United swooped to complete a shock loan move for Weghorst from Burnley earlier this month.

Despite the famous No7 shirt being available following the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo, Weghorst will have No27 on his back for United.
The 30-year-old bagged just two goals in 20 Prem outings for Burnley last term, before netting nine in 18 for Besiktas during the first half of this campaign.

“I have been following him for a long time, all through his career.
“I have known him since he was 16 and everywhere he has been he has surprised.

Arsenal star William Saliba out for revenge on Man Utd – the only team to beat Prem leaders in the league this season

WILLIAM SALIBA is out for revenge against Manchester United – who remain the only team to beat table-topping Arsenal in the Premier League this season.Marcus Rashford hit a double as Erik ten Hag’s Red Devils won 3-1 against Saliba’s Gunners at Old Trafford in early September.

Mikel Arteta’s side responded brilliantly by winning ten and drawing two of their next 12 Prem games, with the latest victory coming at rivals Tottenham on Sunday.
But Ten Hag’s men have also gone from strength to strength in recent months, winning their last nine on the trot in all competitions.
French star Saliba said: “We know we have a big game next week.
“We know they beat us. They are the only team to beat us this season in the Premier League and we want to beat them again at home.
    READ MORE ARSENAL NEWS
“We will prepare this game very good I think, and I hope we will win in front of our fans.”
Sunday’s clash at the Emirates is all set up to be one of the most exciting matches between the two juggernauts since the Noughties.

Those were the days when Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal and Sir Alex Ferguson’s United were slugging it out for the title.
Arsenal’s victory at Spurs put them eight points clear at the top of the table – indeed they have dropped just SEVEN all season.

But Ten Hag’s in-form side could be within six of Arteta’s side if they beat Crystal Palace on Wednesday and could even cut that gap down to three with a victory next weekend.
Arsenal are in the driving seat, however, but Arteta says they will have to remain “almost perfect” if they are to win the title and is targeting at least 90 points to achieve it.
Centre-back Saliba has been a huge part of their success so far, having returned from a hat-trick of loans back to France at the end of last season.
The 21-year-old admitted he could never have expected the Gunners to be so clear at the top at the stage.
Yet he did get the feeling there was something happening here during pre-season.
The defender, who scooped the Ligue 1 young player of the year award last term while farmed out to Marseille, said: “When I came here of course we wanted to be in the lead.
“But I didn’t imagine we are where we are in January.
“But after the summer, when I saw the team and the mentality, I told myself: ‘Yeah, we can do something this season’.”
Arsenal have a young side with the likes of Bukayo Saka, 21, Martin Odegaard, 24, and Gabriel Martinelli, 21, all key players.

They did bring in two players who had won the Premier League title four times in the last five years in Oleksandr Zinchenko and Gabriel Jesus, who is currently injured.
But apart from that pair it is a relatively inexperienced squad that Arteta has flying high.
Some teams may feel the heat of leading the division – as Kevin Keegan’s Newcastle famously did when blowing a 12-point lead in 1996.
Yet Saliba said: “It’s better to have this pressure when you are at the top than when you are down at the bottom. It’s better to keep going like this and we don’t have to have pressure.
“(The eight-point lead) is never enough. We know we have a lot of games to go.
After the summer, when I saw the team and the mentality, I told myself: ‘Yeah, we can do something this season’William Saliba
“We have to be focused because things can change quickly.
“If we lose one game, after we can have no confidence, so we have to be focused on keeping going and trying to win. We focus on ourselves.”
Arsenal are currently trying to tie Saliba down to a new contract.
His present terms expire at the end of next season, after the Gunners activated a one-year option on his deal last term.

