    The main men
Two of the contenders for player of the season are involved in this North London derby.
Martin Odegaard has been absolutely sensational, and was rewarded with the Premier League player of the month award for December.
But someone who always has a say in this fixture is Harry Kane, with the English strikers performances going somewhat under the radar due to Erling Haaland’s goal scoring exploits…
This is how the two key men match up against each other today in terms of stats.
Harry Kane and Martin Odegaard have been sensational so far this season.
    Conte on Arsenal clash
Antonio Conte knows the importance of a victory in today’s North London derby.
“Arsenal are doing very well,” he said.
“Now they have to show they can stay there until the end of the season because I’m sure Manchester City doesn’t agree and will feel the real possibility to win again, especially because Liverpool already lost a lot of points – the same for Chelsea and Manchester United. It is a battle between Arsenal and Manchester City.
“You are in that moment the best team in the league. For this reason, everybody wants to beat you.
“For sure, Arsenal has to face this situation [as] favourites to win the league. They have to show they are good to face this type of situation.”
    Mudryk hijack
Arsenal will be focussed on Spurs today – but one thing that will be on manager Arteta’s mind is Mykhaylo Mudryk’s transfer to Chelsea.
The Gunners were on the verge of agreeing a deal with Shakhtar for the 22-year-old winger.
But Chelsea ghosted in at the 11th-hour to secure a deal with the Ukrainian team on Saturday night.
And today, Mudryk was confirmed as Chelsea’s new player, having signed an eight-and-a-half year contract for £88m.

    Arteta on Spurs
Arsenal can go eight points clear today with a win.
“The way that we have performed and the results that got confidence-wise has put us in a good position,” he said ahead of the game.
“But that is something that you have to show every match and every opponent, especially every away game brings challenges and this is no different.
“We are going to have to go there, play our way and win the match.”
    Tottenham XI
Lloris, Doherty, Romero, Dier, Lenglet, Sessegnon, Hojbjerg, Sarr, Kulusevski, Son, Kane

    Arsenal XI
Ramsdale, White, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko, Partery Xhaka, Odegaard, Saka, Martinelli, Nketiah

That’s all from us, good night!
That is all from us tonight on an action packed day of Premier League football, which saw Arsenal get the better of North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur, and move eight points clear at the top of the Premier League table.
There were two other Premier League games on today, and the results were as follows:

    Newcastle United 1-0 Fulham
    Chelsea 1-0 Crystal Palace

Thank you as always for reading, it has been a pleasure, and I hope to see you again soon.
    Good night!
    Still to come…
Arsenal may be eight points clear at the top of the table tonight, but the rest of the Premier League will know all to well that this season is far from over.
Manchester United and Manchester City are now both chasing the London club, with Newcastle also after the leaders.
They face two of those teams in their next four games, which could be crucial in deciding if they do in fact end up Premier League champions in the summer.
Arsenal’s next four opponents in the Premier League.
    Post-match commotion
Aaron Ramsdale explained post match what happened after the game, as he was KICKED by a Spurs fan when he went to get his gloves and bottle, here is what happened:
After the full-time whistle went, Ramsdale kicked the ball away and kissed the Arsenal badge on his shirt, and ‘gave some’ to the Spurs fans behind his goal.
Richarlison then came over to confront him for doing so, and Ramsdale walked off to get his water bottle and gloves while the Brazilian continued to remonstrate with him, and pushed Ramsdale in the face.
When picking up his bottle, a Tottenham fan jumped onto the advertising board and booted Ramsdale in the back.
Needless to say that the fan in question should be banned from ever entering the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium again, and we expect to hear more about it in the coming days…

    Man of the match
There is only one man it can go to, and that man is Aaron Ramsdale.
The English shot-stopper was brilliant in goal today, and made seven saves, a record which he has only bettered in one Premier League game.
He made two brilliant saves in particular, from Sessegnon and Son, as well as a few from Harry Kane.

