.”Another declared: “Dangled and waited.”READ MORE SUN STORIESOne noted: “Geezer took a massive dive.”Another added: “Nice dive bro.”Meet the Arsenal Wags from Strictly star to a flight attendant