Asked if games like Sunday’s North London derby victory could help persuade him to extend his stay, Saliba replied: “Yeah, of course!
“The club is speaking with my agent and me, the only thing I can do is [focus on my football]. I am so happy here.” More

Solly March harnesses the power of ‘De Zerbi ball’ to claim his third Dream Team Star Man award in five games

BRIGHTON fans would have been quick to notice that Graham Potter’s Chelsea, with their seemingly endless supply of cash for new transfers, are currently three places below the Seagulls in the table.Roberto De Zerbi’s first game as a manager on English shores was the enthralling 3-3 draw with Liverpool back in October, in which Leandro Trossard (£4.3m) scored a hat-trick.
It’s a measure of the Italian’s progression on the south coast that his most recent game was the reverse fixture with Brighton beating Jurgen Klopp’s side 3-0 on Saturday – and the Belgium international who ran riot at Anfield was nowhere to be seen having fallen out with De Zerbi.
Instead, it was Solly March (£2.3m) who played the role of Liverpool’s tormentor.
Whereas Trossard evidently doesn’t see eye to eye with the ex-Sassuolo tactician, Brighton’s No7 is thriving under the new regime.
    Man of the momentCredit: getty
March scored two goals in the space of six minutes at the start of the second half to put his side firmly in the ascendancy against Liverpool before providing the assist for Danny Welbeck’s (£2.8m) cherry-on-top.
The 28-year-old’s performance continues a rare purple patch in terms of attacking returns – he’s now registered four goals and three assists in his last five games.
And from a Dream Team perspective, this fruitful run has also produced three Star Man awards.
All things considered, March has added 52 points to his tally over the last four Game Weeks, making him one of the most in-form players since the restart.
Bearing in mind he mustered just 17 points from the first 14 Game Weeks of the season, this dramatic uplift has caught Dream Team gaffers unaware.

At the time of writing, March appears in just 0.5% of teams but his ownership will surely rise after his eye-catching 20-point haul against Liverpool.
Brighton have scored six goals in two games against Liverpool this seasonCredit: getty
March has fulfilled several different roles during his decade on the south coast but Premier League viewers will have seen him play predominantly as a left wing-back under Potter.
Right now, De Zerbi is deploying him as a right winger with unexpectedly profitable results.
More broadly, De Zerbi deserves huge credit for answering the one criticism of Brighton in recent years.
Potter’s reign on the south coast was mightily impressive but supporters were often frustrated at their team’s inability to convert possession and territory into goals.
Under De Zerbi, Brighton are averaging 2.13 goals per game – that figure increases to 2.83 when considering just the games since the conclusion of the World Cup.
Sure, they don’t keep as many clean sheets as they used to but they’re bold and dynamic.
More importantly, the Seagulls continue to punch above their weight in the league table – they’re currently one point behind sixth-placed Fulham with two games in hand.
Taken to English football like a duck to water
Just a few weeks ago it would have been unthinkable that De Zerbi could discard a player of Trossard’s ability and not see negative repercussions on the pitch but the performances and the results speak for themselves.
    Read More on The Sun
If the players continue to share the coach’s vision and play to his instructions as closely as March is currently then the club will have a great chance of qualifying for European football for the first time in their history.
Dream Team bosses would do well to take note of March’s returns at the very least, he’s comfortably the cheapest asset currently residing within the top 20 midfielders. More

Richarlison pushed Ramsdale’s head after the goalkeeper celebrated the 2-0 win in front of the home supporters.
Ramsdale then went to pick up his water bottle and was KICKED by a Tottenham fan, who made a quick escape.
But the Brazilian was still aggrieved with the Gunners No1 after the game, telling ESPN Brasil: “What I really didn’t like was their goalkeeper going to celebrate in front of our fans.
“It’s kind of disrespectful to our fans, he has their fans, he has to go celebrate with their fans, not be cute with our fans.”

Richarlison also had a touchline spat with Arsenal defender Takehiro Tomiyasu as he warmed up before coming on.
The Japanese defender was spotted putting his arm across Richarlison, who then angrily pulled it away.
Richarlison, 25, even had a run in with Gabriel Martinelli and he revealed why his Brazil team-mate upset him.
The Spurs forward added: “It was a foul there that the referee ended up giving, we were close to the move, in my opinion it wasn’t, I told him he was diving a lot, so I didn’t shake his hand.

“I’m apologising to him. Like it or not, he’s my team-mate. It’s part of the game, it’s a derby, we were hot headed.”
Richarlison also had an issue with another one of his compatriots, Gunners defender Gabriel.
He explained: “With Gabriel [Magalhaes], we argued a little because I wanted to get on with the game.
