Incredible stats reveal Man Utd revival as they already have more wins & clean sheets than WHOLE of last season

MANCHESTER UNITED have already won more games under Erik ten Hag than they managed in the WHOLE of last season. The Dutchman inherited a Red Devils team that had secured their worst ever Premier League points tally.

Things got off to a rocky start, with United beginning the campaign with a 2-1 home defeat by Brighton and 4-0 humiliation at Brentford.
But methodical Ten Hag, 52, has set about transforming the culture at Old Trafford.
Saturday’s 2-1 victory over Manchester City took the Red Devils to within one point of the reigning Prem champions in the table.
The triumph was United’s 21st win in 29 games in all competitions this campaign – more than they managed during the entirety of last season.

Under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and then Ralf Rangnick, United won a paltry 20 matches out of 48 last season in all competitions.
They went trophyless, while achieving their worst ever points tally in a Prem season (58).
Having bagged 49 goals by the season’s halfway point, United are well on their way to beating last season’s total of 71.
Ten Hag has also tightened up his side’s previously leaky defence.

United kept just ten clean sheets in 48 matches last term.
This time around they have already managed 12 in 29.
Man United legend Gary Neville is “mesmerised” by what Ten Hag has done with his former club.
Speaking on Sky Sports, he said: “I thought it was a risk at the time when I heard that story, you know what players are like and there was the spirit at the time.
“I’m mesmerised by the job Ten Hag has done. If you’d have said to me four months ago this is where Man Utd will be, I’d have said no chance.
I thought they were absolutely nowhere nearGary Neville
“I’d have said they’re finishing halfway down the table, the way they were.
“Coming off the back of last season, the start of this season, I thought they were absolutely nowhere near.
“I thought they overpaid for Antony, I thought they overpaid for Casemiro. It looked like the usual Man Utd panic.
“So it’s worth noting in moments like this that we shouldn’t go too far, but the job the manager has done not only on the pitch but with the players, how he’s brought them together and that spirit, the way he’s dealt with big situations.”

Under-fire West Ham boss Moyes REJECTED chance to sign Man City striker and World Cup winner Alvarez from River Plate

UNDER-FIRE West Ham boss David Moyes TURNED DOWN Julian Alvarez while he was at River Plate due to Michail Antonio’s red-hot form.Moyes revealed he had the chance to sign Manchester City striker Alvarez before he joined the Sky Blues a year ago.

Alvarez was brought to the Scotsman’s attention by a scout and Moyes has admitted he liked what he saw.
But Antonio’s ruthless streak in front of goal saw Moyes pass up on the opportunity to sign Alvarez – a fatal mistake that could’ve changed the trajectory of his West Ham tenure.
Antonio led the line for the Hammers on his own for the best part of 18 months but Moyes’ men gassed out in 2022, limping over the finishing line in seventh, as well as losing a Europa League semi-final to Eintracht Frankfurt.
Moyes told the Diary of a CEO podcast: “I think it’s the ones I’ve missed, the ones where you say ‘Nah, I don’t think he’s quite good enough.’ I’ve had hundreds of them.

“Just recently, because we’ve been talking about it, Alvarez who has just played for Argentina in the World Cup, I bought in a new scout who says ‘Look, you should go for Alvarez at River Plate’.
“I watched him and I thought he was a very good technician and done so many good things as a centre forward but I thought [he’s] maybe not quite the one we want, we had Micky Antonio who had been doing very well and I thought I don’t know.
“You see sometimes the players change in six months but I have to say there are other players like that who you don’t take and don’t go on to be a real success, but that one at the moment is just one where probably because it was only a year ago where I decided ‘Nah, he’s not one I’m going to take’.”
Fast forward a year and Alvarez is a World Cup winner, starring alongside Lionel Messi in Qatar last November-December.

Alvarez netted four goals at the winter tournament, helping the South American country claim their third-ever world crown.
The 22-year-old is also at Premier League title-chasing City, where he effectively plays back-up to star man Erling Halaand.
And despite playing limited minutes, Alvarez has eight goals across all competitions so far this season.

West Ham, meanwhile, sit in the relegation zone on 15 points from 19 games.
The East London club’s last league win came in October against Bournemouth.
And David Moyes is on thin ice as he struggles to change his team’s fortunes.
It is believed the under-fire Hammers boss is now operating on a match-by-match basis and potential replacements are NOW being looked at.

Watch moment Richarlison REFUSES to shake Arsenal star Martinelli’s hand in fiery North London derby

THIS WAS the awkward moment that Richarlison REFUSED to shake his Brazilian team-mate Gabriel Martinelli’s hand in the fiery North London derby. The two stars were in the same squad last month before their World Cup dreams were ended by Croatia.

However, they were on opposite sides yesterday as Arsenal clinched a 2-0 win at Tottenham to move eight points clear at the top of the Premier League.
Midway through the match, substitute Richarlison was warming up near the corner flag when his compatriot went over to take a set-piece nearby.
Spotting the forward next to him, Martinelli offered out his hand for Richarlison to shake – but the former Everton man point-blank refused, leading to cheers from supporters nearby.
Meanwhile, an eagle-eyed fan also spotted an off-field spat between Richarlison and Arsenal’s Takehiro Tomiyasu on the touchline earlier in the game.

Tomiyasu put his arm across Richarlison, who then angrily pulled it away, as the pair warmed-up ready for action.
Despite not starting, it was a busy afternoon for the Spurs sub, who got on towards the end of the clash.
Aaron Ramsdale, who was sickeningly kicked by a Spurs fan, bickered with opponent Richarlison at the end of the game and the forward angrily pushed the keeper in the side of the head.
As a steward led the England international away to the edge of the pitch, a supporter climbed over the barricade in the Tottenham section and kicked the shot-stopper.

The trouble started brewing when Ramsdale turned to celebrate towards the fans that had been giving him stick after the final whistle.
Richarlison then went over to the keeper before his temper got the better of him and he started pushing him in the head.
Ramsdale marches away and goes to grab his water bottle from behind the goal, but as he is bent over, the fan swoops in to attack.
Missed by stewards, the idiot steps over the hoarding and kicks out at the goalie.
A steward then pushes the spectator away before the culprit scurries back up into the stand and the crowd while trying to cover his face with a scarf.
Players from both sides then ran over to try and diffuse the tense situation, although several squared up to one another.
Richarlison would later slam Ramsdale as “disrespectful”, saying: “What I really didn’t like was their goalkeeper going to celebrate in front of our fans.
“It’s kind of disrespectful to our fans, he has their fans, he has to go celebrate with their fans, not be cute with our fans.”

And on the incident with Martinelli, he added: “It was a foul there that the referee ended up giving, we were close to the move, in my opinion it wasn’t, I told him he was diving a lot, so I didn’t shake his hand.
“I’m apologising to him. Like it or not, he’s my team-mate. It’s part of the game, it’s a derby, we were hot headed.” More
