Beckham was in attendance once again to watch Brentford B take on Huddersfield Town B at St. George’s Park.
Romeo, 20, played 30 minutes as a second-half substitute in the Premier League Cup tie as his parents battled the bitter cold from the stands.

Romeo also featured in Brentford B’s 3-2 win over Aston Villa in front of sister Harper and his dad.

Mikel Arteta reveals how Man Utd legend Sir Alex Ferguson has helped inspire Arsenal’s Prem title charge ahead of clash

MIKEL ARTETA has revealed how Sir Alex Ferguson helped fire Arsenal’s title charge. The Gunners boss says he was inspired by Fergie’s “brutal honesty” when the Scottish legend was Manchester United manager.

Arsenal’s 8-2 humiliation at Old Trafford in 2011 even kick-started Arteta’s own Emirates career.
The Spaniard played for Everton and Arsenal when Fergie won five of his 13 Prem titles at United.
Arteta said: “What really captured me was his presence, his charisma and the way he talked. How honest and brutal he was about certain opinions he had about players and the game.
“I had a few conversations, not formally, but with people around him and it was more listening than talking.”

Arteta joined the Gunners just three days after Arsene Wenger’s side were blitzed at Old Trafford on August 28, 2011 — their biggest loss to United.
He said:  “The circumstances are sometimes necessary for someone to be given the opportunity.
“Unfortunately it had to be the 8-2 because it was a big result.
“I don’t think it was just the result that got me here, but it probably helped. After that, the rest is history.”

After working as Pep Guardiola’s No 2 at Manchester City, Arteta became Arsenal boss in December 2019, landing the FA Cup in his very first season.
Since then, he has shown Fergie-style ruthlessness in booting out big stars Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Mesut Ozil from the Emirates.
And Arteta has transformed the Gunners into title challengers, with a five-point lead at the top ahead of today’s key clash with  United.
It will be the first time the Red Devils, revitalised by Dutch boss Erik ten Hag, have met Arsenal with so much at stake since the days of Fergie.
The two clubs shared seven Premier League trophies between them from 1998-2004 and the Scot riled his old rival, then Gunners boss Arsene Wenger, with his  2003 ‘squeaky bum time’ taunt.
And Arteta insists his side, boosted by the £21million signing of Brighton striker Leandro Trossard, have the style and steel of Wenger’s 2004 Invincibles.
He added: “Having those qualities, that balance in the squad is necessary.
“To have the mentality and capacity to control emotions required to play on the big stage is very necessary.

David de Gea willing to take Man Utd pay-cut to secure new long-term deal with keeper top earner on £375k-a-week at club

The Spain star, 32, would love to stay way beyond that and is hoping for a minimum three-year extension if he can agree a new deal.
Now Old Trafford sources claim De Gea has told club bosses he is after security, rather than trying to hold them to ransom — and if that means slashing his wages, then he will do so.
He is currently the Reds’ top earner at around £375,000 a week and would have to take a drop of more than 25 per cent to get his wish.
Boss Erik ten Hag has assured the keeper he has his full backing and is not chasing a new No 1, despite links with Brentford’s David Raya.

De Gea hopes that by blinking first a deal can be done as he does not want contract talks heading into the summer.
And insiders claim United are equally confident of reaching an agreement for the man who has been at the club since June 2011.
De Gea must keep Arsenal at bay in today’s Emirates showdown.

Ten Hag and Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta are unlikely to generate as many off-field headlines.
Yet De Gea does not see why the current gaffers should not slug it out for trophies over the next few years.
He said: “I hope so. We’re talking about one of the best managers in history, Sir Alex and Wenger from Arsenal.
“It’s different eras, different football but let’s see.
“Both teams have always been massive clubs, always playing to win trophies.
“So, it’s nice to play each other now with both teams in such good shape and playing well.”
Ten Hag has only been at United for six months but has transformed the club into title challengers for the first time since Fergie left in 2013.

And a nine-game winning run was only ended by Crystal Palace’s late equaliser on Tuesday.
Arsenal’s sole defeat came at Old Trafford in September but the rematch is a game United really need to win if they are to get in the title mix.
De Gea, who once made a record-equalling 14 saves when United won at the Emirates in 2017, knows it is a big ask but reckons it can be done.
He added: “We are playing well, competing very well, the team has a great spirit and we all want to win.
“The feeling is good. Arsenal are doing really well this season — but we have to go there and try to win the game.”

Under-fire Tottenham keeper Hugo Lloris reveals he’s suffering from World Cup hangover after number of blunders

Since his return, he has been criticised for a number of clangers.
He fumbled Bukayo Saka’s shot into his own net to give Arsenal the opener in Spurs’ 2-0 North London derby defeat at home last Sunday.
And at the Etihad on Thursday he flapped at a loose ball for Manchester City’s first goal then was beaten at his near post by Riyad Mahrez’s deflected shot as the hosts came from two down to win 4-2.
He also made another gaffe on New Year’s Day during Aston Villa’s shock 2-0 victory at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

And the French stopper, 36, said: “You have to take into consideration that it’s not a normal season.