    Eight points clear
Arsenal move eight points clear at the top of the Premier League, and Spurs drop down to fifth in the table.
A first North London Derby win for Arsenal away at Tottenham since March 2014, when Mikel Arteta was captain.
Not a very good day for Hugo Lloris in the Arsenal net, whose wrists crumpled like a discarded crisp packet for the first goal.
That was before Martin Odegaard rattled home a screamer from 25-yards to double the scoring.
There was something of an onslaught early in the second half from Spurs, but Arsenal did well to weather the storm and see the game out.
There was plenty of commotion at the end of the game, as a fan looked to attack Aaron Ramsdale, after Richarlison caused a scene with the English goalkeeper.
    FT. Tottenham Hotspur 0-2 Arsenal
That is all she wrote at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
And it all kicks off at full time, with a fight involving Richarlison, Ramsdale and a fan who appears to attack Aaron Ramsdale when he picks up his gloves.
    90+4. Tottenham Hotspur 0-2 Arsenal
Smith-Rowe and Fabio Vieira are on for Arsenal.
They are replacing Eddie Nketiah and Martin Odegaard.
    90+2. Tottenham Hotspur 0-2 Arsenal
Gabriel picks up a yellow card for time wasting.
    90. Tottenham Hotspur 0-2 Arsenal
There will be five minutes of added time here.
A double change for Spurs, but it looks like all hope is lost.
Bryan Gil and Ben Davies are on for Clement Lenglet and Dejan Kulusevski.
    88. Tottenham Hotspur 0-2 Arsenal
Spurs get a free kick on the edge of the box, and it will be Heung Min-Son who lines it up.
He fires it straight into the wall.
    86. Tottenham Hotspur 0-2 Arsenal
The corner is whipped in by Perisic, but to not avail.
Spurs continue to put the pressure on, which is answered by an Arsenal substitute.
Tomiyasu is on for Oleksandr Zinchenko.
    84. Tottenham Hotspur 0-2 Arsenal
Kane does well to escape Gabriel on the right hand side, and he hooks the ball back to Heung Min-Son in the middle.
Son’s shot is over the bar after a deflection, which sees Tottenham gain a corner.
    82. Tottenham Hotspur 0-2 Arsenal
Gabriel fouls Richarlison on the right hand side of the pitch, and Son crosses in the resulting free-kick which is stopped by Ramsdale.
Spurs continue to pen Arsenal into their own box, and they can’t clear it, but Ramsdale keeps the score at 0-2.
    80. Tottenham Hotspur 0-2 Arsenal
Just 10 minutes to go, and it is looking like Arsenal will be eight points clear of Manchester City just before the halfway point in the season.
This game represented a real chance for Tottenham to get one over their North London rivals, but that chance is looking very, very slim.
    78. Tottenham Hotspur 0-2 Arsenal
A free-kick on the edge of the box for Arsenal.
Given away by Cristian Romero, who is very fortunate to still be on the pitch.
It is Xhaka who will take it.
    Over the bar…
    76. Tottenham Hotspur 0-2 Arsenal
Ivan Perisic comes on in replacement of Ryan Sessegnon.
Yves Bissouma is also on for Pape Matar Sarr.
    74. Tottenham Hotspur 0-2 Arsenal
This is looking like game over now.
Arsenal have done so well to keep Spurs quiet after that early second-half onslaught from The Lilywhites.
The Gunners really do look like a title winning side this season.
    72. Tottenham Hotspur 0-2 Arsenal
Richarlison is on in place of Matt Doherty, and Cristian Romero has moved to right back to mark Gabriel Martinelli…
Clement Lenglet gets a yellow card for a tackle on Martin Odegaard.
    70. Tottenham Hotspur 0-2 Arsenal
    Chance for Arsenal!
A great ball from Granit Xhaka finds Eddie Nketiah in the middle.
He takes a good first touch but his finish is a little off and Lloris closes down the space to make the save.
Martinelli gets a yellow card, for a foul on Pape Matar Sarr.
    67. Tottenham Hotspur 0-2 Arsenal
Partey has a go from distance, put this one is not quite like his brilliant effort in the first half.
This one flails wide of the right-hand side of the post.
    64. Tottenham Hotspur 0-2 Arsenal
It feels like Arsenal have got through that tough period of early Spurs pressure, and they have coped with it really well.
Spurs are really lacking that final ball, and while typing that Hojbjerg hooks a ball out of play.
Kane reacts by throwing his hands up in the air.
    Not happy.
    62. Tottenham Hotspur 0-2 Arsenal
Kulusevski goes down holding his head as play is stopped, he is just lacking that final ball in the second half so far.
He is okay, and Spurs play on.
    60. Tottenham Hotspur 0-2 Arsenal
Kulusevski picks the ball up on the right hand side again, and looks for Heung Min-Son this time, but it is weak, and cut out by Arsenal.
    58. Tottenham Hotspur 0-2 Arsenal
    A half-chance for Eddie Nketiah.
He takes a great touch inside the box, but his shot is into the arms of Hugo Lloris.
Cristian Romero is lucky to escape a second yellow card after a late challenge on Granit Xhaka.
    56. Tottenham Hotspur 0-2 Arsenal
Spurs have certainly improved in the second half, as Kulusevski whips a ball in towards the back post.
Closer for Spurs, but not close enough.

But he looked in agony as he left the pitch at half-time and broke down in tears before being consoled by Joelinton and Sean Longstaff.
Unfortunately for Toon the 25-year-old was unable to continue and he was replaced at the break by Allan Saint-Maximin.
Guimaraes rolled his ankle but received extra strapping and was initially able to play on.
But he was not moving comfortably and the decision was made to take him off with Newcastle searching for the opening goal of the game.

It is a big blow for Newcastle as the former Lyon player has been key to Eddie Howe’s side since signing last January.
He contributes in attack and defence and also expressed a lot of passion on the pitch – he recently celebrated a slide tackle as if it was a goal in a recent win over Leicester.
If the injury is serious Newcastle could turn to the transfer market to find a replacement.
They have been linked with a move for Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves, whose contract expires at the end of the season.
