Joleon Lescott ‘left Old Trafford on a STRETCHER’ jokes Rio Ferdinand after Man Utd’s shock win over City

RIO FERDINAND took a cheeky swipe at Joleon Lescott after Manchester United’s controversial comeback win over Manchester City.City took the lead through Jack Grealish before Marcus Rashford scored a late winner after his involvement in Bruno Fernandes’ debatable equaliser.
Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand trolled Manchester City hero Joleon Lescott
United legend Ferdinand provided punditry for BT Sport alongside former rival Lescott, who won two Premier League titles during his time at the Etihad.
The two former England internationals met before kick-off and had a conversation which was recorded by the ex-Red Devils captain.
And the City hero seemed quite cocky, something his fellow legendary defender didn’t appreciate.
Ferdinand said: “Look at this guy, he loves it.

“I don’t like the way you’re walking about swaggering. Your swagger is too much.”
Lescott cheekily responded: “Feels like home this, feels like home.”
But the former centre-back’s words aged poorly as United delivered a hammer blow to City’s title chances at Old Trafford.
Ferdinand didn’t forget Lescott’s cockiness and posted their chat on Instagram in a compilation video after Erik ten Hag’s men completed their triumphant comeback.

And the 44-year-old joked that his former rival needed a “stretcher” after his favourite team’s heartbreaking loss.
Ferdinand issued the following caption: “Came bouncing into Old Trafford… left on a stretcher 😂😂😂 @joleonlescott 🔴🔴🔴.”
Ferdinand also included clips of him celebrating alongside former team-mate Paul Scholes while backstage .
Lescott was also present but was fuming with United turning the game on its head within just four minutes.
An ecstatic Ferdinand yelled: “It’s a goal, we scored United yeah.”
He then panned the camera to Lescott, adding: “Go on Jole, go on Joleon.”
The City hero then argued the equaliser should not have stood due to the interference from Rashford.

The England international complimented captain Jorginho well.
Gallagher showed his class in and out of possession, while showcasing his ability to drive the ball up the pitch.

Got a nasty kick or two too, but carried on much to the distaste of the travelling Palace fans who once loved him.
Contract rebel Mason Mount, meanwhile, struggled again for Chelsea.
The 24-year-old is out of contract next summer and is said to want a new deal worth around £300,000-a-week.
But he showed little as to why he deserves such a large sum.

    Kepa – 8
Fantastic save in the 19th minute to deny Michael Olise’s well-struck volley.
Denied Palace again at the end of the first half with a smart reactionary save at his near post from a corner.
Was called into action late on in the second half and again denied the visitors.
    Trevoh Chalobah – 5
Was the more defensive of the two full-backs.
Did his job defensively, but offered very little going forward for the Blues.
    Thiago Silva – 6
Nearly handed Chelsea the lead in the 23rd minute with a sweet volley heading for the far corner but was denied by the Palace goalkeeper
    Benoit Badiashile – 6
Caught out of position for Olie’s first half chance.
Not a bad debut, though. Looked good alongside Rolls Royce Silva.
    Lewis Hall – 6
Nervy opening half an hour from the Chelsea youngster. Ran himself into trouble at times and lost duels to Olise.
Got better as the half went on and left Olise eating grass with a silky turn before winning a corner.
Sent a shot agonisingly wide of the post just before half-time.
Teed up Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the second half before being subbed in the 76th minute.
    Jorginho – 7
Captained the Blues. Was his usual assured self.
Swept up well and kept the ball ticking in the middle of the park for his team.
    Conor Gallagher – 8
Chelsea’s star of the first half; crisp passing, energy in the midfield, driving runs.
Started the second half well, feeding a good ball into Havertz, who then sent a shot straight at the keeper.
Continued to buzz around and get stuck in.
    Carney Chukwuemeka – 5
Showed some good work down the channel with Hall, but ultimately struggled to make an impact.
Was taken off just after the hour mark and replaced by Aubameyang.
    Hakim Ziyech – 6
Had an effort tipped over the bar just before the referee brought the opening 45 to a close.
Got the assist for Havertz’s opener with a wicked cross into Palace’s box.
    Kai Havertz – 6
Had a golden opportunity to head Chelsea ahead on the half-hour mark, but his effort landed on the roof of the net.
Opened the scoring with a well placed header after 60 minutes.
    Mason Mount – 5
The England international struggled to get into the game but stayed on the pitch until the end.
Rather low energy, the opposite of what is expected from him.

    Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (for Chukwuemeka, 62 mins) – 7
Showed some good running in behind Chelsea’s backline after coming on.

Arsenal had been leading the race to sign Mudryk but refused to meet Shakhtar Donetsk’s asking price.
They rejected two bids from the Gunners before agreeing a deal with Chelsea, leading one fan to poke fun at Gooner Woods.
The supporter lorded Mudryk’s capture over the talkSPORT presenter and suggested it was a sign Chelsea are a bigger club than Arsenal.
Woods replied saying: “No that’s called cash. But bless you.”

The fan claimed he was just having banter over the fact Chelsea hijacked the deal – but Woods once again put him in his place by responding with banter of her own.
She wrote: “Ohh, well that’s cute. I’ve got some too, you’re still 11th x.”
The fan took the banter in good jest and revealed he was just happy to have had the exchange with the radio and TV presenter.

“Why did I want to share his story? It made me feel a certain way. It made me feel shocked and a bit guilty because I didn’t know.
“And it also made me feel sad that someone would want to hide a part of themselves away, especially something like a disability.

However, the goal was ruled out after the ball took a deflection off of his standing foot.
Under IFAB Law 14, which details penalty kicks, the rules state that an offence is deemed to have occurred if: “the kicker touches the ball again before it has touched another player.”
Therefore, the Serbian’s double touch from the spot had to be ruled out by referee Robert Jones.
Fans online were quick to react to the bizarre incident.

The Hammers haven’t won any of their last eight Premier League matches, of which they have only managed two points, and dropped to the relegation zone after Saturday’s 1-0 loss at Wolves.
According to the Telegraph, the East Londoners prefer to give Moyes more time due to his superb work ever since his return in 2019 as he guided them out of relegation struggle and into Europe.
However, Saturday’s showdown against fellow strugglers Everton at the London Stadium will be crucial for the 59-year-old’s future.
That is why West Ham chiefs are already thinking ahead and have come with four potential replacements for the dugout.

Tuchel and Pochettino pose as the hierarchy’s biggest challenges in their search for long-term appointments.
But the powers that be feel like both the ex-Chelsea boss and the former Tottenham manager are currently out of reach.
That is why West Ham are also considering short-term appointments to guide them out of the danger zone.
The two other options are former Liverpool, Newcastle, Chelsea and Everton manager Rafa Benitez as well as ex-Wolves and Tottenham boss Nuno Espirito Santo.