“But that’s the demand of the competition this year.
“Even if sometimes you can face difficulties you just won’t give up, you want to continue, you want to push and you want to be ready for the important period of the season.
“We know that from March until June is the moment you win or you lose places in the table.
“But we know also that we have a deficit of points and we have to run after the others to get into the top four.
“But there are plenty of games and we have to stay confident and positive — and also we really want to reach the level that should be ours.
“Hopefully it will come soon and maybe it will happen for the most important moment of the season.”
But Tottenham need results to come sooner rather than later.
Tomorrow’s trip to high-flying Fulham will be another big test of their resolve.
Lloris said: “They have good players, a very good manager and at the moment they have found consistency in their performances and results.
Tottenham have lost six of their last ten Premier League gamesCredit: REX
“But we know in football and especially in the Premier League that the truth of today will probably be different in six months’ time.
“I don’t know where Fulham will finish the season but at the moment they are performing at their best and it’s very open — and when you face them you have to prepare yourself to be at your best, especially away from home.”
Tottenham have had little time to prepare but need a win after losing six of their last ten games in the Premier League.
Lloris said: “When you play many games in a short period, you don’t really have time to work deeply.
“You are more focused on the recovery. You just try to improve some aspects of the game and to prepare tactically for the next match.
“Especially after a defeat, it’s always better to play sooner.
“Whoever you play, whoever you face, the demands are very high.

He also took his speed and skills to the Qatar World Cup in the latest part of his fairytale career.
Now Toffees chiefs want Ndiaye to join their attack for the relegation fight and are putting together the funds to buy him.
Ndiaye, 22, is central to the Blades’ bid to get back to the top flight but his contract is up after next season.
Boss Paul Heckingbottom will be anxious as Ndiaye would be a huge loss and there are doubts about how much of the sale he would get to spend.

Blades are now under a transfer embargo for failing to keep up with old payments, so a sale would go into sorting that out.
Everton would be a large lure for Ndiaye with a Prem contract to offer to a player who was with Boreham Wood for three seasons.
Owner Farhad Moshiri is reacting to fan fury over their recent struggles.
Ndiaye would be a good addition if he can take his form to the top level with the Toffees.

Everton are also closing in on a deal for Arnaut Danjuma, 25, at Villarreal.

Danjuma will net £100,000 a week and a deal for the Dutchman could see Anthony Gordon being sold to Newcastle or even Tottenham.
It’s unclear who will be at the Everton helm come the end of the month as manager Frank Lampard is under a huge amount of pressure.

No Casemiro will be huge blow for Man Utd at Arsenal… but Fred and McTominay can fill gap in midfield

IT’S stating the obvious to say Manchester United’s chances of winning at the Emirates would be a hell of a lot better with Casemiro in the side. The look on Erik ten Hag’s face when referee Rob Jones showed the yellow card at Crystal Palace on Wednesday told you that.

Keeping a tight lid on Martin Odegaard will be key to UnitedCredit: Getty
United manager Ten Hag knew a tough game at the Premier League leaders was going to be even harder without Casemiro running the show in midfield.
He’s been magnificent this season, cutting out passes here, getting a toe in there and stroking killer passes around all over the place.
And now Ten Hag is going to have to try and stop Mikel Arteta’s men with his Rolls-Royce stuck in the garage. Or sitting in the stands, at least.
But I do think there’s a danger of his importance being overplayed a bit here, because the reaction to Casemiro’s suspension is as though he had a team of old bangers around him.
    READ MORE IN FOOTBALL
As much as the Gunners are even hotter favourites, anyone who sees the outcome as a foregone conclusion is making a huge mistake.
It isn’t . . . not by any means. Arsenal are playing marvellous football, have some fantastic players and few — if any — weaknesses but United can still win this, for sure.
If you could hand-pick one man to do a job on Bukayo Saka, it would be Luke Shaw, who has been the best left-back in the country this year — when Ten Hag isn’t playing him in the middle!
Aaron Wan-Bissaka has his critics but there aren’t many better tacklers than him — ask Wilf Zaha! — and I’m sure he’ll play Gabriel Martinelli well on the other wing.

Inside the two full-backs you have two central defenders who played in the World Cup final, while Marcus Rashford is the form striker in the league right now.
The goals have returned to Bruno Fernandes’ game and you don’t need me to tell you how good Christian Eriksen is.
Whoever comes in for Casemiro — more than likely Fred or Scott McTominay — has got to keep a lid on Martin Odegaard and that’s easier said than done.
But although people take the mickey out of Fred, you’re talking about a man who regularly gets into the Brazil side and he’s no mug, believe me. And neither is McTominay.
Remember a few years ago, in the games United were without Roy Keane and Nicky Butt would come into the side?
Nicky never let anyone down, he’d tear around, snapping at everything, breaking things up and giving the ball to others to play. Well, for me, McTominay is very similar.
It’s funny but when United drew at Palace, people were saying they had no chance of the title, almost as though it was a huge disappointment.
Well, while conceding a late equaliser was definitely a disappointment, they are still miles ahead of where everyone expected them to be after just half a season under Ten Hag.
I wasn’t the only one who thought a top-four finish was just about the best they could hope for — and I wouldn’t have been rushing out to stick the mortgage on that.
But they have been a different side this season, you can see the belief in them and a confidence that’s been missing over the past few years.
United — with or without Casemiro — can cause problems for anyone going forward, especially when they hit you on the counter. That’s what they’ll be hoping to do today.
And if they do win at the Emirates, they are definitely right back in the title race . . . even though I said last week that I think it’s Arsenal’s title to lose from here.
But a couple of injuries here and suddenly the whole thing changes, because there’s no way Arteta’s squad has the depth of United or City.
